I eat at this cafe frequently and always am impressed! The food is delicious and the staff are exceptional! The manager is fabulous, nothing is ever too much of an ask of her, and there's a particularly wonderful young girl that works there that always goes above and beyond to ensure my experience is tip top every time. Couldn't recommend trying out this tucked away treasure more highly!
Wow! This gorgeous cafe is quite the find! The food is super fresh & offers a great variety, including delightful healthy snacks to a delicious gourmet meal! More importantly, the coffee is fabulous! Especially if your fussy about your morning brew! Excellent service & lovely atmosphere! Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We came in at a very busy time but staff had been amazingly polite and apologetic about the slow service. We were not concerned about it and just made ourselves comfortable - it was worth the wait. The food and staff didn't disappoint us. And also I love it even more as it's doggy friendly

been coming in for a few years now !love the food the service and Tate thank you for my birthday cake this morning !best place to have breakfast in Melbourne love it !
Lovely cafe - really great setup, lovely staff and we enjoyed the food. Can't fault it!
Nice friendly place with yummy affordable food, drinks, casual, modern, kids and pets friendly☺
I'm allways enjoy my delicious food and in pleasant surroundings .😎💕🙏🏾
The service was really good, staff were really friendly and attentive.
Love the name. Love the food loved the service. Great job guys
Great coffee and the yummy toast with jam hit the spot.
A nice cosy cafe with tasty, non-pretentious food. We ordered the bagel with chilli eggs and salmon. The eggs were flufffy but a little underseasoned. The smoked salmon was beautiful and the avocado cream was great spread on the bagel. We also ordered the brocolli, zucchini & parmesan fritters with curry roasted cauliflower, hummus and a poached egg. It was flavourful and textural. The egg was poached beautifully. The juice we ordered took awhile to arrive and I think they forgot it but when we asked for it it came quickly. I asked for a vegetable juice but I think they brought me a watermelon juice. I didn’t bother to change it. The juice was refreshing and sweet and presented beautifully.
Amazing food even tho they were very busy!! Came in here with my mum, sister and they both loved it.
BEST CAFE IN THE WORLD
IM NOT JOKING
Enjoyed breakfast with my gym buddies and trainer today at Mr Brightside. My corn croquettes with home made beans and chorizo was tasty! Their chai latte was good, too! My partner and I used to go to Mr Brightside regularly 2-3 years ago. Their food deteriorated last year and we stopped going for a year. However, we were pleasantly surprised that the food has improved since and will now go more often! The menu has not changed for years, perhaps it is time for a change?
Pasta of the Day had a faint taste of Chinese stir-fry... and we LOVED it.
Food: 8/10 (Pasta of the Day: Linguine with Cream and Chicken, Mr B. Bowl, Big Breakfast)
Service: 7.5/10
Ambience: 8/10
Pricing: $$
We knew that Mr. Brightside was gonna serve up some really satisfying lunch the moment we stepped in and saw how busy it was even though it’s technically past lunchtime.
Hot chocolate was good, smelled nice ☕️ Brightside Big Breakfast came in a large portion, which was value for money! Bacon was a little overcooked though 🥓 Mr. B Bowl — basically a bowl of healthy foods i.e. smashed avo, broccoli, quinoa, kale etc. — was also solid, no complaints there.
But our favourite was the Pasta of the Day: Cream Linguine with Chicken, Broccoli and Sun-Dried Tomatoes. Mum liked it on the first try and so did my brother and I, and after a while we realised that the reason why it appealed to our tastebuds was because IT TASTED LIKE CHINESE STIR-FRY! It was just the right amount of saltiness and the cream was not too thick, the addition of sun-dried tomatoes and some beans (that we don’t know the name of) also gave the linguine a very faint sweetness. Loved it! This should honestly be on the permanent lunch menu... 🍝
I went to visit my friend and her kids on the weekend and they took me to their local cafe in the area. Wow, was I in for a treat!
🔆LOCATION🔆
Mr Brightside is a corner cafe located on residential street in Caulfield.
Plenty of parking around the corner and the cafe itself has a very warm friendly atmosphere. Very spacious and great setting.
🔆SERVICE🔆
We arrived around 10.30am on a Sunday and the place was very packed, even outside seating was full. The man were looked after us was very kind and made all efforts to seat us (2 adults and 2 kids) within 5 minutes! He was so fast in clearing a table and ensure that we got a suitable seat for the kids! I was also very impressed in how fast the food came out. Within 15 minutes, it was amazing given how busy they were! I cannot fault their service, very friendly, helpful and attentive given the kids need a little extra attention on their food.
