Review Casa Del' Amici - Canning Vale

Dan Lonick
Friendly service, food came out quickly. First thought seeing the menu it was maybe $8-10 per plate over price but NO... I take that back! It is absolutely worth it for sure! I wrongly assumed this was a regular food place. I had no idea of the increadible quality I was about to receive. The food is freshly prepared, seasonal & fresh vegetables generously filling the plate with colour & flavour. I found this place by accident, thought to just grab something to eat while waiting to go meet up with someone but now I want to go back there with a group of friends. I added a photo here yo show you. I highly recommend Casa del' Amici to anyone who enjoys great food.

My new favourite restaurant. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Food is amazing, so fresh and tasty. It was fairly busy when we got there however we were seated straight away and food came out very quickly. Highly recommend

Food was so good and yummy Good atmosphere and great service from staff.

We have been loyal customers for years, until recently when I discovered how bad the customer service is when you are overcharged and get delivered cold food that was meant to be a pickup (yep we had to drive home to get our food). This occurred at the beginning of June, I emailed them a few times every few weeks (in case it had gone to spam), called them a couple of times to which they said they'd reply to it after confirming the correct email address, weeks later still nothing, tried calling again with no answer or return of my friendly voicemails, even tried SMSing the numbers on their website and now they have lost our business. I heard that the owner believes customer service is important but clearly nothing gets passed on to management even when you ask to speak to a Manager, they do nothing about it.

Food was great. Waited for over an hour between entree and main. Even then a fish dish came 15 min later. Tiny glass of wine way too expensive at $10.50. 3 mouth fulls. Luckily the good mafe up for it. Service needs ramping up.

Lovely local restaurant with fantastic menu and food! Had the carbonara, which was delicious, but all the good we ordered was well presented and liked by everyone. Well worth a visit. Busy place but it was easy to hear everyone talking, which is important for the socialising!! 😄

Lovely friendly staff , felt very welcome, food was tasty good . Would be 5 stars except niece chose the restaurant for her 16th birthday because of there yummy mocktails but they weren't making them that night so She was devastated. Other wise very happy , 8 happy customers

Ordered two dishes and was given the pizza on arrival to only wait another 25 mins while they made the other dish. Pizza was cold and not enjoyable, Uber eats are affecting the time and quality of some customers orders.

I’m writing this review on my friend’s facebook account since I don’t have facebook. I went to the restaurant tonight with my family to celebrate my brothers birthday and was disappointed with the poor customer service. We ordered the mussels, spaghetti marinara, a kids pasta, a margherita pizza and a calzone. The meals had come but the pizza and the calzone were missing. After waiting a while, we had asked one of the waitresses to check on the pizza and calzone for us. After not following up with us, we asked 2 other waitresses to check, which they both said they would but again not getting a follow up. After asking again, one of the waitresses finally did check and told us that the pizza chef had a lot of orders. We were very aware and understanding that the restaurant was busy however other tables that came after us, received their pizzas first. After telling the waitress that, she finally came back and said that there was a mishap with our docket and that the pizza chef had just seen it. We were very disappointed to hear this, as we had asked multiple times about it beforehand. When we finally received the pizza and calzone, the margherita pizza had bacon on it, which was very disappointing again as i am vegetarian. I asked the waitress if she would let the chef know. After not getting a follow up, I asked if she had checked with the chef to which she just replied he “apologises”. I was very disappointed as I felt like the staff did not have the customer’s best interest at heart. To top it all off, as we went to pay, the chefs were arguing in front of us, which we thought was very unprofessional. Finally to end our unpleasant experience, there was no compensation for their mistakes. We had dined with this restaurant a few other times and they had been fine. However tonight was just not acceptable. We understood that they were busy and mistakes do happen, we were just disappointed that the staff did not seem to care about making our experience a good one.

Great pizza ďż˝ even the kids said this is the best pizza ever!!! Great kids deals too!!! pasta was full of flavour and big servings , Great drink menu recommend the bottle of kissing booth, staff very accomodating , venue full of atmosphere , plenty of options soooo yummy we left very full definitely be back rosa is great owner

Have been here many times under the previous owners. In particular the original owner. Have to say wasn't really impressed with tonight's meal. Both mine and my friends dishes were just luke warm. My pork belly was over cooked - dry. Crackle was burnt. The other two people had pasta dishes. For an Italian restaurant not to use the real fresh Parmesan cheese was really disappointing. Dry stuff in a jar, not good.

We waited for nearly an hour what I could have made in 10 minutes at home. I ordered gnocchi which was clearly a packet job and my partner ordered pasta. Food was nice but not nice enough to be charged over $20 per meal. The staff were young and inexperienced on customer service. Won’t go back again.

