Review Carnegie Korean Bbq Restaurant - Carnegie

Never miss this when we drive to Melbourne from Adelaide. Use to go here when Back since 2011 still very good quality and amazing staff. Don’t forget to add extra octopus. Mouth watering. I am a fan of Korean BBQ and have tried many places. This joint doesn’t top any other.

As far as DIY bbq buffets go, Korean BBQ is up there with plentiful. Gourmet BBQ has a huge selection of meats and even octopus that you can cook to tender perfection in front of you. Marinade flavours are tasty and all the usual Korean suspects are there. The bibimbap bowl is delicious and definitely not your average rice on the side. Tofu and seafood soup is light and the tofu melts in your mouth. A small serve of dumplings also went down very well. The grill plate is quite unique, in that it does not smoke a heap. So unlike other KoBBQ places where you have to yell over the sound of your table's exhaust fan, you actually get to chat whilst you're grilling. Staff are super friendly and kept trying to get me onto round two of meats. Believe me the first lot of meat that is brought out is/was plenty. You even get a scoop of ice cream to sweeten your pallette after the meal - if you still have room.

A friend and I visited early last week and ordered the buffet. It is really good value for money with high quality ingredients served. Our server, Yuna, was really friendly, hospitable and helpful when it came to making recommendations and cooking the food on the hot plate. She deserves a raise! Thanks Yuna and team!

This place is the worst experience for Korean BBQ in my whole life… We ordered buffet which costs about $42 per person but they served tons of food at the beginning and you have to finish them first, you cannot choose whatever you wanna order from the buffet menu. (Staff don’t even explain before we order.) However they don’t even serve the food on menu properly, we had to ask them to bring some seafood. The quality of food was horrible…no joking…the color of beef was just dark brown. Even though Kimchi was nothing taste but only sour and spicy. And to top it all off they only turned the fans on after we finished eating…! I cannot believe why this place received good rates…maybe from the people who never had Korean BBQ before? The staff are unfriendly and zero hospitality, they are not even Koreans. If you don’t like the job, just quit and find another job makes you happy! Never ever come back.

Service average, food average. They give you a lot in the buffet however l, 1 serving would be enough for two people. So much food left over that they don’t let you take it home. All the food this place must waste is soooo disgusting.
Morgan
BBQ beef, beer, and butane! We opted for their beef buffet option that feeds two people and almost as soon as we ordered, food started arriving at the table. Friendly staff, however, we felt the food was unnecessarily rushed and some of the meat was very chewy.
Grexion
The staff are so enthusiastic and kind! They were so patient with me despite the confusion I gave them with reservations. And the meat is all so savoury!

I love korean food and So far this is worse one we have been I won't go there and won't recommend to anyone. Korean bbq is all you can eat. However they told us all food is limited, no vegi just 2 piece of carrot, 1 small pieces of Salad. Moreover my 4 year old son eat nothing, but they ask us to pay $30 extra. We didn't get agreed. Later my wife ask for soup as per their menu, the replied you pay extra $30 for your son or no soup. That shoking for $5 soup they are asking $30. Well some restaurants doesn't know the value of customers. PLEASE everyone void this place. Korean bbq in glen waverly or in swanton Street are best. But please avoid this place. 0 star..

Food was great, forgot to book a table had to wait about 30 minutes but they were prompt called us to start heading back, and cleaned up the previous persons mess promptly, will be back again

Notice many cockroaches on the wall cant imagine how clean this place is Not getting what ordered Poor service as they got 1-2 staffs Never want to go they again
Krissi Davis
Wouldn't serve us even though we arrived over an hour and a half before closing. Won't be coming back

I love the place! Service is perfect, food are marinated well~ I will definitely come again

I love this place so much! All day I dream about korean bbq

The food was good 2 stuff was good but 1 was really bad she keeps giving us attitudes and just dump things on table and if we ask for something she pretend to not hear or just grab it and dump on table

Always a pleasure to have Korean BBQ here.

Great food, reasonable money.

Nice food

None of the meats were fresh. Strangest sauce. I knew I came to the wrong place as soon as they brought out the first set of meats. I'm sorry. I rarely leave bad reviews unless it's actually atrocious.

Worst Korean BBQ than ever before. The meat is not fresh and taste salty. The waitress is too busy to look after every table. The green tea ice cream is too bitter. The service and food don’t match the prices. You just can order dessert once and it must after you finish your all meat. It’s totally not worth to go here. Won’t come again never!
Gladys Seah
The meat was not fresh and very tough. The marinate taste nothing like Korean food. They used frozen seafood for the tofu seafood soup. It was very salty and again taste nothing like Korean food. Will not come back do not waste your money.
Jasmine
Come with low expectations and leave satisfied.<br/><br/>Ordered:<br/>🍴 Gourmet Buffet: $38.50pp<br/><br/>Review:<br/>Top 3 highlights would be: the spicy chicken, bean shoot side dish and black bean ice cream dessert.<br/><br/>Luckily I took a photo of the menu, so I could pull them up on our delayed entree dumplings and the dessert icecream. I saw many patrons leaving after meat... people! There is more!<br/><br/>Service was quick, and when they realised you had something more to add they didn't shy away - loved that. Although the meat wasn't quality and your clothes will smell like bbq after (beware!!), it was a decent experience.<br/><br/>Carnegie Korean BBQ do card surcharges so bring cash if you can!