🔆MENU/PRICE🔆
There is a great variety of food options on their menu and the prices are very affordable given the servings of the dishes!
We ordered:
Kids Egg on Toast $8.00
with side of bacon $5.00
and side of sauteed spinach $4.50
Babycino (mini hot chocolate) for the kids
Mr B. Bowl - pickled carrot & cabbage, broccoli, avocado, corn, edamame, tomato salsa, brown rice, corn chips, quinoa, sesame dressing on the side, $18.00
Plus fritters on the side, $5.00
Fresh watermelon Juice, $7.50
🔆VERDICT🔆
Absolutely enjoyed Mr Brightside. The food was delicious, fresh and nothing to fault at all. Customer service was above and beyond and the atmosphere was great too! I am so happy that my friend took me here for brunch. I thoroughly enjoyed it ! I left feeling very satisfied and look forward to going back there again soon!
This cafe is super busy and packed with people but what really stood out to me wasn’t just the good food and coffee. The service here is definitely one of the best!
With the cafe packed with customers, we had to wait quite awhile for our table. However, not only did the staff promptly attend to us despite the busy hour, they also gave customers complementary mini juices to thank us for waiting patiently. That really made me as a customer feel good and happy 😊
The food (we ordered the cheesy croquettes and panna cotta) were delicious! The croquettes were not oily or too dry on the throat and the panna cotta wasn’t overly sweet and well balanced with the good amount of fruits they put.
Sadly we didn’t get to take pictures of our food (as we were hungry and gobbled up all the food on the spot) but I will definitely come back here again and recommend others to come here too if you’re seeking a good busy cafe experience!
A warm and welcoming ambience as you step foot inside Mr Brightside (the name sure lives up to the wonderful vibe created here!
We ordered an array of dishes, the french toast was a sweet standout! Not only beautifully presented, the flavours were amazing! When executed well, you simply can’t beat a delicious dish like this 🍓🍞🍦🍇👏🏼 It was cooked perfectly and went well with the berries.
Definitely a dish to order from this stunning bright & airy cafe!
Officially obsessed with Challah French Toast here🤤. Any other bread just won’t do anymore! Highly recommend you order this when you come here!
Used to come here every Friday morning
Great place to catch up with friends and just relax
I love their Breaky slider , perfect to start the day off
The always have a great selection of cakes too
Coffee is good
I loved this place and thought the eggs benedict was amazing ! Even the mr b bowl tasted good with the simplest of ingredients. The açai bowl was good too :)
Also had coffees and they were the bomb 💣

We were lucky enough to be invited in for brunch at this cafe. They were so busy on Sunday brunch, but the food came out really quickly.
We ordered 3 dishes and some drinks, which were granola, Bubble & Squeak and Mr B Bowl. Our favourite one is granola, it comes with orange poached pear and pink panna cotta. It is a perfect combination between sweet and sour. The bubble & squeak was also on point, we love their cheesy croquette.
The staff was really attentive!
Nice space, good choice of seating options, it was still a bit chilly in the shade so we sat inside. We were seated very quickly and given menus, the specials didn’t seem that special but overall good variety on the menu. . The almond milk chai was amazing. Chose 2 dishes to share the fritters and the croquettes. They were both small portions and surprised by this normally fritters are larger, however they tasted nice. The cheesy croquette was very nice, good balance of potato, carrot and cheese and cooked to perfection. Our side of bacon was forgotten but this came out very quickly once we asked about it. Would recommend to friends, the French toast and the baked eggs looked nice on the table next to us, we may be back!
I was lucky enough to visit the awesome team down at Mr Brightside on the weekend and left super dooper happy.
One of my most important, and often my favourite parts of going to visit these places is being welcomed by awesome staff. This definitely happened at Mr Brightside. The staff were incredibly friendly, and had great conversation. They also recommended me majority of the meals pictured below, and each were delicious.
FOOD - So what we ordered was:
MR. B BOWL - This was personally up there with one of the best wholesome bowls i have had. All the elements worked perfectly together, and they offer either Smoked Salmon or Chicken on the side. I chose the salmon..and YUMMMMO.
CHALLAH FRENCH TOAST - A picture says 1000 words, and so did the taste. These were perfection. Not too sweet with the mix of berries, maple syrup and mascarpone - to be honest, if you order the B BOWL, having the french toast as a dessert works perfect..( i eat alot).
BREAKFAST BOARD - I always love a breakfast board, its smaller portions of the best of both worlds ( sweet and savory). The smashed avocado was very yummy, however, i didn’t try the granola but it did look very good!
