Review Fenway Public House - Canberra

Wow had a great night. Lots to pick from on the menu to suit my dietary requirements which made my night! Thank you to the kitchen. And the service was good too even with them being busy. Highly recommend Fenway to all

Dropped in for a quick bite to eat. Salt and pepper squid was tender and good. The turkey spring rolls are also up there. Great at work, but if a mismatch for an Americanised type sports bar. Appears to be a younger hang out. Would go back.

I was quietly optimistic when I saw the reviews for Fenway public house that I’d get a cool spots bar with amazing atmosphere and great gastro pub food. On arrival I was not disappointed.. Until…. we discovered that my part of 9 people was to be seated at a table for 6. Not to worry, that was fixed up by some attentive staff after a 15 minute wait. There were a bunch of spots games on the various TV’s and we were given a single tablet to order food and drinks from (awkward for 9 people). Roll forward another 15 mins and food starts coming out in such a haphazard order that I wonder if it’s hit the kitchen in completely separate orders. Sadly, not one meal.. from the steak that seemed to be entirely comprised of sinew, the the stodgy glutinous gnocchi, the tiny oily kids pizza, or the cardboard-like snitzel was worth the wait. So much so that my son and his two mates up and left to go to McDonald’s (never a favourable comparison) and I cancelled my chimichanga order for fear that it would be equally bad. Surely 1 out of the previous 8 dishes to arrive at our table might have given me confidence. My rating.. 4 for atmosphere and beer. Minus 3 for food. I hope it was an off night because there’s no excuse for getting a simple pub menu that badly wrong.

Really good, fantastic girls on the serving team :) food was delicious, but I would say that it's a bit overpriced. Love the tablet ordering system. Atmosphere is great as well, would definitely come again! Edit 01.03.22 - we enjoyed the pizzas so much last time (ordered 2 more to take home with us!) that we decided to pop back in one afternoon for another pizza and some beers. Pizza was undercooked, raw capsicum and mushroom topping with doughy crust. No napkins or share plates brought out. Probably wouldn't trust them again now! Can get better pizzas for less $$.

Can't fault the staff on the service. They were very friendly and accommodating. The food came out at a reasonable time. Looks amazing, very creative with presentation of the food. However the food was a little bit too creative. The croissant with the caramel was just too overpowering and too sweet in my opinion. Does say Asian herbs, however struggled to see the herbs. The mushroom bruschetta, would of loved to see an extra slice of toast. And the peanut brittle is delicious on its own, however it doesn't mix well with the dish in my opinion it's to sweet and overpowering for a savoury dish. Love the atmosphere of the place. however the big screen TVs for breakfast makes if feel very tavern like. Which isnt my ideal atmosphere at 7am in the morning.

OK...we only dropped in for a beer and some chicken wings but in Canberra, great chicken wings are so hard to find but folks....here they are!!!! Just amazing and for a tasting plate it was a terrific snack at 3pm for both my wife and I to enjoy with a tasty beverage. Apart from the awesome wings, the decor was fresh and spacious and I really enjoyed just sitting at the bar.

Good lunch. Fair price. Good friendly staff. Funky modern decor and nice atmosphere. A number of good little spots to sit, to have lunch for various size groups. We sat near the windows with them open. Nice and bright but out of the direct sun and breeze coming through. Pretty easy to hear each other talk. Light music behind. Parking was easy and close. Although it cost me $13 in parking fees, as I stayed 4 hrs. Having an extended long lunch, that turned into drinks. I'd definitely go again for easy dining or after work drinks
