Review Good Brother - Canberra

It’s a small cafe serving good coffee. I like the croissant and the friendly staff.

Fantastic delicious coffees. Super friendly staff! Always have a smile and just overall lovely to deal with! One of the best toasties you can get, the brisket is incredible! Highly recommend! And will always return when in the area!!

I'm a fifo worker in/out of Canberra and always try and find cafes that are so welcoming to keep coming back to. Good Brother ticks the boxes for me.....best coffee and egg and bacon rolls made to the highest specification. The app combo deal is leaps ahead of any fast food offering you'll find. All this plus friendly staff. Thanks GB,

One of the many coffee shops in Dixon. Most of them are very good and this is one of those. It was humming busily on the Saturday morning when we were looking for a light breakfast, basically just coffee. Service was very efficient and the long black and tumeric lattes we ordered arrived quite quickly. The coffee was very good, string and robust and served at the correct temperature; hot enough to release the flavour but not enough to be bitter or scald the mouth. I've had many tumeric lattes at many places and this was as good as any. I like breakfasts were copies of the day's newspapers are available. Credit cards are accepted and disabled can access the place. There are a couple of tables outside too

Still the best Birchermuesli in Canberra. Coffee always good, service fast and friendly. Only downside is they don't poach eggs, only fry, but not a problem for me because I always get Birchermuesli.

What is normally a nice ham and cheese croissant and coffee was today barley warm ham and cheese croissant handed to me after waiting 15 minutes with a look of disinterest and a coffee that was cold by the time i got to sit down and have. Making me regret stopping by Good Brother for breakfast.

Burger was good, however we did pay extra for avo and it didn't appear on the burger as ordered. The coffee was terrible/undrinkable. I think for a burger in a hurry this would be a good stop if you already had a drink.

Lovely lovely service and the bircher muesli is delicious. I don't do coffee, but my work colleagues seem pretty happy with it 😊

My smoked salmon sandwich was pretty good, and it came with some potato chips! 🥔My partner's plate was average though, they did not do poached eggs or scrambled egg. It was also quite pricey to add extras after three picks. I'd say this place is more for coffee than brunch 🙂

Consistently the only decent place in Dickson. Fast friendly service. Excellent breakfast, awesome coffee. Thank you guys! Highly recommended

Was disappointed to find that they serve Campos -one of the most over-hyped coffee companies. No depth of flavor here! But it was well made and the service was good. Also no lactose free milk...

Can't comment on the food, but without a doubt the best coffee I've had in Canberra. Never had a bad experience, even with take away coffees!

We were regulars here but have decided to stop coming after some rude treatment by the older guy who works here. He basically accused us of cutting in front of another customer, despite the fact this customer was not ready to order. The customer even tried to gesture for us to go (we had a simple take away coffee order and we were ready) but the guy refused to take our order until after this person was ready. In turn, this person felt rushed and was trying to work out what his kids wanted, it was quite uncomfortable for everyone. In the interim, some other customers showed up (clearly after us). After the guy had taken the first customer's order he had the nerve to say "who's next?" I fully appreciate servers who keep their lines in order and even those who put rude people in their place, but we honestly weren't being rude, we were trying to be efficient, keep the line moving and get out of the way. It's disappointing to be treated like that and while we enjoyed their coffee, we now go to Kickstart.

Dickson's best cafe serves up excellent Campos coffee. A popular haunt for local workers. Offering excellent and unique homestyle cakes and sandwiches, their Reuben is a favourite. Their bacon and egg roll is one of the consistently best in Canberra. 💎

Nice coffee and delicious salmon frittata.

Allergies. Coffee came out curdled, and then received a meal with butter on the bread after I had said I was allergic to dairy. Not impressed.

Good coffee. Consistently good coffee, and the best bacon and egg rolls in town. A hidden delight in Dickson.

A bit of a revelation. Superb coffee and delicious food. I approached the baked ricotta bruschetta with trepidation, but went with the staff's recommendation and was rewarded. Friendly, efficient service too.

Classic favourite. I've been coming here for my morning coffee for about a year now and every cup has been divine. Service is always cheerful and the atmosphere is laid back and no fuss. They offer a great range of sandwiches, salads, sweet treats and sushi rolls for dine in or takeaway as well as I substainial dine in menu. Try the Avocado, Tomato and Baked Ricotta on Sourdough, simply to die for and the Oatmeal with Boozy Bananas and Sultanas is filling and moorish. My week wouldn't be complete without several visits to this Canberra gem.