DRINKS -
We had chai soy lattes and these were perfection, i love the way they were presented and that you can self pour..its not as common anymore, so i really enjoyed that.
We also got a couple of juices, as we hadn't ordered enough... the Vegetable juice and the green juice..just for good measure. Both 10!
Overall – it was just a really pleasant visit, with all factors being tops! Thank you again guys I loved it!
I visited Mr Brightside with friends for Sunday brunch around lunchtime and it was bustling. Located on Booran Road, it’s obviously popular with the locals & plenty of seating outside for those who had brought their dogs.
We all ordered the freshly squeezed watermelon juice and a few dishes to share. A really great menu of Modern Australia flavours with plenty of variety.
The Mr B Bowl was my favourite, I actually ordered it as I saw it on another diners table & it looked too good to miss. With pickled carrot & cabbage, broccoli, avo smash, corn, edamame, tomato salsa, brown rice, corn chips, quinoa & a sesame dressing, it was packed with flavour, colour and texture. We added poached chicken which was perfectly cooked & tender. Probably the best nourish type bowl I’ve had & we all loved it.
The Bubble & Squeak dish was tasty and the chorizo & pea purée was a nice contrast to the cheesy croquettes.
The Eggs Benedict was served on Turkish bread with really tender pulled pork, apple & green sriracha Hollandaise. A generous serving & delicious.
We finished with the Challah French toast served with raspberry mascarpone, fresh berries & maple syrup. I’m such a big fan of French toast made with Challah bread, if it’s on the menu, I always order it. This dish was not too sweet & absolutely divine, we all loved it & it was the perfect end to a lovely brunch. Thanks so much for having us.
The First thing I noticed when I walked into Mr Brightside was how packed it was ! Our brunch started off with 3 freshly squeezed watermelon juices and we opted for a few dishes to share.
The bubble and squeak dish had great presentation however I was sad to hear they had ran out of haloumi. We were able to replace it with a hash brown which was homemade and extremely crunchy . The cheesy croquettes in my opinion could be more cheesy as at first bite I thought it was just a mashed potato croquette . The crushed peas below the dish added a nice texture and tied the dish together
The nutrition bowl with poached chicken was bright and tasted fantastic, we especially loved the poached chicken and the sesame dressing , there was a generous amount in the bowl which we all liked
The eggs benedict was another dish we all enjoyed, the apple on top provided freshness to the dish and we loved the slow cooked pork which was rich in flavour with the hollandaise and spinach. This dish was packed and loaded !
We ended our meal with the challah French toast, Challah is my favourite type of bread to use as a French toast as it provides such a unique flavour. The berries , mascarpone and syrup are classic flavours that pair well together
Thank you for having us !
As locals, we have been wanting to visit Mr Brightside for some time. We arrived for Sunday lunch on a freezing winter’s day, but it was nice and cosy inside. I had the B.Bowl and thought it was delicious. The rest of my family thought there food was yummy and the coffee was lovely. The service was also prompt and helpful. We’ll visit again.
Lovely experience for Saturday breakfast. Food was delicious and perfectly portioned. Coffee was great as was the service. Will definitely be back
My go-to brunch cafe on the Eastside. The place has a beachy atmosphere with a very friendly staff. We've also never had any issues getting seats as the venue is quite spacious and open. My partner and I have been here a few times; we've agreed that our favourite on the menu is the Cheesy Croquettes. A soy chai latte is also a must for me whenever I visit as it has a very pleasant aroma and taste that I can't find anywhere else.
Mr Brightside is what I call a triple threat – great location, great food and great vibes. It can be found in the quiet suburbs of Glenhuntly, situated right next to the walking trail and park. There’s outdoor seating areas, and even a bowl of water for your tail- wagging doggy so that you can spend some quality time together.
Went here for breakfast today, I haven't been here for a while. I ordered poached eggs on sourdough with tomato, avocado and mushrooms. Waiter wasn't too friendly but service was fast. The latte I had was very nice. When the food came, I received a large portion of food. The meal was very tasty and filling. Overall the cafe has adequate customer service, fantastic food however a little pricy.
Love love love the popcorn chicken tortillas. Super crunchy yet soft and juicy chicken in the middle. The aioli added a nice kick to it.
We also had the Reuben sandwich which was nice without being great.
