It was quite nice, never noticed that there is a little Chinese cuisine at this place..

Had a lovely dinner here. Service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait. The menu had a really wide selection, a lot were hot. Really enjoyed trying new and different dishes.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and quick service. Dined on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. The restaurant wasn't entirely full which meant it wasn't very noisy and great for conversations. Had the following dishes: - Veggie spring rolls - Peking duck pancakes - Golden sand prawns with salted duck egg yolk and black sesame - Salt and pepper tofu - Angus Scotch fillet and black pepper sauce - Lotus root and seasonal greens Would return again for the food.

Lovely atmosphere. We ordered the barramundi in a sweet sauce. It was cooked to perfection! We had chicken sweet corn soup, vegetables with garlic. Highly recommend!

Staff were slow to take our order and slow again to put our order through the computer so that we could pay. Mixed vegetable dish was incredible, highly recommend. We also got the mapo tofu which tasted like dishwashing liquid and was virtually inedible. Not sure what to say, weird place, great food if you're lucky

Great food, something different from your regular Chinese. Drowned spicy fish if you like spicy food. The fried rice (Lap Cheong) was not your run of the mill , very tasty. I would recommend it. Staff and management also very friendly.

The food here are delicious. They offer Chinese food from a number of different regions in China. It's definitely worth trying if you're in Canberra City and looking food lower cost lower commitment type of food.

Wonderful decor and ambience. The food is on the sweet and salty side, but still refined. The service was rather slow yet attentive and friendly. Really enjoyed the overall dining experience.

Very good standard (food and service) for Canberra.
But you can give all the dumplings in entree menu a miss. None of these are up to standard. BTW there is no restaurant in Canberra serves good enough dumpling, yes forget about Dumpling Place or Dickson Dumpling House etc! None of these would come near Din Tai Fung in Sydney (Gold Standard for Dumpling).

Visiting Canberra is not the most exciting thing in the world. However good food can turn this around. Tasting China was an asian restaurant that made me not miss Melbourne very much.

The fried rice and chicken was made to perfection and I was tempted to see if the restaurant had won any 'chef hat' awards...it was that good. The spring rolls dissolved in the mouth. While the dishes were slightly expensive the service was great and the food was delivered in a timely manner. They must have predicted our Melbourne appetites!

If you are visiting Canberra and looking for some delicious Chinese food, Tasting China is definitely your answer!

In Canberra for the weekend and my friend took us here as we felt the need to have some Chinese food. It was delicious. Chinese food made modern. And we will definitely be returning to try everything else on the menu.

We did book the morning before we went in for dinner. The restaurant is decorated with cartoon paintings on the walls. The furniture looked like it was straight from China, in a good way. It took you to China. And as did the food.

We had tea ofc, even the tea was presented beautifully in a glass pot. We ordered:

Sea scallops w/ sugar snap peas. It was delicious, the scallops were not overdone. The sesame oil and ginger sauce gave it a very nice taste.

Steamed John Dory - shanghai style (a seriously secret recipe). This was delicious! I was expecting s while fish but if you knew what a John Dory looked like, you'll want the fillets. These fillets melted in your mouth. And that sauce, my goodness! It's to die for. They need to sell it by the bottle!!! That secret recipe!!!

Sichuan beef in hot chilli oil. The numbing pepper gave it a weird sensation in your mouth, was not a fan.

Peking shredded pork with pancakes. Kinda like Peking duck but with pork. It was average. I think I prefer the duck.

Ling fish and mushroom soup. It was very delicious and very warming as Canberra was a cold 4 degrees that night.

Sweet corn and salted duck egg yolk! I have never seen this before. And I love corn and salty egg so I had to try it, it did not disappoint! Very tasty!

Delightful food, great service, see you next time and we can't wait!

Food here is excellent. Good flavours and excellent service. I have to say the food is not very traditional and quite westernised, like all Fine-dining Asian restaurants.