Came to this restaurant as my partner is starving. The BBQ plate is not even hit enough which caused the meat to be not cooked well. Pork belly was low quality and has too many fats.
Hungry Little Dinosaur
The meat is not fresh. The meat is not fresh. Came here against my partners wishes and now I am sitting on the toilet paying for it. The beef was brought out and instead of being red or pink it had already started to turn brown and had a smell to it. The tofu and seafood soup which was $16.50 produced some (what I suspect) frozen marinara mix as I heard the microwave which was one small mushy mussel and three burger ring sized calamari rings. Oh my goodness how is this place not shut down?? The great thing is I have Netflix on my phone but it’s 2am and I’ve been on the toilet for an hour.
Burgers Of Melbourne
Came here with my wife for a night without the kids. A nice experience with good quality meat and seafood. You definitely need to pay attention while eating here as a bit too much chatter can cause over cooking.

Absolutely delicious Korean BBQ! There was a fantastic range of quality meat and unlimited sides of bean shoots, seaweed, kimchi and fried tofu. Great value restaurant that doesn’t look like anything fancy, but well worth a visit.

This place has been a life long trip from the Westside (especially for my sister) but we have been thoroughly disappointed, the flames of the stove was just hot enough to warm the stove for the food to steam and bubble along.<br/>The staff tried changing the gas canisters a couple of times as our food took an extremely long time to cook and even then, ended up being dry and light in colour.<br/>At no point did our food sizzle as it should.<br/>Really disappointed in this place, deteriorating rapidly.
Leanne
Didn’t get what i expected. Service was mediocre. It was busy and they only seemed to only have 2 waiters and i asked for water and they never gave it to me. Also i then asked for sauce as my meat was bland and had no flavour, sauce also never came to my table. <br/>Left very disappointed.
Yuiisama
I'm sorry but do yourself a favour and go to Mrs kims down the road if you're looking for kbbq. Although that being said Mrs kims has also deteriorated over time...<br/>This place serves incredibly unfresh meat. Honestly I understand it's hard to keep meat fresh when you're doing an all you can eat restaurant.<br/>Gross food. 0/5 if I could. Sorry.
Aimshu.1
All staffs were act as if we begged for their food. One star for ‘good vibes’ ‘good place’ for meditation because none of the staffs will show an acknowledgement of your existence. You can do whatever you wanted. They are just DONT care. Nice smiley emoji shirt which brings me hope that they will know how to smile and greet customers(in the future maybe).
Jamescomedywang
The worst service I have ever experienced in Melbourne. No exact opening hours. From PM to 10:30? What PM? I went to the restaurant at about 8:30 and stood at the front for 5 minutes without any service. Finally a staff found me but I was been told the kitchen was closed?! Then I asked another staff and she told me there was no tables available anymore but there were obviously at least two tables vacant! I never meet that ridiculous restaurant before, so was that my problem that they just didn’t wanna serve me any food???
Amy
Food was below average but the service was worst. Staffs was not willing to help us when we needed something especially this tanned woman, middle length hair. She refused to change our plates when it was looking like this and gave us attitude, never again. Hope I don’t get food poisoning..
Fiona.211q
The BBQ tastes good, the waitress has an arrogant and lazy attitude! But the Chinese waitress and the Indian waitress is good. Staff's attitude do affects our appetite:(<br/>
Sue
The food was fine and would normally have been rated higher, but the service and care factor by staff was poor. The evening was overshadowed by the fact we had booked a table but when we arrived, we were told they didn’t have enough chairs - no apology, no offer of a discount...nothing. We ended up being allowed in the restaurant almost 30 minute late, and had to wait out in the street until they managed to find some more chairs. We would have gone elsewhere but other places nearby were clearly booked out and we had made our booking for a birthday celebration.
Steve Drakeo
I don't like to give one star but this is called for.  Waited for service and it took ages for food to be delivered. Get more staff if you know it's fully booked. Meat was below average with limited choices. Staff are rude and ignores customers. Waited fifteen to twenty minutes for extra food or a change of the hot plate. We were a party of five, we should have gone next door to the other Korean restaurant yami yami. So much better. We left there still hungry from all the waiting and dissatisfied with the poor, I mean lack of service. If you'd want to waste your money and be upset then come here. There's an all you Can Eat Korean buffet in North Melbourne that's ten folds better than this place.
Kevin
Very terrible experience! All the meat are not fresh. One of the staff is very rude! This is absolute the worst korean bbq that I have eaten in Melbourne. No idea how this restaurant can get 3.7 point?
Blair He
Bad experience with the BBQ set menu.<br/>To be honest, I don't understand why there are so many people here choosing the set menu. It looks good but all meat is not fresh at all. So many tendon even though for the beef slices. Soooo hard to chew....and the wired smell of the meat.. So many good place to go around this restaurant. <br/><br/>The fire is too low, I have to wait 15 mins for a non-flavoured chicken.....Not a good atmosphere for BBQ lover. <br/>For customer service, only 3 staffs here and keep forgetting my orders. Meat come first and entree comes later.... 🌚 One Korean girl who is a little bit fat is very rude! I just ask a simple question because I waited the cooked meat for so long. She just told me "Wait!". Jesus! Never come back again. 🙄
Clara
Not a bad feed for $35.90 all you can eat Korean BBQ buffet. A decent selection of different meats, soups and gyoza dumplings. The pork belly & sliced beef and octopus were tender but needed seasoning with sauces. All you can drink Korean beer for $14 was also good value. Don't expect amazing service here though, staff were hard to get attention of throughout the night. Good experience for groups
Food Junkie
All you can it Korean BBQ set menu. It comes with a variety of other dishes to accompany the meats. Bibimbab, soups, and gyoza included. <br/>Great place to have a meal with friends and family. Don’t wear anything fancy because I don’t think the smoke suction thing above us actually works.
Kaseyzz
Try the buffet $35.5 pp here and definitely can serve you very full with unlimited meat. Ox tongue is extraordinary as well as the beef. It will be better if meat can be salted with any sweet sauce. Staff r nice 👍