Will definitely be back for more popcorn chicken tortillas.
fantastic food and coffee. the pastrami sandwich was awesome, nearly up to New York standard. I would be happy to go back or recommend this place
Busy cafe but managed to get a table for 2 at 12pm on a Sunday. Lots of staff which meant service was attentive and quick. Everyone that came to our table were really friendly. I was able to swap the egg on the breakfast board for feta ($1). My friend loved her pancakes which were on the specials board. Coffee was really good. $25 for a coffee and breakfast board.
The Dear Luncher thinks The Killers are a mediocre band, but the cafe that shares the same name as their global hit is anything but mediocre. Busy even on a weekday during the day - the staff were accommodating and attentive.
Hands down one of the most impressive Reuben's ever was wolfed down by this gregarious eater. The caramelised onions were divine, as was the mustard and sauerkraut strewn throughout this sandwich. And the level of the coffee was first rate, as was the freshly prepared apple juice.
Caulfield locals must have no issues with opening up their eager eyes to this particular cafe. AMIRITE?!

Tucked away in the leafy streets of Caulfield South discover Mr Brightside cafe, a true local gem that always makes you feel welcome. Open for breakfast, brunch and lunch, this lovely family friendly and dog friendly cafe serves up a stunning range of dishes that are generous in portion size and very satisfying on the palate.
Food was very nice. The service of the waitress wasn’t. (Long brown hair in a pony tail) A tad rude, abrupt and was clearing plates
before we had all finished and while some
of us were still eating. She absolutely requires further training. The guys who worked there were very friendly. The fritters with eggs was delicious.
Great Cafe, great food and friendly service. Everything we had was excellent - good coffees, tasty scrambled eggs and our relatives really enjoyed their porridge.
I’d been wanting to go to mister bright side for ages! I must say, the coffee and the green juices were spot on! I was a bit disappointed with the service, it took a little while for our waitress to warm up to us. I had shakshuka eggs and even though they were nice, they were too spicy for my palette. The fritters, however, were delicious.
"Cheesy croquettes"
Croquettes were amazing! Wish there was more. They were crispy on the outside and warm and melted in the inside. Best start to the day. Service was amazing! The only negative was the guacamole just wasn't good and barely there. Love the atmosphere outside with everyone bringing their dogs.

Not to be mistaken by The Killer's hit song, this little cafe in Caulfield South is beautifully designed with an open beam ceiling and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff weren't the most attentive, but the food was good and overall it was an enjoyable experience. Banana Milkshake - $5.50
This place had the most amazing food I've ever had in my entire life! Their pies are so fresh, full of flavours and just tasty!!! I love their generous amount of portions given to us. Quick, delicious and worth it! A must try! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is a great place for breakfast my favourite is French toast with crispy bacon great coffee & staff are awesome give it a try you won't be disappointed 10/10
Good brunch spot. Service is friendly and the food is pretty good, if the weather is good it's great to sit outside. When it's pumping on the weekend it can be a bit of a pain to sit inside just because it gets so noisy.
But if you're in the area would recommend.
Fun, contemporary, and fresh, this stylish cafe on the outskirts of Caulfield is definitely worth venturing out to! Food was sensational. All the usual brunch favourites and classics but above and beyond the usual quality! Highly recommend the fritters, benedict and beef brisket!
Nappy change tables are a must! This is one of my favourite local cafes but I was shocked to find out that there was nowhere to change my baby's nappy!!!! Please stop saying your "kid friendly", offering high chairs, babychinos and kids meals until you can accommodate our kids 100%. I was forced to go home to deal with my toddler's nappy. Surely it's not hard to put a change table in the disabled toilets? I am not alone!!!!!
Off the brightside I head... Lovely cafe in a great location with heaps of parking. Staff were super lovely here. Great menu with some interesting dishes. I pleased with the dish I ordered it delivered great flavour. Good coffee, juice and scones.
I came here with a recent knee reconstruction and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and able to enjoy my delicious brunch. I highly recommend the food, atmosphere and people here.
SO lucky to have these guys as my local for coffee and brunch. They are so consistent in food quality and service. The owners know our faces quite well after years of service. I'd love a few new menu items but only because I've tried everything.
Mr. Brightside has to have the QUICKEST service I've ever experienced! We ordered the pie of the day (chunky beef) and the potato roti with poached eggs and beef brisket. Food was served (I kid you not) within 3 minutes! And the restaurant was packed! Food was uber tasty too and plenty of room for the pram.
