Amazing food, service & ambience - best value set menu
I organised a big group for dinner on Saturday night and we had the $55 set menu . Everyone in the group was so impressed with the quality of the food, presentation & generous portions including dessert. We were so full !
We didn’t know there was jazz on Saturday night adding to the ambience & overall classy feel - the icing on the cake of a fantastic night .

FOOD: I ordered the Ricotta Hotcakes and they were amazing! Common Room were not shy with their toppings and it was truly so special from regular toppings on hotcakes! They have it all from tart to nutty to even a little salty from the salted butterscotch! The meringue was absolute perfection and was actual meringue which I appreciated ❤️ The hotcakes themselves were an amazing texture because they were a little crispy on the outside but an incredibly fluffy texture on the inside. The fruits were also not skimpy at all and it was definitely worth every penny! One of the BEST hotcakes I’ve had in Melbourne

The common room was a surprise for me today! It is a cafe with lots of natural light and definitely gives it a great ambience. We ordered a chilli scramble on toast as well as a mushroom number as can be seen on the photos. Food was faultless, fresh ingredients that were well executed. I had a cold press juice that unfortunately wasn’t freshly made but coffee was on point. Service was friendly and efficient. A must try!
Great food and coffee in our local area. Staff are really attentive and down to earth. I’ve tried a few of the items on the menu now and the dishes are consistent in quality and the ingredients are very fresh and well prepared. I think some refinements with seasoning and garnishes could elevate these meals to an even higher level. For someone who doesn’t get all the hype about brunch joints, I can thoroughly recommend this place. It’s decent food, not just for the insta-lovers. (It’s still really presentable!). The dining space is full of light and the tables are always clean and set nicely...that’s a nice bonus for cafe tables which can easily become neglected due to the fast pace.
Service was great to start of with! I got the pancakes and the spiced pumpkin salad and what can I say besides WOW! The presentation was 10/10 and the toast was 9.5/10. The pancakes could have used a little more of a salty element to break up the sweetness but overall soooo good. The pumpkin salad was also a solid winner, especially since it’s a healthy option. Well done!

Located closse by to me I decided to go try it out for myself. While it was freezing outside sitting by the window I was able to soak in the sun while doing some work. I decided to order a latte and the hotcakes. While a little on the more expensive side, once you taste this dish it's wellworth it. Each mouthful was a delight and the dish plated beautifully. I'll definitely be adding this place to my regular cafes.

COMMON ROOM CO has been open for about 2 months now and it’s safe to say they are becoming a popular cafe in the heart of Caulfield - with delicious and colourful dishes, they are definitely one of my top brunch experiences. The staff were lovely and the cafe atmosphere was beautiful.
We had the ‘spiced pumpkin salad’ w/ super grains, pomegranate, black miso eggplant, hummus, smoked almond & puffer quinoa crumble which was soft, and a beautiful combination of flavours.
The ‘Crispy cauliflower & slow cooked lamb salad’ w/ massaged kale, roasted chilli, mint, bare berry, black rice, tahini dressing, toasted seeds and labneh which was fresh, tender and crunchy.
We also had the ‘roasted garlic mushroom medley’ w/ pesto, cashew feta, mt bryon lentils, pumpkin hummus, dried tomato, poached egg on sourdough which was the perfect combination- I loved the cashew feta with the mushrooms and the pumpkin hummus added more colour to the dish.
For drinks, we had a soy mocha (perfect blend of coffee and chocolate), piccolo almond late, peanut butter smoothie and pineapple, apple, mint and lemon juice which was very fresh.
An overall fantastic experience and I can’t wait to go back!!! 🥰🥰
Visited this cafe with some friends last Sunday and I’m impressed!! The staff were friendly and the interior was nice.
We ordered the matcha latte, pulled pork Benedict and poke bowl. Every dish that came was a surprise! Not only the presentation was great, the food also tasted amazing! ☺️ Highly recommended!
We were invited to try this cafe which had only been open for 3 weeks. The food and service was amazing and the stand out dish was the pulled lamb salad. It’s not surprising that the locals have already taken to it considering the delicious food and coffee. Can’t wait to go back!

