Well Done to our local favourite. I have been ordering dinner from Basilico about 2-3 times a week since COVID pandemic that closed their dine in section.
I honestly can’t fault them. Food is always delicious. Their pizza is definitely the best in the area with good quality toppings, Schnitzel and pasta are also massive winners.
I tend to pick up as I’m enjoying chatting away with their friendly staff while we wait for our food.
We have used their home delivery and good always arrives before the time specified.
Thanks for staying open, we love supporting you always.
Went down to Carnegie on Wednesday night as we know Basilico has $15 pizza night on Wednesday nights. We have dined here a few times but tonight they had a menu and new crockery which really looked awesome. We took advantage of their pizza toppings and the taste was delicious. Good base with fresh toppings. I even saw the chef cut freshly cut the meats which you never see anywhere. Service was amazing and the staff were very attentive. We shared some desserts and I honestly couldn't fault the place. So nice to see this hidden gem in Carnegie. We need new and fresh places to eat other than Asian cuisine. I will definitely be going back.
I can never commence a meal with some entrees, and what amazing entrees they were. Delicious antipasto, meatballs and bread.. you really can’t got wrong 🙌🏻
We love this place and their gourmet woodfired pizza! 🍕💥😍🙌Remix of the classic with a yummy twist.🍕🙌
Selected mixed seafoods - mussels, calamari, prawns and scallops, spring onion, napoli sauce, cheese, fresh basil, oregano and garlic.
Yummy!
My daughter love pasta of basilico.Good overall experience with Basilico all the time. Consistent food quality and test.Good location.Pre booking is important .
We had an amazing meal here. The staff went to a special effort for our anniversary with a special desert. Great food, friendly staff and great service.
Great Italian food. The usual array of dishes. Wholesome and relatively inexpensive. Perfect for family or casual dining. Always busy so best to book on weekends. Recommend the assortment of pizzas. Staff are very friendly.
After looking at the reviews, we were hesitant to book here and that was about 6 months ago. Since then, We have become regulars and it’s now a favourite. This place is fantastic. My family and I love the range of options, their pizza is tasty and have that authentic wood fired pizza. It’s not your pretend looking wood oven fuelled with gas like other popular places. Their food is fresh and delicious, staff is always friendly. Try their homemade desserts too, they won’t disappoint. Half of these reviews on here are almost laughable, these people are good operators.
A hard earned hunger is best remedied by pizza, and the best cold pizza is Basilico, Carnegie Basilico. Well, not really the best but pretty decent. This particular evening involved putting together IKEA furniture, and anyone who has ever done that knows that it's not fun. A close friend of The Dear Luncher enticed him to participate in said furniture construction with the reward of pizza and beer. The Dear Luncher is very easy to manipulate in this way.
This was the first experience of Basilico pizza and it was better than satisfactory. Ingredients were fresh and the delivery was very fast. Samped on this occasion was the Bosciaolo (good luck pronouncing that) and the Sopressa. Old mate Bosciaolo had artichokes on it, which was a little unnerving but actually turned out pretty tasty. With Sopressa was great, except for the fact that the toppings came off a little when pulling the bugger apart. All in all, there was enough enjoyment in both pizzas to suggest this would not be the last time pizza from this place would be ordered.
The guys at Basilico looked after my partner and I whilst we wined and dined on a chilly weeknight - all of the food was SO fresh and absolutely
delicious, especially the calamari as i am an avid calamari eater, probably the best calamari i've had in a long time! Service was amazing and a nice quiet intimate atmosphere for any occasion 😃
I'm quite surprised by the overall low score of this restaurant. I've been here twice and have always had a lovely traditional Italian meal. Apart from the service being rather slow I can't fault this place.

Absolutely loved the pizza and pasta! Friends ordered mains and they also really enjoyed it. Service was brilliant and drinks list even better! So glad this restaurant is now in Carnegie!!