Absolutely love this place. The Alla Vodka is amazing ďż˝ and the staff great. Definitely a favourite and recommend to anyone who loves Italian food ďż˝

Ordered 5 different sweets to be delivered by Uber eats .. Biggest waste of $60 ... The Sticky date pudding was dry the slice was in pieces and come with no sauce ... The chocolate pudding was dry and tasteless it was like eating cardboard and once again no sauce..The tiramisu wasn’t set and was a runny mess and had hardly any cake/ biscuit in it.. The chocolate mouse was ok but nothing special, and the cannoli was probably the best out of it all but for $10 a serve you’d think you’d get more than one small cannoli.. We also ask if we could have cream .It came in 5 little containers , we got a teaspoon of cream in each.. hardly worth it... Did ring and speak to owner/ manager but she wasn’t really concerned and she did promise a phone call back to discuss it the next day but she hasn’t bothered. Don’t think we will be ordering from them anytime soon..

Went there for dinner last night...... my goodness! I really enjoyed the food and the service was amazing!!! The owner, she was absolutely lovely and the wait staff we sooooo friendly and helpful, especially when helping me choose a good drink ďż˝

Brilliant pizza, lovely fresh ingredients and delicious base

Bruschetta is nice, with the addition of extra salt. Quite pricey for what is offered, and portions are inconsistent with ordering (sometimes 4 pieces, sometimes 2 etc). Greek salad was pretty poor, mostly lettuce, dressing tasted a bit off. Had celery which was a surprise, and also weird. Stupidly expensive for a bowl of lettuce realistically

Just came to this restaurant and I’m horribly offended. Walked in to the restaurant and had to stand around waiting, with no one coming up to show us to a table. Had to approach a staff to actually get sat down and she made it sound so difficult to give us a table because the place was ‘booked’ (this was 8pm and all tables were empty, no one came after). Ordered the chicken parma and the chicken was beaten and flattened to crap. What’s worse were the chilli mussels. If anyone is to eat there, I highly advise against the mussels.

When the mussels got to the table, my partner and I immediately caught a whiff of an off putting smell. I’m not usually picky with food, but if something is actually noxious to the point of triggering nausea, it’s a big red flag. Approached two staff members to smell it and they both claimed that the mussels were freshly cleaned today, further adding that the chef reported it was totally normal for mussels to smell that way. Didn’t pursue the issue any further because they were clearly stuck in their own heads, but my stomach did feel off after. Needless to say, a bulk of the mussels went untouched. This was noticed by the staff when we footed the bill but they remained silent about it. I’m no food critic, nor am I a food connoisseur, but I would certainly not have the guts to serve that bowl of mussels if I worked there. To serve a bowl of mussels that smelled that bad and dismiss concerns about it, that’s appalling. It’s no doubt the worst dining experience I’ve had.

Pasta was fine, but will certainly not be returning. I apologise to those who think this is harsh, I sincerely hope that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

We had a family lunch for Mother’s Day, table of 5 Adults and 5 children.. The staff are fantastic so attentive as friendly.. Food was amazing, everyone loved their meals.. We will definitely be going back..

Very poor customer service! Food that I received was oily and overpriced. There are better places to eat as this place has gone down hill in a major way.
Zach
I have dined here several time and it's always been great. Last night we went to celebrate a birthday. The food was disappointing oily and tasteless. We had 3 different waitresses and no one knew what was going on. Waited 1hr 30 minutes for our main meal and like I said it was disappointing. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone. Sorry

This busy cafe came recommended so we went to have dinner here on a Friday night. Our meals came out quickly and were a good portion size. Pretty standard fare, decent quality without being anything special. The desserts were a mixed bag - the housemade desserts were thoroughly enjoyed, but the cheesecake (probably bought in) was inedible. For $10 we expected a slice of cheesecake, not a wedge of rubber! It tasted like it had only a passing acquaintance with cream cheese and instead was bulked out with cream and buckets of gelatine. Disappointingly, service staff did not come to check our table at all or to ask why a customer had left 75% of their dessert on their plate when everyone else had finished. It's very possible that there were not enough staff to offer better service on a busy night, certainly it was noted that most of the staff did not smile and basically dumped the food at the table before rushing off again. Overall, a very average experience.

This place is a bit hit and miss. The pastas are great as are the pizzas but could be improved.
The music should be changed to something other than 92.9s hottest 100.
The waitresses are excellent, however the owner/manager needs to change from wearing a mini skirt to something a bit more professional!!
Get rid of the Uber bags hanging from the ceiling
OnePointFive
One of my friends highly recommended CDA, she said they do really2 good pasta. So we had dinner there. To be honest, their food were just okay, not the best pasta for sure. Similar taste like their sister restaurant Catalano’s in VicPark. They’re busy hence service was lacking.

A real let down, i asked waitress to change or confirm menu items, when ordering
There was one mistake after another when food arrived and manager was rude, when trying to get the items the way we wanted and we assured we could have them at time of initial order
The waitress denied our food requests were ordered.
And although owner tried helping at the end, its let a really sour note on our experience
Cant see a return visit
Juan Van Litsenborgh
Took an hour to prepare a single salad and pizza. The salad was extremely salty. Staff were too busy and kitchen was overworked from uber eats orders. Not worth the premium price point. The pizza was good in the end and they did discount our bill. Unfortunately it is not the first time weve had to wait a long time at this resturant.

