Went here for lunch. I ordered kua gai chicken from their lunch menu. It was tasty but a little salty for me.
I also have tom yum soup which was salty as well.
Overall it was a good lunch with a very generous proportion of food.
OK. So so , not terrible but I'd like to try and other Thai joints and won't be racing back here ...only tried a simple noodle too
Still the best Thai in Canberra. As true as it was 10 years ago, Lemongrass is still the most authentic, best value and most atmospheric Thai restaurant in Canberra.
Tasty Thai. I was in Canberra on Monday night for a meeting. Luckily one of my bestie's has recently moved there, so instead of my usual dinner in the hotel, I ventured forth with her for a pleasant meal and a catch-up. Her venue of choice was Lemon Grass in Civic and it was lovely.
Firstly I have to say I was super surprised to find on a Monday night that this place was packed to the rafters - thank goodness she had booked or we would have been searching around for somewhere else. The unfortunate side of this was that it was noisy - really noisy - not the best venue for a catch-up but we managed.
On to the food and service. I was quite happy with the service - not fabulous but not bad, passable. As for the food - delicious. We shared prawns for entree and they were amazing - coated in almond slivers and just divine. For mains we shared a red chicken curry and some pork dish - again fabulous. I love red curry and I have to say this wasn't the best I've had (that award goes to My Thai in Brisbane) but it was quite nice. The pork dish - not sure what it was as my friend did the ordering - was wonderful. I'm thinking it was one of their "specials" and it was just yummy. All served up with an ample amount of steamed jasmine rice.
I would recommend this restaurant and in fact have already done so to my colleagues who travel down there more than I do. The overall cost was very reasonable and I would most likely go back - although with so many good restaurants in Canberra there is always the temptation to try new things.
Very Tasty. Very good Thai. Fresh tastes. Great green curry. Awesome friendly service. if you need a Thai hit then i would suggest this place.
Best massaman curry in Canberra.. Plus you can't go wrong with free delivery over $40!
The food at the Woden lemongrass Thai is better but the civic store still has a good atmosphere and friendly staff
Fantastic. Visited Canberra last year for a holiday with my husband, and lobbed into this restaurant, without a booking, and had an absolutely fantastic meal. The service was great, but the food was absolutely sensational! So impressed and totally recommend.
Food is delicious, service is usually polite and prompt. One of my favorite restaurants.
This is a great spot - good service (even though they are always busy!) and great food, and very reasonably priced. They are very helpful with large groups. You will need to book as they are very popular - with good reason.
Firm favourite with MrsPatel and vegan friend. Well, last time I visited (former prime-minister) Krudd showed up and seemed to have an enjoyable meal, I certainly did!
The food was economical and more than satisfactory, though we were VERY lucky to get a table (you are any night if you fail to book ahead).
My vegan friend was well catered for, even my spice/chilli averse companion found something to eat. This is a crowd pleasing establishment, families (though I have not seen any young children), friends and couples all present. However, it may be a little too loud for a romantic evening.
Went at 7:30 on a Wednesday night, very busy, but that didn't slow things down. Great atmosphere and quick friendly service. We tried a few specials, and one had some unexpected chili, but still very nice. The sweet banana with coconut milk dessert was amazing :-)
We had dinner on a Friday night and it was quiet quick friendly and delicious. Seems most of the customers order delivery nowadays which meant we had the whole place to ourselves.
Curry puffs and king prawns for starters were hot and had a nice sauce accompanying them.
We had a chicken curry with rice and prawn pad Thai for mains which were also tasty and filling.
Authentic Thai restaurant in Canberra CBD. Great service and beautiful decor. The cuisine is delicious and generous! I took the seafood curry with a Thai iced tea. Thanks again for one of the best meals I had in Australia.
This place is great and it beats Kin Thai restaurant in both food quality and prices. I'm not related to them in anyway as I'm Russian IT Consultant. I just wanna them a great success and not to be closed as y Burmese Curry Place was closed recently. I was there 2 times recently and all dishes I liked. The last time I went with my wife and kids and everyone of us including kids liked this place most. It is a bargain for a tasty lunch menu is only $12.5 while in Kin Thai is $18.
Great service, big tasty dishes, great price. The lunch menu is a killer. We have taken 4 dishes to share I was enjoying every dish. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone.