This cafe is one of my favourites. Lots of families ducking in on the weekend with their kids (I think it's the warm atmosphere I fell in love with, mind you, it's the staff & type of customers that make it work). It was top service moving us to a bigger table when available, and food was amazing. U gotta try the Cheesy Croquettes, they are the best. The Shakahouka was good but you should add the chorizo so the salt flavours the tomato based sauce or else it lacks a little salt (mine did anyway). I figured they own the burger joint shop 2 doors down and realise it's the yummie burgers I've heard friends tell me in the past! Food coma, I can't remember the name of it but I look forward to trying it.
Located in the heart of South Caulfield, Mr Brightside is a buzzing cafe with a cute set up and great coffee. We found the service extremely attentive and thoroughly enjoyed our coffee, juices and food. We both got a new item on their menu- the sweet potato and leek fritters. We tend to find fritters very oily but there was actually only one fritter and a generous amount of sides which worked perfectly. Sides included hummus, mushrooms, halloumi and brocollini. We also added salmon to one and chorizo and a poached egg to the other which all completed the dish itself perfectly. Delicious! They also have a sister cafe in Malvern- neon tiger, a burger joint next door called Hendricks and are opening a new cafe down the road called Upsy Daisy!
Friendly service, great menu, lovely drinks and deeeeelicious food! The French toast and Reuben were amazing. Staff were great with our 2.5 yo and 3 week old. 👌🏻

Named after the popular debut single by the Killers, Mr Brightside is a busy cafe, even when we visit for a late weekday lunch. Thankfully the tables on the footpath are both undercover, and heated too. The corner cafe is larger than expected, but the interior is cleverly broken up by a mix of tables and counter seating, and the tables are well-spaced, giving some sense of privacy.
> Challah French toast with raspberry mascarpone, fresh berries + maple AND Brekky board with granola, yogurt + seasonal fruit, smashed avocado on whole-wheat toast, poached egg + veggie juice shot AND Pumpkin + halloumi fritters with avocado puree, beetroot relish + fried eggs <
Located in the heart of Caulfield South, Mr Brightside is a large café with a wide variety of delicious dishes to try and relaxed atmosphere to have a nice coffee catch up. The staff are so lovely and very attentive. The food portions are quite large and filling, so you don’t need to worry about leaving hungry!
The challah French toast is quite sweet, but very delicious. The French toast is cooked perfectly as it is fluffy and has a really nice flavour. The raspberry mascarpone adds a really nice element of sweetness to the dish and adds moisture to the French toast. The berries work really well too as it is refreshing and makes it more filling. Overall, I really enjoyed this French toast and would recommend trying it if you’re in the mood for something very sweet.
As you guys know, I love a good brekkie board because it showcases some of the café’s best dishes. This board had a great variety of tasters and I really did enjoy each element. The granola was quite sweet but had a nice crunchy texture. The smashed avocado was very filling and there was a lot of avocado on the small piece of toast. The veggie shot was so refreshing and the combination of veggies used were very delicious and energising.
The pumpkin and halloumi fritters was another great option that we choose. The fritters were nice and dense, which is what you want to see when ordering this dish. The flavour combination was incredible and I have never seen anything like it before. The avocado puree was super smooth and helped breakdown the thickness of the fritters. The beetroot relish brought a pop of flavour to the dish that really stood out and gave it a nice sweeter contrast. The fried eggs were absolutely perfect. Just look at how incredible those yolks are! They really made the dish more substantial and worth while.
Overall, Mr Brightside is a great café and is perfect if you want to have brunch on a nice day and go for a stroll in the park after.

Piggies out, Oink oink 🐷🐷
Have been here a few times. The waiting staff are always so polite and ready to help out.
The coffee is also quite decent. Had the beef brisket for brunch after being recommended it - and was delighted with the outcome.
This is a gem we found thorough Zomato! Lovely little cafe besides a small park. It was bustling with people on Saturday morning, but the service was still impeccable. The coffee tasted nice and the temperature just perfect so as to make sure it doesn't taste like burnt coffee. Vegetarians would have a good time here as they offer almost everything with a veggie option. Their hash browns are a must try!! Keep it up guys👍🏻
Before Mr. Brightside the Cafe hit the scene, Mr. Brightside the Song was all the rage. Destiny is calling me, open up my eager eyes, cause I'm Mr. Brightside. Did The Killers knew something about what Mr. Brightside the Cafe was going to dish up to the masses before the crowd even formed? Maybe not but it would be nice to think that Brandon was signing about his eagerness to devour the delectable food and awesome coffee served up at Mr. Brightside. The skinny lattes achieved top scores in my 3S test for coffee - silky, smooth and strong. The food, at first, didn't seem particularly tempting on the menu but when you try the real thing, you are presented with great flavours and tastes. The cheesy croquettes were two lightly fried crispy parcels that leaked out gooey cheese with each bite. The guacamole was the prefect accompaniment for them - the creaminess and tanginess of the guacamole helped cut through the oiliness of the croquettes and chorizo. Not sure if the beef pie was made onsite or sourced elsewhere but it was a damn tasty pie. The beef was moist and tender, the pastry crispy and light and the sauce had a beautiful smokey flavour to it. To top it off, the kindly and good-natured staffs were quick to attend to everyone, and despite how busy it was, they all made the effort to exchange pleasantries with everyone.
