Review Thip's Thai - Canberra

One of the best Thai restaurants in town, tucked away next to Ramen-O. The food tastes great, the Thai Chicken was crispy and light. Highly recommend, keen to come back and try the curries

A small restaurant (bit hard to find at first) with good Thai foods. The dishes are very flavourful. They usually do lunch deals (hot bar foods), however hot bar is currently unavailable due to Covid. Hopefully it will be back soon. So only regular menu is available right now.

Impeccable. Great service and the food was amazing! Definitely a hidden gem. My partner and I had the seafood pad Thai, crispy noodles and curry puffs. I was really impressed by the food.

I will definitely give 5 stars for this restaurant! Very delicious and like the food I have in Thailand! Especially recommend the Pad Thai and grilled pork or chicken! Will definitely come next time!

This place is amazing. Best Thai in Canberra. Next door at Ramen O is packed, but this is equally good. Highly recommended.

As close to Thailand as you can get in Canberra. Amazing authentic Thai food!

Great food, real tasty.Ā I would rate their the pad thai as very very good ( not the best ive ever had, but extremely good).Ā Try it, and give your feedback! that's how confident I am about the quality.Ā Ā Appearance of dinning is similar to a lunch bar, could do with a make over.Ā Value for money lunches. Prompt service.Ā Could do with eftpos facilities.

Most Thai restaurants in Canberra have been localized in taste. They are not authentic to Thai people. However, this place is one of the best places in ACT and NSW, and probably the best in Canberra. As a Thai, I can guarantee the food here is authentic Thai. As for Pad Thai, this one is the second best I have had so far in my life. The best I had was in the northeastern Thailand. Ā There are some Thai food I hate, i.e., Jungle curry, but every Thai food I hate are so delicious when I have it here. Ā You will regret if you miss this.

I caught up with some friends North-side for dinner. Having heard thatĀ Thipā€™s Thai in Belconnen was authentic, I was keen to try out it out. The restaurant is difficult to find if you donā€™t know where it is as there is no signage out on the street. Itā€™s actually located upstairs in the Churches Centre building so follow the staircase up. The restaurant is set out as your typical cheapie Asian eatery ā€“ bright neon sign outside, tiled floors, plastic tables and chairs, etc. The restaurant is very small with only a few tables. I was surprised to see so many people there on a Wednesday night ā€“ mostly Asians dining in with a few locals grabbing takeaway. Good sign!

Simple Thai restaurant, however, great service and nice Thai food. It is worth to go to, although the location may hard to find, highly recommended.

Best Thai in Canberra. This place is our favourite go-to take away place. So fragrant and spicy, I can't get enough of the laab. Make sure you bring cash as they have no eftpos facilities

Deep Fried Fish with 5 Spices. Large fish fillet deep fried with crunchy coating with a 5 special spice sauce. To be eaten with steamed rice.

Delicious, homely not oily, friendly service. The house chicken was a treat. Although a little pricey considering the cheap decor, the food would rank amongst the best Thai in Canberra and I would definetely come again!

Very good Thai food at a great price. Try the Thai style fried chicken and pad see eaw and pad Thai.

One of the hidden gems of Belconnen, even Canberra. A good family-run business that is not too costly and homely.

My favorite dishes would have to be the fried chicken in some sauce that I can't remember and the fish in triple flavour sauce. The price is reasonable for Canberra's standard, I'd say.

Think Thai street food, very basic setting but great food. Thip's is a winner because the food is so great. Service is quick and friendly. But the setting is like a takeaway. BYO is cheap but only open Monday to Friday and no credit card facilities. Park in Myer carpark and walk over the foot bridge to the churches centre. Great pics were the Pad Thai, Ā Hor Mok steamed seafood and vegetable in special curry paste, Thai style fried chicken in special sauce, black sticky rice and icecream, banana wrapped in sticky rice and icecream.

Where did all the tasty cheap Thai places go? Lucky for me, I found one that still exists. Thipā€™s Thai Lunch box might not look like much and has limited parking (unless you park at Belconnen Westfield Mall at least thatā€™s two hours of free parking) and itā€™s in this weird place called the Belconnen Churches centre but it is a hidden gem where many people go to grab a cheap delicious meal.
