Just for a moment, i thought i was in Europe...the poetics of space, with rows and rooms of old books, upstairs meeting place with good chai, tea and coffee, something tasty to go with it, various creatures large and small and charming, a diversity of people and not all of them young and polished, a gathering of experienced and eager musicians, singers and tale-tellers, indeed, all of the prerequisite components for creating deep culture within community and welcoming variety to input...who could not feel warmly welcomed and assured that they have found a great place with belonging at the heart of their subjective experience...love this space where anyone might thrive instead of just existing...my only recommendation is that disability access might be given some more mindful consideration for those not able to manage the stairway up to the coffee and music, but thank you kindly for all the other inclusions x
Best book shop, best owners. Music and food, warm environment and always makes you feel welcome. Canberra's hidden gem.
Best book shop in Canberra! So much selection, can easily lose an entire day wandering around here!
It is one of my favorite places ever. I miss working there. I miss the wonderful customers I got to chat with. To go down those stairs to smell the books and coffee always brings me joy (the two most wonderful smells combined).
Perfect place to be. Great proprietors. So friendly. Simon is wonderful. Must visit.
Loads of fun at Beyond Comedy on Friday night! Thanks for having us, we'll be back, again and again, hopefully! :)
Welcome to Weston Creek! A sunny and quiet upstairs space for music and a glass, cool and booklined downstairs shelves. So many books.
Delighted to see these guys are still up and running at Weston Creek on their new premises! The upstairs area looks beautiful and I can’t wait to see the cafe full of people next time I visit from Perth <3
Such a nice atmosphere - lovely and light up in the cafe. Looking forward to the extensions out the back!
Great space to visit when you visit Canberra. Browse through the books (you need weeks), enjoy coffee/tea or listen to music. Owners and staff are very friendly. Family friendly
New fav bookstore! Loved the cat, cafe with live music was lovely. Such a cool looking bookstore.
Great live music and great coffee. Mix that with a collection of rare and forgotten books of the past, and it's a great place to go to be lost for an hour or so.
A book store with as much hear as they have books. It is so rare that one encounters a business with soul and Beyond Qbookshop is a rare example of business with soul. I cannot recommend Beyond Q highly enough. A professional well run business with awesome events and soul.
A great selection of books in a charming older-world ambience. The coffee and cakes are good too.
Pros: nice place to read books and get a classic milkshake while some live band or musician plays tunes in the background. Lots of parking. Good location. Lots of book variety including lots of old classics. Friendly service. Good sweets. They help firefighters too!
Cons: At around the time of this review, their menu options could do with a serious upgrade. I won't currently recommend them for their brekky/lunch (e.g. mushrooms and toast is literally just fried button mushrooms on one piece of grain toast...). If they improve their menu, this place would be an excellent place to come for breakfast/lunch to eat and enjoy a good book. Otherwise go elsewhere to eat, but come here to chill and get a milkshake.
Such a unique book shop that has a lovely coffee shop upstairs. The coffee has been good every time that I have been there. I also like that they have small bite sized cakes that you can enjoy but not feel like it is too much.
So this was at Curtin for years and years before they had to move and I'm thrilled that they moved closer to home for me. They have a great little cafe upstairs and while we were having coffee, T2 tea and nice cakes we listened to the live music. They also have sandwiches for a light meal.
Live music was a nice surprise and the service was very quick and friendly.
The bookshop range is very eclectic as you'd expect from a second-hand bookshop, I always find something that tempts me.
