Review The Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant - Campbelltown

We ordered the 3 satay chicken skewers, cumin beef, crispy chicken with honey sauce / honey chicken and fried rice. Overall it was a filling meal, too much for just two people. The cumin beef had a great flavour, decent amount of beef and wasn't tough or chewy. The satay chicken skewers where also well prepared, not too salty and without a strong 'peanut butter' taste you sometimes get, it was also very moist. For me the fried rice was good, not too salty or oily which is how I prefer my fried rice, some people prefer it to have a more oily texture, but for me it's as good as I expect from a Chinese takeaway, I definitely wasn't disappointed with it. The honey chicken had quite a soft batter and unfortunately it was soggy by the time we got home to eat it. It seemed to be different to the classic honey chicken you would expect when ordering Chinese takeaway. It was definitely moist, and had a nice flavour, but the batter was quite soft and soggy this time. Overall 3 of the 4 dishes where winners and I would happily order again. The honey chicken I might give a try another time to see if any different. But overall, value for money I think this place is not bad and would not hesitate to try again with some more dishes.

I am literally depressed that new owners have taken over. I LOVED THIS PLACE! Only the brisket and shallot cakes were really nice... And I mean REALLY nice. Annoyingly nice because the rest of the menu doesn't compare, all my regulars have either vanished or completely suck. The fríed rice is pathetic, tasteless. I live 7 minutes away and the sweet and sour pork was dry as a bone. So little sauce I was basically eating plain steamed rice with dry, extremely overcooked pork. Also judging by the comments, the owner is in complete denial instead of taking constructive criticism. Something I think they should seriously consider before they lose all their customers. Change can be good, it can also be bad. This is the biggest example of bad change I can think of.

The new owners hearts in the right place but can’t feel the love translated through the dishes anymore. A saying comes to mind that if it ain’t broken don’t fix it. I’m a long time customer of the Lucky Dragon but I can’t justify paying such a high price for such blan food. As a constructive suggestion, get back the old recipes or I can’t see a longterm future for the business 🍻

Their food is tasty. Was expecting something mediocre or terrible based on reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Red bean churros were amazing. Lots of vegetables and meats in their noodle dishes. Added a bonus packet of doritos. Based.

We bought dinner from Lucky Dragon on Saturday night, second time this year. On both occasions the food was delicious and it tastes FRESH. I really don't know why there are so many complaints. We will definitely return in the near future.

Ordered the General Tso's Chicken and the Hokkien Noodles plus a few other sides. Absolutely amazing, will definitely be ordering again.

Food used to be so nice but now the new owners have essentially ruined our favorite place Prices same for smaller portions Products taste like cooked in stale oil Dim sims used to be size of a cricket ball and are now about an inch in size(yet same price as old owners) and taste like they were cooked frozen then recooked in old oil. Favorite items removed from menu(being curried dishes) Over all if we could we would give a ZERO out of 5 stars. It wasn't broken so why try to fix it. 🤢.

Lucky Dragon has great food and dish selection, as well as quick and friendly service.  My kids like the beef satay and all the main dishes we've tried we've enjoyed. The prices are very good. Recommended!

We love the Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant and were devastated when someone torched the pizza shop next door which damaged the Chinese restaurant.  Well the good news is they are open Yippee! we ordered Squid in Szechuan sauce, Crispy Skin Duck in Plum Sauce, Fried Rice, Mixed Vegies, and Chicken and Sweet Corn soup, omg what a feast! enough for 2 days food, The food was fantastic, the flavours were mind blowing and we will be back again and again. We love you Lucky Dragon.
