….who recommend the spring rolls ($7.50) or silver bags – chicken mince with ground roasted peanuts, palm sugar and honey in crispy pastry ( nice but very peanutty) ( $7.50) for entree…. And the Gang Penang – a semi dry chicken or beef curry with crunchy peanuts and kaffir lime leaves $18.90.
Bit pricey but authentic . Nice spicy Tom yum soup . We really liked the green curry with chicken . Did not disappoint although a little more expensive than we expect
Very nice Thai cheap eat ! hot green curry but it is probably the best I have ever had, the pad Thai is also great
Nearly ran into Jamie Oliver's restaurant next door, booked a table an then found out from Zomato it is only 2.8, ran away
Lucky we found something nice for dinner as we rang a few places here and they all closed for holiday

Awesome!. One of the best Thai meals we ever had in a pleasant, unpretentious setting in Griffith. The Prawn salad was a killer, I would eat it every day and die happy. Seriously good food, generous amounts and lovely service. Thanks for a great meal and see you again very soon.
A great restutant and out of this world food! The Flaming Angel Prawns are to die for!
If I was to find fault in something it could be the service but the food compensates for this!
We had our work Christmas Party at Soi VIII Thai on Griffith and we are so pleased we did. Exceptionally great food, wonderful service. We love Soi VIII Thai on Griffith! Thank you, Thank you. Thank you.

Delicious!. This place is a little treasure, flavours are fantastic. It is however BYO, which is alright as there is a Local Liquor a few doors down.
Fantastic, Fresh, Delicious!!!. What a fabulous gem this place is!
I love authentic Thai but I also love a decent sized meal. It is rare to satisfy the size requirement at most Thai restaurants but Soi 8 delivers!!!
Every dish we had was exceptional and I cannot praise or recommend it enough. The Penang is scrumptious and the seafood dishes all look amazing. Everywhere I looked, people were ooh'ing and ahh'ing about there dishes.
The chefs don't mind making things that aren't on the menu if you have a favourite.
Griffith shops is a little out of the way, but it is well worth the effort. Well done Soi 8!!
Amazing. Love Thai but there is a 'sameness' to the Thai food on the South side of Canberra. It doesnt have a freshness to it that you get in Sydney;s good Thai restaurants. Went to Soi for a birthday dinner I was very pleasantly surprised. The food is AWESOME. The entree tofu is delicious, the angel prawns are pretty special too. There was about 12 of us and we all tasted each other's dishes and they were all delicious. The Mussaman curry has a depth to it that I haven't tasted before. My only negative was the heat of the green chicken curry. It was for a child, now his curries hotter than anyone I know but not one of the adults could even cope with the amount chilli! As they knew it was for a child, I would have liked it a little less crazy hot. The fried ice cream was a huge hit and some of the crowd had been to Soi before and had fantasied about the fried ice cream for months.
Will go again for sure. Actually, taking some friends next week...
Nice restaurant. Great thai food. well priced. Excellent location. What more could you want?

Pleasantly surprised!. Decided to have dinner in Griffith and ended up picking Soi VIII Thai. The place looks inviting, cosy and smartly decorated with a pretty wallpaper on its feature wall. The staff is very friendly who makes sure that you have a great dining experience (which we did!). We ordered:
- Boo Jaa - battered crab & chicken mince served with sweet sauce & cucumber relish - very nice and tasty and didn't feel oily at all. Worth a try if you feel like something different to the thai fish cakes
- Gang Ped Yang - roast curry w/ cherry tomatoes & lychees: nice curry and loved the sourness from the tomatoes and the sweetness from the lychees blending with the duck.
- Larb (beef) - country style salad w/ beef seasoned w/ roasted rice powder, chilli & herbs: i think it was very delicious despite it being very hot (for me). We brought some home and used it for fried rice for the next day!
-Deep Fried Ice-cream with Choc Sauce: first impression? whoa! it's big. The skin was crunchy and not oily...quite good =)
Had a great dining experience!