I pass the restaurant every day going to work and my daughter and I thought we'd give it a go. The ambiance is relaxed and felt more cafÊ style than restaurant, with the front part of the restaurant feeling a little cluttered, and the tables a little too tight together. I ended up facing the kitchen and very near to the general thoroughfare which had it been busier may have meant my getting bumped into as people passed by. Taking our order was a little on the slow side but staff were pleasant. The Pizza Pane with dips was excellent to start with and one pizza was enough for the two of us to share as a starter. For mains, we chose pasta and you can chose which type of pasta you would like. On checking if one dish contained cheese in the sauce, the waitress had no hesitation in going to check for us, coming back saying that it did but the chef would happily make it without. The food arrived piping hot and was very enjoyable. A Shared Pizza/dip starter, 2 pasta dishes and 3 glasses of wine came to $97. The portions were generous and what wasn't eaten was boxed for us to take home. We'd certainly visit again.

Wonderful meal. The service was beyond reproach warm and attentive even though busy. The meals were more than ample everybody took some home for lunch the next day. Reasonably priced for the serving size This comes with the highest recommendation and will be a regular when in the area.

This is our local italian. We went there for the last time last week. The food seems rather expensive for what is production line fare and the service is woeful. The female wait staff are in a terrible hurry to get you to order, but then once you have, no one comes near you. Good luck with ordering dessert! Two of the females, one is the owner, insist on calling you LUV which is very rude. They cram the tables in so tight getting to the toilet is like going thru a maze. Room is so sparse I was hit on the head by one of the waitresses as she went past. This used to be owned by a lovely couple who actually took the time to speak to you. We will not be back.
Karin Yang
Felt very rushed while having dinner. 1 particular waitress was just serving us like a routine job rather than showing much passion. the lamb ribs were way too sweet. the pasta was bland. the pizza was slightly better. will not return.
Alvin Tan
Paid $33.00 for garlic prawns takeaway... Works out to be $3.30 a prawn and a free piece of lemon and a side of salad.. Taste is average. And this is a main..
Amelia
I think their pizzas are pretty good but they are lacking in toppings. Their crust is nice and crispy (especially when it's fresh) but I feel like that's mostly what you are paying for, the toppings aren't really much and they seem to put a very thin layer of sauce. The pizza is quite expensive too and I find that although they have a $15 deal every Tuesday's, they put less toppings compared to buying it every other day. Overall their pizza is nice but I feel like they could be a bit more generous with the amount of sauce and toppings they put in the pizza. Their chicken

Unfortunately for us it was over priced and poor quality food. How on earth do they justify $28 for a basic pasta dish that is no better than what an average home cook can knock up with a jar of ready made supermarket sauce. Gluggy sauce covered pasta with a stingy amount of prawns and other bits and pieces. The Dome across the road serves better meals for less. Not going back to Casa Del Amici.

While the entree, desserts and pizza remains fantastic everything else has gone downhill within the last few months. I recently went with 3 others on a Saturday night, our table wasn't ready at our booking time so we had to wait 15 minutes, which was fine. We eventually got seated and had to wait another half an hour before someone came to take our order. A simple order of 4 drinks took half an hour (beer/spirits) and the waitress was rude, short and didn't make us feel welcome at all. We had our entrees an hour after sitting down, and food 15 minutes after then(we were still eating entrees when mains were coming). The pastas were pathetic, with barely any prawn and chicken looked so terrible the second waitress had no idea what it was and actually said 'oh sorry, it usually looks better than this'. I understand sometimes it gets busy but by the lack of care and service from the first waitress was awful, and after discussing with the owner the only thing that was said 'yes we have had a few complaints about her.' Although the owner was appreciative of the feedback we still spent quite a bit for crappy service and less than average food that took way too long. It's disappointing as previously this place was great! I definitely will not be going again unless there is a change of management and chef.

I have been eating regularly at this restaurant for over one year, the quality is consistant the standards excellent the owner Rosa prvides exellent service, wouldnt go anywhere else, do your self a favour :)

Very very dissatisfied!!! Sitting on top of everyone else staff rude no atmosphere 😔 order home made gnocchi..... extra $3 San Remo from woollies taste better oh wait I only had one bit but cause it was in so much oil it was swimming! Told staff got told that's the way we serve do you want if takeaway..... said no I don't want takeaway, got told you have to pay either way! Plus to top it off 2 diners 2 dishes but couldn't come out together waited 3 minutes for other main..... get it together

I've only been here once, and the food was amazing! A small place but very welcoming and friendly! I will definitely come back again. Thank you

Just had take away. The pizza was okay. Pasta was terrible and over priced. Heard good reviews but Won't go back there again very disappointed.

