The new owners have managed to turn this place into THE BEST pub in Canberra! If I ever had the chance to meet them I would buy them a beer (only one mind you) to say well done mateys! If you're looking for great food, beer and friendly staff then your search is over! 5 STARS!
I had my 50th Birthday At The Old Canberra Inn Friday night. They were so helpful right from the start. The night was absolutely fantastic. The staff were right on cue. The food was amazing, food service was great bringing out food at exactly the right times and communicating with me from the moment we arrived. Everyone who attended commented on how good the food was. Thankyou so much for making my 50th Party the best ever!!
Last Saturday we had our engagement party at this venue, the venue was perfect for our needs, all the staff were incredible and so helpful at all times. We had about 80 guests and they accommodated us so well and all the food we had was amazing. I would highly recommend the Old Canberra Inn. Thank you!!!

We held a yr10 35yr reunion there on sat night. Great venue for a function. Staff were so friendly and looked after a bunch of 50yr olds who were thinking they were 16 again so well. Thanks to all the staff. Id book there are as a venue again for sure �

I went there first time for my holiday with one running group. There really super cool place and I loved it cause there to be warm and good choice to get drink. I saw many people come around there to be talk and enjoyed eat together they look happy also�

Great pub. Surprisingly small range of ciders (only one!) but cheap, comfortable, and even braziers outside in winter. Lots of space yet always full.
The wing deal from 4 till 6 weeknights is the best in Canberra. The wings are big, juicy, tender, spicy and delicious. Get them with blue cheese sauce. If you love wings and beer you will be in heaven. Winter can be a bit hard here if it is full up but it is worth the visit. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed.
This a pub. Everyone is happy, all the staff, all the punters, all the kids.

Had dinner here one night during a short holiday to Canberra. Very rustic and old school country feel. Lots of great beers available and while we were there they were having competing breweries fight it out for the best beer with a chip voting system. The brewers were there to chat about their stuff and offer tasters. Good music and good pub atmosphere. I had the lamb salad for dinner which was quite large but perfectly cooked and proportioned with lamb, feta, lettuce and tomato.
Has heaps of potential but saturday special turned out to be a moderate portion of chilli con carne in a hollowed out bread roll for $17. It was okay chilli con carne but it was a bit underwhelming. I hope they do better because the place has amazing potential.
Friendly service, delicious food, great atmosphere. My partner and i are from queensland and felt like hitting up a local pub for a meal and a drink. The service was great, the food was delicious and good value for money, drink prices were also good. The pub had a very old inn feel about it which you dont find in many places these days. The general atmosphere of the place was just awesome. We will definitely be coming back next time we come to Canberra.
Excellent old style pub, has exactly the feel you want and the name says it all.
Staff are very friendly and was really nice to see them making sure it was all Covid safe and people had masks on. Had a group of guys walk in with masks around their chin or not even on, pulled them up right away.
Food was so hot and fresh we had to wait to eat it, was absolutely burning hot, just what you want from a meal. Everything was delicious, seasoned perfectly and overall really well done. The French fries dip was outrageous, get extra if you can.

Fabulous historic pub in Canberra with a good wine selection and awesome food! Good portion size and great prices! Highly recommend the current special: Coconut Roasted Sugar Cabbage with turmeric chickpeas with walnuts and macadamias. Sounded intriguing so I had to try it. Amazing flavours and one of the best meals I have eaten! Well done to the kitchen for trying new things - this was an absolute winner! Please, PLEASE, consider moving this to the permanent menu - I'd dine here everyday if I could eat this!! :-)

Excellent atmosphere!! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The menu is just great, I tried the buffalo wings with chips. You can choose Big Plate or Small Plate deals, both of which are generously served.. even kid's plate are available here. Vegetarian menu as well. Highly recommended place. Go here to feel the past come to life with what theyve done with the atmosphere.

Best place, best atmosphere, loved it, but they had no burners on the front outdoor area where many people were on a cold night. Fire inside was wonderful