Unfortunate experience at this Korean BBQ Restaurant. I took a photo as I have medium to large private events coming up and wanted to showcase the restaurant as a possible venue to family, friends and associates. However, the woman at the counter objected to the taking of the photo. It was a poor experience considering I was careful to angle the photo so the only customers at the back were hidden behind the table ventilation. Most restaurants are happy to have photos taken and put on social media. I left without having lunch as it was very awkward being there.

We had a great night , the whole cooking in front of us was a new experience for us.<br/>The meat was cooked perfectly with a bit of help from the staff, good location easy to park, well worth a visit a good social fun night.
Pontia94
My biggest disappointment of the night is the service. It is a massive buzz kill and when you ask for something you would expect it to arrive the first time you ask. My husband got his rice and he told them it was cold and one lady turned around to us and said if you stir it it’ll get hot. 2 seconds later another lady came apologized and got him a new rice dish which was actually hot this time. Out of all three staff working tonight only 1 was friendly and smiled when your spoke with her. Everyone else just seemed to wish they weren’t there. <br/><br/>It is common sense to let the pan heat up abit before you start to stick meat on it. Well for one staff member that is not the case, her excuse being oh it’ll get hot really quickly tho, yes t will but all out meat is now stuck on the pan... yummmmm burnt meat :/ <br/><br/>Food is average, for the price you pay you’d expect quality meat. <br/><br/>All in all we don’t plan on coming back!

What a wonderful experience🌚<br/>Reading the reviews from other costumers who had a horrible service here, I have so much to relate, and maybe we are talking about the same waitress?<br/>She didn't even give me a chance to "appreciate" her terrific attitude to costumers in person this time, and shutting my calls. Still in confusion why we got to this even after replying yes to all her "Do you understand?" questions. <br/>This is a great challenge to all you who would like to test your luck--maybe she would be in the mode when YOU are calling or asking for a favour. Anyway I'm out 🙃<br/>

This was my first Korean barbecue experience, I'm obviously well late to the game. I liked it, Not take me home on the first date but solid enough. The accompaniments were tasty especially the kimchi. The marinated beef was the tastiest of all the meats and the all you can drink cans of beer is a must if you can fit as many as you can in an hour and a half! Good deal though.
Bibee
Extremely disappointed! The food has no flavor. It's not charcoal grill so I won't say this is a real barbecue. The food gets very oily after cooked on the fry pan. I had diarrhea when I got home. The staffs there are not friendly at all and they won't show you any smile. The staffs are not Korean, so you can't expect too much from this place. By the way, they don't have everything on the buffet menu and they won't tell you unless you ask them. I won't go back to this place again, it is just wasting my money.

Will never come back here again. The waitress's attitude are horrible. They have "smile" on their shirts but they did not smile at all. When we asked for something, they did not come to us straight away even tho the restaurant wasnt busy. The food was not too bad but we had to pay extra for veggie if we wanted more (and they call themselves all you can eat). The grill plate is bad quality. The moment we put the meat in, it sticked so bad that we had to scratched it out which made the meat looked terrible. They told us to let them do it (flip the meat and cut it) but they took so long that we'd rather do it ourselves. And like i said it wasnt that busy. I saw a waitress on her phone.