Not even deserving of one star. We had a table of 10 with 2 children. We all ordered drinks and promptly ordered entrees. As entrees started arriving we ordered mains as they were busy so we thought this would be plenty of time. We asked for both of the meals for the children to be brought out whenever they were cooked as they were getting tired and couldn't wait. Our empty entree plates sat on the table for quite some time before any of the mains came out. First was the 2 steaks surf and turf. One rare and one medium. Both over cooked and served without sauces which were requested. We asked 3 staff members for the sauces before they were brought to the table by which time the meals were cold. The other meals trickled out but no sign of the meals for the kids. We asked again to two different staff with the same reply. It was getting close to one hour after ordering and one child was still waiting for his pizza along with 2 adults also waiting on pizzas. Over an hour after ordering the pizzas finally arrived. Very light on the toppings, very salty and by no means worth the wait. We asked for the bill and rather than getting our bill we had dessert menus brought out. Some of our party ordered dessert and again we asked for the bill. It took nearly half an hour just to get the bill. We arrived at 5:30pm and most of our party was still there at 9pm. Very disappointed and will not be returning. Certainly not worth the $565 we sadly paid. Food and service very poor. Sorry but you've lost 10 future customers!

Great service and delicious food. Canoli was to die for... Really good option for the southern suburbs.......................................
Vego-gem
I should preface this by saying I've only ever had the pizza here - so this review is all about the pizza. They are delicious! And we've tested them out plenty of times, so we should know. The ingredients are good, and the dough is also tasty. The staff is really friendly and are happy to change ingredients on the pizzas (e.g. to make them vegetarian - therefore giving heaps of vego options). Even when the restaurant is packed the food doesn't take long to arrive. On Tuesdays the pizzas are $15 and so, so worth it! The cocktails are also pretty great for $10 on special nights. Highly recommend checking it out.
Julie
Absolutely amazing food and service 😁 will be coming back for sure. Restaurant was so busy but dishes were still brought out in record time. Food tasted so good.
This place has had a facelift (and a change in ownership?) since we were last there, and it's improved a lot. Delicious food, with lots of options, quick and friendly service. We'll visit more often, now!! 😀

Went for a family meal yesterday and was very impressed with the food, service and atmosphere! Since the new owners took over in May, the food has really improved. Its hard to find a good italian restaurant in Perth in my opinion as alot of the times I find the food to be bland and we came here a few years ago when it was still the old owners and it was not great. But yesterdays meal was top notch, tasty, flavoursome, good quality homemade italian food! Will be spreading the word to family and friends and will be going back soon!!!
Chiara
A fantastic restaurant with amazing food, staff and service. Our entrees, mains and desserts were all delicious along with the cocktails! Highly recommend Casa del' Amici for a great night out and fabulous food.
Foodie In Paradise
Came here for the first time for a friend's birthday dinner on a Saturday evening and this restaurant was packed. The food was alright but not the best. Service was great and food came out pretty quickly even though it was busy. Food portion size was big.

We booked several weeks in advance as we had a huge family dinner planned. With 19 Adults 1 toddler and 1 baby. We were doing a surprise double birthday dinner. From the beginning i dealt with Rosa, she was so accommodating. We were able to bring in balloons and a cake (which they kept cooled for us) and bought out with candles burning brightly to us singing happy birthday. We also changed the table set up to suit. Just fantastic service. All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Cocktails were soooooo yummy ! The entrees were perfect ! And the mains were just beautifully presented and tasted absolutely amazing. The menu catered for our vegetarian and gluten free family members too!

This was a perfect family evening thanks to these wonderful people. Thank you so very much. I would highly recommend Casa del' Amici. We will definitely be back !! Oh and the Creamy Garlic Prawns are just to die for !!! YUMMMY. Thanks again Rosa and Chris, you made our night a memorable one !

THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Great big portions for what you pay! Great quality home made Italian recipes and food! They cater to anyone's needs! And the service is impeccable! And I'm going to visit again and again! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Visited on a Friday night and luckily we had a booking (for 4) as the restaurant didn't have a spare seat. The $10 cocktails seem to be a real draw card and the personal service of the bar staff made the experience more enjoyable! Chose the risotto of the day, explained by one staff member that it was chicken but when I came to order, that was actually last weeks special and it was completely different. Decided to still go with it but it was a little disappointing. The other 3 meals were thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely go back.

A great little community restaurant that serves up really generous portions at very good value. We had antipasto platters for entree with a great selection of meats and marinated vegetables and olives. Each platter easily served five people. The Main courses that I tasted were quite rich - creamy with lots of cheese, but there were a number of alternatives on the menu. The wait staff were attentive - great service.
Missy
Personally I found the prices a bit steep & the tables far too close together to be comfortable. My table however enjoyed their pasta dishes thoroughly! The lasagne & risotto was ok but wish we'd tried something else instead.
Unsure if we would return here at this point, being asked if we would like coffee/dessert 5 times is a bit much! However I know this is a new business wait staff will improve with time.

