Went here with friends and the coffee, service and food were really good. We sat outside and they place the heater on. Also was fun to bring our friends dog to the undercover outside area were they accept dogs here. He chilled while we ate nice and warm outdoors. Will definitely come back
Can not fault Left Field. The service is always spectacular, the food is outstanding and beautifully presented. I first came here a couple of years ago. I returned last week (3 times) and it is just as good as it was the first time I visited. We bring our dog and 8 month old baby and sit outside under the heaters in winter. Highly worth a shot. One of my favourite cafes.
First time been here and Iām completely in love with their dish. Will come back there as much as possible!
Theeee go to spot around the Carnegie area with a wait of at least 20 minutes for a table. I ordered the pulled pork Benedict and it was AMAZING. The addition of a nice refreshing apple salad helped cut through all the fatty creaminess from the egg yolk and hollandaise sauce while also being an amazing combination with the pulled pork. The sourdough bread was perfect because it added a nice crunch to every bite.
Epitome of Melbourne brunch! Love this place
Absolutely delicious time and time again! One thing i love is the consistency, the smashed avocado is the best iāve ever had the flavors are just wonderful! Never let down with this place couldnāt recommend this cafe enough, always fresh and delicious
Great vibe, good food, plenty of space. We got ourselves the pork benny which was overall great. The pork wasnāt too salty and tasted delicious with sliced apple which helped cut through the meaty taste. The toast could be a bit crunchier though. The french toast we got was delicious but again the toast was a bit too soft. The whole dish would be better with some more crunchy elements.
Really really enjoyed this cafe. Surprisingly healthy breakfast choices with fresh ingredients. Also ordered a basic bacon and poached eggs which came out perfectly cooked. Yummy coffee and attentive staff made for an easy experience. Will absolutely be back to enjoy the street side cafe seating.

Years on, and people are still queuing at this Carnegie cafƩ. Why? Well, the food is good. Darn good in fact. And as prerequisite for us fussy Melbournians, the coffee is excellent too. Left Field is set just beyond the busy strip of Koornang Road. The interior is bright, clean and somewhat noisy. The guests are foodies and know when they are onto something good.
We ordered the Pork Benedict. I was definitely surprised at the Apple Cider Hollandaise and the Apple PurĆ©e. Iām not used to having fruit elements in my savory dishes, but I definitely felt that it complemented the dish and added sweetness to it. The sourdough toast was also crispy and not too hard which I loved.
Literally LIFE CHANGING FRENCH TOAST and probably my second favourite brunch dish of ALL TIME
FOOD & COFFEE: I ordered the new āOreo & Milo Crusted French Toastā and for all my sweet tooth lovers, food lovers, HECK IF YOU EVEN JUST EAT FOOD, you are going to LOVE THIS. This isnāt my first oreo and milo french toast funny enough but it definitely is 1000x times better. Left Field truly perfected this french toast to its core. Everything about it was made so beautifully. The french toast itself was literally magical, it was soft and fluffy but the milo and oreo gave it a slightly crunchy exterior but the flavour of milo and oreo both were balanced perfectly. One didnāt overpower the other and that was so great because it didnāt leave you sick after the dish but rather satisfied and wanting to go back for more. But what truly made this dish life changing was the COOKIES AND CREAM MASCARPONE. Now, I donāt know what GENIUS came up with this idea but give him a raise and make him the president of the french toast club. It is sooo much better than any cookies and cream ice cream Iāve ever had because its not overly sweet! Ice cream can get abit too sweet at times so putting a mascarpone on a french toast is pure genius. Everything about this dish truly crowns it as my new second FAVOURITE brunch dish of ALL TIME. Yeap, after probably 50
cafes, this is gonna take that spot. The soy latte was also really really good and it had a perfectly nutty flavour while still having a really pleasant creamy flavour.
SERVICE: The service was great! They were friendly and attentive!
Overall, travelling for an hour to get to Left Field was completely worth it. I have absolutely no complaints and am in awe and admiration of their food. I now understand the hype and can verify, itās not overhyped. If youāre doubting coming here, donāt! Itās truly worth the travel, calories, time and money.
