Review Three Mothers Thai Restaurant - Canberra

Consistently great Thai food. Don't be fooled by the simple interior and quiet section of City Center. I have come back here year after year and I am always impressed. Tonight I had the seafood drunken noodles and there were several distinct flavors that make want to come back for more. The staff is very friendly and I can imagine it can get quite busy but do check their hours.

Nothing special, food took age to come even though on a pretty quiet night - the entry was so sweet like dessert that I couldn't finish a half...

I like the food and the friendly service, but it seems to open and close on a whim, with little rhyme or reason, so have a plan B for when it's closed

Duckalicious. Beautiful stir fry duck with basil and fishcake is a must! bring some mates and some wine and share a range of dishes, youll enjoy yourself! reasonable price for canberra

My boyfriend decided to order the Pad Thai after a write up in De Groots described a "mean Pad Thai". We both agreed it was pretty average, in comparison with the many others we've eaten. I decided to be adventurous an try the stir fry covered with gravy sauce. The fact neither of us had ever heard of a Thai dish should have been a warning. I received a plate of flat rice noodles, admittedly with a lot of greens, but absolutely covered with a sauce that was nothing more than congealed animal fat. Now I love a good gravy with something Luke a roast, but this was literally at least a cup, with no other spices or flavours. Blan and fatty, like bad Chinese food. I usually expect more from Thai food. Average service. Would not go back.

Delicious Pad Thai! The staff were very friendly & accommodating. Often when dining with a large group the staff will treat it you as an inconvenience that you need to serve & get out quickly, but the Three Mothers was a great place to go without being pestered.

Not worth the &9.90 lunch special. Very bland or over sauced to give flavour. Pad see yew- noodles too rubbery and glassy. Chicken oyster sauce rice- no taste and not enough chicken. Fish cakes taste like they were made with half fish- half flour. No taste, no substance. Wouldn't recommend this to a drunk Englishman! Avoid!

Great customer care. I know if you order a dish labelled spicy in a Thai restaurant that it will be spicy - but I had eaten this one before at this restaurant when I ordered the spicy chicken and veg. Last Friday, it was so spicy, it was inedible. The beef mussaman was lightly spiced and delicious, so we just ate that and were ready to chalk the chicken down to experience. As we went to pay, one of the owners came over to see why we had not eaten the chicken. We told her. She insisted, and I mean really insisted, on making it fresh for us, mild, to takeaway, with rice "I want you to be happy. Eat it for dinner tomorrow night.". <br/>This is great customer care. We'll definitely go back.