My partner and I visited basillico last Friday in Carnegie and had a great experience. The servers were very nice and offered their opinions on various meals. We tried the al pumpkin pizza that our server recommended. It was very yummy, full of flavour and thin crust ( my favourite)! They also had specials for the week which included a seafood pasta which was amazing. We finished off the night with a chocolate pizza ( I know sounds full on ) which was coffered with dark chocolate and strawberry a with vanilla ice cream on top.
Really like this place. Dined in tonight but I usually get takeaway and I wish I came here more often. Service was great and staff are friendly and willing to chat which is nice. Pizza was cooked to perfection, tried the Basilico Special and pasta tasted like something straight from Italy. Their gnocchi is delicious.
Awesome place, will be back.
One of my absolute fav restaurants! The service is not just attentive but with a friendly attitude nothing is a problem. The food is always delicious, this time i had the Matriciana and my partner a pizza both were on point. We finished up with the homemade Creme Caramel for dessert which was the perfect way to finish the night. I can so recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great atmosphere with great food.
The aromatic smell of fresh herbs and spices hits you as you enter through the doorway. The food is tasty.. and the homemade Gnocchi Matriciana is delicious... Excellent service ...thanks Mayble... You have to try the Woodfired "pizzette dolci" for dessert - Banana and Honey - served with vanilla ice cream, topped with icing sugar. All finished with an Affogato - Expresso with Ice Cream
Busy and enjoyable. We were a group of six and we were seated at our reserved table quickly. I had the chicken cacciatore which came with a lovely sauce as well as chips and salad. The chicken was moist and went down very well with the sauce. My wife had the seafood risotto which she also enjoyed. Staff were very attentive and friendly in spite of it being a very busy night.
Lovely suburban restaurant.
Restaurant is modern although a little noisy. Pizzas use fresh ingredients and cooked well in stone oven. Staff very friendly.
Tip - You can access restaurant directly from Car Park in the back.
Food was delicious, the place is nice and modern. We went out for after work dinner. The food came a little bit to quick and you feels a little bit rushed. But overall great location and friendly staff.
Tried Basilico For the second time last night. I must say we had a great experience both times. We walked in without a booking hoping to get in and the staff at the front of house were friendly enough and found a place for us to dine. They were very attentive all night and food was delish. Kids had pizza and shared a pasta meatballs which they polished. I had the Chicken Valentino which has the most amazing sauce, it's a must try here. My wife had a lamb salad and a side of arancinni balls that were fresh and tasty....I stole one. Great to see them doing well, they all seem lovely in this place.
Went to Basilico for dessert and my friend and I ordered the belgian chocolate and strawberry dessert with vanilla icecream. It was rich, decadent, chocolaty and so bloody good. Not sure about their food but the dessert was absolutely fantastic.
4 of us arrived here as a family early without a booking but was welcomed and offered a table with no problem. As the night went on the restaurant had plenty of people large groups and definitely child friendly place. Liked the fact it was not noisy and able to chat easily around the table. Menus and wine glasses were given to our table straight away. waiter service was friendly and polite. We ordered the fettucine carbonara where one of my children wanted the sauce with no garlic and no onion. Waiter said not a problem as the sauce is made to order. I ordered the pesto fettucine and husband ordered the chicken snitzel which came with salad and chips or vegys and potatoes. The pastas are just standard sauces but what we had was great! Meals came out in a reasonable time too. Garlic bread is the standard chopped up breadstick but it was still crunchy and fresh and was happy with this. This is a great place to come with the kids, comfortable, easy, your standard Italian meals. My kids had the adult serves but looking around for small kids the pasta serves looked reasonable.
Visited Basilico on Koornang Road, I was really impressed with the selection of food on the menu. Their wood fired pizza is just delicious, packed with flavour and just the right amount of garlic. Our table had the Zia Dianna- a gourmet vegetarian pizza, the Basilico Special and a Salvatore. Really tasty. Staff were nice and friendly and recommended the chocolate strawberry pizza for dessert...omg amazing! Great place and must to go to.