Had a great breakfast at Left Field. The breakfast board was yum with the smash and the muesli and juice and my niece loved her French toast. Iāve visited here many times but this stands out for great choices. The coffee was good and the hot chocolate was beautiful. Thank you for a great time x
Great local cafe with a healthy menu. Staff are attentive and friendly. Dishes taste great with a wide range of options. Had poached eggs with thick cut bacon on sourdough bread. You know itās a good cafe when they can make great eggs!
Haven't been here in a while. Came on a Saturday at 1pm and still had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Busy cafe but seemed understaffed. Bircher muesli was as amazing as the last time. If Left Field was nearer to where I live, and not as busy all the time, I would gladly come here every week.
Left Field is a local favourite of ours. Be prepared for a wait if you visit at peak times but itās totally worth it. Weāve been working our way through the menu for a little while and our top picks would be the porridge and the middle eastern lamb. Both have a really cool middle eastern take but still feel like Melbourne brunch. Iāve also been known to be pretty boring here and just order bacon and eggs which while sometimes feels like a waste with so many great dishes on the menu is still spot on every single time.
Probably my favourite brunch spot that isnāt too far from my area. Despite not being a brunch kinda girl, I enjoyed the food here thoroughly. The dishes had large portions and it got me so so full.
Seems like left field is busy every time I visit, and as it should be. The quick and friendly service is so inviting. The coffee is here great, I could order them back to back! This time I came I ordered the lamb dish from the lunch menu and I was amazed. Such big portions, bigger than I expected. The lamb was so tender and just fell off. Overall a great experience and Iāll be back.
Food off the menu always is delivered as a piece of art. They take pride in everything on the menu. My Breakfast was delicious and looked as good as it tasted. Coffee was served promptly as we arrived Simple eggs on toast was very simple and looked plain... We needed to ask ( twice) and wait for butter for the toast. This was disappointing although if you want to go to a venue where nothing or everything will jump off the menu at you... This is the place.
Didnāt have to queue today, which was the reason we chose to dine here.
Noise - It is a very noisy venue and although the food is delicious and unique... the noise is a large turn off. Not sure what could be done to try and tone down the noise level however sitting outside in the cold and damp with traffic is better than the struggle to hear company at your table inside.
Left field is a middle eastern themed cafe with a lot of healthy delicious menu items . The smashed peas with beetroot and goat cheese was so delicious ! I love how generous this portion was and would gladly eat this over and over !
Thereās so many interesting, different spaces at this cafe that you can keep going back and have a new experience every time! I went for the beef baos and they didnāt disappoint with flavour although I did have food envy of my brotherās chicken salad š
This place was amazing, I ordered the Middle Eastern cauliflower and it was so yummy, healthy and filling. My partner said their super spiced cacao was the best hit chocolate his ever had!
Came here by chance of driving by on a ridiculously busy day. My friend and I both ordered the pulled pork breakfast, and oh my goodness it was to die for. The flavours were amazing, and the bread underneath wasnāt too crispy. Iād seen and heard so many positive things about left field and wasnāt disappointed. Definitely will be back soon.
We came here on a public holiday and did not wait long to be seated on their communal tables. It is a dog friendly venue with plenty of outdoor seating. It is apparent that their menu has a middle eastern influence. Whilst the menu is difficult to read with that many ingredients in a single dish, it pays off in presentation and taste.
The coffee was decent, hot and smooth. Personally I'd get a double here as I like my coffee a tad punchier.
The food didn't take long to come to our table, surprised as it was totally busy. I had their sauteed asparagus (which was generous), beans and kale over quinoa toast (which was quickly devoured). It had the lot but not overly confusing, a sprinkle of goats cheese, perfectly poached eggs, a spread of beetroot hummus and a dollop of smashed roast pumpkin for natural sweetness. A sprinkle of almond and buckini crumble for crunch and a drizzle of lime for that extra zip. Loved the dish.
