Review Dome Cafe - Canning Vale

Afternoon coffee on a Sunday. The coffee was nice and Hot. Bratwurst hotdog was fresh and generous filling. Fish tacos small serve but tasty only the chips not crunchy but were hot. Plenty of staff who were pleasant and helpful. Quite a relaxed atmosphere. Will go again.

I hadn't been to this dome for a number of years and today I was reminded of why. The eggs were undercooked the yolk was not even cooked. Also for $20 you'd think you'd get the whole piece of Turkish bread rather then only a quarter of a piece per egg

We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Super busy but advised of wait time wen ordering which was very courteous, but food came out quicker than advised. Big thumbs up to your fantastic staff.

Food and coffee were good, but I do have questions about a sign spotted on a fridge visible from the front counter - staff must speak in English only while on shift. Perhaps a focus on service speed over employee dialect would be beneficial.

Went 03/22, ordered 2 seafood baskets, both came out well overcooked and dry, asked 4 manager to look at, she agreed and replaced them. Thing is they should not have been presented to us in the firsy place?. So the cook and the waitress didnt notice they were burnt, or just dont care? Not good enough.

Was craving for some real good scone and tried it here at Dome and didn’t disappoint. It was served warm and just the way I wanted it to be. They also offer an all day breakfast with a variety of freshly cooked meals. They have nice coffee, too. Big coffee shop conveniently located near other shops. Staff was friendly and quick to deliver our orders. They provide kids some art stuff, too.

Placed a take away order and was asked to produce vaccination ID whilst only waiting for takeaway. After being told really we could not sit and wait for our takeaway as there was another customer sitting waiting for them to take away also. Being COVID safe we didn’t sit in the same location. We proceeded to tell the young man who would not listen. I spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and refunded our meals. To then receive our meals after we got home we did not receive neither of the meals we had ordered, we then had to drive back to the store and for our actual order. That was not all there, I then rang the store to then be told if I send them my address they would send out a voucher. Today I rang and placed a phone order so we weren’t placed in the same situation as last time. Whilst paying I asked about the voucher, to them be told the manager wasn’t in store and no one could do it. I left my email so they could email me the voucher to then have the store manager ring me and tell me that she could only do it with my address. One would think that they would have filled out the voucher and left it there for me to collect next time I was there. They can keep the voucher! This store has the worst customer service…

I waited 50 minutes for poached eggs on toast… was understaffed and staff were unwelcoming, poorly managed. Tables were cleared but not wiped. Our food was put as number 61 and we got given number 51 so they were constantly looking for our table and hadn’t changed the number after the first time. Just an unpleasant experience.

I have been to this particularly dome café a few times now and I have to say the food is Ok, staff are nice but inefficient.  My son wanted to take us for a mother's day breakfast this morning and we ordered 3 breakfast all the same and different drinks and additional chips. When the order came we only received one breakfast  but all other drinks and additional dishes,, when asked if we were waiting on anything else, which thank God the waitress did ask, we said yes 2 more breakfast.  I gave them 3 stars for the fact that they did check as well  and also due to the fact that I DID NOT READ the receipt, I am not one to check receipts, I just pay and wait for the food or service.  We were offered to wait for more breakfast but we were so disappointed that the breakfast that came went to my son, and we only had chips and went home and cook breakfast.

Rude service from staff this morning (Sunday). Food was $15 for one piece of toast with avocado and “poached eggs” that looked boiled. If you’re in hospitality you should at least have a smile on your face for customers, might have prevented me from bothering to review this terrible breakfast

This is my monthly catch up with friends for bfast or lunch! Always so delicious! I'm happy to have a local Dome! Never had a complaint about staff or food!

It's been a while since I've been here. Its actually one of my fav Dome place here in Perth. Friendly people and great staff. Came her with my son, mum and Aunty. Mum ordered scones with a side cream and berry jam and a hot mocha. My aunt ordered short mocchiato and a side of small wedges. I ordered salmon Niçoise salad, decaf mocha, small chips and a squashed frog for my son. My salmon Niçoise salad was delicious and flavourful.

Very nice here have been many times. <br/>Can be difficult getting a table sometimes it's so popular. <br/>Great variety on the menu for kids too. <br/>However when ordering the chocolate frog drinks for kids I always ask for it with nearly no ice as it literally can't be sucked through the straw otherwise.

Best dome we've been to so far. Spacious, clean, food is good and service is courteous and prompt. Ample parking. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Family preferred dome. We're usually here after 6pm for cakes and coffee. Very quiet.

Service was fast,we didn't feel the pressure to leave that some coffee shops have, and the place looks neat and tidy. The service was good, when an item was finished the plates were cleared pretty quickly. I'd go back for sure.