We had:
Avocado Smash with cashew feta, verde oil, seaweed salt grain sourdough. The cashew feta added a salty texture and it was a very generous portion!
Coconut yoghurt - soaked chia, figs, kiwi, strawberry chards, native mint, brazil nut and macadamia syrup! I loved the macadamia syrup and it tasted liked a dessert, the texture of the chia was also on point!
Fine herb omelette, locally smoked salmon, chill, ash goats cheese, herbs, radish, red elk on sourdough! My friend said it was the best omelette she has ever said!
Great Service too - friendly and attention to detail!
The place was buzzing on a weekday which is great to see, I will sure to be back soon!

This new café in Caulfield is so cool! I love the décor, artwork and layout of the place. The team is super friendly and the menu is pretty cool.
I tried an Oat Mylk flat white which was delicious. I was really happy to see many vegan options on the menu. We tried the Mushroom Medley and the Smashed Avo, which were both served with amazing cashew feta. The flavours of the dishes were beautiful.
Definitely a great place to catch up for brunch or coffee. It feels nice and cosy inside but it is also nice and light due to the many windows. Would definitely recommend!
Friendly staff, food came out super quickly and was really nice. We had the pulled pork benny & prawn bao burger and they were delicious - we will definitely be back again.

I visited this beautiful new cafe in Caulfield north with my mum over the weekend. The location is perfect for parking, convenience etc. The cafe is beautiful with big open windows, plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are lovely & attentive making you feel super welcome as you walked in.
I ordered an oat milk matcha latte which was delicious and just what I needed to warm up. We sat by the window with plenty of light coming in. I enjoyed the smashed avo with poached eggs, mumma had the two eggs “big breakfast” & we shared the chia pudding. All meals were beautifully presented, came out quickly and were large serving sizes!
We absolutely loved our breakfast & cant wait to visit again!
Came by here for a late lunch on the queens birthday. Service was great with our drinks coming out super speedily and our food was a-maz-ing! I had the prawn bao, husband had the beef shoulder, both were presented beautifully and delicious. We’ll be back.
Consistently outstanding with great flavours, great coffee and top service from Ant and Ant - can’t believe how lucky I am to have this at the end of my street! The neighbourhood is loving it already!

We visited the new kid on the block in Caulfield and the place was already pumping after only being open less than a week.
The cafe has a corner location which allows for a triple aspect and they've installed floor to ceiling glass windows all the way around to maximise the natural light. Inside is a modern, sleek interior - white walls, concrete floors and wooden tables. Pleasingly they've used padded cafe chairs which are super comfy, plus help absorb some of the sound.
There's loads of seating inside, plus a good amount of puppy friendly street front seating.
Open from 7-4pm daily (7.30am on weekends) the menu runs all day. They have some solid breakfast faves plus a good selection of creative dishes, and plenty of options for the vegan and gluten free. I love the use of cashew feta in some of their dishes - great for the dairy free. They aim to cater for dietaries however don't welcome alterations to the menu. The prices range from $11.50 for a bacon and egg brioche bun, through to $23.50 for the Cauliflower and lamb salad on the 'lunch' side of the menu.
The staff were run off their feet when we arrived and there seemed to be a few mix ups going on with orders and coffees. It also took a while to get the attention of staff to place orders, however this is their first full weekend so I would imagine this is just a couple of teething issues and probably working out the demand for staffing on the weekends.
The coffee is excellent. We tried the Coconut chia pudding with mandarin syrup; and the Smokey rubbed beef shoulder with potato and kale. Both dishes we had were beautifully presented, generously portioned and good quality ingredients. I'm really excited to try some of the other menu items in the near future.
With stiff competition from the cafes across the street, Common Room Co needed to hit the ground running. With great coffee, friendly staff and an on point menu I'd say they've done just that.