My friend's dishes all looked spectacular also and was met with equal praise. Beware of public holidays (15% surcharge) and Sundays (10% surcharge).
Good vibes at this place. Very bright and welcoming interior. Love the layout. Food is pretty stunning and tastes just as good. Always try to drop in for a coffee when in the area. Very busy but worth any waits!
Great local cafe. Nice places to sit outside Lots of healthy and vegetarian options. Very fresh ingredients.
It does seem to get quite busy on the weekends
My favorite part of this cafe was the drinks! We ordered the soy latte and tonic tea š Iām a tea person and dare I say the tea was very nice. It was a ginger, lemon, lime tea and it was very authentic (meaning not from a teabag)
Food was good but mine (asparagus dish) had too much oil and my momās (cauliflower) poached eggs were a tad overcooked. That would be my only criticism but otherwise the dishes looked as good as they tasted š
Service was very good and they are very willing to cater to all my requirements.
Food is amazing, I love this place!! Go here on regular basis and I have never had a bad meal, you pay for what you get. Wouldnāt bother here on the weekends the line is ridiculous!!
Stunning cafe that is worth the hype. The menu ticks every box no matter the weather or mood. Exceptional ingredients served creatively and mouthwatering tasty. They do absolutely everything perfectly from the accommodating staff to the overall atmosphere. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.
Great coffee, cold brew on the day was definitely the highlight. Chicken salad was one of the better chicken salads around. Serving sizes were very generous.

still one of the best pulled pork burgers i have had the pleasure of downing š crunchy coleslaw and mayo with melted cheeese over a BBQ pulled pork in a squid ink bun! šš½ i dare you to find a better pulled pork burger š 9.5/10 š³
Beautiful cafe with great food and drinks. Can get busy during peak brunch time but I've always been very happy to wait for a table.
Great place to grab takeaway coffee also, they make it so good here!
Beautiful fresh food! Being healthy has never tasted so good. Super creative dishes without being too crazy out there. One of my favourite brunch spots in Melbourne.
There is no doubting their presentation here is superb. So much effort goes into making all the dishes look insta perfect. Which is a shame because both simple dishes were quite underwhelming. The porridge was average, over did it with vanilla flavouring and the Bircher was so bland and was served Luke warm. My friend ended up only eating the fruit it was decorated with. Iād go back but Iād probably lower my expectations of the food blowing my mind as the menu and photos initially did
The ambiance of this place is great, the menu offers lots of variety. The food is delicious and combination of flavours is perfect. This place is a must!
Discovered this cafĆ© through Google and itās become one of my favourite brunch spots in Melbourne. Excellent food presentation, generous portion of food and friendly staff.
Be prepared to wait, there is always a group of people waiting outside to get in.
The food is generous in proportions, well cooked and visually stunning. The staff are friendly and attentive. If you have the time Left Field is a great place to have brunch/lunch
Ordered the breakfast board and is absolutely satisfied with the taste, in addition to it being really well presented. Nice and friendly staffs as well.
Healthy rating: 5
Taste:4.5
Service:4.6
Visited on Sunday afternoon around 2:50 which is 10mins before kitchen closed. Maybe it was my luck no need to queue up. A comfy place to sit and enjoy healthy food. Would recommend friends to go and check.
This is my happy place! The cafe is spacious with a lovely outdoor setting, the decor is classy and minimalistic, the staff are nice and friendly (despite being constantly busy) and the food is deeelicious!
You will have to wait, but the best things in life are worth waiting for.
Left Field is delivering up some of the most bright and beautiful cafe dishes in Melbourne. There's a foci on vegetables, reflection of the seasons, and Middle Eastern inspired flavours; the result is well-seasoned, well-balanced and well-good plates.Ā
Service is very sleek and you won't have to wait long for food. There's an extensive, constantly changing menu to choose from. Order more than you think you can eat; you won't want to miss a thing.
Impeccable dishes, lots of different spaces for seating, good ambience and attentive customer service. Really enjoyed today's visit. Couldn't fault a thing.
