Review Ganache Patisserie Francaise - Castlecrag

Great place for cakes, pies and pastries if you are in the area. I would recommend to do take away as there is limited seating and it’s a bit dated inside. That said, great value for money and excellent breads and cakes.

Best pies and pastries! Been coming here for 15 years!! Whenever I'm around the area I always drop in for a couple of pies...They are Soo good!

Croissants and pastries were much tastier (and cheaper) compared to other bakeries I have been in my local areas. It’s so nice to buy and enjoy such good quality pastries as this shop offers. The staff who assisted me was very friendly too. I highly recommend.

The most amazing wedding cake ever! Everyone absolutely adored it. I couldn't recommend more highly! Thanks again!

Thanks for making our Wedding Croquembouche, it was truly a work of art and our guest were blown away.

Sensational coffee, and pastry brunch. We took a cake to our lunch with friends and it was sensational (mouse on dark choc cake base wrapped in thinly folded white chocolate).

Very nice and very rich cake. Personally loved it but was too sweet for my parents. Their croissants are amazing not too sweet, very buttery and also crunchy. Best croissant I've had so far. The staff there is very lovely would love to come back for more pastry!!!

We ordered the Croquembouche for my sons christening and were delighted. It looks gorgeous and tasted even better. Thank you for helping us create a memorable experience for our family and friends.

We got two cakes: macadamchoco and le tout fraise. Both were really great options to satisfy different tastes.

I prefer more indulgent desserts so I really enjoyed the chocolate one. I loved the mix of nutty flavours and textures. The crunchy prailine base tasted incredible with the smooth chocolate mousse. The glaze was so shiny and the touch of gold shimmer was beautiful.

The strawberry is great if you like lighter cakes. Delicious jam sandwiched by vanilla sponge cake. Wasn't too sweet and the fresh strawberry toppings was a nice touch.

Nice little patisserie in castlecrag serving that serves reasonably priced cakes. Their almond croissant was super crispy but their chocolate croissant was a bit stale and had barely any chocolate. Their cakes are pretty nice. Sort of annoying how they don’t have signs saying what the cakes are and their prices though.

Must be the best kept secret of the patisserie scene. Have never seen them get mentioned in any top cakes & pastry lists from all the "lists" sites, but this is my favourite place on the North Shore for cakes & treats for special occasions for many years. Location wise unless you live in the immediate area, it's really out of the way (probably a good thing for me, otherwise I'll be here all the time). The cakes are lovely, nothing too fancy or out of the ordinary, but solid varieties with slight differences done well. Quality are consistent, yet to come across any duds. Friendly service. The best thing is it's "local" prices, I got 2 individual cakes & an eclair for under $15, you can't even get 2 at a more prominent cake place.

Ganache Patisserie is a lovey French patisserie in Willoughby which offers a variety of pastries, croissants, breads and colourful little cakes. I bought two cakes for takeaway - a strawberry and a white chocolate. The cakes a soft, fluffy but a little too milky (chocolate) and sweet (both).

The best baguettes and croissants in town.
Having breakfast here is such a delight.
Get in early or you won't have any breads to buy.

Although the main lady serving can look quite grumpy and arrogant she is quite nice!

Sneaky little chocolate cake before lunch - great display cabinet in here and was hard to pick which I'd eat first. We got the cake, a friand and a juice all for $12. Great value and would highly recommend.

Very nice cakes, Melted very quickly unfortunately, but the cakes are really nice, they are made with real fruits which enhance the flavour enormously. The raspberry was very sour making the sourness overpower the sweetness of the sponge cake, but overall I highly recommend it to everyone who loves having cake and who doesn't like cake, seriously??!!

I've been coming here regularly for almost 10 years. I think this is the best French bakery in Sydney for pastry and French baguette.
The vienoisserie is of exceptional quality (croissant, pain au chocolat, snail, almond croissant) and I'm fairly sure made from all butter pastry.
The coffee has improved significantly in the last few years.

Didier Sockeel, formerly from La Renaissance, is the man behind this French patisserie in North Shore area.. His croissant is always sold out before noon everyday and probably the closest thing to a traditional almond croissant I've ever found (Originally it's a way to sell some left-over from the day before).. It's soft and had that cakey core with a slight crispiness on the outer top.. The frangipane filling was intense, abundant and moist where it thoroughly greased the takeaway paper bag..

Coming from someone who ordinarily doesn't really like to eat cake (unless it's a $4 Coles mudcake or a $90 opera cake), or will be absolutely content with a sliver; this cake is wow. It was rich, but not so rich that you're put off from eating it altogether. In fact, it's rich to the extent that you convince yourselves that it's not very rich, so you go for another mouthful but lo and behold you realise it was indeed pretty rich - do you follow what I mean?

I have previously reviewed Ganache's little goodies and they are ever so delicious, but now I want to introduce their Macadamchoco. Macadamchoco is a dark glossy beauty and a sight to behold. Some may shun away from the richness and sweetness that this cake might bring, but you will be delightfully surprised. The cake is not at all too sweet but it can be a bit rich, depending on how big a piece you have. Layered with a royale chocolate mousse, chocolate sponge, and a base layer of a sesame praline crunch, this cake is scrumptiously crunchy. Ganache is still as good as the first time I tried it, their goodies are always delicious and beautiful to look at. It's perfect if you want to bring a cake to a party because it will surely impress.

We entered the cozy patisserie and were greeted with plates of pastries and baguettes for breakfast. Yes, that is indeed a caffe au lait in a bowl.

Local Patisserie. I live in the area so frequent this gem. Almond croissants are amazing, as are most of their cakes. Ask the staff what is best- they are very helpful. Bread sells out very quickly though, so get in early. Good coffee too :)

I stumbled across this place looking for a cake shop to take a cake to a friends place. I was very impressed by a special white chocolate cake that I took away as were my friends, but more than that I was delighted to receive 2 macaroons for free at closing time from the lovely owner, who I'd been telling about my few years living in France. I was equally delighted when they touched my lips, because there are many places who tout they have the best macaroons, but these were simply the best I have had in Sydney hands down.