Not a huge fan of this Dome but unfortunately it's one of the only eateries nearby to E's family. The coffee is alright, but nothing special. On our last visit we all ordered at the same time but the meals came out staggered and E & I were nearly finished by the time her sisters breakfast came out. It was frustrating as they weren't even that busy. My Eggs Benedict were extremely overcooked (almost hard boiled) which ruined my breakfast. Luckily they topped the dish with a huge amount of hollandaise so the dish wasn't too dry. E's were cooked well, but a lot of poaching water made it onto her plate with the eggs, yuck. Soggy toast isn't too nice! We did order a few desserts to take away and they were alright. I refuse to go back and waste my dollars.

We thought we would give Dome another try  after a couple of years of absence. We are locals and have been regulars over the years.  We stopped coming here for breakfast and lunch when noticed that the quality of food declining.<br/><br/>Today's experience was terrible.  We order the big breakfasts and to say that quality was lacking is an understatement.  I don't think any of the food actually spend its time in a frying pan at all.  The eggs had no colour, the mushrooms was just boiled, the tomatoes reheated in a microwave.  Everything seems to been store brought or frozen then reheated.   We had a good view of the kitchen from where we sat and there was not a whole lot of 'cooking' observed.  There were lots of reheating. It is such a shame as it would be great to have a local cafe we can support.  <br/><br/>Probably get better quality at maccas.  So disappointed.  Do yourself a favour and avoid this Dome.

Walked into a full restaurant with screaming children everywhere!! Clearly this is for families only, if you want a peaceful breakfast DONT come here!!<br/>Food is extremely overpriced for the time it took to come out and quality.

Found 2 hairs on my salmon caesar salad last week... And 1 hair this morning on egg benedicts between the bread and spinach... This time I returned the dish back to them... And they gave me 2 free coffee cards, yes... they replaced the meal from scratch but guys please ... have you ever heard about a hair net? I enjoy the food.. I live local, but I hate to see hairs on it. I need to think twice to go back.. if there's a next time

If a breakfast fit for a king is what you are looking for the try the big breakfast....eggs done how you like bacon cooked to your liking and friendly staff....coffee is alway tasty and hot! Definitely one of the best Dome Cafés in Wa.

With all other options exhausted in this area on a public holiday, resorted to Dome. I haven't had a bad experience with their vegetarian break-feast so far, so decided on that. We also ordered the ham and egg hollandaise. We'll this turned out to be the bad experience - if Dome wants to microwave all their food, at least don't make it so obvious. The spinach, scrambled egg, mushrooms were all dried out and even the baked beans. The hollandaise dish was so so only. Had the Vienna coffee and cappuccino and those were probably the only two saviours for the morning.

It is usually deafeningly loud in here around lunchtime and great if you have small children. The staff also like to throw the cutlery into the draw one by one which seems to take all day. Sometimes the coffee is average and sometimes it's so foul I can't drink it. Same goes with the food. I would much rather drive the extra distance to the Success store.

Enjoyed their pan cakes. Berries and syrup all over. The ice cream is scooped beautifully in a separate container which is good as you can eat with the ice cream at your own pace instead of having to rush for melting ice cream. <br/><br/>Big breakfast was a little oily to my liking. Did not like the sausages as it taste a little weird. Portion wise I guess is big but for the price maybe a little more servings of each ingredients might make it more presentable. Mushrooms were oily from too much butter and taste bitter at times. I had tried some other beeakky items like smoke salmon hollandaise which was good I reckon. Did not quite enjoy the big breakfast. <br/><br/>Blissful berry is nice. Nice decaf cappuccino as well. <br/><br/>All in all nice place to hang out with driver for coffee. They got some nice hot food as well. I guess they do have some good days and some misses. Depending on when you go perhaps and who is cooking.

I have heard mixed reviews about this place but we haven't had a bad breakfast the few times we've been here and have some good takeaway coffees

Disappointing. My partner and I went for sunday brunch, I placed an order for chicken Caesar, bacon egg baguette and two strawberry milkshakes. We looked past the unappealing mess left on most tables and random food smeared on our table. Other patrons who arrived after us had received their meals, we waited 30 mins and our food came out but no drinks we asked the lady and she said she would check. Meals looked a little worse for wear lots of fatty bacon and the Caesar had an appealing amount of sauce. The lady came back with a receipt and said I hadn't paid for drinks I assured her I had and luckily I paid by eft so I could pull up my statement. I would imagine if I had paid cash it would be bad luck, no apology and the drinks were brought out. Food not as good as other domes and service is lacking, glad I don't live here or have to come back. Once visit is plenty.

