Always amazed at the value from this place, the food is delicious, love all the egg gravy dishes, serving sizes are very generous, service is very quick. Love this place and would recommend.
Service is good. Most of the time are busy. Need to queue. I went there quite often. Nice foods but a bit expensive compared to other Malaysian food restaurant. Gula Melaka tau fu fa is always my favorite dessert and may not able to try at the restaurant.
The food and price is amazing. The service is quick and friendly. Portion sizes are fantastic. The atmosphere is rather loud but the food and quick service makes up for it.
Roti Kanai, Biryani and Veg (Soya) Mutton is my favourite. Grab a coconut drink with a few pieces of real coconut and some mint to cool you down when the spice burn comes.
They have a different way to order food as you have to look up the dish code and write it down on a order pad and they process the invoice and the food follows shortly after.
Grab a bottle of water, you will need it to wash down the spicy food! Sometimes you need to ask for it as they don't always offer.
Can get quite busy and usually has queues to get it so get in early.
The table settings are quite congested so just be aware of that so you don't bump into others.
I have been here a number of times, never found any fault with them. My favourite dishes are papa pan mee (dry or soup), ipoh noodles, and I have to say they do the best roti canai in Perth! Whenever I have a Malaysian food craving, I will definitely go there and have satay too! Attentive staff, efficient service, and delicous food altogether.
I have been here for a couple of time and their fish mee hoon soup is always my favourite. Portion is generous and the soup base is refreshing. It’s a bit expensive though. Will definitely come back again for more!
A place where you can get your Malaysian fix without feeling disappointed; if you have the cash. The menu is very extensive and has a lot of great choices. I had the Nasi Briyani with ayam sambal (which imo is not spicy at all and is more on the sweet side). The rice, though, is very flavourful and tastes very authentic. The chicken skin is great! My favourite starter but I always feel sick of it halfway because of the salt content in it. The kuey teow in egg sauce is also yummy. The prawn mee, however, falls short compared to what I have in malaysia. Not flavourful or spicy enough. The chicken rice was tasty as the chicken was juicy and soup not bland. Other things I've had are the laksa, which is just ok. This and the prawn mee both came in a large bowl which is a huge plus.
Though they stray from the norm by charging a premium price than other Asian joints, I would not say their food is amazingly great. It's a safe place to eat in a sense that you'll be happy with your meal, what with the great service and neat interior. Wouldn't come here a lot though as other places offer cheaper varieties.
You can definitely taste the authenticity of Malaysian flavours in most dishes. Top favourites:
👍 Fish Fillet Curry Noodles
👍 Assam Laksa
👍 Nasi Briyani with Beef Rendang & Fried Chicken
👍 Fried Rice Noodles (a rare dish to find in Perth)
👍 Mee Goreng
👍 Kaya Butter Toast (generous filling and love how the butter is soft, yet holds its shape till they hit your mouth and melts)
On the whole, food here has great flavours; not to forget, we enjoy the plain Roti & Roti Planta here too. However consistency is an issue. Some days you can get really good and enjoyable fried rice / noodles, and other days you can get really greasy ones. Even with the fried chicken, if they are served fresh and hot, they are finger-licking good, but some days we just get cold and dry ones.
For the high prices set, food should really be maintained at a high quality & standard consistently. Otherwise, they will eventually lose their loyal customers.
Prices keep creeping up. Taste wise good. Many dishes were worth the money but now that the prices up bit by bit, other places offer similar level of taste and portion but 40% cheaper.

First time visit for us . Enjoyed using the ordering system, food came out very fast. Steam chicken with rice and soup was great value and really moist and tasty. The other dish was a anchovy noodle soup with chicken mince it was average !
Roti roti roti!!!! Pretty good here. I've had the papa rich roti from Malaysia when I visited family and it's just as good (only more expensive in Perth). Go extra roti with your roti meals as they only give you one. The curry noodles with chicken are also good. The ice milo here takes me back to Penang. Very enjoyable. Will be back again.
Great Malaysian food, a lot of selection too! Pan mee and the assam laksa are so delicious. Roti prata is home made and comes with delicious sauce.
Not as cheap as hawker food but I'm happy with the food. Rose drinks / bandung is the best in Perth!
