Review Lilong By Taste Of Shanghai - Castle Hill

Food is actually not bad - just your typical Chinese food. But, customer service is terrible. It was already bad the first time I went there but still got served. Second time I went there because I wanted to try the other foods but was ignored by all the staff for more than 15min. In fact, instead of welcoming, one of the staff said "excuse me" and pushed us to the side to take orders from some people who sit outside while we were standing at the waiting area to be sitted. For this reason, I will not come back and would not recommend this place because of the terrible customer service. I was absolutely disgusted by the service they provide here!

Have dinner with my family, we choose 4 dishes, XO Fried Rice, Green bean with pork mince, dumpling, pork with bamboo shoots Sichuan style. Dishes are quite tasteful, I won't say No MSG but, it might contain reasonable amount. Still acceptable. We love the dinner. Service are normal. We sit on outside table. It will be much better to provide gas heater. Prices are a little bit of high side for suburban restaurant. It should be much cheaper based on the taste and service that what we got. Fried Rice for $16.50, Green beans with Pork mince $20.50, Sichuan pork for $23.8, Pork Dumpling $15.80 (high side of prices). Portion is medium size.

Food was great despite the price being higher than average. Ambiance was nice but the customer service could have been better.

Good delicious Chinese dishes. A bit pricey. Customer service needs to improve. Heaps mall parking. Nice ambiance and restaurant set up.

Had a reunion lunch with uni mates. The food was very tasty. We had salt & pepper squid and tofu, wagyu beef with terriyaki, yangzhou fried rice and stir fried beans. Definitely worth another visit and more

Went a couple of weeks ago for dinner. We ordered four dishes for three people, which we found was just enough to get us all full (only have a picture of two dishes we ordered unfortunately). Food was served at a decent time and was very nice, we especially liked the xiao long bao. I also ordered a watermelon frappe which was tasty and refreshing. Would come back again :-)

I had dinner over there last night. Two things: 1) all chairs seemed very filthy. Take a look at theirs chairs, you quickly lost appetite in 1 second. 2) the salty duck taste is very wrong. Unfortunately I am from Nanjing which is the city the salty duck originally from. Also the duck was chopped in a very unprofessionally. I would suggest the chef practise how to chop ducks for a couple of weeks.

Went here with a group of friends on a Saturday night! Loved all the dishes, great atmosphere! Stand outs were the wagyu and mushroom dish and the dessert bread dumplings!
Deserves a better rating than 3.9!!

Taste of Shanghai is a name that’s well known across Sydney for very good reasons and their Lillong brand is rapidly heading the same way. We love their dumplings but also that they have plenty of other choices too. If you like both, you don’t need to decide until you’re there. We started with a serving of Xiao Long Bao. These tasty treats were delicious with their soup and meaty filling exploding once bitten. They certainly are a mouthful of flavour. Here they come in a generous serving of eight pieces too.

This place is really authentic Shanghainese food. It's worth more than it's average 3.8/5 stars. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try some Shanghainese food. My favourites were the egg yolk coated shrimp and rice cakes.

First time at the Castle Hill lilong but I’ve been to their other restaurant before which I really like. My absolute favourite is the pan fried buns which always have a crispy bottom and soupy filling. These are pretty much the staple dishes I get every time I visit and I leave satisfied.

Food was ok but nothing too exciting. I think this place is overhyped and overpriced. The dumplings didn't really have flavour or spice.

Love this place. Always seek out their food. It is delicious. On the pricy side though, but worth it ! My favourite is the dumplings and the chilli beef with the pancake ! Yum and yum

Just recently opened, this venue offers Shanghai style Chinese food. Spacious seating area with two private rooms available (minimum $$ spend required).
I came here for dinner with friends and had several dishes. Almost everything that I tried was delicious. Favourites: Shanghai turnip croissants, deep fried crispy chicken fillet, ma po tofu and pan fried pork buns. The mango pancake, however was not that amazing. Too much cream and not enough mango.

Food came out one by one at different times. However, the pan fried dumplings were a highlight. All food had great flavour and wasn’t too oily. Service was a let down as many staff members just stood around waiting to be called over.

Finally, great Chinese food in Castle Towers! Been here a couple of times since it’s opened, and have been pleasantly satisfied each time.

Dishes always come out hot and fresh, taste flavoursome, and portions are decent. In particular, love the sweet and sour barramundi ($26), chilli oil wontons ($12.80) and pan seared pork dumplings ($12.80). Stir fried rice cake and noodle dishes are great too.

Always busy on Fri-Sun nights though, so would recommend coming early if you want to avoid a wait!

Food is quite nice and really not that expensive. The fish I would say taste a bit raw and has the very pungent fishy taste. The interior is quite big and pretty as well, and spacious too.

Taste of shanghai has offered good dumplings in the past, and the Lilong branch is no difference.

Huge restaurant and plenty of seats, 4 of us didn't have to wait long until we got a seat.
I'm not entirely sure how the Lilong brand is different from the others, but the menu is quite similar.

The dumplings are plump and affordable. The chilli chicken is nutty and gives a good spice. Xiaolongbao skin is a little too fragile though, but it's soupy and delicious.

Interestingly, they have a big list of cocktails with a Chinese twist. Was a weekday night, so we didn't get too excited.
We like the food here and will come here again.
