Amazing Falafel! A must if your looking for a super yummy light lunch

My Israeli friend brought me here for hommus and falafel. Excellent food, good prices. Very friendly family atmosphere- they gave us samples of things to try, and were very welcoming. Definitely recommend coming here if you like hommus and falafel, and they also had a lovely soup. Great for vegetarians.

Ok, so here we go, Falafels! Brilliant little things. Especially when put in super fresh pita bread accompanied by fresh ingredients. And thats what we got. Fresh ingredients served by friendly staff and at a great price! Booyahh! Couple of down sides, lacking a touch of texture and zing. Chips where gooooood... little bit oily but once you dip them in the amazing home made hummus it definitely improves. Great location with plenty of parking and a handy tram stop. Plenty of seating inside. Do I recommend this place? Hmmm, imma say yes if you’re after fresh and homemade. If you want the best in town, go to Brunswick. 3.5 stars.

Had takeaway falafel wrap, absolutely perfect! Perhaps the best falafel wrap I've ever had. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients and very generous with the falafel balls. I would eat this 2-3 times a week easy! 10/10

Falafel is best served when fresh and hot. Not frozen or reheated. Definitely deserves 5/5.
Trent Collins
Some of the best falafel I have ever tasted. Super fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

Falafel Omisi serves the most delectable falafels! Daniel and Team are nothing short of being TOTALLY AWESOME! World-class service, mouthwatering meals and great music.
Matt Harsley
Really good. Shared the falafel plate, was super tasty and fresh and value for money. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

The best falafel in Victoria, I came in with my partner on the weekend and had some just before you guys were about to close and now I'm hooked!!!
Jeff Dimand
Tasty falafel and great dips and salad make this one of the best in Melbourne. $20 salad plate is great value!
Ben Kluwgant
Great food. Great atmosphere. Great people. Highly recommend Falafel Omisi.

Food is amazing,Reminds me of the same style as Telaviv.

Best falafel in town, great service... reminds me of home :-)

Loved it. I haven't had a great Falafel, since I was in Israel, over 20 years ago. Very affordable and super value. Thanks Guys!!!
Rachel Benshimon Gutnick
Great place! Tasty food and very friendly and efficient staff! Thanks guys!
Leah Baker
The owner was so nice! He gave my daughter who said she'd share her churros with him a free voucher for more. Other food was great too!
Julia Caplan
Love this place!!!! I would never eat at any other falafel place. I'm addicted. Love you guys xox
Paul Birnstihl
Possibly the best thing that's ever been in my mouth.

Such a great place for lunch and dinner. If you haven't been go. As it is delicious. Actually I am going there now!
Marsha Rosenbaum
Had lunch there yesterday and it never disappoints. The staff are lovely and give freebie samples!
Ling
Fresh crunchy falafel and soft pita mmm... my only gripe is the salads are not spread out evenly (lot of pickled cucumber to get through at once). The shop fitout is basic and staff are friendly.

I love the falafel here. However when I went in on 24/3/19 for dinner, I had the worst service. The Guy behind the counter was not the usual friendly Israeli.. This guy was so rude and short with us. He was abrupt and grumpy. The food was great. His attitude was the reason for two stars.
Lynn Huang
Good food with friendly people. They keep sending me food to try while waiting🤣 Close to university. im glad i find this place😆 recommend! Will come back again!

This is a real personal spot - good food, great people👍🏻 What more would you want? We had falafel plate which was sooo filling.. I could die eating everyday here 😋 I love how they keep it low key but never skimp out on asking if everything was up to expectations!! My friends loved this place too.

I have been going to falafel omisi once a month to spend at least $100 and I have noticed that every time I go the staff are unaware of how to print off tax receipts. The tone at which I am spoken to after waiting 50 minutes for 8 wraps is hasty, then hostile and I have found the service to getting worse and making me feel more uncomfortable. Although I had been loyal and people have come to know that I got lunches there I will not be going back as customer service is a big reason why I go back to places.