Bloody fantastic Italian Food at its best Lisa had the Veal Schnitzel and I had the Pasta Carciofi and we were both once again blown away👍. These guys deserve your support or we may miss them if they go😈
Julie Hardaker
Nice little restaurant hats off to them no background music so we could have conversations between 9 of us. Staff very pleasant, service good. Chicken breast with garlic prawns, chicken overcooked and tough but otherwise OK came with salad and chips. Beef cheeks very good, pasta so hot (maybe microwaved) it burnt your mouth! Garlic bread needs a makeover, pretty basic. Crème Brule yummy! Very enjoyable night, however prices are a bit steep.
InMyFaceHole
Have tried a few things off the menu at this little Canning Vale gem and am yet to have a bad meal. Tonight I tried the vego pizza with a size of garlic bread. Both were tasty. The prices can be a little steep IMO but it is good quality true Italian grub. Thumbs up!

Love this place, have been many times over the years, most recently on New Year's Eve! The staff are so great, can have a conversation with them but they provide top service too! Food is lovely have tried pork belly, veal and chicken most recently!
Spk
Pizzas are great here, pastas tend to be a little bland. There's always a crowd here and I didn't really understand why (when I had my bland pasta) but I decided to give it another go and had a wood fired pizza which was rather delish 😊
Em
Awesome food. I got the Lamb shank and it was to die for!! the meat just fell away and melted in your mouth. The only area that needed improvement is that we ordered tap water to drink and had to ask several time for it, even after our meals had arrived. A very small improvement, will definitely be back

Arrived as walk in patrons and were immediately greeted in a warm inviting fashion despite the lack of a booking ( lunch Sunday) .
The service here is so good it borders on over bearing and I mean that in the nicest possible way.
We began with a tasting plate for two which reflected an abundance of textures and tastes and was well received by both of us.
For mains I had the garlic prawn dish ( who's name eludes me ) and the lady had the calamari dish.
Both were served with chips and a lovely salad and the servings were large and cooked to perfection.
I cannot possibly fault the personal service or the food.
The pricing was a tad to the high end but everything else made up for that.
I would recommend this place to anyone.
Jess
Loved the food - both my pasta dish and dessert were incredible!! The service was great but for reasons beyond my understanding, we were charged for bottles of water? Its tap water - easy to refill a bottle? I couldn't fault the rest but some explanation behind the water charge would have been great. But was a great night regardless

Casa del sleepy. A night out with friends to their local trusty Italian restaurant.

It seemed a nice idea, conversation flowed while we ordered and drinks came quickly. That's where it stopped, service, cooking and all it seems.

EntrĂŠes were served with a noticeable gap in timings at our table. I had the calamari, my partner the bruschetta tasty and well cooked.

The table was cleared sometime later then a incredibly long 1 hour wait for our mains. We asked about the meals, they're on the way.

Nothing

15 mins later we ask the cashier who then tells me that it is busy, they have to feed everyone and we already had entrĂŠes. I was told that we weren't forgotten and it would be 2 mins just trust her. I dragged a sorry out of her.

Seeing her go into the kitchen we believed her. Nope another 10 minutes and I see the wait staff avoiding us and whispering between them.

The meals came out but no cutlery, staff were busy with others until I called out to one. The meals were ok but lacked any real flavour.

Disgruntled that no one looked after us, no one acknowledged our wait time until my partner had strong words with the cashier and complimentary dessert plus a discount given.

I have no problems with busy restaurants, no problems when mistakes are made AS long as hey admitt it and rectify it.

Restaurants are about food and service I'm sorry but not going to hurry back. The food was so so and for the long long wait 2.5 hours from ordering entrĂŠes and mains together it ruined the evening.

At 630pm on a Saturday night it should've been much better

Service is excellent. Pizzas are what we order each time as they are delicious. Haven't tried any main dishes since the new owners took over. Take away is a good option as the restaurant can get quite busy at times.

I was recommended to eat here as i live in canningvale. The service was great however the food was taste-less and bland. I had the chicken fettuccine and my girlfriend had the seafood pasta. We both agreed there was no taste to the food. Very disappointed. Was going to order the arrancinni of the day but soon realised you only get 3 small balls for $16.50...

We had 2 pasta dishes and an apple cider to share. Total bill $67!!!

Would never go back there. Such a shame because it is so close to home!

It was so busy when we were there. I dont see why it is so popular??

The pizzas were great. Miss the lamb shanks by the previous owner. Please chew properly and look through your food before eating as you never know what extra things might be inside.

Used to be amazing - loved this place. But has really really gone down in terms of food lately.

What used to be a once a fortnight or so visit for us, has now not been visited in over 6-8 months. Disappointing.

