Review Wesley Hill Bakehouse - Castlemaine

Well we’ll. I didn’t expect that. The best egg and bacon tart ever had in my life. Alas the great coffee has become just a side kick. Well done guys, you can tell you love your work ❤️

It's more than a Bakehouse.. Grist is a Destination. The Pastries are some of The Best I have ever tried! Considering that I am a Pastrychef/Baker, this speaks volumes!!!! The pies looked and smelt sensational, so crispy. The Sourdoughs oh Yum 💚

I'm not keen on bread but the bread is the best I've had in life. We're travelling but happy to go 60km out of our travels as we head north for such food art.

I stopped in on my way home to Melbourne and tried a sausage roll. It was absolutely divine, the meat melted in your mouth and the pastry was light and flakey. I could not recommend this small bakery anymore, try it you won’t regret it!

Great place to grab a coffee and a pie, pastie or even a sandwich. The pastries and muffins are among the best you can get, and the service is friendly and professional. This is my new go to bakery whenever I am in the Castlemaine area, and I recommend this place to everyone.

Second time lucky in my persuit of the "famous vanilla slice" as advertised on their mild steel gate. Firstly, what a great little bakery this place is; clean, bright, friendly and I have to say their vanilla slice had some great features. Vanilla seeds in the custard was a great start and the thin, sweet fondant were the highlights, but unfortunately the texture of the custard let the slice down.

#golden pastry. After reading an urbanspoon review I decided to have the spinach and ricotta pie with a custard tart to follow. The meal was so amazing I had to go back for a sausage roll, again, amazing. As the great Molly Meldrum said, 'do yourself a favour'.

I will go again.

The best baked custard tart I have ever had! Get up there and get one quick smart.

Blown away by the spinach and feta pie! Beyond incredible pastry, buttery and light. So impressed by their use of high quality ingredients. Can't wait to go back!

I like it, but!. The cake, slices, pies etc are all brilliant but - if you want to eat at one of the many tables and chairs you get a choice, you pay the listed prices and eat from the takeaway paper bags or you pay an extra $1 and get your slice on a plate. That's just dumb.

Good pies, sausage rolls and cakes etc, wish they were open Sunday's though
