Review Tino's Italian Restaurant - Caringbah

Got the sizzling garlic prawns on Uber eats from here $22.50 received literally 5 frozen green prawns cooked in the sauce with a tiny bit of garlic bread. When I rang and spoke with the manager and told him that this was outrageous, the quantity received for such money! And he told me no one is special, was very hostile and did not care to help at all. Would not recommend this place to anyone with the way they handle themselves. Will not order from here again food is bland and not worth the money

Even though the location is not the best (which makes it 4 stars), the atmosphere inside is really nice with paintings from a local artist. The food is really tasty and excellent prepared. The personnel is friendly and the service great. As a tea drinking person I got very surprised to be served leaves in a teapot. That was extra ordinary!

The restaurant is small and quaint. My partner had the chilli prawns for entree and seafood marinara for main and he was very happy with his choices. I had the bruschetta for entree - that was ok but it lacked flavor. There was no balsamic vinegar or red onion in it, it was literally chopped tomatoes and oil on bread. I then had chicken saltimbocca- I expected a fresh chicken breast with prager ham, boccochinni, sage, and roasted almonds but I got a deep fried chicken pattie with bacon and cheese melted on top with vegetables. It wasn't appetizing or what i was expecting. I was quite disappointed. All in all, I feel ripped off and won't be returning.

Authentic Italian food, fresh and full of flavour. Every dish we ordered was perfect! Recommend the Tortellini Boscaiola (a real stand out compared to other Italian restaurants in the Shire) and the Veal Rosaria for main, and Chocolate Mousse for dessert. I also had a delicious sangria, one of the best i have had.

A hidden gem in Caringbah. They've been there since 1986 and it's pretty clear why. Great food, huge portions. Homely and welcoming atmosphere. Doesn't matter whether it's a weekend or a weekday, it's always a good, hearty Italian & Portuguese menu and some great Portuguese wines.

Very nice Italion food. Staff could be more interactive. Strawberries could have been soaked in Port not just plopped in at last minute as a side. More avocado on Chincken & prawns. For all the yrs its been open should be more experienced. But I am picky. Overall great choice on menu.

Ordered delivery and was pleasantly surprised. Full size, still hot and delicious. Great little spot for a home cooked Italian meal. Will be ordering again! Had tortelinni and veal parm. Yummo

Ordered on Deliveroo, paid $30 for a large calamari, when it arrived there were 5 pieces in the container and the rest salad, I called the restaurant and they said they had sent the small and they would send a new large one. Took 20 mins, then when it arrived was the exact same size. Food was plain and average and way over priced for small amounts.

I ordered through UBER EATS bruschetta with feta, no feta delivered. I rang the restaurant and asked them to fix the problem only to be told I need to contact uber because of overcharge. They can't do or call anyone.... They admitted the mistake but it's not their business to fix it or offer anything. At the end they solved the problem in by hanging up!

“Disaster at Tinos”
1 of 5 bubbles Pending review
I have dined at Tinos with family and friends many times over the last 6 years. I would rate it as my favourite restaurant until last night. Ok I did have 2 Ouffer vouchers for a total of 4 diners.!( Tinos only allow 1 voucher per table of 4.) I had the right number of diners but wrong piece of paper.! They weren't out of pocket in fact they get a couple of extra dollars with 2 vouchers as they cost us more.We were totally humiliated in front of other dinners as we were moved into a dark corner to 2 separate table as we were Not allowed to sit together. We felt like naughty school kids.We ended up taking up 2 tables at which we had to turn our chairs around in order to chat across to our daughter and son in law at the other table. It is a pity that the owner didn't hear the comic remarks about them from the other diners. Needless to say we felt that we were given half hearted service. Our entree and main courses were up to their normal standard but the tiramisu was days old and the cream on top had solidified. Neither I, my family or friends will be returning to Tinos as we don't need to be treated in this childish manner.

Visited October 2016
Less

Tino's has been around for ages and is one of the most dependable restaurants I know of. When ever I walk out I think that was a nice meal. It has not changed in the 10 years we have been going there, never reach great heights but what it does it does well. Loved the garlic prawns and rump steak.

Growing up with Italians, it reminded me of why I stay in for Italian. I may be harsh because my friends Mums & Nonnas were all amazing cooks. We won't be back, it's about the little things in this day and age not even a bottle of water offered for the table till we were half way through our mains.
Prepaid scoup on deal ended up costing more than we were allowed to order with the night.

Such a wonderful little place to visit, this is the place the wife and i go if we want a nice quiet evening together enjoying some authentic home cooked style italian food. Always such a comforting experience going to Tinos, the staff are lovely, prices are reasonable and the food amazing!

Very poor. Sorry guys but this place is poor. they are marketing themselves as this country style, family run, italian joint and they couldn't be much further off the mark. the carbonara isn't authentic italian, the lazy cream version. the saltimbocca was nothing better than a chicken parma you'd get in the pub, came with veg which were over cooked. the entrees both came with the same dour salad.
one thing i did like was the wine list suggests an australian wine it would be similar to, great for someone like me who knows nothing about italian wines. however, we went for the 'similar to margaret river chardonnay', i don't think margaret river would be happy with the comparison. left half of it behind.
the wait staff seemed nice but i really hope it was our guys, first day on the job.
will not return, lots of better options within a short walk.

Dinner with Rosaria. Great portion sizes, always heaps of lovely fresh veggies, My favourite is named after the hostess, Veal Rosaria

Will not go back. I purchased a deal from Spreets and my husband had a mild heart attack, so could not use the deal until nearly expired & left messages no one returned the calls, and employees would not honour it. So would not recommend a restaurant that treats it patrons like that.

Went here last Friday night, what a little treasure the food was just like home cooking, with great service and great ambiance. I love loved the yummy garlic prawns, lamb shanks and the very refreshing sangria. We will defiantly be back.

Wont be Going Back. They ran out of food, no Sangria available and nothing offered as a replacement and the service was very ordinary. Still charged full freight with no compensation of sangria/wine not delivered and dishes not available. Definitely won't be going back and won't recommend them to friends.

One of my favourite things about visiting my parents is strolling down to this restaurant. Although its not on the menu you can order the garlic prawns which are sensational. Great pastas and veal dishes too.
I love that my favourite childhood restaurant is still there whenever I come home.

Good. We have lived down the road from Tinos for years and always thought it looked dark and dingy. Purchased a groupon voucher so thought it was worth giving it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised.. really nice food and good sized servings. My only negative would be that the food wasnt as hot as it should have been when it came to the table, may have sat in the kitchen for a few minutes but didnt ruin it for me. This place feels like a real family restaurant but has a really nice decore. Would recommend

LOVE IT!. Best food in town. Great choice of true Italian dishes. Serves are massive - I even had to take home a doggy bag as I could not finish my meal. Next night's doggy bag dinner was superb. Price definitely matches value for money. Service very good but not overbearing. Yum, yum and more yum.

Pleasant evening with excellent food and a tasteful decor. Inexpensive for the superb service and wide range of traditional Italian dishes. The place to go in caringbah.
