Review Soi Noodle Bar - Canberra

This was a perfect little lunch spot with great quality Asian food. You have the option to pick off the menu or create your own noodle dish. I created my own noodles. Was VERY spicy but overall yummy. The Japanese chicken curry was delicious. Great position sizes, fast service and good location.

I loved the food here! They did justice to the Filipino Halo Halo. The meals were decently priced and serving size was good. Staff were prompt and the place was clean.

Has to be the worst meal I’ve had in Canberra. The ramen had literally no flavour and was so cold. We even told the waiter regarding this and her response was “well what do you want me to do about it”. Really not great

Japanese-Thai fusion noodle place - affordably priced with generous portions. As per their disclaimer on the menu, everything we ordered was served with a good amount of vegetables! Service was quick, staff was friendly😊 Good for dining out with friends with dietary restrictions as every order can be personalised with choice of protein etc. Chicken broth ramen was served piping hot with well cooked noodles. Broth was slightly savoury but lacked depth - not too bad for a restaurant that does not specialise in ramen. Prawn tempura was freshly fried. Batter was light and crunchy, and the wasabi mayo paired nicely with it! Yakiudon was very fragrant and they were extremely generous with the seafood.

Fresh, fast, fabulous food 🤩We ate here twice in one week. Service always excellent and food delicious. Highly recommend the octopus takoyaki balls, spicy tofu, the stir-fry XO eggplant w chilli & karaage buns 🤤

This is my first time having lunch here.. The place is comfortable enough even the place is not so big. What I like is their fast response in serving our order, just like in minutes. The menu appearance is delightful and the taste is good. I definitely will come back again next time to taste their other menus.

Small noodle restaurant but has so much to offer. Clean warm environment , although my halo-halo took quite some time but i must say that its worth it. Best halo ive had so far. Thank you.

Had the beef and chicken ramen. Very tasty, really liked the broth. I find it unusual to have corn in my ramen though. Nevertheless, great place for a bite and hang out with friends.

Very friendly staff. Wagyu beef was fantastic . Totally recommend it for fellow travellers to Canberra for a quick meal

Great food and generous portions, served with a smile. Salt and pepper calamari excellent and the tan yum soup with lamb was best I've ever eaten.

I've only been there twice both times ended up feeling real sick. So first time the food was alright but when drinks were brought to our table I specifically asked what's in the orange one as I was a bit concerned there was mango juice mixed in it. I was told it's orange and I had a sip. A few moments later I started to feel something was wrong as I tasted mango in the drink!! I'm severely allergic to mangos would really die within a few hours without proper treatment. I ended up spending the whole night awake worrying that I could just die any minute. Second time was nothing better than that. I asked at least three times at the counter to not put any mushroom in the stir-fried noodles but turned out they never listened and put heaps in there. I ended up barely eating that day cuz I just felt like throwing up after seeing all those pieces of mushroom in the dish.

Love it! Fantastic healthy food with a cool, casual vibe. The food is super fresh and they treat vegans like normal people. But they also have the best Tom Yum soup of all time, according to my girlfriend. Prices are really affordable and it's actually a really great date spot (because it's cool, not because of the prices). Say hi to the boss John. He's the man.

It was okay. I've had the pad thai and miso ramen. Both good with nice garnishes but for the price you pay, the amount of meat is poor. I got little pork in my ramen leaving me hungry and quite little chicken in my pad thai.

Soi offers a wide range of dishes and somehow all of them are superb, take no time at all to emerge from the kitchen, and are extremely reasonably priced. My partner and I have been here numerous times for dinner and always have a good experience. Highly recommended!

Paid $22 for the Wagyu stir fry in which I got half a box full (much less than I've had before) and no rice (like I did 6 days before). When I called I was told they changed the menu without any notices and he was not helpful and was not listening. Very disappointed as I used to recommend it to everyone and now would not go back.

I ordered the pad Thai for takeaway and it was delicious! Tasted very fresh and the portion was good. My partner had a beef dish and said it was faultless. Will definitely be coming back here!

Came here for early dinner to tried their food.
We ordered the pad thai and chicken ramen.

The ramen is okay but the pad thai was so good.
The portions were big enough for share.

Friendly staff and good service.

