Review Ummah Thai Restaurant - Campbellfield

Authentic Thai and Malaysian taste. Excellent service and hospitable staff during lunch times. I go for lunch 1-2 times a week. Fresh ingredients, healthy juicy chicken and amazing taste. I went for dinner once. After waiting for a long time, when no body came to my table, I had to go and pick menu up from the counter myself. Then i had to wave crazily before a school going boy noticed and came to serve me. Food was awesome as expected but service and staff at dinner was disappointing. This restaurant is at a premium location, becoming very famous and crowded at dinner times. Management needs to understand that to take it to next level they have to pay special attention to service quality at busy times. It is seriously under-staffed and you cannot run a professional restaurant with just family members. I love this place and really want it to do better. Besides busy times i never had any issue at off peak hours. Food quality is awesome and morning/lunch staff are the best.

Amazing experience! A must try. Food is so tasty, reasonable price and the portions are incredible. Service might take a while if you visit during peak hours but the staff are always welcoming and kind. Now it’s on my added list of restaurants when I crave for good Thai food.

Reasonably priced, full of flavour, fresh Thai cuisine, what more can you ask for? One of the really authentic tasting Thai food that I have tasted this side of town. Highly recommended to visit if you're keen to try some good tasty Thai food. Just wish they had some Thai deserts to top it off!

Excellent lunchtime menu with a good selection of dishes to enjoy. When ordering from the lunchtime menu you do get an additional can of soft drink included with your meal. Meals are delivered promptly freshly cooked with seasonal ingredients. You will find plenty of seating for in-house dining including comfortable lounge bench couch seating. Parking out the front and also in the Adjacent Shopping Center carpark. There is efpos available when making payment.

We ordered two dishes, a basil stir fry and and cashew chicken with chilli jam. They brought us an identical dish with the exact same base sauces, just adding cashews to one dish. It looked and tasted like something you could easily throw together at home. Service was OK. Would not return.

As I've been to Thailand, I was craving for authentic Thai food. I searched for Thai restaurant in my community and so glad Umma didn't disappoint my craving taste buds.😃

Service is 0 stars but that option isn't available here, if your really hungry and expecting any service and food you can eat don't go to this place! It is very disappointing to have to write this review, however the service standard and the way order errors and complaints are dealt with is non existent and taking orders only to serve people the wrong food is not acceptable. The last 2 occasions at ummah Thai where not good, 1- we spoke to the ONLY waitress about the menu and discussed the dishes for a good 5 minutes, we ordered as per her recommendation, she repeated the order walked off and after sitting there waiting for this dish for 20mins I had to walk up to ask her where the rice was 'she forgot she said as she laughed and continued her ph call! we didn't receive the dish with the rest of our food, and it was cold! 2-Today the owner came to take our order and again there was no attention paid to our order being what we got served, he had to be corrected 3 times and we ordered BBQ lamb and specifically repeated DO NOT OVER COOK, MEDIUM DONE PLZ and we received a charred/burnt dish which was not chewable, the kitchen read it wrong and we received fried calamari instead of fried chicken wings and the photo of the BBQ calamari which was cold and raw was disgusting, there was no concern by staff or management about the mistakes made, the owner even saying next time he will get it right... Unfortunatley for him there will not be a next time as this level of service and serving food that was not edible or what we orded for $80 isn't good enough. I am all for supporting my Muslim brothers and sisters but this is wrong.

I have only been there once and I never went back because food was not good. It was not only me, a whole family left the shop that day complaining about food. One of my friends had Uber me a meal from this shop( without my knowledge) which was pad thai and asked to put prawns into it. They had written prawns in the bill as well but there was no prawns at all. I believe those high reviews are all biased. I do not wish to recommend this place to anyone.

Ordered the vegan cashew stir fried vegetables, vegan Thai tofu salad and vegan tom yum soup, all delicious! We called up to ask if any of the desserts are vegan, they said no, but on Facebook they said the taro ball in coconut milk and mango sticky rice are vegan, will try them next time! I found it strange that they don't just sell Thai food but also burgers and other random things haha. But there were no vegan burgers or anything. But I am happy with the amount of vegan options, though a green curry would be really amazing as that's what I usually order elsewhere.

