I had the unagi don and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the eel. It was cooked well, tasty, and for the price, I'll be going back.
Simple Japanese eat in or takeaway. Basic yet clean with attentive staff. Hand rolls are fresh and they’re happy to make to order if they’re out of anything.
Thought we’d do a Saturday catch up with Mama and the Parentals and head on down to one of our all time fav eat spot down in Carnegie. Mama had been coming here since she first moved to Australia 🇦🇺(over 10 years ago) and from that day on everytime we’d be in the area this would be our go to eatery.
Even a change in owner never swayed us from grabbing our all time favourite noodle dish. Nice clean casual quick eat and go Restaurant with super friendly staff.
From Bento boxes to rice / noodle dishes that are cooked fresh to order to a wide variety of sushi’s readily available. May not be your fancy dining resto but dishes packed full of favours and spice .

JJ's is The Dear Luncher's go-to place for the quick sushi take-away lunch. Not flashy, but always reliable. The entire Luncher clan dines out on JJ's at least once a week. Even The Tiny Luncher has been known to smash and smear tuna/avocado hand roll into his face-hole. The Dear Luncher enjoys the beef teriyaki, and is prone to sneaking a take-away dim-sim. Your Dear Luncher is seeking help for his dim-sim addiction.
Another recommendation from my boss, JJ's (and my bosses tips) are spot on! The fact you can get a large meal and a drink for less than $10 makes it an extremely popular spot for lunch. Even better, the food tastes great! They have not compromised on flavour for the price! Have been back several times since my first visit and am still satisfied every time! If you can't sit down inside though and your food allows, the library court yard right outside is a nice place to have your lunch.
I'm not used to having this much choice when going to a Japanese take away.
Better yet it was yummy. Thankfully they haven't rushed the food onto the counter forgetting the flavour. Nope the still are remembering our taste buds. So I'm happily surprised
I get my lunch from here at least twice a week and i usually have the beef tataki. So good!!!! Marty and all the staff are fantastic and the hand rolls and deluxe bento are fantastic as well.
convenient and economical. The environment is not satisfied and the service is just not bad. salmon is a little bit warm which is disappointing.
Great value, excellent food, generous serves. Great little restaurant located in the main strip of Carnegie shopping centre and two minutes walk from Carnegie train station. I decided on take-away today and was not disappointed. Friendly service with a smile and for $8.00 I had a very generous serve of special fried rice and two mains - enough to satisfy me for my lunch and my dinner.
I really rate this noodle place very highly. Delicious noodles, very high standards of hygiene and polite, efficient and cute staff. A great noodle take away for around $10.
Cheap, yum, easy. I've been there twice and got the same thing on the initial recommendation from a friend, Fried Kway Teow Noodles!
Yummm... I love really thick rice noodles. Dark soy, pork and shrimp... it's a way better version of Noodle Box, and cheaper. I get 2 meals out of one take away if I'm not super hungry. Would definitely recommend instead of spending twice as much on a burger over the road...
Best sushi. I go there at least 5 times a week just for sushi so nice so fresh cheap nice big hand rolls :)
A cheap and quick restaraunt in the heart of Carnegie. Very impressed with the quality, and the service is quick and friendly. Tip: try the combination noodle box with black bean sauce and there sushi, it is Devine.
Another cheap, fast and busy Asian restaurant/takeaway in Koornang road. Food generally very good. Some of the fried things leave a little to be desired. Excellent value for the amount of food one is served.

ordered a pack of California rolls, the staff member that took my order sounded a bit on the stoic side which made me feel a little uneased. besides that no other issues, food's great, backed up by a decent price, restaurant environment is pretty nice too.
Had the large plate with 2 accompaniments.. It was filling with quite a bit of veggies and meat.. All in less than 10 bucks.. This was the lunch special.. Not bad at all..