Mr. Bright side clearly has won local's hearts and I am not surprised at all. From the quality of the food, coffee, and service, I can tell you they are really really good. Our grandparents have always been looked after here and I love how my love ones are treated nicely. I visit this lovely cafe on weekdays as they get slammed all the time on weekends and service could be a little bit pushy at times but this is totally understandable. This is what happens to every great cafe in Melbourne. If you live nearby, this is cafe I do highly recommend.
During weekend, Mr.Brightside was very busy! They have large tables to seat large groups. Setting was simple, comfortable. Coffee was nice and service was good.
MR. Brightside offer classic breakfast menu items as well as sandwich and burger option for lunch. The big breakfast my friend ordered was huge and could feed two ppl for sure. Poached salmon that my friend had looked simple, and she didn't recommend that dish.
#toast with avocado and quinoa- looked so healthy with all the avocado and quinoa mixture and cherry tomatoes. They mixed goat cheese with avocado to add extra flavors. But it needed more salt and taste little plain.
#potato hash with beef brisket-topped with two perfectly cooked poached eggs. The beef brisket was really nice, tender and full of flavors. Extra creamy sauce taste nice, however, the harsh browns were too hard, yes crunchy but too hard, too dry as well.
Great food and vibrant atmosphere. We orderer the hash browns and big breakfast. Both were delicious and the hash browns were a definite stand out. Felt a bit rushed by staff though; was asked about four times in the first 10 minutes whether we were ready to order food and quickly ushered out the door as soon as we finished our meals.
Came here for a catch up and brought my bun and pram. Staff were very accommodating with where they sat us. Ordered a long black coffee which was great! And shakshuka. This was amazing loved every bite of it. Great cafe for a local. Can't wait to return. Staff were lovely and their cabinet food looked amazing too!
I had been meaning to go here for a while and today was the day. We walked on in and they had already set up a table for us, impressive. We quickly had coffees ordered which were fantastic. I was also very happy with my meal as was all other diners. I had the Benedict with ham and also threw in some croquettes as I had been for a big run and needed to fill a hole. Overall I loved this place, great atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food!
It looks busy but don't be put off because they are so super organised you don't wait long for coffee/food. Very kid friendly, great menu - try the hash browns and Caulfield Park afterwards! We'll be back often.
Delicious and quick! We found ourselves on the other side of the city and decided to give this place a try due to the good rating it had. The place was PACKED when we arrived and I'll admit I slightly regretted coming here because I was starving. The staff were friendly and attentive and took our coffee orders almost right away. I ordered the potato hash with poached eggs and beef brisket and my partner ordered the French toast. Surprisingly everything came out so quick! It was like watching a dance routine with everyone from the chefs to the wait staff working so well together and doing everything seamlessly. I've seriously never seen service like it. The food was amazing, fresh and super tasty. We arrived, ordered, ate, paid and left all within about a 30-40 minute time frame. This place was seriously good!
Mr Brightside is a nice neighbourhood café with plenty of seats outside to dog watch. The staff are nice, and the food is consistently good; we have come here a couple of times and would definitely recommend ^_^
10/10 on all accounts, great coffee, service and food which was delivered fast on a very busy public holiday. Slick operation, well done guys!
Come here every weekend, that says enough! Really great food, cosy atmosphere, friendly waiters. Plenty of outdoor seating so super accommodating for bringing your dog!
My boyfriend and I come here every weekend with his dog. We love the food and the coffee is always on point. Staff are lovely and the atmosphere is warm. Lots of outdoor seating too so we never have to wait long. Super dog friendly 10/10 cafe
Really bright & spacious place with seatings for large groups which is quite rare. Coffee was good. Their menu caters to both small & big eaters. Children are also well taken care of. They accommodate spilt bill which is great! Definitely recommend them!
Loved it. Had Saturday brunch with a few friends. Great food and exceptional service. Decent spaced Cafe with plenty of seating. Had no trouble finding a seat. Will be back.