Verdict: Overall not worth the money you paying for - Buffet is about $36 per head and with the same or less price, I can name at least 5 K-BBQs that has bigger portion, much nicer meat quality, better service and crispier store ambience. <br/><br/>Against:<br/>1. You are only allow to change the hot plate ONCE, even it is completely burnt out. <br/>Paying for buffet price = got more meat but no plate for grilling = how does that make sense???<br/>I get it if restaurant wants to save water or time - GET A PIECE OF WHITE RADISH to scarp that! Used by plenty of Korean restaurants and works perfectly fine.<br/>2. Meats are all cheap cuts - for above $30 per head K-BBQ you can now often find cuts like L.A steaks, wagyu steak or chicken ribs. Not in here.<br/>3. Veggie basket is the same size, not matter you have 2 or 5 ppl attending the buffet. I'm paying for per-head price here. <br/>4. Fish cake side dish completely dried out and hard to chew - feels like it is out & uncover for a whole day or two. <br/>5. Surcharge on card payments - and NOT written in anywhere in the shop. That's very dishonest business practices ... Get real here, business owner , if I'm having a 5 ppl dinner, do you seriously expect me to carry a few hundred dollar cash on hand?<br/><br/>I have been the customer of Korean BBQ, for both the Box Hill and Carnegie store, for at least 10 years now. The problem is, however, the business practice DOES NOT CHANGE with time yet price goes up so much. I still remember this same buffet set being $24 and it was one of the cheapest in Melbourne. People do not demand much when you are cheap - and obviously the reality becomes $36 ppl and really pricy in the market. Well, go figure!
World Eats Food
My friends and I love coming here for the all you can say buffet Korean BBQ! It's the best and they come with dessert either ice cream or fresh fruits. Sometimes it does get quite busy and you might have to wait for a table, especially if you're a group of 4. Highly recommend this place if you're hungry and love Korean BBQ! And it's value for money!

The Worst Buffet KBBQ experience for 40$ Per Person.<br/><br/>The selection of meat you get are all low quallity. Not even a nice addition of a one off high quality beef for example. <br/><br/>The staff just ignore your pleas to stop piling food on your BBQ/let you cook at your pace. <br/><br/>Will not be coming here or to the Boxhill branch for this korean BBQ. Avoid it! Go somewhere else! Treat yourself better. The Buffet is not worth it.<br/><br/>You could probably go somewhere else with quality meat and better service for the same price if you just order what you want.
Wanda.
Worst experience ever , no really buffer !!! Everyone wanna book dinner here should seriously read reviews first !!!!!<br/><br/>Hidden cost after first round. Be careful $35.9 is not real price . AND MEAT IS NOT FRESH , customer service is very poor. Veggies need to extra charge if you wanna one more serve ( 2 whole small mushroom , 2 slide sweet potato and half onion for 5 ppl to share ),hot plate for BBQ only can be changed once even it burned so badly , ox tongue tastes like plastic, beef diced is sooo hard like rock even inside still raw, pork belly taste like has sitting in fridge for six months. nothing really impressed

This is the worst restaurant that I ever been to in my whole life. Everything here are more than disappointing, they are disasters. <br/><br/>First of all, the food: we didn't order buffet and set menu. Instead we choose three different kinds of meat separately. <br/>1. The pork belly, all fat and had not been processed before served, taste like a big chunk of disgusting oil&fat combination. And the most important thing is, they didn't come with lettuce or pickles, which I believe are essentials in grilled pork belly. <br/>2. And there is beef brisket, also terribly made, taste like they have been cut and processed a week before. When we grilled it, it's all dry and tasteless. We had to throw them all. <br/>3. Sides. I know I shouldn't be complaining about the sides since they are free. But the tofu slice ( don't know how it actually called, just some slices of tofu with kimchi source on them) is nothing like what I had in any Korean restaurant. One thing I'm sure of is that the sides are not freshly made, they have been made at least two days before.<br/><br/>Funny thing is, I haven't even get to the worst part.<br/>The customer service here is by far the worst I ever seen:<br/>1. This isn't the first time I've been here. 6 months ago, we had one dinner here. They arrange a table right by the entrance of the kitchen. This didn't irritate me at all, what made me furious was they let us sat there for 40mins unattended. When they finally noticed us, it was too late and we had to order something quick. So we order bimbiba instead of BBQ. Then, I swear to god, the waitress rolled her eyes and said: "really? You came here just for the bimbiba?" I do not have words for that and we had a terrible dinner that day.<br/>2. 6 months later, we decide to give this restaurant an other shot. But there're no improvements what so ever. It get worse. I asked about the special, the waitress who wear a glasses just point at the menu vaguely and then she just WALK AWAY! Seriously?!?!?! I'm a customer and I haven't done asking, you just LEAVE to serve another table? So does it mean we do not have the rights to ask all we can do is just order?!?!?!?! After 10mins, she went back after we called her like a thousand times, she took our order but before we can ask for drinks she just leave again. I understand sometimes the restaurant can be busy, but you can't just leave a table before you finish ur job!!!! She talked to us in a mean way and no smiles throughout the whole service. Is that how you do hospitality?!?!?!?!<br/><br/>Every dinner in this restaurant ruin my night. Won't be there again.<br/>
Cynthia Giang
All you can eat KBBQ - quite decent with the marinated meats although a little heavy and filling. Service is efficient, and self cooking is part of the fun. Service was also really friendly.
Han Xiu
I can't believe that keeping customers waiting outside for such a long time in cold. And the point is there are at least 4 tables available!!!!
Albert Cheng
I can only comment on the food not the bbq. The food was below average, very oily Jap Chae and the pancake was full of flour. We also found a piece of plastic in our food! Wouldn't come back....
Jack Constantin Wood
Good value if you can eat a lot. $35 for all you can eat Korean BBQ and it's not too bad. The place can be busy and you might need to wait for a while to get served tho. I think there's a 90 mins limit but when I went there, I don't think they count it for us. This place is a bit different from other Korean bbq as most of the time, the waiter won't BBQ for you, you gotta do it yourself however I prefer doing it on my own. The meat was ok, nothing special but pork belly is my favourite. The ice cream at the end was amazing, Rick flavour.