Service: 4.5/5
Food: 3.5/5

We ordered whole barramundi with tarmarin sauce, som tom thai and coconut rice
The fish was crunchy outside and moist inside. The sauce was missing the sour kick of the tarmarin.
Som tum thai (Papaya salad) the dressing was not punchy enough as it should be. The papaya was a bit fine so it was not crunchy enough.
Rice was well cooked.

Service was really good, the man handled the service really well. It was average to busy at the time but we felt really looked after.

The deco was out of place. Hope they update it soon

Recommended this place!

I came here with friends, and ordered the egg noodles with crispy chicken. The chicken was over fried and wasn’t “crispy”. The noodles lacked that intense flavour that you usually get from food. Although some of my friends liked their meals that was just my experience. The chicken dim sims weren’t tasty enough and I didn’t end up eating them. Customer service is really important in my eyes so the waiters were helpful and tried their best, although some of my friends waited a long time for their food. I wouldn’t recommend this again, but the food is nothing far from satisfactory.

Once I had their chilli chicken with noodles and it was absolutely yummy but the next time I had Thai green curry which tasted really bad and I couldn’t even complete it. Over all I think it’s a good place for Chinese/Thai food

Had Ummah Thai delivery for dinner, was so upset receiving my food like this, in the plastic bag my curry spilled. The lamb inside my curry was so dry and I just could not eat it! Other than that the only thing that was good was the coconut rice. Maybe if we were served at the restaurant it may have been better but that was the last for me. :(

The food is absolutely horrible. The steak was burnt to a crisp, dry and tasteless. Inedible. It was as if a cooked frozen steak was just put in the fryer to reheat. Salad and chips left a lot to be desired

Food was fresh, though flavourless.

I ordered the Penang Curry and this was unlike any Penang I have ever had. It tasted like a bunch of slightly boiled vegetables and chicken with spicy cream poured on top. Not enough vegetables or meat in the dish and the vegetables had not taken on any of the minimal flavour from the sauce.

Never will I go here again.

I have never eaten in but get takeaway. Food has always been fresh, tasty and generous in servings. I’ve tried several noodle stir fries and entrees and have been happy with them.

Got the pad Thai
Lacked basic flavours
It was nice but I felt there should’ve been more pad Thai sauce mixed in
Was a good serving nice

Would not recommend

Was pretty desperate to find Thai last night and thought I’d try this place out. Had Pad Thai, Spicy noodles and Tom Sum salad. The salad was awful. It was so drenched wet and prepped bad. I could of bought packet salad from Coles and made it better myself. Pad Thai and Spicy noodles were extremely average. Got it take away and I wish I got it delivered instead too because the place is not the cleanest. It’s a very basic place and would not recommend it to anyone. Pub down the road or Maccas 🍟🤟 is my future alternative. Would of rated it 2.5 but because of the salad being poor it is a 2.

Ordered for the first time last night through Menulog. Delivery time was a little earlier which was good. Husband and I enjoyed our meals. Satay chicken sticks were nice. Chicken dim sim were a little dry inside but we put heaps of sauce on them. Chicken with chilli and cashew nut stir fry was yummy as was the bbq beef. Will be ordering again.

Best Thai Halal food in the town in Outer North Victoria, try coconut rice, duck, halal chicken, or boiled rice. All chicken is 100% hand cut

Chicken wings were undercooked.
Beef ribs were 90% bone and fat.
Chips were meant to be included, which did not arrive.
Thoroughly disappointing.
Never again.

received menus in the mail, shown repeated sponsored ads for this restaurant over and over on the zomato app, thought why not try it out. I love thai food, and so does my husband so win win, however tonight was not the case.
Came late in the evening. Staff were oblivious that customers have walked in and we waited 5 minutes even though we sat down wondering if somebody was bringing us menus or if we had to self serve. my husband approached a staff member and he was friendly, he assured us it wasn’t self serve and he brought us some menus. Ordered egg noodle with fried chicken and chicken salad. The food was good. not the greatest but edible. Portion sizes are very generous and can seem off putting as it feels like even though you’ve eaten so much, your plate somehow still seems full. Overall, it’s off my list. This restaurant would be good for bigger groups. Very spacious. Staff need to be a bit more attentive to customers as to not leave us wondering what to do next!

Warmly greeted by the owner as soon as we walked in. The menu had good variety and the service was quick. The sizzling plate and green curry are a must have. All meals had great traditional flavours will definitely be back!