Love Soi noodle bar! High quality food and nice price. Plenty of vegetarian friendly options to choose from and all of them are amazing! The flavorful Thai style food is just perfect!

Would recommend the yakiudon, saucy in the right amount and very flavorsome.
Yakiudon > pad see ew in this place apparently. The ramen also looks nice.

Had the Curry Don and was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit sceptical of this place for a while because it looked like they had too broad a range of dishes from different Asian cuisines but I'm so glad I gave it a go. My partner had the Chicken Ramen. It's pretty difficult to find Halal Ramen these days so I was pretty pleased.

The ramen doesn’t have enough flavours, as an Asian, I’m kinda disappointed with this.
But the pad Thai is alright and big size.
Service is alright.

Delicious freshly cooked noodles! Fast service even during the busy lunchtime rush. Ordered a chicken laksa which was rich, sweet and had a generous amount of chicken. My friend built his own and was also not disappointed. Also tried the beef gyoza which were excellent, there was something burgery about them. The lamb bun were also tasty.

Loved this place. We came for lunch and then back again the same day for dinner. Make your own or choose one they have already on the menu. The takeaway packaging is the best I’ve seen. Spring rolls are large and tasty. We choose hokkien noodles and also the basil chilli. Highly recommend. Not many good Asian food in this area. They also have slushy machines. Service was nice and helpful.

They have a variety of options for vegetarians which is sometimes difficult to find.
Quick and prompt service is what you need when you are in the civic.

Stir fry noodles better than ramens here, as the ramen broths were all the same flavour though labelled differently. The location is very convenient and the food comes fast, so suitable if you want a quick and filling meal.

It was my first time to try Soi's Islas Filipinas (Halo-Halo). My expectations were high as this was one of my childhood desserts, but they've lifted up their standards using authentic Filo ingredients. Eating this dish at 12 degrees on a breezy Canberra weather is a perfect way to end the night. I score you a 10/10.
FR- Tastes
Taste: ate here for early dinner after Saturday shopping with mum & partner we tried a few dishes as a lot of them sounded pretty nice on their menu and we were quite famished after all the walking we’ve done.
1)We had the spicy Edemame beans, which was coated in sticky sweet/spicy sauce.
2)The spicy tofu was as good and tasty as it was aesthetically served! The tofu was cut in small cubes deep fried in a ultra crunchy batter and topped off with sweet charred tiny cubes of eggplant, the miso dressing tied the whole dish together.
3)Slow cooked Beef cheeks- were melt in your mouth; tender and buttery, was complimented well with the wasabi mayo and served with black rice and some slaw.
4)Yakisoba- the noodles were al dente and seasoned well, the veggies were cooked just right wasn’t cooked soggy with crunch on them. In all, was a great dish but just got a little heavy on the sesame oil.
5)Green apple salad with battered fish fillet-my absolute favourite every time we dine here, fresh and light! The fish fillets were nicely battered, apples gave it a sour hit and balanced the saltiness of the dressing. Crunchy, fresh and flavourful! Definitely something you won’t get tired of eating!!
6)Prawn Tempura Bun- the buns were fluffy and the prawns had good batter that gave the crunch, the wasabi mayonnaise dressing elevated the dish. @it also had a bit of pickled ginger that made it taste even yummier!
And lastly, we had the
7)Islas Philipinas- their version of halo-Halo definitely lives up to its name, colourful, fruitful, milky and sweet. Elegantly served.

*drinks:
a)Fresh coconut juice-definitely would recommend trying the whole fresh coconut juice! Fresh, and comes straight from the coconut itself which means you get more of the coconut meat yourself
b)Watermelon suika- watermelon, mint and lime goodness but would probably suggest to have it served on larger glass perhaps?

Service: top notch! Friendly, professional and our food came fast specially having ordered quite a few dishes

Location: right in the middle of CBD, a bit difficult to find parking but location of restaurant was not hard to find, the dinning area was a bit small, but the turnover of customers/service staff was fast and proficient

Price/value for money: a bit on the expensive side, but worth the bucks as dishes came in big portions and tastes hits the spot

Thank you, Soi! We’ve enjoyed our meal here once again! Would recommend and we hope to dine here again soon!