First visit to Basilico last night and I must say it prompt me to write my first review. Made a booking with some friends and I really enjoyed this place. We all had a mixture of pizza and pasta on our table and I couldn't help but to try my wife's gnocchi. It was marvellous. My "Basilico special" pizza had just the write amount of ingredients. The crust was fresh and crispy and the pizza had flavour. The service was really good considering it was so busy. Prices are very reasonable too. We will be back to this place.
We liked this place. The rating is not so great, however we think it is more a 3.5. The Pizza is fresh and very hot. The chocolate and strawberry pizza dessert was out of this world.
Excellent family restaurant, probably one of the more fancy ones in koornang road. Delicious pasta pizza and steak, good wine list and lovely staff with plenty of space for big gathering and prams.
Just moved into the area and glad we chose this place for a feed. Friendly service and great pizza. We were a group of four and shared the chocolate pizza for dessert which was amazing! Must try. Will be back.
One word delicious! Had the chicken risotto and was to die for (fresh basil on top was the perfect finishing touch) and others had pizzas which I tried and thought were yummy too. There must have been some major changes in the last six months because seeing some previous reviews that are negative baffle me, as I have nothing but good things to say about the food and staff. I thought the risottos were actually very generous for the price and pretty good value. Staff went out of their way on a busy night to make sure our meals came out together and were very attentive. Only issue for us has been trying to pick items from the menu, it's too hard, want to try them all (especially as we could see the different dishes coming out to other tables). Am very excited to go back and bring some of my extended family. Keep up the great work guys!
We frequent the Albert Park restaurant which has always been fantastic and we thought to come into the Carnegie one for dinner. Staff were attentive and greeted us and we're very accommodating, we thought to order a selection of entree dishes and with a pregnant wife she could get a little fussy with her taste buds, but everything was spot on. The arancini balls were crispy on the outside and soft on the inner which were very tasty, saganaki was cooked on point ( many restaurants seem not to get it right). Antipasto- great selection of olives, roasted peppers, feta, prosciutto, salami, roasted eggplant, and crispy bread,- YUM. Fried calamari with aioli was great and was really soft. I'll be back again
Second visit: 12/03/2015
Pizzas (Ortolana and Tandoori Chicken) not as good as before, risotto pretty average, Caesar salad was good as per the kids...everything super low on salt. The oven baked ciabatta at $2.90 is still a winner. $100 including 3 soft drinks for an average meal is a little pricey for Carnegie, so no wonder finding a table is easier now. I don't think the menu prices on Zomato match the current menu.
Exquisite vegetarian pizza with an awesome aroma of garlic...that was the star of our meal, and the kids loved their calamari salad. The service was good even though the restaurant was full. Enjoyable meal. I was hesitant to go there because of the 2.5 rating but was proven wrong.
Been looking forward for this one to open after being to their chapel st shop a few times, went there a couple days ago and loved it! Their homemade gnocchi is amazing, just soft and melts in your mouth. My wife had the eye fillet which was perfectly cooked the way she asked . We'll definitely be regulars here.
Great place.. I'm a local and this is what the area needs. Been here twice now and the food is amazing. Really enjoyed the lasagne and also the pizzas are great. There portions are very generous. Will definitely recommend this place.. Well done Basilico!!
Very enjoyable experience. Despite the large open space, the restaurant was warm and inviting. The portion sizes were large whilst maintaining the quality. I had the Osso Buco and it was beautifully soft and falling apart and the sauce was so flavoursome. Everyone enjoyed their food, seafood marinara, risotto was amazing, we were all happy. Highly recommend.
Food is great, chef is amazing! I wanted to customize my order a bit and he gladly did so for me. Was delicious! My partner ordered vegetarian risotto and the chef made it extra special just for him, best risotto ive ever eaten. Waitresses are nice and attentive. Only negative is the boss and her attitude
