Well, i have to say this is one of the most authentic Indian restaurant in Sydney. One of the best, specially when you ask for dishes not in the menu and they make it for you just perfectly...
The owner let you feel like u r dining in ur home. It really reminds you with the fine dining 90s experience, if you know what i mean.

Maharaja’s on Carmen is the jewel in the lightly renovated strip mall that goes by the name of Carmen Drive Shops. Interior designers, Lexis Design, have created a welcoming environment that belies the age of the surrounding shops.Glass screens covered with geometric gold patterns softly reveal the opulent blue and gold dining room. Patterned pale blue textured vinyl wall-coverings are set off by deeper blue velour banquettes on two sides of the room, with the fabric also employed in the seat cushions of the high-backed, black dining chairs.Large windows offer a peek at the sleepy suburban streetscape, which has just enough parking to service the restaurants that the isolated strip contains. As I tuck into a sculptural arrangement of Pappadums ($3), nicely charred and oil-free from a fast cook in the tandoor, my dining companion nips to the bottle shop. The seven-month-old restaurant doesn’t have a liquor license, but it’s hardly a drama with a decent liquor store practically next door. The food menu is surprisingly succinct, though this isn’t...
The food was great. The spice level is adjusted to your taste such that people with varied spice preferences can dine at peace. Just felt that the paneer was half done. Otherwise, the naan was uber soft and gravies, delicious.
I went to this restaurant for our dinner today. The place was pretty packed. I noted that there are enough parking spaces available for customers. I loved the food, I found the food to be fresh and well made. The decor was nice and so was the team that ran the dining room. Will definitely frequent this place, if the food quality is maintained as it is now.
We attended this place a few weeks ago for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the $50pp banquet. Friendly staff, welcoming and great service. We'll be back to try other items on the menu.
Easily the best Indian restaurant and food I've had. Whenever we host guests, we always insist we have dinner at Maharaja's one night and they all share our opinion in the end.
The staff are consistently lovely and always helpful. Even when we had a specific request that would have been inconvenient for them, they accommodated us with smiles and made our night.
We will be lifelong customers, and not just because the food is so addictive 😋
Food was very nice and promptly served. Service was good but wouldn’t know about busy times as this was during one of those restricted periods and there was only one other family eating there. They were doing a steady custom in take away and the food was good. Priced well.
Excellent food. Very efficient, friendly staff.
My only suggestion, it would be nice if the plates were warmed up, it would keep the food hotter. But still highly recommended!
Had the work X Mas party here yesterday 13/12. Met with the Chef beforehand to decide on the menu items as some of the guests were vegetarians. Very new building and layout. The ambiance and the food was fantastic. Flavoursome food in more than enough quantities. Everyone had such a great time. Special mention should be made of Kamal who was in charge and saw to it that everything we required was available. Reasonable pricing as well. Highly recommend.
My first time at Maharaja's and it won't be the last! The food & service are amazing and we loved the decore! What a beautiful place to enjoy dinner with friends!