I've ordered something different every time and it seems it's the luck of the draw when it comes to the taste and authenticity of each meal. Have had everything from roti to noodles, rice to dessert. Roti is quite good but the accompanying curry and dahl is pitiful, there's never enough of it! Kuey teow, Ipoh noodle soup, dumplings all have been underwhelming. Rice dishes have been inconsistent, though today's red chicken and sambal eggplant did hit the spot for me. Overall, maybe high prices have something to do with it and i'm expecting more flavour for my buck.
The PappaRich brand in its own home country of Malaysia is considered pricey - and that is true because the same dishes are so easily available and very cheap on the street - hence it is not so popular with the locals. But in Australia, this is where we can get reliably good delicious Malaysian cuisine. I remember going to the very first PappaRich restaurant in Australia, shortly after it opened in 2012 in Melbourne. Since then, the franchise has proliferated throughout Australia. We tried one PappaRich restaurant in Sydney last year and loved it. When we were in Perth last month, we had the opportunity to dine at PappaRich in Carousel, after an impromptu playdate with a long-time Perth friend and her kids who were visiting Perth at the same time as us! It was the month of Ramadan at the time, and this is a very popular spot for iftar, also known in Malay and Indonesian as "buka puasa", which means to 'open the fast' at the end of the day. The place was packed, with Muslims (including my friend and her boys) having their first meal after a day of fasting, and non-Muslims just enjoying a Malaysian meal. Service was great - staff was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious! It was a fantastic first Malaysian meal of the trip!
Ordered the Roti Canai with Vegetarian Curry Mutton, the Nasi Lemak with Vegetarian Curry Mutton & the Teh C Special drink. I always like Pappa Rich - the roti is delicious. Today the curry mutton was way spicier than normal. I also think the roti is pretty expensive for the size you get. Otherwise my only complaint is that the restaurant is very squishy and you are very close to the next tables. Will keep coming back though as I like the food and drink selection.
I reckon this place has the best char Kuay teow in Perth. My partner thought the nasi lemak was so-so. The iced Cham was good. Love the variety as well.
Was so excited when this place opened! The thought of more authentic Asian food in Perth excites me. Been here many many times now. Though the food price is quite pricey (comparing with Malaysia pricing), the food is great and I love the range of Asian drinks. Always something there to satisfy my...
I have been here heaps of times. The roti canai with chicken curry is an all time favourite. Servings are generous and the flavours always hit the spot.
Took some friends for birthdays on Sunday 19th....first time for them. Lovely venue...........ordering system is cool. We loved the satays and roti............excellent flavours .BUT.. when it was time for the mains only 1 came to the table...............everyone who came in later have food.....waiting, waiting, waiting................(we had been forgotten)...asked the young waitress.................no-one came back to say sorry.........on it's way.............waiting, waiting.....finally after waiting 20+ we got out meals..............but birthday boy had just about finished............I have to say the food was great and we all enjoyed our meals..............I would go back. Please take note everyone should get all food delivered at the same time.
This is just my kinda place! Excellent service, delicious food, you can take your leftovers home and the ordering system is super efficient.
The three chillis option is not as spicy as you would expect so ask for more spice if you like to burn. If you order the roti, be prepared to watch your friends eating for some time because it takes ages - worth the wait!!
Finally got to try this place abd see what all the fuss was about. Whilst the restaurant was busy we were seated very quickly and food arrived just as fast. We had chicken wings, Roti with chicken curry & chicken biryani. If you are an American blue cheese bbq wings kindda person this dish is not for you! More like Vietnamese stuffed wings without the stuffing :P
My favourite part of the meal was biryani rice with the side of blachan brinjal, delicious!
Went here for the first time tonight an honestly couldn't fault it. Fast, attentive servers and delicious fresh food. We had a chicken curry noodle dish, the meat was cooked to perfection. The satay was also very good. We will be coming back again for sure.
Delicious food! Love all their food especially Roti canai, papa fried mee and papa fried noodles! Il never get bored of their food! Highly recommended
Have been to this place twice now, each time the service was wonderful, the food is good, however not the best I have ever had, overall decent food, and I would come again if I ever had a knackering for Malaysian style food
Our fave restaurant. Have tried half of the menu and my fave is Paparich rice noodle, crispy skin chicken and chicken satay. All the food there is great but the price for malaysian food is pretty expensive compare to malaysian restaurant in here.