Never see a restaurant with such rude attitude. Found the restaurant on Zomato this morning and my bf try to make a booking just half hour ago, trying make a booking for two people, then staff told him they don't accept booking for just 2 people, and then my bf asked what can we do if it's fully seated when we arrive, the staff asked for his name, then hang-up the call straight away after he answered.<br/><br/>it's really annoying, my bf thought it might be just disconnected, then call them back, no one answered the phone. the third time, they finally picked up the phone, and we asked has the booking made successfully, the staff answered: you need to be punctual, then hang-up the phone again.<br/><br/>we were just trying to find a place nice to spend a Friday night, and this is very disappointing and annoying. no matter in what situation, such responses are extremely rude and unacceptable
Fifi Dee
Be sure to read the fine print because the buffet is not what it appears to be and they do not have all options available. Bitterly disappointed. Will not be returning.
SingYao Ting
Disappointing meat quality. Beef rib were so tough (not overcooked) feel like we chewing rubber band; perhaps the meat are from old cow. Service was prompt.
DAMMIT JANET I LOVE FOOD
There are 2 all-you-can-eat options: the Standard Buffet ($31.90) and the Gourmet Buffet ($35.50). For a few dollars more the Gourmet Buffet offered a greater selection of meats, soups and dessert, so we ended up opting for this. We initially wanted to try all the different meats however this turned out to be impossible as there was simply too much food! The meats that we did manage to try included the LA Beef Ribs, Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef, Diced Beef, Non Spicy Chicken, Pork Belly, and Spicy Pork. The only meat that did not take our fancy was the Diced Beef as it was super tough and extremely difficult to chew. The staff were friendly however unlike some other Korean BBQ places, they don’t help out with any of the barbequing (which was fine with us). In any case, the all-you-can-eat options here are perfect for all you carnivores out there.
Zena Anagnostopoulos
We didn't even make it to the restaurant! I'm so disgusted! My husband called to make a booking, the second he said 2 adults and a child he was told they were fully booked out! I called 5 minutes later to book for 2 adults and I was asked what time? 8pm? I then asked why there was a table available for us when u told my husband it was booked out? She had no explanation for me, and asked if I still wanted to come at 8. If you think I would ever consider going to your restaurant again you have another thing coming! I have never ever been so annoyed!!! I would give 0 but that wasn't an option

This place looks neat and clean. They have two different buffet set, one is 31.5 and the second is 35.5 dollars per person. We chose the 35.5 one because we love ox tongue, and wasn't disappointed. We ordered everything on the menu from the meat section. <br/><br/>Pros: <br/>Fast and responsive staff<br/>Food is well marinated<br/>Generous amount of food (we didn't have to re ordering) <br/>On a Sunday night no staff was chasing us away (we were there for 1.5 hours)<br/><br/>Cons:<br/>The sizzling plate is not non-stick, so at the end of the meal it was quite hard to cook <br/>Oil was jumping everywhere<br/>Toilet environment was not so good.. (No toilet paper, st<br/>Using card costs 2% more...... <br/>No one keeps track on what meat they are giving you, so we wouldn't have a clue of what we missed<br/><br/>Generally good is great, but if they could explain what we are having that would be fantastic. :)

feeling hungry and craving for something haven't had for awhile we ventured back into Carnegie to hunt for some decent Korean BBQ. Decided on this venue based on reviews. Got there early during opening.. we ordered the deluxe buffet with all u can eat meat! Great deal at $33 each. U also get one of either bibimbap / seafood bibimbap / some varieties of spicy soup and ice cream as desert. 90 min to finish. We went all out. The waitress kept in bringing us what we ordered which was reaally ... I gave her assurance we would finish! Which we did. <br/><br/>All the meats were reaally good. Exceptionally liked the ribs very tasty. 2nd would be the of tongue then marinated beef, spicy octopus... <br/><br/>This one is probably only good for the meat eaters. The veggies given at the start were minimal. Also the sides could be better.. not much variety but I have to say the kimchi was pretty good. <br/><br/>
Linnie Eats All The Food
One of my work mate has never tried korean BBQ and we decided to all take him (road trip…not really!). Miss Mousey chose the place and it was all the way in Carnegie - Korean BBQ. She made a booking and in we went. Since it was a Friday night, we all decided to be naughty and get the rice wine to share and the cups were itty bitty saucepans (how cutie patootie!). <br/>We got the gourmet banquet which was $33.50 per person AND it was all you can eat MEAT! MEAT GALORE! As we patiently wait for our dishes to come out, the sides came out first. Now, these are refillable so once they’re low, get some more yo!
Andrew
A group of friends and I were there to enjoy buffet. My partner who broke her leg insisted to go there. Unfortunately the staff would not let my partner and I eat from the normal menu if the rest were to have all you can eat.  It's not like we were not paying customers, it was only because we were not feeling well. The assistants seemed to understand our situation and repeatedly went to ask, but no leniency was given to the matter. As a result our group of 8 people left. We were offended by their inflexibility.
Simone
Love their all you can eat sets! You can get as much meat as you want, as well as a bowl of rice, noodle or soup per person, side dishes, and dessert! Becoming my regular Korean BBQ joint
Feelinghangry
All you can eat Korean BBQ? Hell yes! You definitely need to be a meat eater to eat here. It's all you can eat meat / seafood...not vegetables. They only give you veggies at the beginning that consists of onion, sweet potato and some lettuce and that's all you get, just one serve. You'd think it would be cheaper for them to give you extra veggies to fill you up on, but I guess not. Still an enjoyable dinner experience that leaves you full and satisfied. Although, one thing to note that I wasn't a big fan of, is the loud music. They've started pumping up pretty loud K Pop, so keep that in mind.
Marlon
Pricing at $33.50 for a gourmet buffet, this restaurant offers entree dishes, a choice of bibimbap or soup and a dessert as well as a great selection of All-You-Can eat meats. For those who often eat at Korean BBQ restaurants, you may know the frustration of not being able to catch a waiter's attention in order to ask for more slices of meat. At this restaurant, the waiters are very attentive and we were tended to whenever I required service. The beef bibimbap I ordered was a great add-on to the grilled meats I was having. The green tea ice-cream as dessert at the end simply tops the entire experience off. A much needed refresher after a big meal. <br/><br/>I will definitely come here more often as my first choice for Korean BBQ.

