Review Mezzalira Italian Restaurant - Canberra

Very impressed with this Italian restaurant. Very friendly staff, very fast and efficient service (Saturday night!!!), delicious food, reasonable prices, a la carte and set menus. Went there for kinda “high quality casual dining”, but it turned to a really fine dining.

Excellent restaurant. Staff are fantastic, they know their job and are very efficient. Food was fantastic. Barramundi with citrus and fennel, gnocchi with duck and fungi were wonderful. Cosmopolitans were great too. No complaints, we were very pleased with our experience and wish we lived in Canberra, so we can eat there again and again - but alas we don’t…

We booked this restaurant on recommendation of independent restaurant review websites. Very disappointed. Food was underwhelming for the price point. Three people on our table ordered the smoked duck pappardelle. Mushrooms were not cleaned properly which left the dish with a grainy texture. So disappointed we didn't bother with dessert. Won't recommend and won't return.

Finally got around to having dinner at Mezzalira and it did not disappoint. The food was so divine and the service was impeccable. We have already highly recommended to others and will definitely be back to try some more of the enticing dishes on the menu.

Sat there for 25 mins unattended until greeted by a lovely waiter who took our drinks and entree orders. Then someone (possibly the manager) came over and passive aggressively said we were to be out of the restaurant in an hour and a half so we needed to make some decisions - as though it was our fault no one came over to us for all that time. After we had said we already ordered drinks and entrees he visibly went to check with our waitress and point over to our table. I understand having a busy night and not being able to get to each table right away, we did not complain - however this is not the customers fault and rushing patrons when we have been sitting there for 20 mins is ridiculous and created a sour taste in everyone's mouths. Food was okay however quite overpriced. Entree special was grilled scallops, although tasty- was $30 for TWO scallops. Would be great to know quantities when ordering or have waiters chime in with suggestions on how many serves we should order after we said we would be sharing entrees amongst the table. Walked away with a $500+ bill, still hungry and not very happy. A note that all other wait staff were lovely, just this one gentleman was very rude.

Lovely food, great ambience n attentive staff. We had the 3 course set menu n it was beautifully executed! Well done!! We will definitely visit again when we return to Canberra

We had dinner at the private dining area. The food was so good, we got the banquet menu. The beef carpaccio and the raviolo were delicious. The tiramisu was so good and soooo big.

I don't think it's the worst service I've had but jeez it must be close and certainly the worst for a few years and worst ever in Canberra by a country mile. So embarrassed that I chose this restaurant to take my brother and niece to as a thank you. Where do I start? I could have lived with a bit of a wait for a table, which there was despite booking, but then no water, no drinks at all, no service, no orders, no waiter even sighted for a very long time. And that was the story of the night. No-one was rude but that was mostly because they were never in sight. Someone did give my brother a wine list after a bit 'cos obviously the only male at the table would be ordering the wine - but I guess not that discriminatory if you don't plan on coming back for half an hour to take the order anyway (and another 20 mins or so to actually bring it after that). We booked (and were there) at 815 and didn't finish until after 1130. Much of that time was spent being totally ignored: no wine, no food, no water, no waiter. They were fairly busy when we arrived but not later. Food was ok but not worth it. Avoid.

We were a group of 10 ladies down from Sydney for the Cartier exhibition, we had a private room for our dinner. Everyone’s meals were delicious, beautifully served, our waitress Alessandra was wonderful, very polite, friendly, and very helpful at all times. The service from all the staff was very professional and we all agreed we would definitely return on any further trips to Canberra.

Fast becoming my favorite restaurant......of all time. Seriously do yourself a favor and try this place, and you MUST order the tortellini. We come from Sydney to eat here. Also had the eggplant parmigiana today and the focaccia at the start, mouth watering.....!

On holiday for Queens birthday weekend and had dinner at Mezzalira. What a fabulous meal! From wine to entree to main to dessert. Bellisimo!

My husband and I had an amazing lunch at Mezzalira yesterday. The scallops and the quail were perfect and the desserts were also a real highlight. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience.
