Railway Hotel - Castlemaine - Photo album

Beautiful rustic hotel in very picturesque Castlemaine, but the food was less than perfect for the prices. Fairly bland presentation and taste to most of the dishes served - there were over a dozen of us and the consensus was similar from most. Staff were extremely welcoming though, so no critici

An extensive specials board menu but we stuck with a favourite of fish and chips which didn't disappoint. A good selection of local w
Doesn't look much from the street, just a country pub, but inside it's a lovely restaurant, separate from the public bar. I thought the food was excellent. Here is the Thai Beef Salad, the Roast Pumpkin Salad and the Sticky Date Pudding.

Staff were friendly and welcoming and very accomodating especially seeing we didn't have a reservation! The meals were fantastic chicken breast from the specials board and eye fillet steak.

Beautiful meal. Quaint and Authentic ambience. Could have done with a little more condiments, but these were supplied when requested. Great dining experience.. and close to Bendigo for a nice evening out.
Even though it was a packed house the service was friendly, fast and the food was delicious.