Bad service. We have been to this Dome for a long time and up until the last few months, found the food and service to be good. However, we requested a Caesar Salad to share a few weeks ago, and the appearance when we received it was unbelievable. The salad was literally chucked together. There was too much bacon and it was just a big lump of meat. The salad was drowned in dressing, there was no egg on it, and it was just unpalatable to us! This time we didn't complain. However we have since been in for a coffee and a muffin on 3 consecutive Sunday afternoons. The first instance was we received the coffee ( and I always ask for our coffee HOT) and we had finished our coffee before we complained that we still hadn't received our muffin, in fact it was still under the glass dome. I had to go to the counter and ask for it to be just put on a plate and I would take it with me as we couldn't be bothered waiting again for it to be warmed and plated up. This happened again the following Sunday, every bough I asked for our muffins to be served with our coffee. We have been again today as we wanted to give them another chance due to the shortage of coffee shops in the area, and I specifically asked e girl serving me that I wanted 2 HOT coffees, and a slice of carrot cake to share, as there weren't any muffins left, and I wanted it all serving together. I repeated my request and the server said Yes, sure!! Well, the cake came after 5 minutes, we started to eat it whilst reading the newspaper and was half way through when I checked my watch and found that 20 minutes had passed and we still hadn't received our coffee. I went again to the counter and asked for my order and was assured that it was on the way. 6 minutes more passed and still no coffee and the cake was finished. I went back again and asked where it was and was finally going to say "Give me my money back" when they said it was ready. NOTE: IT WAS A VERY QUIET DAY WITH NOT MANY CUSTOMERS, SO WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM??????????????????????

Bad to worse. I cannot believe my eyes when my chicken tenders plate came out today. The salad is pitiful as the picture shows, vastly different from the pic in the menu. You can count how many leaves there are on the plate and I mean literally! Last time, the hoki fillets were not cooked through and now this. Even my daughter's macaroni and cheese looked like it was microwaved and slices of cheese put on top. It was mostly clumped together and hard. This is so unacceptable. Yes, the wait staff were pleasant to deal and coffees are good but the cooked meals coming out from the kitchen is going downhill. The owner and the kitchen staff had better wake up and start serving what is supposed to be served. Don't just take customers' money and serve scaled down versions of the meal. I won't even be buying coffees from them anymore!

Bad breaky. Breakfast here does not match the quality of other Dome restaurants. Scrambled eggs are always floating in water when they arrive at your table. Poached eggs come out with runny yolk, and runny white! I prefer the other Dome's to this one.

I love Dome.. I come here for breakfast sometimes, and it's one of my favourite places to go. I cannot believe the bad ratings! Okay, so they forgot a hash brown from my plate a couple of times, but apart from that, the food and service has been good. Also, their drinks are to die for! I love their Espreski's. Although, I personally prefer the Armadale store but I don't live there any more so I go to Canning Vale now. The store has always been clean whenever I've gone, sometimes it can be hectic and busy and you cannot blame the staff if things aren't as smooth as you plan (I've been a restaurant manager before!) but usually you don't have to wait long for the food.

Really, really bad breakfast. After trying a couple of times to have a decent vegetarian big breakfast here, have given up. Service is always great, reasonably priced big breakfast but the food and coffee is always pretty terrible. The only way the veggie breakfast is anything less than terrible is if you're extremely hungover and have no tastebuds but it still doesn't defend you from cold scrambled eggs and beans. The mushrooms were inedible the second time, they were old and chewy and shouldn't have been cooked in the first place. The coffee is beyond bad. Best to head across the road to The Roastery, at least you know the coffee is good and the eggs are hot

Good local cafe. Always go there to get a morning coffee and never wait long time, staff helpful. coffee also good.

Gotta love a place that remembers your coffee order and serves it with a side of really friendly service. Menu is promising but doesn't deliver however my coffee never disappoints and staff are always open to feedback / replacing something if it's not on par. Yes there are plenty of better cafes out there but this is good for a local.<br/>CAUTION: This Dome attracts the pram brigade and most mornings there's kids running around everywhere and / or screaming and / or ripping the place apart in some way, shape or form. The staff tell me it's a safety hazard to navigate around kids while carrying hot drinks and meals but there's only so much they can say to the parents. You have been warned!

Never Again. Never again, we have enjoyed breakfast here before well that was before our last visit disgusting food, all dried out I would say the bacon and eggs have been pre-cooked and left sitting, dirty tables watched them cleaning off tables 15% of food left behind 2 young ladies too busy talking while doing their jobs. Slow service and when we did get our food it was like I said all dried out and horrible should have taken it back for refund and gone else where. The whole place needs to have a good clean premises are dirty so it makes you wonder what the kitchen itself is like

Went there yesterday for an early dinner. We ordered the big breakfast, the plate came out with jam all over it and the 2 margarines plopped on top of my already broken eggs. My friend ordered the butter chicken. Came out luke warm and a very small portion for $20. My son got the chicken parmi. Chicken peice tiny and over half the plate salad. Disappointing and will never go back. Drive the extra km to Dome in East Vik Park it's 100% better than this place.

