Good cafe with great coffee and decent sandwiches. The tables, interior and atmosphere are a little spartan and not as hip as some other places on Maling Road, but the better quality of coffee more than makes up for that.
Great food, generous portions and economical prices! Most meals were under $20. Seems like a recent change in ownership, menu has Korean influence but the coffee remains fabulous. We ordered Smiley Face kids bacon and eggs ($8), scrambled eggs with cheese croissant ($8), medley of mushrooms Montere
Building was from 1800s so naturally liked the architecture and ambience of it. I found the serving staff very friendly and helpful in terms of deciding the order.
Menu is not Halal so I don't have much options to choose from :). So I ordered coffee and Fried eggs on toast. Liked both of them. I can
Came in just for a coffee but decided to have a quick bite. The sandwich was delicious and I loved having that touch of mustard between the ham and the melted cheese. So simply yet so tasty. And all of this was complemented by a great latte. Prices are a tad expensive but I was happy with my meal so
Great service, decent coffee and value for money
Such a lovely place and Cafe!! Great coffe! And fantastic breakfast! Highly recommended
One of my favourite coffee places and always high on the standard. Pour over coffee can be a surprise. Food is also delicious. You can tell how much efforts they've put in - from coffee to the sause in toast sandwiches. The quality is consistent. Definitely a regular place to visit.
During a short, but delicious, period of my life, I was working at a school around the corner from The Maling Room.
In brief:
The pros:
- Great coffee
- Great food
- Relaxed, calming ambience
- Sassy baristas
The cons:
- My expanding waistline, and general dissatisfaction with other cafe food
