Review White Chaco - Canberra

This has to be one of the nicest Japanese restaurants - with a Taiwanese twist. The dining area has a clean, modern look with subdued lighting and polite staff. The food was from all courses was delicious and you could see the chefs also put in a little extra effort in the presentation too. I have to say the garlic pork ramen was excellent, with the pork melting in your mouth and the soup rich and creamy... as all good ramen soup should be. I purposely didn't overeat just so I can come back tomorrow and try more dishes. AAA+ Recommend!

White Chaco does not just offer exceptional food. The thing that impresses me the most about this place is the passion they have and have always managed to convey through each dish from day 1. They understand what great food is, and with their innovative ideas, they never fail me each time I eat there. Fresh ingredients, no compromise on their quality of food and customer service even during peak COVID shutdown period, very reasonable price for the great quality food you get, all these things make White Chaco one of the best restaurants in Canberra. It’s a hidden gem, without a doubt.

Great food and the most efficient and friendly service. The noodles were perfection. The spicy red pork brotu was delicious, although not really very spicy at all. I also tasted the truffle ramen broth (vego option) - fairly average. Would definitely come back again. P.S. for dog parents, if you call ahead, there's an outdoor area with heaters and blankets!

Love, love , love the ramen in White Chaco!!! We arrived from Melbourne late afternoon and were super hungry. Since my son was a bit under the weather, we decided a bowl of steaming ramen would be good. White Chaco didn’t disappoint!!! My kids both got the garlic pork ramen. I got the Red Ramen for my spicy fix and my husband got the Gochujang Ramen. We all opted to upgrade to the handmade pulled noodles and it was defining worth it!!! The soup base was thick and we loved the twist. The texture of the handmade noodles was perfect. Bonus was the great staff. One of them noticed my son was not feeling well and gave him a pot of warm water without us having to ask. Can’t recommend this place enough. Will definitely be part of our itinerary everytime we visit Canberra.

One of the best Ramen I have ever tasted in Australia! I ordered the chicken wings, scollop, garlic pork ramen, and sesame ice cream today. What makes me most surprised is their ramen soup doesn’t have pork stinky flavor, but comes with strong fragrance of pork bone and gentle garlic smell. Besides that, the chicken wings taste fantastic, though they are more like Korean and Taiwanese flavor to me. Btw, the waiters are also friendly and enthusiastic. Definitely will come back and visit again

Good ramen place, not sure if you can find a better place in Canberra for ramen but I’ve had better. In saying that the ramen was good like I said but I think the portion was a bit smaller than I expected. Overall it tasted good if I remember right. Also finding the place can be tricky as google maps will point you to the right place but it’s inside a small area next to a barber. I’ll attach photos and the menu to assist anyone trying to find this place lol

In Canberra for a couple of days so tried out this place. Was pumping for a Monday night, enjoyed some sashimi starters then went for the Sesame Black Ramen. Was good, nice broth, lots of chewy noodles and the Chashu was on point. Egg was just right for me too. It's got a variety of styles so probably not 'authentic' Japanese but it all tasted really good. — eating dinner at WHITE CHACO.

"Best Ramen in Canberra & I've tried them all" by the Bento Tei owner who recommended White Chaco to us during our visit. To his credit the meals met expectations. Highly recommend. Bookings advised if eating in.

Absolutely an amazing place ! The spicy pork belly ramen was literally mouth watering . Definitely a must try to those who enjoy looking like they just gotten out from the gym look after a meal . The salmon sashimi was winner for me . Melts like butter .

went here with a dear friend. food was awesome. i had the :
- pork ramen: great broth very porky and delicious, noodles were solid, not as good as a dedicated ramen restaurant but still good bite.
- chongqing popcorn chicken: authentic flavour, great value.
- baos: 10/10, beautiful flavours.
- soup dumplings: hard to acheieve, did good work but perhaps some of the garnishes can be left off

would be interested to see you expand to larger premises and have more seating for waiting customers

This place is one of my favorite restaurants in Canberra!! Their pork ramen is definitely the best for a cold winter night. Salmon sashimi is wondeful- better than most ones I had in this region. And I do love their soup dumplings- I never realized we can eat soup dumplings this way- with shredded ginger and coriander. It's actually very good!

Hidden gem in Braddon. Try this because of friend's recommendation on the ramen and popcorn chicken. Honestly, I may have missed it if I simply just look at the rating. Best ramen in Canberra without hesitation!

The soup dumplings from White Chaco are the best I've had in Canberra! I also tried the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and it was so tasty. It's a small modern restaurant in Braddon with nice and simple decor. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more dishes.
