Two starving big boys popped in for lunch.
Healthy chicken Greek salads and lunch with my mate DINO. Tasty food and great service by a young waitress from Estonia.
We will be back !
Used to drive past this place for a number of years until recent I decided I will stop by for a coffee. I was shocked at how busy the cafe was and ordered a take away. Really liked the coffee so came back a few weeks later and got the smashed Avo for Breakfast which I instant loved. It came with Haloumi cheese and fresh Tomato. Now I come here every week for breakfast and a coffee. Would highly recommend and great service. They even know what I will be ordering.
Also a great coffee and muffin deal. Well done on and excellent cafe!
Came with my wife this morning, I like the chicken and mushroom risotto and also they are flexible with when you order your food even if you order foods listed for lunch time. The serving is just right and the staff are very nice and accomodating. My wife and I will definitely be coming back... :)
This has become our local for coffee. We stop on the way and they really make us and my partner’s dog welcome. We just loved our coffees this morning, thank you
I’ve been walking past this café everyday for close to a year but haven’t visited. Their breakfast was super satisfying. Eggs were fluffy, toast was crispy on the outside and soft in the center, bacon and sausage was tasty. Topping it off with a mug of hot chocolate (not in the picture) on a chilly morning, just makes it like the perfect breakfast! The staff came to serve us pretty regularly and food came relatively quickly. Had an enjoyable meal!
Update: Visited again this afternoon for brunch. We were served by a waitress from Greece. Very friendly and we had a nice conversation. She came by to check with us a couple times about the food. Very energetic and made our meal very enjoyable!

Visited this place for couple of times for take away and dine in.Their pizzas are must to try one.Loved the hot chips and pastas.
Waffles with Ice cream is kids all time favourite
Pancakes were a hit for kids
Friendly Sunday place for a quick brunch
Kids played and Parents had somewhat quiet coffee
Will definitely return again
Thanks guys keep up the Great Job !
Cafe - great size inside with a large courtyard, plenty of space.
Food - I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki, it looked great and came with pita bread triangles, chips, chicken skewers, Greek salad and tzatziki. Everything tasted well seasoned and I enjoyed the dish.
My partner ordered the Garlic Prawns which when it carried at the table, was tiny compared to my main dish. Taste was good but I did feel sorry for him next to mine when he'd eaten his and I was only half way done!
When we went to pay it turned out they had put the order through as an entree not a main dish so it made more sense why it was small. Though disappointing from a customer perspective.
Drinks - I ordered tea which I was disappointed was not loose leaf in a pot.
Partner had a strawberry milkshake which was nice by he prefers a thick shake option.
Staff - all seemed happy and brought water over.
Will defiantly return again.
Amazing food! Amazing service! Couldn't ask for any better. I have been going here for many years and I definitely won't stop coming. Delicious cakes and sweets, definitely my favourite cafe!
Came here the other day with a group of my girl friends and I must say, the overall experience is amazing. I have been going to Del Mar Cafe for a number of years, enjoying the yummy food and the atmosphere of the clean, well decorated, spacious european take. Its unique selection of foods is definitely one to try!! Especially all their homemade cakes...YUM.
Visited this cafe on the weekend and it had a nice friendly alfresco vibe. My dog was welcomed and gluten free options were available. The food was fresh and light, very yummy and reasonably priced.
Came to Del mar over the weekend and was very impressed with the spacious back yard and playground! The kids loved it and my husband and I enjoyed a relaxing breakfast with out the restless kids! Coffee was awesome and the staff were friendly and very helpful as I have a lot of allergies! Will definitely be back!
This is my family's go-to place to enjoy a weekend brunch, a relaxed lunch or just a coffee and snack after school pick up. We've been here tens of times and they're quite consistently good, barring some occasions a year or so back. Most dishes are in the $15 range, and better quality and value than say, Basilico Carnegie or Eaton Mall cafes. The fact that it's busy even though it's off the Carnegie shopping strip means a lot of people come here because of its merits and not just location. And then, the kids menu is excellent...a draw for Carnegie Primary kids and parents.
Very spacious cafe with probably well over 70 seats and a nice open outdoor area. Homely interior with nice baked goods and an extensive menu. Hidden gem.
Love this place so much i go there every sunday for breakfast they never seem to dissapoint me. Great hash browns and love the eggs bennie great food great coffee and great sraff 😊

Having not visited Café Del Mar for 21 months I decided to revisit for lunch today and again wasn't disappointed, although I noticed a few menu changes. On this occasion I chose the lamb fillets served on a Greek style salad with warm pita bread & home-made tzatziki for $21. I again found the meal excellent and in sufficient quantity to satisfy my hunger, great value for money and it was served within 10 minutes from time of ordering. I couldn't pick fault with the great service provision by friendly, caring young staff. The cafe is very large with 40 tables (seats about 120) and has a real rustic feel about it with it's wooden tables, chairs and floors - not to mention the beautiful bright mural size painting on the far wall & a new scenic picture display - very calming.
The Juror's Verdict: Food 4/5, Service Provision 4.5/5, Will I return: Yes, I really like this eatery.