Casa del amici. Went with three friends last night - first time with the new owners and all enjoyed our meals. Christian and Ian waited on us and did a great job. Even though getting late and we were the last ones there they still happily served us coffee and told us not to rush and enjoy our evening. Definitely going back
Clayton Gunning
A little expensive for the suburbs but quality food and good portion sizes. Service is excellent with a quick greeting from the Chef. Pleased to recommend.

This used to be the best restaurant in the area, a really nice dinning experience - but I am sad to advise I will never visit again. We were rushed from the minute we arrived - asked if we were ready to order within only minutes of sitting down, we had hardly had time to poor our drinks into the glass when the waiter was trying to take our half full bottles away! But the worse of all was the sub standard meals of hardly cafe quality, you would be better served eating at the pub across the road.
Jerry Chuen
Food was under average. I had the Marinara and it was the worst Marinara i've ever eaten. Pasta was dry and blend. I will never go there again.Service from the waiters were good but not from the lady at the cashier, who is the boss I presumed.
Snachel
Casa del amici. I enjoyed the fish but by the time it came out I was too hungry to enjoy it properly

Finally new owners!! Love it. The old owner was horrible. Food portions have increased awesome customer service and I even get a side salad with my steak which I didn't get with the old owner. I had to pay for it!!

Will come again

All Good things come to an end. Well all good things it seems must come to an end. I was a regular at this restaurant when Carlo & Ernesto still owned it. It was always a reliable dining experience. The superb cuisine created by Ernesto in the Kitchen and the Dynamic personality of Carlo out front was a winning combination. But sad to say the new owners have very quickly undermined the restaurants great reputation. They are trying to make a quick buck by jamming in as many people as they possibly can & then providing food that resembles fried cardboard, charging way too much and then adding insult to injury by using incredibly poor service staff that lack even the most basic of hospitality skills. You may think that maybe I caught them having an off night, well I thought that too so I gave them a second chance and came back a second time just to be further insulted by standards that McDonalds wouldn't allow.

When this restraunt first came to Canning Vale it was perfect and I barely heard bad reviews from anyone! Now the buzz of the place has worn off, which is really unfortunate. Dined here last night and found the food to be pretty average at a not so average price. The staff however were very attentive and service was quick, which was great. The quality of the food has seemed to have decreased since the last time I dined here a year or so ago.

Last night we went to Casa del Amici with the family. We all ordered different plates and each one was delicious - the pasta marinara was al dente and the fish firm, the barramundi was moist and full of flavour, there were many varieties of deserts to chose from catering for every palate - we had a great night and would highly recommend it.

Owners with a terrible attitude. Was looking forward to a family meal at this local, was very disgusted and outraged at the attitude of the staff. All by one young girl, they were rude, swearing and very unfriendly. The food was ok/average but we were so put off by their manners we made a short night of it. I think they need to work on their customer service and watch how they talk to the other staff, as it was very disrespectful. I think they have bitten off more than they can chew with taking on this place, management was just awful. Would never recommend, no surprise they can't get any one to work for them!

My NEW favourite place in Perth. Ok Im going to say it...this place is amazing! possible Perths best kept secret. I could write a lengthy review on how amazing the food was but you just need to head down there and try it. The pastas were absolutely amazing! I brought my Italian friends here and they couldn't believe how great it was, some even saying it was better than their own family dinners. Pizza is great and a fantastic starter. The new owners are brilliant and very experienced! You HAVE to get down here asap, it gets very busy!

Incredible meal! I will be coming back for more!. We recently went back to Casa del amici after a few months of being away. Having realized that it was under new ownership, I was keen to try the new fare. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The place was pumping which was great. The new owners are lovely and very experienced. We enjoyed EVERY inch of the meal. The new menu is FANTASTIC!
Pizza was beautiful as always, a few changed but just beautiful and very authentic. My wife had the beef cheeks which were melt in your mouth good. I had the pork belly which was incredible. Desserts were fresh and the home made tiramisu was better than the one I had in Italy!!!! Now that is saying something! I will be going back for more, and more and more! Having now been a few times with the kids, it is definitely up there as one of Perth's best kept secrets...maybe not for long

Yep new owners, food tastes different, very mushy gnocchi and found a piece of metal on it (kid u not), pizza and calamari tastes ok though, promised free profiterole but ended up getting charged anyway :( c'mon guys be better next time, with the food price i'd expect something more.

Went here this evening with my son and his girlfriend for the first time. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered arancini and garlic bread to start. I had the beef cheeks for main which were amazingly tender. My only criticism is that none of the meals were hot and my broccolini was raw. Other than that the atmosphere was nice and they were quite busy for mid week. Extensive menu with generous serves. Give it a go.

Peter at Huntingdale. Unfortunately changed hands and changed the menu. However, a Portofino pizza doesn't change. Poor form guys to change it from prawns, mushrooms and bacon on a tomato base. I didn't want a pizza with tomato and chilli and no bacon and no mushroom! That's like taking the ham and pineapple off a Hawiian pizza and adding chicken and avocado and still have the balls to call it a Hawiian. Very disappointed and will never be back.

