I would highly recommend the dolsot bibimbap, but the other food is also delicious. Can't go wrong eating here.
Well priced. Service is good. Ambience is fine.
The last time I dined at B-One Korean Restaurant in the city was probably 6 years ago. I’ve strolled past so many times and had been meaning to go back. After near the 100th time of passing by their advertised cheap $12 lunch specials, I finally walked in to try it out again. There were six lunch specials available Monday to Friday. The options were:
Noey Natnaree Triamkedsub
+3.5
I went there for dinner last week. The restaurant vibe was great they were turn on k-pop song. The food was great love everything except for the korean rice cake i have had better. The service was great as well
Nice unassuming Korean place located at Garema place. It's got all your classic dishes like japchae, bibimbap, fried chicken, stews, beef and pork bulgogi etc. Alcohol is available and there are also some pretty affordable lunch specials if you work nearby!
This was the pork and squid lunch set. I like going into b-one during lunch time as it's usually quiet and provide swift service. The portions are also very generous, and it always comes with a complimentary serve of sides.
Their bulgogi and mushroom hotpot is on the sweeter side (i.e they really went all out on their bulgogi marinade.)
Japchae is good, but tends to be soaked in an overdose of sesame oil.
I really like the seafood pancake. It's crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, packed with prawns and tiny mussels.
Do order what you can finish. Takeaway boxes are charged at $0.30 each.
Overall, if you're craving for Korean when in the city, try this out.
For some reason I had a craving for fried chicken. Well the precise reason was I saw the $42 fried chicken platter at Public in Manuka the night before and this had caught my daydreams. Even though I could have simply gone there, the lure of Korean FC had me searching online to see if Canberra had this available. I came across two options - a blog post with a Korean flyer and a mobile for home delivery (which after calling has now relocated to Sydney) and B-One, a place in Civic.
Went for a friend's birthday dinner, the food is quiet amazing, i loved the smoked bbq and ribs soup, very authentic
They changed new chef from Sydney, their food is more delicious than before. I like their seafood pancake and Beef Bugogi, and I think the bibimbap in their restaurant is the Best in canberra now.
Very friendly staff and awesome food! As authentic as you can get in Canberra for a Korean joint. Highly recommended.
Good food, very Korean, & great service. Usually have lunch special -bipimbap with kimchi. Had a wonderful special birthday banquet at $20 pp (Nov2012) with work colleagues, we'll book again soon, & hope it's same price.
Great service and tasty authentic Korean food. For great value ask for the lunch special for $15.
Walked past this place in mid 2011 and decided to give it a go even though it always seems pretty empty inside. The restraint is hard to find and someone always manages to get lost every time we visit. They have updated the menu and added a huge variety of dishes this year. The huge hot pots are pretty good but unfortunately there is another place in civic cbr that does my favorite soft tofu stew better and at the same price. The service is acceptable and friendly although I find the restaurant fit out a little bit clinical.
Damn fine food. Nothing else needs to said (ok, it's also BYO). I rate it