Was there for lunch the other day and found the food - salmon, scrambled, capers, onion on ciabatta - delicious. Lots of people there so it had a vibrant hum. Enjoyed our 'HaHa Sauvignon Blanc' and the lemon meringue-type dessert with coffee which finished it all off delightfully. A real find in the suburbs.
Kid friendly and yummy breaky options!. I go here all the time with my 2 year old daughter for catch ups with other friends with kids.
The newly renovated play area out the back and great kids menu keeps her happy :) there is also a fish pond running along the hallway inside which is a highlight.
I usually have breaky which is consistently excellent and decent in size (generous serves of bacon).
I had the open souvlaki wrap for lunch recently and could have easily shared it - very tasty though so I tried my best!
I recommend this place quite a bit. Staff are lovely too.
Great dairy free pizza!. I love it when I go to a restaurant I don't know and order a cheeseless pizza and it comes out delicious!
Too many places don't even try to think about the person eating the pizza, they just routinely put the ingredients on the pizza base, minus the cheese and voila. The result can be terribly dry and boring.
Today for lunch I randomly went to a place called Cafe Del Mar in Carnegie, Melbourne and had a pizza whose name I cannot recall but it sounded like "tomato". It was one of the best pizzas I have had. The crust was delicious and the pizza was as moist as it should be, topped with fresh and tasty ingredients such as eggplants, sun dried tomatoes, herbs (I forgot the other ones!) and enough tomato sauce.
It seemed to me that they actually cared about making a tasty and enjoyable dish.
New area out the back is great, especially for kids.
Really nice breakfast. I order the benedict with a side of spinace and I must say the ammount of times cafes get something so simple wrong is astounding! But the benedict I had there the other weekend was really good and I had no issue with the service so I will be back!
I've had coffee here few times but unfortunately not impressed ! Badly frothed !
Re opened Cafe Del Mar. Went to cafe Del Mar the other day after it has re opened and has been extended. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the lamb salad. We both enjoyed the meals and coffee. They now have a pizza section for eat in or take away. The pizza that I saw saw look tempting and will try soon. I have been told they are looking for a chef for night meals which they will open very soon and will be catering for late night meals late in the week possibly Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. It looks very refreshed with the new renovations. The satf are very accommodating and polite to us (we have been going there since its inception) and we have never had a bad or off meal. I have read some the the other reviews and I disagree with some of the "bad" comments made
10/10: friendly and engaging staff, well made hot coffee, breakfast delivered quickly and steaming hot, couldn't have asked to a better start to the day
Very pleased. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Great menu with a lot to choose from. Also fantastic outdoor courtyard kept the kids entertained while my husband and
I enjoyed a relaxing brunch!
Came in for breakfast on Sunday with a table of 8 only had to wait 20 mins for beautiful breakfast!! Staff were very helpful and friendly we will definitely be back!!
OK basic breakie. Only tried the place for early Sunday breakfast. Coffee is good, home made muffin is excellent, prices are OK.
Difficult to work out what they are trying to be with the weird decor and food influence being either Spanish, Greek, Turkish or straight Australian. I was not impressed with their take on the baklava, too heavy and no crunch.
Had the fried calamari and poached eggs on sour dough with avocado tomato ham etc . Service was good and reasonable prices with a good menu.
Went with a friend and her daughter (18 month old) for breakfast the other day and was pleasantly surprised by the food and coffee given the kitschy decor. Great children's menu with lots of space and a little playground outside for them. I had the fruit salad which was very nicely presented and reasonably priced. Coffee was good.
We ordered fish and chips for lunch for valentines day today. Service was friendly, albeit a little slow. Meals were very yummy though! The interior is painted to reflect an island resort /
ocean view. We have visited the Whitsundays so it brought back tropical memories - I liked it. There is definitely room for improvement but on the whole it is a nice little place.
We went here for the first time today. Everyone was extremely friendly. We were asked straight away for our coffee orders and when I asked for salmon instead of ham with my eggs bene it was no problem at all. The food came out so quickly, we had barely began our coffees!! Judging by the number of people in and out the door this is a hugely popular cafe with plenty if regulars! Hoping we're going to become one of the regulars too.
Gr8 place. I had a coffee and breakfast today, coffee was superb and i had brushetta for breakfast which was good as well.nice interiors with beach theme, huge backyard as well and kids play area as well..with the plans of expanding and opening for dinners as well soon. lovely and friendly staff.will definitely come back..