Good food. Mediocre chips and a bit pricey but the falafel dishes more than make up for it. Highly recommend the falafel packet it was absolutely amazing. I had it with israeli salad, red cabbage salad, chilli sauce and tahini.

This place is a bit of a love hate relationship. Ok one hand, the food on a good day is amazing. Absolutely delicious flavours. But other days it seems that the guys working there don’t really care about anything except looking cool and yelling at each other in Hebrew.<br/><br/>I refuse to go back after being presented a Malawak wrap that looked like it been punted across the kitchen before being gently placed on a grubby sticky wooden plank, and service that makes you question why you even bothered to walk in the front door and waste your money on such rude abrupt people.<br/><br/>Maybe it’s a cultural thing, but I actually like not being interrupted with live updates with the price of my meal between each item. Aggressively asking “CHILLI?! CHILLI?!” doesn’t really sell me on coming back. <br/><br/>Basically come here if you like not knowing what you’re going to get on any given day and bizarre if not rude service.<br/><br/>Oh and they leave open tomato sauce out on the table overnight which is gross.
Silvia Sk
I found this to be really satisfying food. I ordered the falafel pocket with the lot and they seriously packed it in. It was not only huge and filling but also tasty. I was sad though that they had ran out of pickles which were obviously quite popular as someone came in after me to order just that.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE AND RUDE SERVICE!!!!Went there the other day to buy food for the family. Was going to get several falafels, chips, drinks, pretty much the works, was gonna be a big meal for quite a few people.Walk up to the counter, guy there asks me what i want. I start with a falafel. he instantly says "give me $10"I tell him to hold on, im not done and am ordering a few things. He tells me that hese not my servant and that he refuses to serve me. Also told the other guy working there not to serve me.Absolutely disgusting and horrible service and i will not be returning to a place that treats their customers in that way. If im spending my money it will be at a location with good food and good service. not a place that thinks its okay to talk to customers like that. I advise everyone to steer clear and go to laffa bar across the road. Same cuisine, but better service

A gf and I were looking for a healthy option tonight, so we found Falafel Omisi an attractive choice. It was our first time, not familiar with the sauces, the gentleman behind the service station actually offered me to taste those sauces (i.e. chili and salsa) on falafels. I thought that was really nice! The falafel plate was great value and has heaps of veggies, super content with the food and service!
FoodieGuru_770
10/10 for vegan who want a good middle eastern option. I believe they won some awards for falafel making and I must say that this is delicious, customer friendly and they try to go the extra mile. I have had take always, eaten in the restaurant and also had them cater a work function. <br/><br/>I had a falafel in Pita with salads and chips and I felt like I was in down town in the Middle East. <br/><br/>It is worth trying and you won't be disappointed.

I went there alone a few months ago, returned with a BD girlfriend a fortnight later & tonight brought my family.<br/>Very fresh tasty falafel plate & Milawach wrap were "just what the Doctor orders!" <br/>The staff were helpful & obliging.<br/>Will return again, for sure

YUM YUM IN MY TUM.. delicious and filling fallafel pockets.. a perfect substitute for vegos or on days you don't feel like a meat kebab. Located in Caulfield next to 7 11

When I don't feel like cooking and have no idea what to eat, this is my go to place! Freshly made crunchy falafel balls with loads of salad in a wholemeal pocket drizzled with tahini, just love it!
Thom Miller
The ambience isn't anything special here, but the staff were warm and created a nice vibe and experience. I had a falafel pocket with the lot, which was certainly edible, and had a nice texture, but it was a bit bland considering that it had everything on it.<br/>The guys there were cool enough that I think they deserve a second shot, so I'll probably go again to try a different item from the menu at some point.
IZ
Delicious and wholesome but basic chunky falafel with fresh salads in a wrap. Just ask for the standard thing and you won't regret it. Check the open times as are not standard.
Charlotte Russo
Absolutely terrible. Got my order all wrong and it was cold and when I confronted them they said well what do you want us to do? <br/>Would not recommend at all
VegTreats
Was a little disappointed with the falafels here. They were very oily and the sides were extremely salty. A nice vegan option, however, I found it to be unnecessarily unhealthy.
Helloworld
Best falafel I know of in Melbourne. The staff are super friendly and the prices very reasonable. One of my regular rotation spots. Highly recommend.