Came here on a Saturday for brunch and had to wait around 20-30mins, but definitely worth the wait. Had the eggs Benedict, nourish blow and poached pears. The eggs benny and nourish blow were absolutely superb, but spiced poached pear needed a bit more spice. It was a bit bland, but the accompaniment lifted up the dish. Would definitely go back to try other dishes
I came here with my sister a few weeks ago. The wait wasnāt too long. The food and service was good. I had the breakfast board, it was so good. Iād come back again and try other dishes on the menu.
I travelled all the way from north side to this place and it was worth it in the end. I loved eating there :ā) the orange juice was so nice and refreshing as well. Place gets pretty packed, I had to eat outside and it started spitting but I didnāt really mind coz I was absorbed by the food. Would go again if Iām ever in Carnegie
There is no wonder why this place draws a crowd.
Had the pleasure of brunching here after being teased with Instagram posts from Left field of their mouth watering breakfast selections. I ordered the breaky board and boy did it deliver. Good choice if you cannot decide between sweet or savoury. The muesli was so delicious with a vanilla yoghurt that would make a killing if sold in a jar. Hummus was not in short supply on the avo smash front either. I will return to try more from their menu.
I went to Left fields for the first time last week and it was a great experience.
I ordered the southern chicken salad with poached egg and avo and it was so delicious!
The food came out quick and i was given a generous portion of chicken and better yet it was so delicious and moist.
The combination with quinoa, avocado and poached egg went so well together, I will definitely be coming back for this meal.
Service was prompt and quick.
The staff were quite friendly and took down our names, so we waited outside for a table for 5-10 minutes, it is always very busy! But definitely worth the wait, I ordered the breakfast board, which satisfied all my breakfast cravings š Will for sure come back and try other items on the menu! Also great coffee āļø
At last! Left Field has been on my brunch-list for a while :) A corner-cafe in the Carnegie's residential area that is always abuzz with delighted diners. After a short wait for a table on a Sunday morning we ordered:
(1) Avocado and Smashed Peas (w/ beetroot hummus, goats cheese, pesto, tahini, lime & almonds) - $18
(2) SautƩed Morrocan Lamb ( w/ cauliflower, broccolini, pomegranate, feta, eggs & cumin) - $20.50
(3) Super Spiced Cacao (cacao, chilli, cardamom, ginger, tangerine coconut sugar and soy milk) - $5
Each dish was wonderfully moorish and balanced, and the portions were very generous for the price!! It was also great to see some inventive drinks on the menu and I would definitely recommend the Super Spiced Cacao!
Overall, a great atmosphere and very reasonably priced Middle Eastern inspired dishes with something to please everyone :)

Such an inviting and exciting joint where residents can come in for a coffee and breakky with their dogs on lead, bub in pram, and activewear on.
I tried both their magic and latte -- the latte would be one of my top choices for coffee in Carnegie, but I wasn't sure on the magic (double ristretto) - it was heavy and tad bitter.
Their sweet-based brunches have been pretty and enjoyable. Yup, a very instagrammable cafe :)
BRUNCH | We decided to try the Pulled beef and Smash Avo @left__field Carnegie this morning. The portion sizes were quite big and the food was very delicious. The Soy Chai was a bit on the sweet side though! All in all, a very good experience and we will be back! #marinabrunchnmunch #melbournefoodie #melbournefood
Best brunch place! Food in super photogenic and tasty š In addition the prices are pretty reasonable which doesn't come often at a trendy cafe like this. Definitely don't miss out on coming here.

Lovely brunch place every time I drive pass by can always see ppl waiting for tables. Staff there are really nice, food and coffee are also yummy, no wonder so popular. Sundayās weather was good, it was nice to seat outside and catch up with friends. Ordered long black and slow cooked pulled pork!š
Had heard alot about this place and have constantly driven past and seen a line waiting out the front so decided to see what the fuss was all about.
