This has been one of the best experiences I have had in a restaurant in a while. The staff were not only friendly they were hilarious and had amazing service. Then the food, the food was fantastic but the desert was next level. I had the baklava which was spectacular. Well done to the staff here next time I'm back in Canberra I'm definitely coming back.

Great family restaurant. Delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere and excellent service for a very reasonable price. Four of us shared a couple of entrees, had a bottle of wine and a good sized meal, for about $50/ head. Nice to eat your meal at your own pace without being rushed out the door! Totally recommend.

Last week was the first time visit to Olive. Meet & Greet was good. Lunch time menu was great, it was hard to select what to have, the owner suggested the lamb shoulder with lemon, it was absolutely melt in the mouth meal. Entree and desert was also very good. Will certainly visit Olive again and have also recommended it to others.

One of my favourite restaurants in Canberra. We've been here a few times now. The food is always excellent, the atmosphere calm and relaxing, and the staff friendly. I haven't had better moussaka anywhere. The meatballs are a little bland, but everything else that we have tried has been excellent. They go out of their way to cater for guests with allergies, too.

Amazing, first time and we will be back. The service was friendly and food was absolutely delicious. We also brought a bottle of olive oil to take home the flavour was divine. Amazing night out, would highly recommend.

We had the lamb shoulder and moussaka and I could not fault a single element of either dish. Absolute perfection. Would also like to mention they were very accomodating of my fussy toddler and pretty much made her a dish not on the menu. Definitely worth the visit. 10/10!

We had heard great reviews from friends who had been to Olive Hawker - we were not disappointed.
The wait staff were all very friendly, engaging, accommodating and prompt.
The food was delicious and the proportions fantastic.
This was a Mother's Day dinner for my wife. We had our little Miss Almost-2 with us. Always a challenge (and thus a rare occurrence) for us to eat out with bubba. The staff were very accommodating of us alternating taking her for walks in between dishes, and were very good with her, engaging in conversation.
We cannot recommend this restaurant enough. We look forward to returning many times. Seems like we found our default venue on the north side to take interstate visitors too.
PS: Thanks to the staff who gave up their dinner with their mums or kids, to put on such a great night for families like ours.

The food was amazing! The menu had lots to chose from, the food was quick to arrive. Service was a bit slow to start with, they seemed a bit understaffed considering how busy it was but it did get better as it got a little less busy, but the service was really friendly!! We were very happy with the price for 4 people and drinks we were pleasantly surprised! We really enjoyed our night and we will definitely be going back.

This restaurant has now become my go-to for everything from nights where I’m too lazy to cook, to special occasion dinners. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly!!

The food was excellent, but ... we booked for 7pm and did not get our meals until 8.45pm. Yes it was a Friday. Yes it was in December. Yes it was packed to the rafters and so noisy you couldn't have a conversation with people across the table. However, at that time of year and booked out, more staff might have been appropriate. Food 5 star. Service and ambience 2 star.

We have been here half an hour and placed our order for bread and a meal. I think that waiting half an hour for 4 slices of bread is fairly slow. Or could they have forgotten. When I questioned the waiting staff when nothing further had arrived after one hour. They provided the bread free. Still waiting for our meal over one hour Meal arrived and was ok. Staff try hard and are pleasant but need training. The restaurant is very noisy and makes it hard to hear your table companion. I will not come back

We had dinner last night at Olive at Hawker. Booked a table for 6pm and we needed to vacate by 7.30pm. We were the first to arrive and waited for 45 mins for my meal (moussaka) and my partner's meal (Trout dish) didn't arrive for another 15 mins. My meal was good but the trout in a white sauce served with undercooked green beans and potatoes was bland and caused indigestion. The only thing good about that dish was the potatoes. To top the experience there was drama at the next table because the guests found a piece of plastic in their dish...and they left without paying. Our meal was expensive and a huge disappointment. We certainly won't go there again.<br/>
