Review Teddy Picker's - Canberra

Arguably the best brunch spot in Canberra! You cannot go past their famous seasonal pressed French toast, but their kale salad is also incredible. For Brekky, I love to build my own plate from their huge selection of sides - their scrambled eggs are the perfect creamy curds! I also really love that their use Redbrick Coffee (best coffee in Canberra!) The team at Teddy Pickers are super nice and the service is always fast and efficient! What more could you want? Indoor and outdoor seating, friendly to solo diners who want to grab a quick bite! Also… if they have their carrot cake you must get a slice! AMAZING

An airy, bright and pretty brunch spot. The menu has some interesting food and drink options. The smoked salmon, poached eggs and hot matcha drinks were simply divine! They’re currently not taking bookings and have a time limit on the table seatings due to covid.

We had a great breakfast here, the breakfast roll and the eggs on toast plus bacon. The coffee was also amazing. Staff were really helpful and kindly moved us outside as the inside was too cold from the aircon and kitchen fumes were too much. Overall a great food experience, and the staff were really lovely and accomodating- I do recommend.

Love Teddy Picker. Simple delicious food and wonderful service. It is one of my favorite places for coffee and breakfast.

Not recommended. While the food and coffee here is amazing, the opening hours are not. They cannot be contacted, are often not open when their website/socials say they are, and multiple times when I have tried to eat here I have been turned away because they decided to close early. Far too unreliable to be bothered with, as it's pretty out of the way and the parking is a nightmare. Edit: staff illness was not given as the reason for closing early on ANZAC Day, we were informed that they were closing because they had opened at 6.30am and not enough customers had come to make it worth the money they were paying staff. Meanwhile there were people everywhere by 10.30am when we turned for brunch and they were closing.

Really good avo toast with garlicky hummus, three mills bread which is always great. The batch brew coffee is really generous. And they have a really nice plant wall. Jealous of the Epipremnum.

Food and coffee came out quickly and French toast had a unique texture and taste. Hash brown was so good too. People were friendly and cosy atmosphere.

Delicious breakfast with a nice Vermont chai that by the way, I loved your mugs 😍

Huge selection of tea- I drank the 'Mull It Over' tea which I found really good. My friend and I had the Eggs Ben with an addition of hash brown (+$5). The portions were decent. We went around 8ish on the Saturday to avoid the crowds at 9ish, but even at that time, the music was too loud. Service was impeccable!

Excellent food and outstanding service. Wait staff seem to genuinely love the menu and be passionate about the place. While there was a line-up for tables, the process was clear and at least we could wait inside! Would thoroughly recommend. Can't wait to come back.

Excellent coffee on a lazy sunday morning. Coffee followed by amazing brunch - scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, hand made hash brown and sourdough toast. Also pikelets with white chocolate raspberry creme and the best honeycomb I've tasted in years. And did I mention great coffee and friendly staff. Not to be missed.

Waited ages to be seated even though I could see plenty of empty tables. When I was finally seated I waited 15 minutes during which we weren't even offered a menu let alone water for the table or anything like that. The food might be nice but I wouldn't know. Judging on the appalling service it really wasn't worth the hours it might take to find out.

Absolutely fantastic. Chicken liver pate best I've ever had. Every plate we saw leave the kitchen we wanted to try.

Excellent food and the almond latte is the best in Canberra. Worth the wait for a table as it can get little busy at times.

Dat french toast, on point. Really great coffee too

Nice vibe, been there twice now. Mushrooms and french toast (more like cheesecake) dishes were both amazing. Eggs benny were okay and probably too small. Staff are lovely. Coffee and juices is awesome :)

Loved breakfast this morning. We needed to wait for a table invited to have a drink while we waited. Not long table ready. The berries with cream wonderful and the coffee was great as well. Terrific service. Can't wait to go again.

Teddy Picker's is one of my favourite places for breakfast or brunch in Canberra. The food always hits the spot and they always have unique and different dishes. There's nothing standard about Teddy Picker's!
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
From the outside, Teddy Picker’s has the bland uniformity that seems common to so much of Canberra.Even the dog bar is clearly signposted, with three silver bowls arranged in an orderly row. Wondering if I had chosen the right sort of café, I was delighted to open the door to see an interior that makes soaring bare concrete the centerpiece. As much as I’ve come to hate Edison bulbs, as a symbol of design artifice over substance, the industrial wall-mounted versions are visually appropriate to this minimalist, industrial looking setting. The only thing I’d lose is the painted grey band - it distracts from the beauty of the exposed concrete walls. Upstairs there’s a curiously artificial lounge room decked out with couches. The furniture mostly keeps to the café’s monochrome colour palette. An old school television set joins an assortment of objects that continue into the floating bookshelf that divides the main dining room from the busy coffee counter.Bar from the tea collection and house-made pickles, it's all a bit pointedly hipster for me, down to the sawn-off water glasses. The House Blend ($4) scrubbed up...

My first breakfast after arriving in Canberra to visit my friend. They have an extensive tea menu. Love decorations I wish I took a photo of it too. Food was delicious. We opted for their special drink concoction which consists of ginger, honey and apple cider vinegar! It was delicious!
Service is nice and friendly. They kind of leave you alone, which was good so my friend and I can catch up.
Outside they had this cute water bowls for your dogs I just had to include it in.

Found teddy pickers a bit hit and miss. Hollandaise was shockingly bad, just tasted like curdled lemon juice. Eggs were poached underdone on the two egg dishes. The French toast while tasted great had an unpleasant uneven soggy pudding texture. The ice cream it was served with was great and the chutney added something different and fun. Loved the way the chai latte is served. A fair bit of room for improvement but has lots of potential.

Probably the best breakfast I’ve had in Canberra in the last 6 months. Get the eggs with all the extras. The food is fresh and well seasoned and plated up with no nonsense. It’s expensive but you won’t feel cheated. The smoothies are great and they have the best tea selection in Canberra. The sweets are just as good and there’s a shelf with delicious local produce to keep you coming back
