Came here for an early lunch at around 11.30. It wasn't busy yet but it quickly became busy with tourist and workers alike.
Basic cafe, food was probably priced but quality was good. I had the shepherds pie, great filling, creamy mash and lovely mushy peas at $15. I personally hate mushy peas as they are often overcooked but these were great and still had that "fresh pea" taste, also with a hint of mint. I bought an overpriced juice at $4, but I knew what I set myself up for.
A relaxing decent cafe, clean and spacious. Healthy food, attentive and friendly staff. Must try the dessert, delicious and under priced LOL, I ordered the freshly made chocolate mousse which is just $4.3!
Huge place with plenty of tables, we got here at 1:15pm on an rainy day for lunch. There were a lot to choose from! Got the Beef cheeseburger and it arrives promptly. The patty is medium rare and the burger came with Salad and fries. Definitely a very filling meal.
Definitely something for everyone.
It was pleasing to finf that despite the absence of any competition, the QTC does quite well as a large and high traffic flow cafe. The meals were generously sized, and the staff were polite and efficient. Decor is comfortable, but the range of alcohol options was surprisingly limited. Overall, it was nice to be able to visit Parliament without feeling the need to then go elsewhere for lunch.
Lots of seats, whether indoors, outdoors on the terrace, or there's also a more secluded indoor section with couches. Those inside seats by the windows get a nice view north. Counter service, self service water and cutlery. Originally thought about a bahn mi but upon seeing the items on display, decided they didn't look anywhere near authentic and went instead with a house made lasagne. Food was served within 15 minutes nice and hot. The actual lasagne was very dry (as in no sauce) - taste was ok though I would've preferred more sauce.
Somehow, you expect the cafe in Parliament House to be dire. With a captive audience, they've no reason to try. And anyone who works there can duck off to the members dining room (but the public can't)
Surprise, surprise! The food is pretty good, and so is the coffee. There's a bakery on-site, the prices are really reasonable and apparently it's the same kitchen that caters the members dining room, anything that's on in the Great Hall, and the PM also
I find it hard to object to my taxes subsidising QTC. And the staff here were all pretty cool, too!
Good for a light lunch when visiting Parliament House. Quick bite required and delivered. Salad, rolls or wraps an option. Polite efficient staff.
Pleasant Surprise Good food.... Pleasant Surprise
Good food at reasonable prices
Friendly service
Picture Perfect. It was a busy day and the cafe was full but enough tables and we found our spot. The service was quick and their performance was of a high standard considered the lines of people. Our kids misbehaved and the staff were very supportive, helping with amazingly presented milkshakes and coffees to catch their attention. The chef's special was duck. It was cooked perfectly. We will come back with our friends on a weekend when P house is a little more empty too and enjoy this space again.
Prices & service quite good. Nice hot food selection, nice views
Although a tad expensive, the Angus beef burger and handcut chunky chips were satisfactory. Look out for the Ninja Magpies. They hunt in a pack and have no qualms about joining you for lunch.
Ha ha had a fabulous time yummie club sammies and wine on a perfect sunny day ...but WTF the magpies are scary really scary they stalk you had to protect our meals big time..one lady lost her 6 dollar cake in nano seconds !!!
Pariliamentary Meal. Quite a nicely layed out cafe in Pariliament House. There is a wide selection of pre made sandwiches and rolls as well as a variety of hot meals which change daily. The meals were tasty and were good value. A nice break from the screaming pollies in the Lower House.
Beautiful food, great coffee and wonderful views. All within Australia's Parliament House. Take a look around and soak up the history. Read the Constirution of Australia and see Austalia's copy of the Magna Carta that helped shape our political system and the evolution of our Human Rights and freedoms. Sense the atmosphere of purpose and decision within this magnificent architectural monument to democracy; past, present and future.
Lovely cafe within the Parliament House. An excellent terrace area to enjoy a autumn cappa ☕️ with superior service👍
One of the best pie and sausage roll I have ever had. And these three mini desert were cherry on the top.
Queen's Terrace Cafe is lovely and I went there today for the first time (in a very long time).
The food was great prices and I got a Long Black Coffee and the Open Bagel.
I was very happy and it was fresh and well put together. I saw other people too buy incredible items that I want to try next time. Great spot and highly recommended for when one visits Parliament house!
A great selection of food, with both healthy fruit options and cake. There were even some macarons available too, and the coffee was decent. Friendly staff, and great for a quick break when touring Parliament House.
Really enjoyed high tea with friends of mine. Nice customer service and cosy environment to hang out with friends
I stopped by to have a hot chocolate for morning tea whilst visiting Parliament House. I loved that it came with marshmallows. I didn't have to ask or get a no answer it just same. I didn't have any of the cakes but they looked good. The staff were friendly.