This is the second time I have been to Pappa rich and I ordered the Pappa char koay teow. I can be fussy when it comes to Asian cuisine but I was generally pleased overall with the dish. It would have been a lot better if there was more chicken or prawns though. If you don't like any set ingredients, and you don't want them included, let them know, they'll take them out ,eg onions for me. The drinks are really impressive. Every time we arrive its very busy, tables are very crowded but that doesn't bother me none. The waitresses are not very friendly but seem very hard working. The meals are very cheap, 15 dollars for most dishes. I will be back again!
Wish there will be more similar restaurant like this on Perth - food is not bad but a little bit pricy - once you know what you want to order place your order on the order pad on your table then press the bell the waitress's will come by to confirm your order. Can be quite crowded during peak hours - meals time.
Pan Mee at our post blood donation lunch spot.
I have not had pan mee for ages and I was reminiscing a meal I shared with my friend almost two years ago in Penang, Malaysia. God rest his beautiful soul.
So the pan mee, good but not the best. A runny soft boiled egg that acts to help bind the dish together. Chilli not too spicy, may be spicy for eaters without chilli eating experience. Ikan bilis, crunchy but very salty and not quite a normal Ikan bilis found in hawker places. Shallots good. Mushrooms lacking some flavour. Pork mince dare I say flavourless and dry?
Papparich is good in that it can serve up a cuisine not found traditionally in the local shops. However the quality of the food is potentially more westernised and I wonder if it's because it lacks the wok flavours, Asian ingredients, msg? And the price of course is 10x more than what you would pay for in Malaysia.
If you want an introduction to Malaysian street hawker food, papparich is good. If you want good quality Malaysian food, find a Malaysian Aunty, or go to northbridge, or go to Malaysia lol.
Service is super quick every time I come here. The portions are fairly large and the taste is above average. Recommend to people wanting a quick simple Malay fix but are not too fussy as I wouldn't say it tastes like amazing authentic Malay cuisine.
Enjoyed my first visit to Papparich - roti and satay were the highlight. The menu is overwhelming for someone not familiar with Malaysian cuisine but staff very helpful. Will return and will try to leave room for dessert next time!
Tried out the Carousel branch. Service was attentive and tastes just like how the dishes are in the Sydney branches. Would definitely recommend! The laksa, chicken chop & red chicken are my faves!
Sooo... Today was hot as, but we were feeling like Roti anyways because it is so yummy. We ordered chicken skin too, as I've heard a lot of good things about it, but had to decide that it isn't me. The Roti was yummy as.
A bit busy as usual.
The curry fish fillet noodle soup is oh-my-goodness so tasty!! Love the addition of deep fried eggplant which sets it apart from any other curry fish fillet/wing/head noodle zoup I've had in Perth.
Theres reasons why we always go back to papparich 1. They have standard quality! Food is always the same quality, looks, portion and maintained. 2. Easy and fast service. Its just so fast you dont need to be starving waiting for the food. My curry laksa was even faster than my soy milk hahaha 3. Choice! So much choice with pictures and they all look yummy. So hard to choose but its w always better :) tho its more expensive than other malaysian restaurant, i really dont mind.
Arrived at 2.15pm and there was a queue! Waited half an hour! We were promptly ushered to the table. Interesting concept where you pick selection on an order sheet and buzz a waitperson to pick it up. I found the service a little chaotic today as meals were delivered to the table with a long delay! In fact they missed my order of the fried kway teow. Prices aren't the cheapest in town so why are they successful? I say the flavor of the food is good and the selection extensive! The place is beautifully decorated. The staff pleasant. We ordered roti canai plain and with onion/egg, chicken satay, nasi briyani, and char kway teow. Will be back for more!!
This is our favourite quick gateway place. The food is always good. We have been coming here many times and we have never been disappointed. The service is good too and serving food is always quick no matter how busy they are. The only problem with eating at Papparich, we always order the same food over and over again, even though we have made commitment to try other dishes. Well, may be next time.
