Review Early Doors Cafe - Canberra

Pixel Le'bon
Came here to get a bite as it was open during the Easter weekend and discovered a little gem in this side of town. The pulled pork burger, grilled chicken burger, salmon salad and smoothies were delicious. The fries were crunchy outside and soft inside. Waiting time was reasonable given the quality of the dishes. The menu is impressive for a cafe with a lot of choices for breakfast and lunch. Chairs were comfortable to sit on thanks to the padding and the chair legs had felt pads which means they don’t kill yours ears when you move them. The place was very clean, well maintained and the service so friendly. Order and pay at the counter then food and drinks are served at the table. There are a few tables outside.

Very good service and flexible in changing the menu to suit us. This quite little cafe has a very homely feel with its decor and atmosphere and is very inviting. There is also a kid's corner so you can keep the young ones entertained while you finish lunch. Pricing is reasonable and the food was mostly very good. The only shortfall was with the chicken schnitzel, which was over done and the coffee was average. Will I come back in future? Very likely because there is very much to like about Early Doors Cafe, and hopefully they will have improved when I visit next so I can update my review to five stars.

Rather average experience eating at Early Doors Cafe for the first time. I found that the Vegiki lacked a bit of flavour and on the smaller portion side and my friend’s toastie was a little bit under-toasted however the burgers and hot chips looked nice. I also enjoyed their coffee and the atmosphere itself :)

Summing up the Early Doors experience in one word, underwhelming. Every thing was just ok, nothing bad but nothing good either. Not an experience I would care to repeat.

Lovely little cafe. Great coffee and great food, well presented and staff were lovely. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Fantastic light breakfast - the bacon and egg wrap I ordered was cooked well and had minimal oil/grease with a great flavour. The iced mocha was the best part - minimal ice, good quality cream and cocoa powder, a nice initial dark chocolate flavour with a strong coffee after-taste. Highly recommended for a light breakfast or brunch!

The food and service were good. It's a shame the outdoor area was converted to a bus stop 🙁

When in Gungahlin and looking for good coffee, food and friendly service this is the place to go. One of our favourite places in this area as it quiet and always welcoming, either for early breakfast or last minute coffee.

We had the big breakfast which was good value for money. Fast and friendly service. Music was a bit too loud which made it hard to have a conversation as the acoustics from other diners was louder to compensate. The only other let down was that it needed a good clean, especially the floors. Young waiter was just brushing the debris from the tables down to the floor rather than collecting it. Small dining area but still quite cute. We would go back again.

Simple breakfast with small serving.
Nothing really great about breakfast here!
It's not bad but not worth the money.
Didn't like the fact that for breakfast we have to order and pay first at the counter. If we wanna order something extra then what.
Lady was nice enough to ask and give extra plate for kids.
Food flavour is average.
Won't come again.
Good service, atmosphere and music, although the food is a little bit overpriced for what it is and the coffee is pretty ordinary. But still, definitely a nice place in Gungahlin to catch up with someone!

Overpriced and bland.. Thought I'd give this cafe a go today. Sat down at a table outside for about 7 minutes, all the while being ignored by the waiting staff who clearly knew I was there as we briefly had eye contact as I was sitting down. Had to go inside and approach the lady at the counter to let her know of my presence.
Finally got my order of salmon, avocado and extra large eggs (which were clearly not large). Much to my disappointment, the dish that was presented to me comprised of 3 small slices of avocado, 2 thin pieces of smoked salmon (one of which was partially brown) and 2 small eggs on 2 miniscule slices of sourdough bread with no sauce whatsoever all for $18! Was not even offered salt and pepper.
Needless to say, that was my first and last visit to this cafe.

We've walked by many times and seen it full of people. May as well give this place a try. There are some outdoor seats but it's way too cold for that. It would be lovely on a beautiful day though. Walking toward the counter, I noticed the cookbooks on the shelves. I couldn't help myself and grabbed one to read while waiting for my food. View from inside Specials Homemade baked beans and poached eggs on toast - it's not the traditional tomatoey beans. The base of this one reminds me of creamy chicken soup. I noticed some carrots and possible basil. It's probably

My favorite neighbourhood breakfast/brunch place. I've been coming here since the previous owner. Even though it's now owned by a korean family, their food is still good. The only thing missing is free wifi :P

Just discovered this cute cafe in gungahlin, was very quiet on a Saturday mid-morning, staff are very friendly, good atmosphere, coffee and smoothies are good, perfect for brunch!

Nice Eggs Benedict. The decor needs a revamp. The family photos hanging on the walls are a bit much.

I had the poached chicken, walnut, apple and rocket salad. Tasty, fresh with good service. I like the relaxed atmosphere and the desserts look great. I definitely recommend it.

Atmosphere needs improving with smooth jazz music. Theme could be enhanced with more London memorabilia

A good local in Gungahlin. I've been to Early Doors a couple of times since it opened a month or two ago. The food I've had there been quite good and with a bit more variety, such as the Moroccan Eggs; Eggs with Homemade Italian-style Baked Beans and a few other things.

The coffee has been a little hit and miss, largely depends on who makes it. Hopefully it will improve.

Other good points is that it isn't as busy or noisy as some of the other cafes in Gungahlin.