Couldn't find the Civic store on Zomato so here I am posting a review on the Acton store. Ambience and menu looks great, like casual trendy Japanese restaurant. Some interesting menu options especially the summer menu. I ordered the cold ramen and halo halo. Staff was smart enough to ask if I wanted my dessert served later. Kudos for that. Ramen presentation was 10 out of 10 but just tasted like a bowl of vinegar. Too sour for my liking. No dashi, kombu or soy taste, just plain sour. Chicken was done peferctly, very juicy. Noodles were alright. Halo halo was good, the azuki beans used were very hard. But neverthless, reminded me of my Philippines trip. But the cold ramen was a let down.

Warning, they have limited seating inside. They offer a range of the typical asian dishes. I had a Japanese udon stir fry, also tried some of their Don Buri, Pad Thai and created our own stir fry where I choose the base, the additional foods and the sauce (ended up making oyster sauce fried rice with chicken). Taste for food was alright but nothing outstanding. They also offer takeaway which seemed popular when I was dining in. They provided takeaway containers when we weren’t able to finish the meals.

This is like an upmarket take away (similar to Nandos price and service style). Prices are good for the portion size but some veggies in the noodles wouldn’t go astray. Service is ok and ambience is simple but nice.

Had some takeaway via deliveroo - ordered the pad kee mao with beef $15, and delivery was unexpectedly free. The food came pretty much exactly at the requested time, and was still welcomingly hot on this overcast day. It tasted great and portion size was pretty good too. Two thumbs up.

Loved this place! Only down-side was waiting forever for seats! Other than that, I think pricing for food was great, and most importantly, food was amazing!

I created my own vegan dish with rice noodles and the Chilli Basil which was one of the best Thai dishes I've had! It wasn't too oily, it was flavoursome and portion was great 😊 Only thing was, I ordered extra veggies but... it didn't seem like that much extra veggies haha 😅

Staff were friendly and attentive, area was relatively clean as well 😊

The dish is a bit more expensive than average Asian or noodle restaurants, but the ingredients are also fresher. I ordered a vegetarian stir fried noodle, the vegetables were fresh in colour and taste. Food was served fast.

Headed here for dinner, ordered the mussuman curry, quick to take orders and food is reasonably fast too, quality of the food is great! Would definitely recommend coming here for a meal.

I absolutely love this place! Food is on the pricey-end but the food is consistently delicious and staff are always friendly and polite! And with the option to design your own dish there is sure to be something for everyone here.

I know I’m behind the crowd on this one – Soi has been dishing up noodles and other delicious things in the city for a while now – I finally stopped in for a weeknight dinner with friends. You order at the counter and I picked the chicken yakiudon ($15) and a cup of genmaicha ($4), my favourite Japanese tea. I’m usually wary of restaurants trying to do too much – the menu has Thai, Japanese, etc. – but the yakiudon was pretty good considering it isn’t a specialty Japanese restaurant. Whilst the vegetables weren’t totally authentic (pumpkin?), the flavour and texture mix worked well – the mushrooms were particularly good. There were plenty of

The Soi Noodle Bar is a perfect spot for a pre or post movie drink and casual meal. Located in the Canberra Centre close to Dendy, parking is easy and it’s open every day until late. Not licensed, it very helpfully offers BYO wine at $3 per person. You can choose from differently sized Japanese, Thai and Korean dishes to suit your appetite and budget.

This was the first Thai restaurant we had food from in Canberra and since then it has been hard to find anywhere to rival the chicken pad Thai dish. If you like pad Thai then this will not disappoint.

Amazing place for a casual meal.
Create your own or pick from the menu.
Prawn chilli pad thai is 10 out of 10.
Takoyaki octopus balls are also great.
Soi Noodle is a noodles shop that recently opened a few months ago and is located across Guzman y Gomez. Similar to some of the Asian noodle stalls you come across; you basically choose your noodles, your meat, your sauce and your topping and they whip it up for you. There's also some side dishes and one or two rice dishes on the menu. Menu is essentially pan-asian style, a mix of Chinese, Japanese and Thai mostly. That being said the food is good, though slightly pricey, and there are weekly lunch specials. But you can't help shake the feeling you've tried something like this before, especially if you've lived in Sydney. I personally recommend the Thai chilli and basil mix with thin rice noodles. Good place for a takeout as well.

Great food and friendly service. Full of flavour! Find that it is a tad expensive for what you get. Seating can be a bit too cramped at times.