There’s a reason why you always have to queue to get a seat in Papparich. They offer pages after pages after pages of authentic Malaysian cuisines and drinks too. Their self service method (of writing the menu via the 3 digit code) allows for quick service despite busy period. The staffs are also quick to come at a simple press of a button (so you don’t need to try so much to catch their eyes or wave your hand to grab their attention).
The foods are delicious with my personal favorite of the Biryani rice which looks and smells good – kinda bring out the exotic feeling of being in a foreign country. I usually ordered the Biryani rice mixed with 2 meats which you can choose from a list of fried chicken, sambal prawn, sambal eggplant, beef rending, and vegetarian muttons. It is also topped with pappadum (thin cracker).
The price is medium and slightly more expensive than the usual rice dishes. Biryani Rice with 2 dishes would set you back $14.90 to 16.90 depending on your choice of dishes.
Their list of Malaysian favorites drinks are also impressive and the pictures on the menu only makes you even want more. But again, a glass of ice coffee, milk and sugar would set you back $4.90.
Located in carousel near the gym, this food outlet is easy to find and there is ample parking as it is in carousel shopping centre.
Cash and eftpos facilities available as well as high chairs for the little ones.
You can dine inside or outside and the restaurant is clean, tidy and new.
Ordering style is done via filling out a form with codes that are on the menu, pressing a buzzer and the waitress comes and takes your order to the kitchen, quick and easy and food comes out hot and quickly.
Food is very tasty and fresh and the price is very reasonable. We ordered two drinks, two main meals and one dessert for less than $50.
I have been back three times since and will go back again.
The food at Papparich Carousel have always been great! We are regular visitors and I especially love the Fried Kway Teow there! Fried to perfection with the "wok" aroma! The Roti canai is great too as well as the Cham (tea+coffee) and desserts! Soya bean pudding and gula Melaka!
Best Nasi lamak!
I love the way they cooked the chicken and the rice, over all is very good although a bit more expensive than other hawkers. But I think Lasa is better in other place such as home town kitchen and sarawak hawker. However don't mind to pay for nice sitting and different service.
Had this awesome fish head noodles at Papparich Carousel. The soup is to die for, it's full of flavour. Fish heads were perfectly cooked and was really tasty. I can eat this over and over again!
I think Paparich is the best hawkers food in Perth. We have tried some of their foods and all of them are very delicious. However today, we have to wait an ages for the char kuey tiao. I almost finish my food when my husband got his food
They have lots of interesting menu. I've been there lots of time and always want to come back. Love the bread and fish soup. Nasi lemak is one of the must try menu.
Last night I met with ex colleagues at PR Carousel which I'd never been before. People said they do better food than NB but I reckon they are the same. I personally choose NB over Carousel branch because they are closer to home and seem to have more space between tables. This time I tried Crispy Egg Noodle recommended by one of my friends. It's good, but looking at my colleague's Hainan Curry Chicken Chop, I wished I ordered that one (which I wanted originally). This indicates that I need to go back asap to try that awesome looking dish, lol. Keep up the good work PR. Please continue making good food and I'll be around.

I am there every second week and my family loves the food there as well.their service is quick ,staff is courteous and the food is yummy.the must tries are roti canai, veg biriyani rice, nasi lemak, steamed mantau with Kaya and char koay teow
Hofun egg sauce, fried kuey teow and ipoh hofun soup with chicken is nice, including the matcha drink and the mango lychee drink is nice. However, overpriced for the type of good served.
Unusual ordering concept and queuing system - the food is well worth the wait - after ordering service is quick and efficient - curry naan was tasty and warming. Both the seafood and vegetarian laksa were generous and filling. Although I found a little too much tofu in mine - that is a personal taste and not a criticism of the meal which was very good toilet is clean and neat.
good place for dinner & tasty Malaysian foods. yummy for their Asam laksa, but today I ordered a prawn noodle soup, very nice & well cooked. price is reasonable & very long queue tho.
To be honest, this restaurant has met my expectations. I didnt know what the buzz is all about until i have tried it! It is very fairly priced and the quality of the food is excellent! I love the ambience and the whole dining experience. Hopefully they dont lose their touch ;)
Can't go wrong with a delicious breakfast/lunch at PappaRich! Our favourite will always be the yum/flakey fresh roti canai. Love that you can see into the kitchen watching the guy make these.