This place was nice to eat in on a Sunday night. It wasnt busy so i cant really give an accurate rating for service. Staff were nice despite my drunk friend being extremely loud. Beers and food were reasonably priced. Their spicy octopus was on point!

Been there twice, There is always  this  certain 'scowling' waitress who seems to hate people like us. <br/><br/>Went there today at 5.30 pm , got butt out from shop where only one table was filled with people because we didn't made 'booking LOL, having  been there twice never have this problem', Its ok, we just went to the other korean bbq place (Goji House) next door which is quite good as well. <br/><br/>Gf comments she will never go there anymore.<br/><br/>About food, lets be  honest, having been to many korean bbq places in city or suburbs, they have similar taste  everywhere, similar marinade, similar vegies .<br/><br/>We were just looking for some place to fill up our stomach and closer to our  home. <br/><br/>After coming out from Gogi House Koreran BBQ which  almost filled up with people, i glanced at that restaurant. LOL it wasn't even fill up with people.

The service has improved since I last came here. The food is good and it's reasonably priced. I would definitely come back here and recommend this to friends and family.

I feel this place has gone down hill and you don't get the same value you used to. The service is fantastic and I just love korean bbq. Probably the best one around other than heading towards the city. Hope you don't mind the right squeeze as the restaurant is very intimate.

Meat overload! Ordered the all you can eat . Average tasting meat but didn't expect a lot. Would come back here if really hungry for all you can eat kbbq

The best bbq in town. In my experience the meat has always been fresh and the restaurant always gives unlimited amount of lettuce for free. I'm happy paying $30 for just the meat alone, rice is a plus although personally I don't really think it is excellent. Still my favourite korean bbq restaurant.

Not sure why the rating is so low for this place.. its like $30 for all you can eat plus dessert and a rice dish. The All you can eat includes Chicken, beef, pork and squid but has alot of different beef dishes. Staff are friendly and place is small but besides that its awesome value and tasty too.. Definatley recommend this place :)

Best Korean BBQ in Melbourne. Hands down. We always have the gourmet buffet, marinated beef and galbi are banging with flavours! Also, free ice cream is a big plus!

Pro about this place is that u get heaps of variety in meat <br/>Con is that they barely had anything. They really need to keep track of their supplies. <br/>They had no veggies no potato no mushrooms and not even half the desserts. And this is suppose to be included in the buffet that is $33.50. <br/>And the sesame ice cream is not actually sesame flavoured. It just taste like plain vanilla ice cream. <br/>And the only fruit they offer is 2 slices of oranges. <br/>Definitely not worth it. <br/>Definitely not coming back.

Service is horrible here!! Never come back to this store!!

Many a Korean BBQ restaurants can be found in Carnegie, with this restaurant aptly named Carnegie Korean BBQ, but what sets it apart is that it is also an All you can eat buffet - Winning!!.  I'm not a fan of the self serve style buffets and luckily this one is not one of those. Each item is ordered off the menu and comes fresh out of the kitchen for your barbecuing pleasure.  Each buffet comes with a choice of soup or rice combo per person and dipping sauce. You can try and save the soup for when everything comes out but best to have it while its still hot as its one of the first things to get served. I got the Beef soup as I didn't feel like spicy but the Spicy Beef soup was probably a better pick as it has more vegies and noodles in it. (In the bottom right corner) Beef soup with rice Along with the meats comes a little basket of vegies consisting of lettuce, onions, mushroom and pumpkin. Also the standard sides are a given at any Korean restaurant and as per the menu can vary depen

Nice service and delicious food!!!!

Greasy. Food seems a lot greasy then other Korean BBQ in the city.

