Review Barrio - Canberra

Cool hipster-style place that takes its coffee seriously - this can’t be denied. It falls into a pet peeve of mine in that it feels comfortable dictating how you should drink your coffee - only one size, and only one alternative milk: a house made almond-cashew which imho didn’t go well with the coffee at all (an issue I’ve found with a few places that do house made alternatives recently). All I wanted was a large oat flat white - would it kill you to just make it…?

Fantastic house chai, and turmeric latte was also interesting! I LOVE the egg n mushroom! The chilli oil and bean sprout are so creative and elevated the taste. Service was also good.

Definitely try their coffee! They make their own in house diary free milk which I love the idea of. It is a bit thin (compared to full cream, yes I know, silly comparison) but yummy nonetheless. I had the egg and peas on toast dish. I mean it had good flavours but when you think about what you're paying for for $12, it's worth trying but not something I'd come back for.

Always have a great time grabbing a coffee and doing some work here! Super cosy place with lots of charm. If you're looking for somewhere hip with lots of personality, Barrio slaps.

Not that good. Got a large takeout coffee and had to pay for two coffees as they only have one size got halfway home and tasted like off milk, tipped it out. Other coffee was regular size but only 2 thirds full. I’ve had better coffee from a servo.

They really do know how to make a great cup. Quick service, great consistency. If they’ve just baked their buns be sure to try one!

Great coffee spot. Came here every time we are in Canberra. The food menu is simple and changed through out seasons. Very reasonably priced. Sometime you need to wait a bit long for the food. It just because it’s always full of people and sooo popular. Coffees always great. Always. Highly recommend.

Top notch coffee no doubt. Their mushroom katsu sandwich has so much flavours! Definitely worth a try!