Great coffee and service! Ordered the chicken tacos- popcorn chicken, Asian slaw, chipotle mayo on soft tortillas. Yum but too much batter on the chicken.
Food and coffee are good - no frills and not too fancy but just downright good quality. Staff are usually quite good also... Happy to recommend.
Exceptional coffee and service is just as good. Food never disappoints. The place has a great vibe about it. Prepare to wait as it gets busy on weekends. Highly recommended!
Had lunch today. Inside of the cafe was open and relaxed atmosphere.
Beef pie with Cauliflower and Barley salad was decent portion for the price. Beef was very tender and pie was not too heavy. Salad was a bit dry, and needed something fresh.
Their cappuccino was excellent!! Loved the dark flavour and perfect cream.
The guy serving our table was nice and friendly, but the lady at the cashier was inattentive. Want to try more options when I am in the neighbourhood next time
Really enjoyed the atmosphere and layout of the place. Everything from the furnishing to the plates were well presented, including the food. Thoroughly enjoyed my cheesy croquettes and the French toast was amazing. Delicious range, offering generous portions and exceptional customer service. Everyone was laid back and friendly which really added to the experience.
Update: Visited a second time and was rather underwhelmed. Lacked everything I found to be exciting about the place the first time. Food was rather bland, however, still enjoyable.

This place does have a monopoly in the area being the only cafe near by, but they're not complacent, the coffee here is superb and the food just as good, gets very busy on the weekend so prepare to wait a little (not too long though)
We order a big breakfast & a burger , food is great , also it was a busy hour but the crew are very friendly. Had good time there with our friend . Love the hush brown from the big breakfast!
Super impressed with this cafe! Quite busy for a Saturday but we were seated straight away and food was relatively quick to arrive at our table. The waffles were so good, loved the peach, rhubarb and crunchy crumble. And the pie - oh my that pastry is divine! I'm not one to like steak but it was super tender and flavour-full! Big ups on service and general good feels!
We've been wanting to come here for ages yet every time on weekends it's waaaaay too busy so tried today for a late brunch and we will be back!
The seating outside is great- lots of seating inside too. Staff were very friendly and helpful and all liked being there which is a good sign.
We had the eggs benedict which the husband loved and he had his with ham - the hollandaise was very light and the meal perfect. My big breakfast was shared with the little one and he ate the potato rostis and bacon - he was happy and the sausages that came with the breakfast were super loaded with meat and not fat - perfect!
No almond milk which is a shame so had soy - but they've got a new sister place in Malvern right near home we will be visiting tomorrow!

Great food fast . Coffee was excellent and they got the soy latte just right . We ordered the big breakfast and the hash brown was out of this world . Crispy and tasty. Simple food make good.
Really lovely coffee and food! I love the interior of the space, it's really comfortable and inviting. Friendly and attentive staff, no complaints!
I've lived down the road from this cafe for six months now but only just checked it out.
Friendly wait staff and a lovely, sunny interior. The beef burger was excellent. Well cooked patty, soft bread and plenty of mustard and pickles. The chips were a stand out. Crispy and golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside and served with a delicious salsa for dipping. If you live in the Caulfield area it's definitely worth checking out.
We decided to try Mr. Brightside for a late brunch / lunch today after seeing the positive reviews on Zomato. Located on a suburban street in Caulfield, parking wasn't a problem at all which is always a bonus. Walking towards the cafe you could see that it was buzzing with people sitting inside and outside. We decided to sit inside today as it was quite a warm day. The cafe inside is very spacious with modern wooden decor, white walls, plants scattered around and Edison light bulbs. I quite liked the layout and atmosphere.
Staff were very efficient and handed us the menus pretty quickly. My first thoughts were that I wanted to try most of the breakfast items! I finally settled on the kale, quinoa and sweet potato fritters with smoked salmon, tomato salsa, tzatziki and a poached egg. Oh my gosh this dish was delicious! The sweetness of the sweet potato fritters combined with the tzatziki sauce went really well with the smoked salmon and the perfectly poached egg. The tomato salsa which had red onion also gave it that extra punch. A really tasty dish which I would definitely order again!
Davin ordered the roast salmon from the 'Something different' menu. It came with green beans, cherry tomatoes and crispy potatoes. This was probably more of an average dish. The salmon was probably on the overcooked side and was not as tender as it should be.
The Mr. Brightside vegetable juice which had beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger was quite nice. I ordered a latte which was a tad on the hot side so wasn't the perfect temperature to drink straight away. However it was a good strong coffee. If I'm ever back I will definitely order that yummy kale, quinoa and sweet potato fritters dish again!