This place looks cool for the first timer & uninitiated. Grill your own food on the table, how novel. Korean BBQ! The entrees were nice, the beef dish good - though bland & the seafood dish - very average. Emptying a plastic bag of once frozen & marinated seafood onto a grill in front of you is not appetising at all. The service was very cold, North Korean perhaps. It's free to say hello & smile. The waitress comes across as an angry Bull in a China shop. I had a beer with dinner, one beer. The bill came to nearly $60, I feel like they stole from me & didn't even have the common courtesy to be nice about it. There were 5 other occupied tables so perhaps they're doing something right occasionally.

I see i'm not the only person with the terrible waitress. We booked for 3 adults and 1 child*with a baby seat* two hours prior to arriving, when we got there they had given the chair to another table and we had been given a table connecting a table of two with customers sitting there. we asked why there wasn't a baby chair available to which the waitress snapped back "we only have one!", then we asked for a bigger table as we would require a little more room for our child and she replied blatently "NO". then after rolling her eyes she said "do you want this table ?!". clearly by her body language and tone she couldn't give a damn and she just wanted to get rid of us and be done with it. we kindly said no thank you and left. <br/>I WILL NOT PAY TO BE SPOKEN RUDELY TO AND ESPECIALLY WHEN WE WERE TRYING TO GO OUT TO CELEBRATE FOR MY WIFE. WE WON'T BE BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT! the food was good previously and so was the service, this has ruined their reputation. i hope the boss knows the waitress is costing them customers.

Ripped off!. Went here for Fathers day dinner, was 7 people in total and ordered the all you can eat menu for $33 a head.<br/>When seated the scowling waitress seemed impatient and rolling her eyes when ever we called her for anything.<br/>There is a 90 minute limit on the food and these people are very crafty with how the food comes out.<br/>One BBQ burner for 7 people means you cannot cook enough in the 90 minutes to satisfy everyone, on top of that only half the burner is for meat and one half for veg.<br/>The quality of meat was ok but the feeling from the staff was we were most un welcome and they kept staring dagger eyes as though they wanted us to leave as it was 9pm.<br/>Never again, this place is terrible.

Strongly unsatisfied. Food was ok but a bit too small. Service is totally poor! Utensil is dirty as well. Ew!
Helen
Great food! beef setA was amazing, the meat was extremely tender. Service was polite and attentive on busy weekend night. Overall a good experience, will definitely be back!
Gary
Food was ok, service was poor. Ok to try for once but i would not go back again. Food servings were also small.

A group of us went to Carnegie Korean BBQ and they didn't serve all of the promised food on the buffet menu, notably gave us the bill before giving us dessert which they tried to argue we weren't entitled to. Then they bring out the dessert which was not what was on the menu, just one scoop of vanilla icecream! Before all of this and way before closing time, they started mopping the floor with very strong bleach. Bad service. Bad manners. Bad food. We will never go back. To top it all off, the owner basically told us to f... Off! Terrible!
James
Awesome place! Been there a few tilmes with a group of friends & we all love it. Service always is great & the buffet is fresh & tasty. Staff were very freindly. My favorite Korean place & reasonable price. best of best i ve ever tried!

Very poor service. Went there for Korean BBQ with my friend on Sunday<br/>The food was generally ok - about average. <br/>The services are really poor and rude: While restaurant isn't busy on Sunday evening there is hardly any communication from the waiting staff except constantly approaching our table asking for cleaning some dishes. That makes the whole dinner experience a bit rushy and very unpleasant. <br/>If I knew their "style" beforehand I would rather go to Macca's for a burger instead, at least you can sit down relax, have a chat and enjoy your dinner NOT just get fed and go.
Silverfern
BUFFET. My friend and I went there for buffet.<br/>They ran out of some of the choices on the menu.<br/>But the marinated beef n pork I tasted good.<br/>That's fine. i like it anyway
Jehscore
Awesome!!. For just $29.90 for all you can eat, it was bloody awesome. Food kept coming, the service was good, we even ordered the all you can drink for $15. Drank our fair share and left completely satisfied. For a Tuesday night, it was pretty busy, booking is probably recommended. All in all, awesome!
Linja
It was GREAT!. My boyfriend, 2 friends and I ordered the buffet.<br/>I get confused when I read reviews of people saying they left still feeling hungry (I don't understand why) because this place IS an ALL YOU CAN EAT. They just bring out the meats in small portions at a time which I believe is to minimize wastage. You can keep asking them for more meat if you are not full. The girl we had cooking for us even asked us if we wanted more. We asked for two more servings after our initial first round but only got through one and stopped her from cooking the second serving because we were just SO FULL! The side dishes too were unlimited. We kept asking for kimchi again and again and again, and they were happy to bring it out/top it up. The desserts, even though there aren't many varieties (oranges and 3 different types of ice cream) is all you can eat, so you can try ALL of them. We had 3 rounds of desserts to try everything! It was my first time at this place (but not first time doing korean bbq) and I totally enjoyed it. 2 friends (who have never had korean bbq) really enjoyed it so much they'll come back again. Staff were friendly and helpful cooking our food and for the price (all you can eat), it is VERY worth it!
Jason
We were shocked to see the portion sizes.<br/><br/>The food was enough for about 1.5 people and there were three of us. The meal ended up costing about $70. <br/><br/>We were still hungry so we ended up going to the grocery store for some more food and we grabbed some food to cook at home. <br/><br/>Tldr; stingy portions, overpriced

Great food and service. I love this place and have been coming to this establishment for years. I usually order the buffet and the drinks special which entitles you to all you can drink booze for an hour. Friendly service and I love the entrees and side dishes too. Bulgogi and pork belly are my favorite dishes and now with fried chicken on the menu, this is too good to be true! As a long time patron, I can't recommend this place enough. I've been to all 3 Box Hill, city and Carnegie and always leave satisfied and bloated after a fantastic meal. Thanks to the Shin family. Gamsahamnida. Regards, Yuto.