Great Food. We went to Casa Del Amici as we live local and hadn't tried it as yet, and we weren't disappointed. From the moment we entered we were welcomed and seated and the service was great. I had the pork belly and my wife went with the fish with our munchkin opting for the kids spaghetti bolognaise.
All our meals were delicious and the kids spaghetti was such a generous serving that our daughter couldn't finish but the waiter kindly paced it in a take home pack for her!
This place fills up very quickly so be warned that a booking is a must !!

Disappointing. We have regularly gone to Casa Del Amici over the years, and always had exceptional food with Carlo. However, we went last Wednesday, and found the new owners there. I explained about my gluten, dairy intolerance and also my allergy to prawns. They could only offer a grilled fish and green salad as I was told there was nothing else I could have. My husband ordered a seafood marinara. We waited over 1/2 hour for our food, when it arrived my fish had a prawn on it!! So of course had to go back! My husbands was bland, no seasoning. He had nearly finished before my new one arrived, unfortunately it was overcooked and unseasoned. Dreadfully disappointed, don't think we will be going back!
Christine

Awful food. Went their for lunch for a 60th birthday and spent up big. Wouldn't have minded but the food was awful. Italian sausage couldn't be chewed. Eye fillet Steak was tough. Pink snapper supposedly fresh was dry as a bone and tasteless. Overall not a good experience very disappointing

Has been awesome... but times are a changing. Have really enjoyed the great food and awesome culture for the past couple of years.

First week with new management; new menu, different music. talked to the new owner, long story short i some how insulting the pizza chef. sorry pizza man I do enjoy your food :(

Really good Italian food. Was lucky enough to be taken for business dinner. Attention from staff was efficient and very courteous with a dash of good humour. (Sadly lacking in a lot of establishments these days!)
Food was sensational. All three of us elected to take up the specials - fish dishes. They were presented simply and not overworked. A couple of side dishes complimented the mains and these also were simple and authentic.
Well worth a visit but prices aren't on the cheap side!

I ate here last week with a friend (full disclosure, the friend knows the owner), and was really impressed! The food was better than the standard fare, and was far more traditionally Italian than so many other "Italian" restaurants.

The service was very friendly and attentive.

Plenty on the menu to choose from (a challenge picking just a few!) and all our dishes were delicious and well presented. Sample size of the mains was more than ample, and I eat a lot.

Skipped dessert (wasn't easy) and settled on a coffee - finally, somewhere that can serve a hot and tasty coffee in a mug! Coffee was fantastic.

Although not close to me, I'll be returning.

Lost my patronage. Was there about 2 weeks ago with an overseas friend and family. It is my local italian restaurant so thought i give it a try. I will say that I won't ever come back again. We had pizzas and pastas. The 2 pizzas we ordered had crusts so hard it was like biting into biscuits. The pastas we ordered had very little sauces in them, unlike most of the other italian restaurants we've tried before. When it came time to pay, I asked the man at the cashier counter about the lack of sauces in our pastas. Man, worst mistake ever made! He started ranting angrily about how they are not like ciao italia who doesn't really cook authentic italian dishes cos' true italian cooking doesn't have a lot of sauces in the pastas. He ranted about how we don't know anything about italian cooking. I was only asking about the lack of sauces not there for a lecture. He definitely displayed very poor attitude. I have eaten at ciao italia a few times and i never once seen any of them behave like that towards customers. They actually explain it to you when you ask them about the food. My last word is that even though Amici is local, I would rather drive to South Perth and have a great and comfortable meal at ciao italia.

We have been several times and found the place ok but since they have expanded the premises the size of serves have gone way down while the prices have gone way up. We took two friends for there wedding anniversRy and they were both disappointed . After eating we went home and had cheese on toast to fill us up, don't think we will be back

Always lovely food, can sometimes take a while for orders and prices can be on the high side I feel but they are always busy so the prices must be worth it.

Happy Locals. We keep coming back, we love the place. Great food and great staff led beautifully by Carlo.

This place has potential to be amazing, but I just find that when it comes to mains and you don't want pasta or pizza, your options are limited and the portions too small for the prices you're paying. You have a heap of Italian restaurants in Vic Park with similar prices and at least double the portion size! The staff are attentive, even when the place is packed. I can see the potential this place has to be amazing with a few small changes!