The waitress who served me was friendly and attentive, and the rest of the staff seemed in control despite the business. I chose the pulled lamb dish and though it was wonderful. Coffee was hot and strong too which was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely be returning soon
Super busy on the weekend, always a line-up.
Food is great, great portion sizes! Healthy or not, something for you on the menu. Coffee also a winner.
Recommended!
Love living down the road from this place. Friendly staff, great food and good coffee! Always good for every occasion. Be prepared to wait if you come at peak hours!
The food is amazing and dedicated! Omg so perfect for training people. Healthy food makes me happy all day! And the food is enough for my stomach
Overall rating: 4.5/5
Initial impressions: Queue, dammit. Better be worth it. (Spoiler Alert: It Was!) Cute place located in a suburban area, one of a kind in the neighbourhood.
Food: Firstly, Latte was strong and at the right temperature. A good start, no sugar required :p
TimTam Had the Pulled pork shoulder Benedict. This was delicious and was flavoursome, and the serving size was huge! Some of the best value cafe food out there! (4/5)
Service: Friendly, attentive and welcoming. I like! Absolutely no complaints here, (5/5)
Would return! Great job guys!
You can tell they use good produce. My meal was so flavoursome. Love what they have on offer on their menu and not even over priced compared to some other cafes. Probably my favourite breakfast/brunch spot.
Wonderful coffee and delicious food in generous portions. Service was great and the atmosphere was busy, a little loud, but enjoyable. Located in a suburban area, lovely little corner shop cafe. Would definitely return. Highly recommend the lamb or the pulled pork if you're a savoury person like me. Avocado toast was delicious too.
This place never disappoints! Iāve been here a few times and the staff are extremely friendly, the food was spectacular. It was a beautiful, sunny day and so i decided to sit outside, the food came out pretty fast and it was exceptionally delicious. I would definitely come back again one day.
I have been here a few times and a wonderful meal is always guaranteed. There is generally a wait for a table but not more than fifteen minutes. Most recently I had the salmon. If you like the ocean trout at Top Paddock, you will enjoy the salmon here. The coffee is strong and smooth.
Never disappoints! This is one of my go-to cafe in the burbs. Healthy, generous serving size and super flavoursome! Not to mention friendly staff. Keep up the good work!
Staff are always friendly, lovey ambience for brunch and price is always justified for the fresh food and large portion. A great place for a beginner as a foodie adventurer. Will definitely be back again!
Been hearing about this place for a while now, and every time we drive pass it there was a line waiting outside. So we finally went there on our day off, and we were pleasantly surprised that there was no line, and the food indeed lives up to the hype.
Service was OK and the interior was what you would expect from a typical cafe. But the food was definitely the highlight. Because it was late afternoon, the lamb shoulder immediately caught my attention, unfortunately they had none left. So instead I ordered the Moroccan lamb, and girlfriend got the pulled pork. When the dishes were brought to us, it was so nicely presented, it was like art, I felt obligated to take two pictures. The green, red and yellow popped, and it was as tasty as it was healthy. The combination of vegies, pomegranate, feta cheese and the lamb was perfect. My only complaint is that lamb portion was too little. Meanwhile, my girlfriend was over the moon with her pulled pork, and commented that the Hollandaise sauce was the best she ever had.Ā
I would rate it 4.5 stars and would definitely go back to try the lamb shoulder.
We've been wanting to try left field for a while and finally made it. Yes we can definitely see what the fuss is about. The food is amazing. Huge servings. Great menu and the food has complex but balanced flavours. Friendly staff. Our meals came out quickly too. These guys need to run a course on how to run a cafe!
A quite spot you can stay with your dog! A busy shop, wait is necessary. Lunch is great but after 12pm, no chips here. Overall recommend!!!!
Went here before a road trip and it was lovely! Absolutely busy so we had to wait a bit but service was great and staff were courteous. Food was fresh and delicious. I love how much greens I had on my plate!
I went there the second time last week in a weekend morning, the waiting period was around 20 minutes. Slow cooked pulled pork shoulder Benedict w sourdough was nice. Sauteed asparagus, beans and brochilini w avocado was a very healthy dish, a little bland for me though, and I would enjoy it more if the avocado was not freezing cold. It is probably one of the best brunch places to be in the area.
