Great Food.. ! Loved the desert - banana roti with ice cream....
Have been going here since first open. Most fav restaurant in Canberra. Fresh and honest food.
Love it. Very tasty food and excellent service. Roti are the best.
It's like being in Malaysia! Great food, friendly hosts, nice atmosphere.
Lovely food friendly service can't fault it will deffo be going back
I had a delicious Malaysian Beef Rendang, Kang Kong, Roti Canai and Lamar. I liked having the option of modifying the chilli preference for the curry (I went with mild). Service was impeccable and food came out without much of a wait. For the price paid the portion size of meals were quite small.
We went for dinner. The ambience was good.
We had a variety of dishes. The murktabah was amazing. Also, their roti dishes were good. However, the vegan dish was bit average.
The Roti House at the bottom of the Ernst and Young building on Marcus Clarke Street in the City, has really great flaky roti. Once you try it, you will just have to go back for more. Roti is available with some dahl and chicken curry for $12 per plate…. …but it may be better to order the single roti for $6.50 and team it up with the very delicious Beef Rendang $16.80 – beef curry slowly stewed in coconut milk and secret spices.
I've only gotten takeaway from them a few times. Service is prompt, and they make a decent enough Ipoh Hoi Fun which is reasonably priced. Restaurant always seems empty when I go in to collect my order which is a worry, unless 6ish is too early for their dinner crowd?
Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic rotti and laksa. Always enjoy going back here. As I work my way through the menu everything had been good.

The food was really fantastic. We saw a chef in the window making the roti properly (not using frozen ones) and the food we ordered was as good as any that we had had in Malaysia.
Authentic and Affordable. Went there a few days ago. Service was polite and prompt. The food was really good, thought the chicken rice was very authentic. The rotis were all freshly made up front. Prices are affordable at about $15 to $20 per person. Would come back again.
Good meal. Atmosphere was buzzing on a Friday night, and service was a breeze, with delicious food being served at a good pace. Waiting staff also topped up our water regularly. Menu had good options for the family, adults and kids alike (including my sister who is a vegetarian). The crispy and sweet hat roti was the highlight of our meal.
Lovely Roti. Hit's the spot! Would definitely recommend the Roti and Rendang.
Good job guys! Keep it up!
Tasty. Perfect for lunch on a cold Canberra day. Reasonably Priced. Very friendly staff.
Well-established and generous. My friends and I visited this place last year and I agree with some of the reviews that it was definitely lacking.
This week, we went back and... Man, they have improved! We ordered 4 different rotis. Perfectlisimo! Beef rendang was slow cooked, which is authentic. Ipoh horfun was generous. Nasi lemak was good. Except the sambal was not hot enough (Tip for future customers. Ask for the hotter sambal!)
They topped up our roti curries for free and would do anything for us to have a good dinner. Not pushy too.
Overall, I like everything except they didn't get that sambal right. Oh one of my friend was a Muslim and the food was halal (which is correct). Other so-called Malaysian restaurants don't even bother to buy halal products.
I'm happy. (Coming from an Indonesian Chinese + 3 Malaysian mates)
Nice Malaysian food. Came here as my friends from Melbourne recommended it. I am pleasantly surprised. The rotis are fresh and flaky. The curries and laksas were delicious. I also like the drinks selection and finished two glasses of the syrup bandung, the shocking pink condensed rose drink. This is becoming my favourite local dining place.
Great Roti and the curry was very fragrant. Seems to have improved since the previous reviews because there were 8 of us and everything we ordered was available and food was nice and very fragrant. Cheap prices for Canberra and huge servings. Service still needs improvement as they forgot 2 meals but did apologise and did bring them eventually. I'll be going back
Try the Roti!. The roti canai here is delicious. Washed down with a hot mug of teh tarik and you'll be in seventh heaven.
The only thing I didn't like about Mamak Roti House was that there was simply way too much onion in some of the dishes. I do love onion, but when it is dominating everything else then it becomes a bit unappealing. These dishes were the assam-style fish and one of the vegetable dishes.
I still really enjoyed my meal here though. And I look forward to coming back again soon.
The Roti House appeared late last year, and features wonderful, fresh Malaysian fare including savoury and sweet roti (made on the premises), curries, desserts and drinks. We've been there twice now, and it is great to have fresh roti canai and cendol so close to home. Here are a couple of desserts ...
Mamak mee goreng - hokkien noodles wok fried with chicken, tofu, onions & tomatoes, in a blend of sweet & spicy sauce The mee goreng was pretty good. A good generous serve, tender chicken, fresh vegies and noodles that were coated in a flavoursome sauce. There was even a hint of the smokiness from the wok.
My 2nd time here! We went for their buffet this time (only in this December!), the food didn’t disappoint us! We thought it was a great deal, only $32.50 per person. Owner was really friendly as well. Would like to come back again!
Went for dinner with friends to Masterboa. We were blown away with the large menu, authentic Chinese and Malaysian food and great service. It’s also a family and child friendly place . Great ambiance, centrally located with lots of parking , great service and great food. We are coming back here for lunch tomorrow to try the other dishes on their menu . Thanks Masterboa.
Enjoyed a delicious meal delivered to our door. The roasted duck, roasted pork and BBQ pork is a must try! Definitely best in Canberra 👍. We've also tried many of the veg dishes. All very yummy. This round tasted the deep fried eggplant in special sauce-simply delicious. Other veg dishes you must not miss is the homemade snow white tofu, yam ring and chilli stir fried cabbage. Taste and flavor has always been consistent.
Been here a couple of times now. Eaten in and takeaway. Both times the food and service were great. Lots of options to suit all. The lady who served us was friendly and answered every question we asked (dining with a vegan) and was able to adjust some meals and spice levels to suit. Waiting for takeaway I watched the chef separating the ducks hanging in the window. It was nice to see such care and precision. If the location was south, we'd be here every week.
Yummy and generous portion size. Am always happy with quality dining in or my first time takeaway. Owner down to earth and friendly. Definitely my favourite Malaysian restaurant in Canberra
Laksa was fantastic and so was the BBQ pork. BBQ pork was out of the world, very closely resembling to the ones in Malaysia. I also had the opportunity to try the kam heong pipi and it was equally as good.
Beautiful relaxing atmosphere and food was awesome. Lunch menu is the best. Today had the best Singapore noodles ever and the dim sum steamed was soo good.
Their food are great. Previously went there few times and never disappoint us. However, we went again this week at 7pm and we ordered 3 dishes, 3 out of 3 were not available or was told sold out (at 7pm) bit dissappointing. But we end up ordering other dishes, which were tasty.
