Generous servings and efficient service. We would recommend trying the Singapore chilli prawns and seafood fried rice.
Lovely choices of various South East Asian cuisine found here.
With closing times of 1am-2am, the safety of guards at an RSL club and lots of cuisine choices (Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Laos & Myanese/Burmese), you can definitely dine here at ease 😋
There's lots of options with food stations serving from dumplings to noodles to BBQ; it's essentially your late night food court (but also open for lunch).
Can definitely recommend the Pan-Fried Pork Buns, Braised Beef Noodle Soup and surprisingly the Black Pepper Beef with Spaghetti noodles.
The dinner was amazing, and bang for the buck. Great service and the food was just delicious.
Such a great place to visit if you’re craving a variety of Asian food. From Thai, Vietnamese to Chinese food and yum cha, they have it all. The roast crispy duck I ordered was decent but the pad see ew was delicious. The mixed bean dessert was okay (too much ice in my opinion)
All dumpling cravings.. SATISFIED! Definitely recommend visiting district 8.. the interior is amazing/comfortable. The food is also well portioned and tasty, it is family friendly and great for event dinners as they have private rooms 😊
If you want cheap, generous and different varieties of asian foods, here is where to go! Yum! They’re fresh to order and everything has so much flavour. The salads are fresh. The soup is hot (not lukewarm). The bowls are big. The price is small! I cannot fault anything about this place. We went thrice in one week because it was so good.
District 8 is a bustling food court with a wide range of dishes. There was a $10 duck a rice dish which is on every Thursday. The duck itself was incredibly crispy. The red curry duck was flavoursome and had quite a spicy kick to it.
Always love going to district 8! There’s always such great food and it’s menu is so wide the food never fails to amaze me with how wonderful it tastes
Haven't had yumcha in so long and this visit to District 8 definitely satisfied my craving. Great selection of dishes including siu mai, roasted crispy pork belly, and peking duck pancake. Food is amazing here with my favourite dish being the pan fried crispy pork bun. Service is also really good and the staff are quite attentive. Keen to return to share the deliciousness with family and friends.

My thanks to District 8 and Fairfield City Council for the invite.
My partner and I love coming here for dinner as the prices are low, portions are generous and service is quick. We like getting the SEAFOOD LAKSA has great flavours however our recent visit I found that they had made it more spicier which I didn’t quite enjoy as I can’t handle much spice, if you like spice then it is perfect for you :) The CRISPY PORK W EGG NOODLE was a hit for me, the portion was quite large and the flavours were perfect! Lastly the FRIED PORK BUNS, Our go to entree to share. Great flavours in these as well they are always hot so be careful when biting into them as the juices inside will burn you😂
Steamed ocean trout, free range chicken hot pot, pipis with noodles, salted egg lobster, abalone and pecking duck. Firstly, the venue is quite lovely, has a nice cozy vibe to it and very inviting. They have private and public dining areas that you have to reserve. I think on Tuesday you also get a discount on your bill (not too sure). Standouts were the lobster, so meaty and massive serving size. I also really enjoyed the steamed fish but it was pretty exxy (~$80) for a pretty small fish. Didn't care for the hotpot, it had this really strong bitter herbal taste that was a little unpleasant. Abalone also wasn't that great either. Overall recommend coming down to check out the space especially if you're a local.
Lots of cuisine options here - Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese etc.
I have tried a variety of their products, a few being their Seafood Laksa, Xiao Long Bao, Shrimp and Prawn Wonton, BBQ Pork Rice, Curries, Beef Noodles and more.
I recommend their seafood laksa, which is creamy and has a great balance of spice and flavour. This is probably one of my favourite laksas in Sydney, however sometimes the flavours fluctuate. My second recommendation is the Shrimp and Prawn Wonton ($9.9), accompanied by a spicy soy sauce which I use to dip everything in.
However, I do not recommend their xiao long nap. Thick wrapping and the xiao long baos never arrive hot - and they must be hot as cold soup is not fun.
A note: there's no "service" here. You order at the individual counter and grab your food when the beeper is triggered.
Within district 8, hides a Chinese seafood restaurant called the Horizon. It’s a new restaurant with great food and service!
I loved their barramundi wings stir fried with XO sauce. It was crunchy, spicy, hot and everything you wish for! Their homemade tofu was also a plus! Something unexpected when the seaweed on top added heaps of flavour!
Another top dish was the stir fried coral trout with beans. Even though it was little too salty for my liking, it was the top dish between my family. Will definitely come back!
Ever since Jenmy in Fairfield closed down I haven't been able to find another Chinese place that was just as good.
Until we visited District 8 in Cabravale.
O.M.G. I just LOVE the food here and what's even better is that they have an area that serves milk teas as well!
Ticking all of the boxes so far.
The only downside is having to pick up your food from different sections so you could be waiting 15 minutes between each meal but once you taste the food it's all forgotten about.