After reading all the good reviews about this place, I asked my husband to take me here to try and because I wanted to try Bistro Morgan donuts. It was on a Saturday morning and the place was quite hectic. From the way I look at, it seems to be a favourite spot of the families in the area. We were quickly seated at a shared table, which we didn't mind at all. Like many other coffee shops, they offer basics breaky & lunch dishes like toasts & eggs benedict, but I think it is a plus for the menu as they serve dishes for kids under 12yrs old. We ordered a Chicken Schnitzel Burger for my husband and a Brightside Reuben (beef brisket sandwich) for me. Both were nice but not exceptionally great. The chicken schnitzel was very lean but at least not dry. We particularly liked the fries that came with it, were freshly fried and crunchy and went very well with the dipping sauce. My beef brisket sandwich had decent amount of meat. However I think they should work on the plating a little bit more. It looks a bit too simple and boring. Oh, I forgot to mention that their soy chai latte was very good. Mr. Brightside might not be my most favourite coffee shop in the neighbourhood but I do think it is a lovely place for breaky and lunch for families.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Great ambiance. Amazing coffee. Recommended 100%. Excellent experience for a great weekend brunch. Brisquet and chorizo dishes are all great.
Never disappointed here. The food is always incredible and honestly some of the best staff. They are attentive, not overbearing though, always quick and efficient too.
Happy to always come back.
What a delightful cafe in suburbia. Visited for breakfast to find a bustling cafe filled with atmosphere and diners. A good menu selection. My friend and I ordered, me with Eggs Benedict $16 and my friend the Brightside Big breakfast $19-50 (but big enough for two to share). Both came in good time, and were generously portioned, cooked well and very tasty. Coffee was excellent as was the staff and general service. Can recommend :)
Fantastic setup, communal table for a quick in and out coffee, as well as smaller tables for a longer sit down. Picollo was well presented, perfectly balanced. Would recommend this place
Sunday afternoon we came here for a family lunch. The place had a nice location and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. At around 2pm it wasn't busy at all. I ordered the Reuben sandwich plus a bowl of chips to share. The Reuben was nice and tasty but a little too dry and a little bit too small (compared to a place like Bowery To Williamsburg). The Reuben came with a nice side portion of pickles.
The chip bowl was a good size and looked and tasted fresh. I left happy with the lunch overall and would most likely be back to try something else out.
I had the beef brisket and it was delish! Their juice is also pretty nice but I've had better. The interior is nice, but again, could be better. Getting in with a pram was also quite tricky. The food is great though and I love that they serve 7 apples gelato here.
Great Cafe! This is our local and the staff are always super friendly. The food is alway awesome, my fav's are the Challah French Toast with marscapone and The Reuben. So good! One of the best made coffees I have ever had. Will come back again and again.
I checked this place out after a long day at uni and It sure didn't disappoint. The food was full of flavour and the green juice was just right.

Came here today and coffee and food was on point. Chef hasn’t lost his edge in lockdown 👌 service was friendly and on point too. Loved the vege juice, too!
Visited many times now, food is always amazing. Service is fantastic and friendly. Highly recommend 👌
Had coffee and brunch there, it was the first time to try there. Had what's on the lunch menu as it's all day service. The coffee was good, food was a big portion but the taste was average and great service as I was greeted by very friendly staff. Will definitely come again with my other family members to try especially the coffee.
Great and strong coffee, very helpful and lovely staff, well sized meals. Plenty of gf&vego options. Their gluten free bread tastes better than any other bread I've ever tried. Extra requests are no problem either. Lots of gf cakes and cookies as well, all super tasty! Very happy to have found this local gem.
I love this place, not only the food but the service is also amazing! I have tried the whole menu and cannot decide for my favorite. I go there at least once a week with my dog and we enjoy it.
My go to for amazing coffee!! This place is great! Atmosphere is alway welcoming and the staff are always really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is delicious, I recommend getting the HCT toastie and vegetable juice #drooling. Thanks for always looking after me, Brightside - you guys rock!
Had the Wild Mushrooms served with house made pesto, garlic, whipped goats cheese, toasted ciabatta (usually comes with fried egg but I ordered it without). I believe they have a gluten free option as well. I enjoyed my order and so did my friend who'd ordered a Citrus Salad, which had avocado, fennel, orange segments, rocket, radicchio, mint, pine nuts and honey mustard.
One thing that can be changed is that the menu on your website still has Portobello Mushrooms which I was told you don't serve any more.
Would go back!