Small, noisy with attitude. I went here this morning with some family from Sydney. They recommended the place due to the reviews online. After standing in line for ten minutes we evenually realised we were to seat ourselves. We also eveually realised we had to get our own menus and when asked where they were was rudly pointed to a basket on the front counter , like I magically knew where they were. We sat down and then eventually realised we had to wait in line again at the counter to order. There were no staff to tell us of the go even though they walked past us a number of times.<br/>The coffee was slammed down on our table without a hello or a smile. The food was nice, probably the best toasted sanga ive had but for $10 that was expected. It took a while to come out and had a limited menu. Coffee was ok.The gelato place in the city is a lot better. Plates dumped into the sink and crokery being shoved around made it very noisy. Not a place to go with a hang over. Quick take away from here would be the best option as there is little service and the service you get is very rude.

VERY overrated. Overall, the experience was ok, but it certainly doesn't deserve to be ranked very highly. They are very limited by the fact that there is no proper kitchen, it's the old sandwich bar that was there with some revamped decor. <br/>There's no stove, so they can only offer fried eggs (literally a guy at a big hotplate), and in my opinion, offering poached or scrambled is a must.<br/>The food is by no means professional. For example, the custard that accompanies the French toast is Dairy Farmers' (we watched this being used). <br/>Service was friendly but food VERY slow. A function of the set-up. <br/>All in all, it was ok, but now it has been ticked off my list I won't be adding it to the list of places to go back to.

Sophisticated Douche. This place was ACE. I went there on recommendation and ol' mate behind the counter could tell I was a man of style and sophistication by the way I just gave him the look and he straight up served me up a mean long black without me even asking!! He then recommended this Parisan brekky thing called a Croc Madame and I swear I was in heaven....It was like better than drinking from the furry cup! Downside was there were heaps of those bike riding types there and lots of hot chicks who didn't pay me much attention.

Coffee was great. Enjoyed the environment. Staff super friendly. French toast tasty. Con: had to wait a while for food to arrive.

Best Bacon & egg roll I've had! And great Campos coffee, my favourite!

Niggles.... Overall good quality and a funky little place, but a couple of little things that just make you sigh...<br/><br/>Nice coffee but tepid milk (best of five, and all five have been on the cold side).<br/>Good ingredients but 'toastie' still cold in the middle. How I crave melted cheese!<br/>Very expensive. A basic toastie and a large coffee seventeen dollars. This includes the $1 surcharge for eftpos, which was vaguely explained as 'bank fees, y'know?' (total rort)<br/>Wifi available...but doesn't work.<br/><br/>A bit of attention to detail would cement me as a customer for life, because the staff are nice, the atmosphere cosy and they have the right idea. But these little niggles add up to place Good Brother in the category of most other 'halfway decent' places around town.

Really, *really*, good coffee. Dunno about the food but the coffee is exemplary. This place is in my neighbourhood and I'm lamenting that I've only just discovered it. Do yourself a favour and go try out their coffees as soon as practicable.

Fantastic coffee, open for 630am take away. Friendly, professional staff who are also welcoming to kids, thank you! Kids love the banana bread too.

My mocha came out quickly - it was nice and smooth with the perfect equal blend of coffee and chocolate. I notice that they use Campos coffee. One of the best mocha's I've had in Canberra.

Initially, we loved the coffee – they use Campos coffee beans and it was made well. However, in the last few months we’ve started to be disappointed by the coffee. This came to a head when I met my friend Anita for breakfast at Good Brother a few weeks ago. The concept of Good Brother is great – a casual cafe that’s tucked around a corner in Dickson which serves Campos coffee and has a small but well thought-out food menu. Anita and I ordered our usual coffee orders – a long black for Anita and a cappuccino for myself. Anita’s long black arrived ridiculously hot and had a strong burnt flavour. She didn’t enjoy it. Unfortunately, my cappuccino also had a strong, burnt flavour. The food menu at Good Brother has the usual breakfast favourites – banana bread, french toast and an egg and bacon roll. Anita and I both opted to order the fried free range eggs with three sides of your choice for $17.90. Good Brother doesn’t have a stove, so there’s no option to have your eggs poached or scrambled. I chose bacon, avocado and roasted field mushrooms as my three sides. Even though we had disappointing coffees, the food definitely made up for it. The mushrooms were seasoned well and still maintained their texture, there was a very generous serving of avocado and bacon and the eggs were perfectly cooked with the yolks slightly runny. It was a delicious breakfast! Anita ordered roast tomato, spinach and mushrooms for her sides. Due to Anita’s diet requirements at the time, she asked if the eggs could be cooked without oil – to which they were happy to do so. I love when cafes are able to be slightly flexible for their customer’s enjoyment. Anita loved her breakfast as well and a few weeks after this meeting, she mentioned that she thought the food at Good Brother was fantastic. As much as the coffee was disappointing, the food was far from it. I am sure that A
