Review Wood Oven Gourmet Pizza - Campbelltown

In my top-2 list of best Pizzas in Adelaide. Freshly sourced produce, most beautiful sourdough pizza base and absolutely yummy pizza. The host is a lovely lady. I am giving 4 star because the place and furniture is really old and I was tipping towards uncomfortably old and dingy rather than retro theme. Some strict rules like - No FPOS, No Takeaways, Only open on Friday & Saturday entry only by booking on the same Thu. With all that said, their food is AMAZING!!!

I've lived in this area for over 20 years and only just tonight found out this place existed. I've frequented restaurants all over Adelaide, been to Italy multiple times, and I eat out more than I'd like to admit. And this place has hands down some of the most authentic, awesome tasting pizza's I've ever had the pleasure of having in this country. Eating it took me back to the canals of Venice, the streets of Rome, the corridors of Bologna! The venue itself is a small, cosy affair with similar furnishings inside, but don't let that deter you. This place is the real deal. If these guys were to open up a place in the centre of Adelaide and maintain this level of quality food and service, then they would be one of the most well known places in Australia. As it is, I think they just like to do this on the side and maybe even just for their own passion for it. Few things of note - They're only open Friday and Saturday, they don't do takeaways and you have to pay either by cash or bank transfers. Other than that, would 100% recommend going here.

This place was very impressive! One of the best and most traditional pizzas I’ve ever had! Love the rustic-vibe restaurant and down-to-earth service.. can’t wait to show all my friends!

My mates been raving about how good their pizza are and finally I am able to booked and dined in yesterday. Indeed their pizza are definitely one of the best in Adelaide, very generous with the filling and they are yummy.... I will definitely be coming back again soon 😋😊

They got their rules. If u want a good experience best to follow them. The lady accommodated us even though we didn't do a booking. Margherita was sublime. Made a fan out of me. Something so simple can be so delicious. Used to believe pizza without toppings is nothing. But this was the defining moment which change my perspective. Seafood one was ok. Takes a bit for food to come out. With that said, definitely one of the best

We had a booking of five people, and four glorious pizzas to eat! My two absolute favourites were the truffle pizza and seafood pizza but so happily ate the some of others. We were debating whether to go for 5th but decided on desert and coffee instead. But wow the taste really lingered. Shame they are not located closer to my side of town. Bookings only folks and bank transfer or cash. I really wish these people well in their endeavours they were lovely.

This place for me ranks up there! Since having the best pizza at Juliana's in Brooklyn NYC top 10 pizza in the world, I would rate this as the best in SA

Been many times and love it! Truff truff, frutti di mare and margarita are faves. Seriously amazing pizza and among the best we have had in the world. Base is so light and nit doughy. The best

Absolutely awesome Rita and Tony ive known for a few years first time we went in last night and it's the best traditional italian pizza ive had kid's loved it and said when are we going back!! Also thank you for the polenta pizza we pre orded to compisate for my wife

So authentic! Really impressed with this pizza. Not mass production, not quickly slapped together & not overloaded by toppings BUT flavour packed!! We will be back again and probably could've eaten at least 3 more pizza's on top of the 3 we ordered. Really really good . Thank you so much had a really brilliant meal.

If you do one thing and do it so well, why do anything else! The menu isn't long, but the choices are not easy, each one is just as nice as the other! A nice simple place for dinner. Mismatch of furniture, and glassware all adds to the charm. The oven churns through all night, and there is only perfection in what comes out, and if it isn't quite right then another will be cooked. That shows the high level of quality that is strived for here. Having just returned from Italy, this hits the spot of quality that is seen over there and surpasses a lot that we tried, let alone how far ahead they are back here! Will be coming back again for sure.