Not tasty. I tried the beef and chicken bulgogi. I feel that the taste did not make the cut. The staff was friendly though.
Mark
Great food and helpful staff, definitely recommend. Food came out fast and was delicious. $33.50 all you can eat, abt 14 different kinds of variety meats are valuable. also rice wine is a must try.
Ran
Great value for money, 33.50$per person for the buffet. I enjoyed the Scotch fillet, pork belly and lots of side dish. walkied in without making a reservation and was greeted with smiles. Excellent service, GREAT food! Definitely give Korean BBQ a try! *two thumbs up*
Sophia
Lovely food cooked right in front of you. Extremely helpful and friendly staff who make the experience easier and more enjoyable. The marinated meats included all you can eat(33.90$) had so much flavour. Having the food cooked on your table is a nice change and as an added bonus you leave smelling of delicious meats.
Jiaying Catherine Xu
Service was crap, the waitress was eating right in front of the cash register, next to all the entrees.

Been there once with my sister last week and im definitely going back next time with bunch of my friends (guess the place is a bit small for large number of people) anyways i had the bbq buffet that costed $33.50 per head and there were various types of bbq we could choose from plus the main dish and the soup. I believe there were more than ten different types of bbq including fresh and marinated (spicy/ mild). The service was great as well as the food compared to the price <br/>Ps. One of the staff there with orange hair is very helpful and hospitalised
Trevor Bell
Meal was okay. A bit on the small side. No option 2 order sides with the meat u cook yourself. Service was quite sl<br/>ow.
Jess Chang
Not a real buffet. Totally agreed with some of the other comments! Only wish i read them before i went. The buffet didnt have everything listed on there and they even forgot one of the soup dish we ordered!

Don't Bother. If you want good Korean food, service and price then do NOT dine here. The 4 slices of Pork neck and bowl of Beef to BBQ came with 4 of the worst Korean side dished I have had. One was watery Kimchi, one was pickled onions, one was a salad with pink dressing and finally can you believe it pasta swirls with sweet mayo. Service was unattentive, only half clearing the table then having to be requested 10minutes later to finish the task, This is not acceptable. Last of all the bought in Green Tea icecream was smeared in chocolate sauce making for an unpleasant sickly way to finish the meal. Prices seemed fair until the rubbish food and service was served up. Don't bother there are now many better Korean places out there.
Lesley Hong
Good place to hang out. Kimchi pancake was so good! definitely going back there again!

Have been here soooo many times! Great food, great service! Amazing Green Tea ice cream! :D ~ for those who thinks that $33 pp for an all you can eat Korean BBQ buffet is expensive - it is no where near expensive unless your on a budget! Compared to other Korean restaurants where if you were to go for the BBQ option, you'll have to pay well over $10 a plate per meat dish! Calculate that! :P mind you, I travel from Adelaide to come and dine at either the Carnegie or Box Hill Outlet only because Adelaide can't compare. So this restaurant is amazingly amazing!! :D 5 stars!!! And don't judge unless you've been there! Don't have a reaction to bad reviews, that was just their experience & opinion! But I honestly think for those who would or have always wanted to try here - go for it! :)

Simply amazing, great food, great price and great service

This place worth going ...i been here like the eighth time and i am going again for the ninth time, Good service, Great food and there manner are well present. i been here with three other of my mate and they love it here. i say its good price, x4 people for just under $150 and everyone is well fed. the place is small but i like it, not crowd! i give this place 5 out 5.
Bobo Blue
Won't go there again. Buffet's almost 33 dollars per person but it's terrible. Can only have 1Dessert for each person. And there's limitation for ordering the bbq dishes. They would say"this's the last one u can have, no more". I wonder what's the point of "buffet"? Anyway, terrible:(
Thomas
The food was ok
Pousie
Not bad. Dined on a voucher. Dumplings were good and probs the highlight of the meal. The BBQ set up is cool, we had spicy pork, chicken, beef ribs and octopus. Beef ribs were the highlight, the lowlight was the octopus but I'm sure we over cooked it. Veges were pretty plain and consisted of a slice of onion. Sweet potato, pumpkin and mushrooms. <br/>Desert was black sesame ice cream which was alright too. <br/>I'm not the biggest fan of Korean food, but this place was alright, would have loved to tried the pork belly! It's a bit of a so so vote but I probs would return for something different.

Food was fantastic, really lovely and certainly enough for the four of us. Service was very good and they were very attentive.
