Review The Dove Cafe - Castlemaine

What a great find. One of the best coffees l have ever had. Chicken foccacia was sensational, so tasty. Nice atmosphere and l loved the art on the walls.

Went there today with my mum and sister. Ate outside which is probably not for those who own poodles, but we enjoyed it. The meals took a little while to arrive but they were well worth it. I had the beef burger and chips and it was fantastic! I had to deconstruct it because it was so huge. Everything about the meal was delicious. Both Mum and my sister felt the same. Staff were great. Will certainly be going back!!!

We sat outside as the weather was lovely in the cute garden out the back. Such a friendly bunch who work here! We had the pie of the day (beef & red wine) a BLT and bowl of chips to share for lunch. All were very good - especially the pie! The staff were busy bees attending to the steady flow of patrons, but not too much that they couldn’t have a little chat. We will definitely keep The Dove Cafe in mind when we’re next in Castlemaine.

Excellent long black & very friendly customer service. Comfortable inside/outside seating in relatively quiet location. Plant boxes outside create pleasant atmosphere. Easy parking & relaxed vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

Very freindly people , prices are ok , the coffee has been cold every time , so ask for your coffee hot if you want it above warm , also you dont find out your crumbly muffin is gluten free until after you taste it , gluten free products need to be labelled as they are an aquired taste 😬 But otherwise a good experience, coffee is meant to be HOT .

Unfortunately we had booked a special room for a birthday celebration and when we arrived they had given it to a group that was outside and had been raining. We were placed at a table that was so noisy, after several of us complained we were moved to another room but another couple were asked if they minded moving. We had booked that room 2 weeks ago. Thankfully the meal was very nice and a lady I know that works there apologised Just embarrassing for my friends birthday as she hadn't been there before and maybe won't go again🤤😪🤤

This cafe would be good if the management was better... More than once I've been here and felt really uncomfortable about how this one male staff member treats the other staff. The atmosphere here is kind of tense, the coffee is definitely the saving grace but I probably wouldn't go back just based on how the staff are treated - maybe I have only caught him on bad days, ya never know.

We had a really pleasant lunch and they had frozen meals for take out. I enjoyed my meal so much that I took one home for dinner. Double joy. A great Cafe experience. PS. Barramundi is best grilled.

My strong almond latte was really good but it needed an extra shot of coffee as it wasn't too strong. My bad, I should have specified a double shot of coffee.<br/><br/>This cafe sells home cooked frozen meals for $10 which is great value.<br/><br/>The cafe was rockin when I was there which is not surprising as they have some great hot food and our coffee were very, very reasonably priced. <br/><br/>This place is not in the centre of town but it's a must visit.

My favourite cafe in Castlemaine! The food here is divine. The only negative is that they aren't open on weekends. Coffee is great, cakes are so yummy, customer service is friendly and always spot on and their lamb pie is out of this world! Gorgeous garden out the back to sit in. Do yourself a favour and check this place out. Highly recommend.

This is a marvelous restaurant, it has flawless customer service and a friendly atmosphere. When I arrived there I wasn't sure on what to pick there was such a large choice. When I finally decided for I had been overwhelmed with variety, I had a lovely home made Beef Pie and a Flat White Coffee. Altogether it was a wonderful retreat from the cold rainy day! I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Food was awesome friendly staff but the coffee was terrible it was burnt and looking the hopper of the grinder I could see why, the beans were burnt to start with

At the Doveton Corner Store I had the best lamb and rosemary pie I have ever had. Great meat to gravy ratio and good quality lamb. Good coffee also.

Brekkie. Had brekkie here recently while I was here for work , great soy chai , very yummy bread ( sprout bread ) the girl doing the coffee was lovely , however don't upset the cook , quite narky :(

This is a cool general store style cafe with nice fresh food and good coffee. Really nice spot to relax with the paper and a coffee as the sun warms the veranda area. Blts lasagna etc