Also with the tea area, if you're ordering more than one thing, make sure you make it clear as I ordered two drinks and only got one. The receipt wasn't very clear so had to go back and order about.
Other than that, the drinks were super flavoursome.
Definitely one to visit!
I would love to come back to eat dinner here on Sunday night. Great interior design and not too crowded. I especially love the vegetable and pork wonton noodle soup and the roasted crispy pork belly. Would love to try other things on the menu next time. Plus they have a bar if you want to drink beer, though I only ordered a lemon lime bitter and it tasted good.
I can’t believe how long it took me to go here! Do not listen to people who say it’s not good - it is sooo good!!! Amazing dumplings and dishes to share that are all found in one strip. I loved my experience here - the food came out so quickly, all under 10 minutes. For the price the food was so worth it! $60 for all of this. I must say the only let down was the dan dan noodles but everything else I would happily eat again! Ps you don’t feel like you’re in Cabramatta/canley because the interior is stunning!!!
Amazing little Malaysian-style restaurant tucked away inside Cabra Vale Diggers Club. We tried the laksa, pad Thai and fried rice which were all delicious and cheap. My personal favourite was the pad Thai. They offer a different $10 special dish each day of the week if you're after a bargain!
Hidden Gem, district 8 was referred by a friend.
Steamed Osyter was really fresh, amazing flavors. 5/5
Deep fried Pork chop glaze with honey, was a miss, way to sweet. 2/5
Pipis was amazing, fresh and just perfectly stir fried with ginger and shallots. 4/5
Tofu was nice, topped with mushrooms. 3.5/5
The interior decor is out of this world amazing, the toilet doors are epic. We were so shocked by the amount of work and money put into designing this place
We dined at the self serve area, similar to a food court environment but more grandiose I suppose, you have your dumplings, stir fry, seafood, juice bar and bakery. There is the Horizon restaurant behind that offers a more formal dining experience.
The ordering system was pretty standard and we thought the prices were pretty cheap. We are not paying for the service so don't be shocked when you don't get your food handed to you.
We ordered a substantial amount of food between 4, the juices from the juice bar were pretty good, the young coconut was exxy at $6 otherwise the cane juice was reasonably priced
We ordered a prawn dumplings, vegetarian dumplings and pork dumplings - they were all delicious.
The fried dough didn't taste as good as the ones we have had at Chinese restaurants, I feel that it could've been crunchier.
Pork belly was perfect, crispy skin with a good layer of fat. Massaman curry was a stunner, we didn't expect for it to be so damn tasty - beef cubes were so succulent, even my 80+yo pop was able to eat it.Their seafood fried rice is a MUST!!!
Chicken satay skewers were tender and juicy. Pan fried calamari was tender too ... how do they make all these meat and seafood dishes so tender? Anyway the calamari came with a refreshing green chilli sauce, very spicy.
We were very very impressed, cabra is a fair way for us but mum said she's coming back. Instead of having substandard food In near by suburbs.
Well my mum was definitely sold. I on the other hand feel like it's a bit out of the way, but hey if I don't have to drive then then I'm good to go.
District 8 is new and I really hope that they will keep up the standard and when we return in a couple of months that it will still be as good. My parents love diggers and RSL clubs, they have had a fair share of good eats gone bad in a matter of months, so hopefully District 8 will be a place we would return to over and over
*we were kindly invited
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
+3.5
Clubs service larger numbers of diners than most Sydney restaurants but get a disproportionately small amount of media attention. Over the last few years, they’ve really been lifting their game, adding innovative and interesting food offerings right across Sydney. Sitting on the border between Canley Vale and Cabramatta, Cabra-Vale Diggers, is no exception. As part of a multi-million dollar redevelopment project that’s still underway, they’ve opened District 8. District 8 sits somewhere between a very flashy food court and a hawker-style market – with better booze and bathrooms. Take it all in with a meandering journey around the full 2000 square meters, and assess where you’d like to park – there are 600 seats to choose from. It's an assault to the senses as you stroll down their leafy green avenues, with colour, texture and lighting all used to good effect! Above your head you’ll see...
District 8 definitely offers you a culinary experience into south east Asia. With a very modern design of a food court, it offers a range of different Asian cuisines and there’s a bar as well! The foods tasted today were pleasing, however, slightly more expensive than what you find in the hustle and bustle of Cabramatta itself.
Dishes are of larger size and cheap in Sydney standard in 2022. You have to collect the food now with a beeper so serving speed is decent. Quality is good and tasty.
Tried every dumpling on their menu. Really tasty :) favourites were har gau & pork and chive (steamed).
They also make their own bubble tea and smoothies and juices. Lychee and rose was super tasty!
Have been several times now. Delicious and consistent Chinese roast meats each time. Thank you :)
Good Asian food hall inside the Cabra-Vale Diggers Club. Good food quality and varieties at affordable prices.