Do yourself a favour and go across the street to the roastery. This place sells burnt coffee and overpriced food, go to the roastery across the road for much better coffee and food..

Not so great!. Came here not long ago for a breakfast with a girlfriend and ordered scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and baked beans with a banana burst smoothie. <br/>The eggs weren't real eggs - i dont even know what they were but they definately were NOT real eggs, they were overcooked and resembled something I would expect my dog to vomit up. My bacon was barely cook at all, looked as if it went straight from the packet onto my plate. The baked beans were warm which was good however i paid an extra $4 or something for them and didn't get much more than a good spoon full - pretty disappointing.<br/><br/>On a good note though the smoothie was gorgeous as is the setting, however it is FAR too noisy to sit inside and chat. Probably won't be rushing back here anytime soon.

Great place, staff most of the time are sweet. Come for only Coffee every time I do around 5:30... just they aren't open on Tuesday at 5:30.<br/><br/>It's sour grapes since it is the establishments call if they want to close that unbelievably early, but... it's a minus for me in that regard.<br/><br/>Love the coffee from half the Baristas, wouldn't mind if I could actually get some on a Tuesday. Ah well.

Dome canning vale. I have been to the Canning Vale dome a number of time and i find the staff to be very helpful and friendly. it is a good atmosphere and nice food. i do admit on weekends it gets very busy and there is a big line so you should make a little more time spare because you are not going to get a fast meal. overall it is a great place for a casual meal and a catch coffee with friends

Used to go here ages ago and found it hit and miss so when I went recently for lunch and the place was packed thought things had changed... Wrong! I had microwave reheated scrambled egg - yikes coffee that was barely warm and waited 10 mins in line to get another with a side of bad attitude.

Staff say they no longer have free wifi

The computer says no. Slow service...the coffees ,when we got them, luke warm at best! Returned them... which was met with obvious disapproval from the barista! One can usually expect a reasonable meal and coffee at these franchises, but Canningvale has much to learn! Fortunately there are other alternatives in the area so need to go back! I feel " the customer is always right" has been altered to " the customer is usually wrong" at this place!

Went to this place a couple of times, usually on the weekend morning for breakfast. Not the best Dome around, went there just because it's close to home. Dissapointed with the slow service, long queue at the cashier, it's a huge place but not enough seats around and they even forget our order once. We only found that out after waiting for 30 min.

Good. Yummy food, usual Dome standard however the portion sizes have become smaller!

Dome Canningvale, thumbs down. Terrible service, agggghhh cannot even explain- incredibly slooooow (if you enjoy hanging out playing lawn bowls on your wknds you may not mind the bunch of teens who "work" here. They cannot seem to get my orders correct (or fellow customers as I have seen first hand when there), - bad customer service as they get agitated at you for correcting your order once they stuff up what they bring/ dont bring to your table. ALso they seem to have lots of tables piled with dirty dishes with ppl trying to flag someone down to clean up (ppl waiting to have somewhere to sit). we sat at a dirty table the other wknd and had to wait 20 minsafter i requested our table be cleaned after the previous customers. We got our coffees and cakes, and place on this filthy table!!! no thiniking whatsover. I normally enjoy dome, but as i have been south lately i have come to this one, but sadly service here gives Dome a bad wrap. Subu dome on the other hand, I can never fault- they do a great job.

No sunday fun. Every sunday i have my cheat meal and again and again i choose to waste my money here , but no more . The place is staffed by a bunch of kids who have no idea about customer service, and talk about slow an average of 20 minutes just to get a drink, my weakness is the CHAI CHILLER how ever they mostly end up looking like light brown water and are nothing like they should be made, lucky for me i can go to garden city where the staff are well trained and can made a chai the same way every time thick and tasty everytime they cant miss , Canningvale DOME BOO

Fool me twice.... Think i would have learnt the first time.... <br/><br/>Had some good food there in the past. The last two time i have been however i have ordered the chicken and avocado focaccia. The first time they burnt it- didnt realise until i had driven home already and as i didnt have enough fuel to get back i had to chuck it out- not happy. <br/>The second and last time i ordered again the chicken and avocado focaccia, this time i recieved half a focaccia and half a bread roll stuck together. WTF??? again i had already driven home by then. I ate it that time but wont ever go back. <br/>Not a recommended

Dome Canning Vale. Service is always very slow. It does not held bring out coffice one cup at a time. You get NO responce to letters to Dome. The out side is very untidy with spider webs near roof. This been reported a number of times.

Service is pathetic. 2 weeks in a row it has been more than a 40 minute wait. I suggest hungry jacks

I was pleasantly surprised at Dome’s offering today – the shake and brownie were both delicious.

If you are more the adventurous type there are a diverse range of Espresskis, fruity iced drinks, teas and coffees. The menu covers the breadth of breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-betweens.
