One of my favourite lunch options. Everything is so flavoursome and tasty and they have amazing vegetarian options too. I can't go past the mixed veggies and switch between lentils or beans.
It's good value to try Ethiopian cuisine here. I like the "Wat" dishes, they stewed varieties of meat and veg and tasted nice.
Fekerte's is a very special place. Tucked away beside Makeshift on Phillip Law Street, this is the place to go for authentic Ethiopian, reasonably priced and very tasty. Takeaway only tho seating is available, it only caters to the working week crowd, so if you're in the area on a week day, it's well worth the effort.
The food was SO good! Well priced and delicious.
Clearly this small kitchen cares deeply about what they serve to their public. The gentle finesse in their use of spices results in the outcome of each and every dish to be so much greater than the sum of its parts. While they only serve 6 dishes + injera bread, what is on offer is diverse and so damn tasty. All dishes are gluten-free (except for the Injera bread), and 4/6 dishes are vegetarian. I can't think of another place in Canberra where it's so easy to get a healthy balanced meal, let alone for such a low price!!
The only negative here might be the lunch time queue, but I assure you Fekerte's is well worth being patient for. Anyway, these day we all need to learn to be more patient, and value the opportunity to stand still for 10 mins.
Great quick and easy food to go! I loved the vegan options and refreshing food in a city filled with high end, expensive dining - would recommend for lunch!
Fabulous ‘hole in the wall’ style Ethiopian Restuarant. The food selection is limited but incredibly tasty and great value. I had the Key Wat with steamed rice and it was fabulous! Very very strong recommend!!!
Food is available for either dine in or takeaway.
There is a small selection of soft drinks available as well.