Italian out in the Vale. Went for dinner lastnight - mrs had the chicken fettuccine she said it was amazing, I tried it and through it was relatively okay thought the sauce was a little bit bland for my liking but as I said my mrs loved it and the serving was huge! - I had the gnocchi and thought it was delicious some of the best I've had - I think it was flash fried so the outer skin was crispy with the nice soft inside that fell apart in your mouth and very well complimented with the pumpkin mash, ricotta and pancetta flakes - my only dislike is there probably wasn't enough for what you paid which was form memory $25 - for dessert we had the dessert pizza which was a hazlenut chocolate spread as the base with thin slices of banana with butterscotch sauce drizzled over and a nice scoop of vanilla bean icecream and a sprinkle of powdered sugar for good measure - the dessert pizza was delicious I just wish it was a bit hotter but apart from that was lovely! - the service was lovely and the food came out super fast which is always a positive - I guess overall the prices might be a bit high for an italian place out in the burbs and would prefer if the generic italian background music was turned down a touch more as it was quite loud at the time - really good experience and will probably go back in the future! :)

Casa del amazing. Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Perth. Carlo and his team got it right, again!

Fabulous in every way Food .... Fabulous in every way
Food service price and ambience top marks
Recommend the calamari and homemade Italian sausages
Girl_racer
The service is quite friendly but the food was average. I had fish and a tiger prawn; the shell was on the prawn which had been butterflied so it was difficult to deshell. I don't think $34 for a piece of fish and a prawn is reasonable in the suburbs. My friend had a pasta dish and it looked dry and she said it was cold. Another friend had a margarita pizza and she said it was good.

Flawless. I eat here all the time and love it more and more every time I go. the food is incredible and the staff are welcoming and attentive. I love this restaurant and could not recommend it higher.

Why did you get rid of the Ragu??? That was your best dish. And you've reduced the amount of pasta?

Such a shame :(

Lost Soul- new Owners. Casa del Amici is under new owners. We were greeted pleasantly after a few minutes but without a smile. We were then shown to a table near the front with plastic chairs unlike the rest of the big comfy chairs on offer throughout the rest of the establishment. We had booked two weeks prior and so were somewhat shocked. Even more disappointing was there was no apology. We have been coming here for 9 years, granted under the previous owners.
The food was delicious. No visit from the maĂŽtre d' except when it was dessert time. Chose not to bother with dessert. The restaurants life has been taken with the old owners, they were the life blood, the restaurant oozed their personality. This now has none. Disappointing

-----24 Jan, 2014-----

Our Local Favourite. The renovations are now complete with a fantastic looking bar area. The new section affords a more intimate setting for couples away from the noisy party tables.
The menu has changed a little, my Arrabiata was made with minced meat and not the previous diced Italian sausage, and not as fiery, a little disappointing for me but we must embrace change. Profiteroles now come filled with Mascarpone and served with espresso icecream. Oysters natural served with balsamic and oo. Bug and prawn spaghetti excellent again.
The service, as always, the highlight of this restaurant. Another booking made for a fortnights time.

Overpriced and really disappointing meal. This place seems to have really gone downhill. ordered the lamb dish for 30. the portions were tiny - i got three pieces of lamb offcuts... I mean bones with tiny bits of meat and lots of fat. maybe if they were tasty that would make up for it but plain lamb on the bbq would have been better. won't be coming back
Christina Louise
Yummy pizza and pasta. Great value and around the corner so its easy for a quick delicious meal. Also glad to hear they are expanding the restaurant space. Will be more comfortable but always a good experience. Owner and staff friendly and good service!!

Ok but over priced. We visited on the weekend and while the food was ok we found it over priced for what it was. Would I rush back? May be not.

So little competition, so much potential but fails to hit the mark. Ordinary Italian food at inflated prices. Dessert menu looks particularly inviting but just disappoints esp the tiramisu - there's no excuse for an Italian place to get this dessert so wrong. Service is good but wont be rushing back.
Cam209
Absolutely fantastic, cannot fault this place. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful. Will be back many more times, I'm sure.

Great night, beautifully presented food , tasty as well, great service and a busy little place, 6 happy diners at this table

After many recommendations I finally went to Casa Del Amici. I ordered over the phone to pick up about an hour later. I got there on time only to get home to dry, cold stodgy pasta and garlic bread that wasn't any better!

I will try it again in the near future.
Ciara Niclasen
Really disappointing pasta, pizza, fish and sides especially for what they charge. The pasta tasted like it was store bought and the pizza wasnt much better than Domino's. If you want restaurant quality food go elsewhere. If you cant be bothered cooking and want something a little better than KFC etc but with a price tag then you'll probably like it.
Carol
Best food and service we have had in a very long time! And we done out a lot! Look forward to going back!
Jake
Went here last night for dinner food was bland pretty disappointing for a true Italian place wont be back in a hurry

Old casa aye!! The atmosphere felt like I was in one of the godfather films... Thought I was gonna find Micky the snitch slipping a deal in the corner! The entrees were fantastic with an amazing spread. The scollops were fantastic. I had a couple of Italian lads with me and the pastas were better than mumma makes but don't tell her cuz she'll beat you with a rolling pin!! The dessert menu was solid but a special mention to the desert pizza... It was a pizza covered by desert just crotch tighteningly amazing :) well played! the original slippery gives it 4.5/5 rolling pins...