Consistently incredible food has made Left Field one of our go-to brunch spots. Service has always been quick and the courtyard is a lovely place to eat when the sun's out. The breakfast board is a great option for indecisive people like myself and if the food isn't enough of a draw, you're very likely to get the chance to pat some cute pooches :)
Would i return? simply, yes.
Guilt free indulgence. Needing some green vegetables in my life at the time and this place served up the greatest - "Sauteed Asparagus, Beans and Broccolini w/ Avocado, Peas,
Kale, Sweet Potato Hummus, Quinoa Loaf, Poached Eggs, FetaĀ and Almond + Pistachio Dukkah." All produce was fresh and the flavours were unreal. Although some may say a little pricey, the portion size was huge (i cant lie, i did add bacon). There was a slight wait and we did end up settling for a table outside however its understandable as to why the place is busy.
Food presentation was pretty. Taste was ok but limited food palette- the grilled cauliflower dish and the Moroccan lamb dish tasted almost the same and both have pretty much the same ingredients. Overall ok but average not sure why the high rating. Properly not coming back considering the long wait for a table during the weekend.
Wanted to know what this humble Cafe was all about in suburban Carnegie. It was my first time here at the cafe and boy oh boy I loved this place.
Was packed for a Sunday brunch and few queues followed waiting to dine in.
We had a booking which helped get a table at the back.
Food was amazing and freshness was top notch. Coffees on point with the coffee used and heat of the milk. Absolutely loved the watermelon juice they served.
Pulled pork Burger to Salmon to even the humble potato chips were delicious enough for me to come back here and dine.
Though the wait was quite long the food absolutely delicious. We came here for a brunch with some friends and were not disappointed with the quality of the food and the calibre of the customer service by the staff. Definitely will be back for more, thanks Left field š
Came here for brunch on Easter Monday. I got the beef brisket burger with fries. Oh mayneee, the brisket literally melted in my mouth and it was perfectly rendered down. A sudden explosion of flavour hits you with each bite, then a delicate pickle kisses and cleanses your palette allowing you experience this magic all of over again. Will definitely be back here.

Visited this lovely place for a catch up with a friend - It was very busy during lunch but service was timely. It seems like a Carnegie fave and I can see why!
My friend and I ordered the Poached Pear Bircher Muesli, and Nutella and Vanilla Brioche (pictured). Both were accompanied with fresh fruits. The muesli was a nice light meal, considering I had a large breakfast. I canāt say it was overly sweet - it was just like any other muesli. The pear was what made a difference for me though - as the flavour of the pear (and other berries) gave it that bit of sweetness. The brioche was obviously much heavier, and more indulgent. Presented really nicely. A little too big of a serve for my friend, but a really nice treat.
Only reason I took off a star - it was approaching 2-2:30pm so they were packing up the outside tables beside us which made me feel a little rushed. It closes at 4pm so I also understand the need to clear up and close up.
Spent about $60 for 2 coffees and 2 meals. Pricey, but expected for a lunch/brunch in Melbourne.
Overall, staff were accommodating and quick, and food was pretty good. Seating options were also good - had a bunch indoors and outdoors. Another big plus - itās dog friendly! We had a furry friend beside us outside while we caught up and ate. Water bowls are available so the dogs can have a drink.
Iād probably come again to try the savoury :)

A fabulous place to have breakfast brunch or lunch. East in or Al fresco.
Good menu. Terrific service. Lovely coffee. Great experience.
Street parking only.
not going to lie. Always walk past or drove past this place and always saw a line outside a lot of these coffee shops can be pretentious and overpriced, but this place actually was not only worth the money. The coffee was amazing. I had a soy latte with no sugar and this was the least bitter coffee I've ever had. So smooth the Acai bowl was worth the money and so big that me and my friend had to ask for a takeaway container which they gave us would definitely go back again and recommend The staf are also Very friendly too!
