We had dinner here in late January 2022.
The food and drinks were good - especially liked the cheeseburger sliders and the caramel popcorn sundae.
The service was extremely good. Staff were there when needed, but not otherwise.
Recommended.

We went there for our 17th wedding anniversary. Food was ok not amazing. It seems everytime we come here something goes wrong with the service. Tonight they were extremely slow and to top it off they told us we had to move tables or leave before we had finished our food. I think this is the last time we come here.

Dining as a solo traveller can often be a disappointing experience, however this was not the case at eightysix north. It was more than just a restaurant it was a Canberra experience! Seated at the kitchen bar I had a front row seat to see the skilled chefs in action and they even took the time to make sure I was comfortable and even gave me travel tips to what to see in town. The food was divine and very high quality. I will be recommending eightysix north as THE PLACE to visit to all my colleagues when visiting interstate.

Very disappointing experience. Our table had the $95pp tasting menu. At $95pp, you wouldn't expect to find yourself eating dishes that you'd get at a burger joint. Like a cheeseburger. And coleslaw. All of the food was expertly prepared, but just unworthy of the price tag. For a fine dining price like this, I would recommend just going to a fine dining restaurant and avoiding the disappointment. To top it off, the dishes came out painstakingly slow, so slow that the staff had to give us our desserts as takeaway as we had exceeded our 2 hour timeslot. Can't think of a more disappointing meal that I've had in this price range. I think you could have a good experience here doing a few dishes a la carte. But stay clear of the tasting menu.

Did tasting menu because had too many people on table to do a la carte, was nowhere near worth $95 a head.
Slider with a decent patty on white bread with 2 sauces was a highlight, nothing stood out.
Also they were very slow to serve and as they served the two dessert courses we were told they needed the table in 10 minutes....
