Review Port Hacking Seafood - Caringbah

Firstly food was good. No problems there. Went for the $26 - 2 piece fish meal deal. Was charged $28.50. When questioned the owner(?) said that the price was changed in the computer system but they couldn’t work out how to change the wall board and that they couldn’t charge $26 as the computer wouldn’t allow it. I asked if they could throw in a couple of scallops but that was too hard as well. The attitude was like we’ll take it or leave it. Thanks but I’ll be leaving it from now on.

We have eaten here a few times and have always been greeted by friendly staff. The best fish chips I’ve had in the shire! :)

Surprisingly huge portions and delicious!! We actually went because it was a nearby place open at 3pm to get some chips and gravy and the great smell got us! Both the fish and chips and the burgers were really good!Friendly staff as well. Definitely going back again.

First, this place used to be the best in the shire for fish and chips, we’ve been regulars for over 20 years. Secondly, the chips were very good. BUT last nights serve was the WORST I’ve ever had anywhere. All the rest were so oily we had to keep wiping the grease off our fingers after touching them. The fish and the potato scallops were so greasy, at one stage I pressed a finger into the surface and a pool of oil appeared. Not even the pets would eat it! The fish had a spongy texture and was inedible. I managed half a piece and have had the trots all night. NEVER AGAIN! Btw the owner suggested I had the wrong business. If your business is next to a chemist shop and the Caltex servo, I most certainly did not have the wrong business. Still WORST seafood ever!

Ordered through Uber Eats tonight and wasn’t disappointed. Good portions, lots of flavour. Fast & Faultless. 👍

Ordered & paid for Bara, gave me Dory. Ordered salad & received barely enough to fill a sauce tub. After driving down to the water to enjoy a highly recommended and expensive lunch found there wasn’t even cutlery on the bag. Place was not busy, service was appalling. Never again.

WAS best seafood. Tonight ordered grilled fish & small chips. $13.10, 5minute drive home. Fish cold & chips a mix of piping hot & stone cold. SO disappointed. ???? New owners as none of the staff looked familiar. It is my regular for fish & chips but not anymore. Very disappointing. The meal ended up in the bin as it wasn't tasty And it wasn't crazy busy which could have explained the long wait Ggggrrrrrrrrr

I've had consistently poor chips from this take out and tonight's were the worst. All you could taste was oil. Had enough of the lack of care for your chips.

They serve superb seafood, burger and fries with really generous serving that you cannot complain. Port Hacking Seafood is one of the best in the Sutherland Shire!

My partner & I have been here 3x and every single item ordered was clean, fresh & absolutely mouth-watering. The John Dory just melts in your mouth..the calamari is so tender..the staff are attentive & friendly..parking's not an issue. My partner & I don't go anywhere else for fish & chips. Nothing's as perfect.

If you want great fish and chips then head down to port hacking seafood! The family love when I bring home a family pack with fish, prawns, calamari and other delights. The fish always tastes so fresh and the chips are great! I've not had a bad meal from my local "chippy".

I bought a grilled pack with my partner. Cost $40. We ate the chips and a bit of the fish and threw the rest away. I've never tasted something so bad in my life. Prawns were soggy, octopus, calamari were all soggy and strangely flavoured. The seasoning tasted like that used in butcher seasoned red meat but uncooked. I rarely give reviews but this was so disappointing.

Always a reliable and quick feed. Delicious burgers namely the chicken beast burger. Sure fire way to order a winning dish. The chips are also good, very thick which is nice. Great range of fresh salads for those that are that way inclined. Favourite fish and chip shop