Epic Falafel that will turn any frown upside down.<br/><br/>Complete with pickles too...and vegan options.<br/><br/>Yum!<br/><br/>Caulfield Park + Sun + Falafel Omisi = Best Sunday ever. <br/><br/>The guys that work here are the biggest characters - you will always walk out with a massive smile on your face.<br/><br/>Make falafel...not war.<br/><br/>
The Lionking Diner
Just a good option for a cheap & fairly healthy lunch... Ive had some amazing falafel here in Melbourne, this place was ok, but not worth going out of your way for..,
Derek
I strongly believe the  little falafel is really underrated in Melbourne.  As a result, it's hard to find fresh falafels in Melbourne. This is probably the best and I suggest you check it out.

Loved my delicious falafel pocket from Falafel Omisi this evening - it was delish! It was my fist time there but it definitely won't be my last! The pocket was filled with lots of falafel balls, salad, dip & a dash of chili. The service was very helpful & friendly! 😊

Such fresh yummy food. The owners were so kind and accomodating. It was my first time here but i will definitely be back. Really friendly people, yummy food - loved it!

I don't live in Melb but every time I visit I make sure to come to Falafel Omisi Definitely the best falafel in Australia! Freshly made while you wait<br/>Absolutely delicious!!
FatMan Package
Wether your kosher or not-Go the Felafel if your hungry. I'm always hungry so works for me. Freshly cooked falafel as you order, hommus, salad, chips and fresh bread!

The Falafel Plate is one of my favourite dishes in Melbourne. The Malawach Wrap is also fantastic for times you can tempt yourself away from the platter. The tables can be fair sticky - but, eh, I'm willing to overlook that because these guys hit a quadruple bottom line... It is delicious, healthy (them veggies), filling and CHEAP. We all love saving that cheddar. Bonus points for the grape drink. The ladyfriend and I love it.
K.T
Fresh, quick and delicious. Even for a small plate, it is super filling. Ambience - cosy, local venue. Could do with a bit of sprucing. Food wins! Give it a go.
Whats On The Grill?
Great falafel pitas. Fresh, clean & basic salads and tasty chips. Dips too are excellent. Only gripe with this restaurant is the UberEats menu - can’t seem to order anything without a can of drink or do custom orders.
George
Went there for a quick bite to eat for dinner. Was pleasantly surprised with the freshness & the quality of the food. We had the falafel platter which was accompanied by pickled red & white cabbage, sliced pickles, finely sliced tomato & cucumber. The hummus & the marriage of texture & flavor was simply amazing. The side of hand cut fresh chips brought back memories of my childhood. If you're in the area drop in & see for yourself how amazing the food is, you will not be disappointed.
TravellingFoodie
The most awesome falafel I've ever tasted in Australia. As good as what you get at Twins Falafel in Ramatgan, Tel Aviv, which is my gold standard. I usually buy a bag of 10 for $5 and enjoy them hot with a tahini.
Suzie Milovanovic
Had a falafel with chips and drink meal deal and found it great value for money. The falafel was better than some I've had in the past, and the salad went well with it. The chips were very tasty and had crunch which is always a winner for me when it comes to hot chips! I really liked the great choice of salads and everything looked super fresh- no limp lettuce to be found here. The guy who served me was very friendly and helpful in answering any questions I had. The love and pride of the staff really shines through in their food. I also loved the photos on the walls which depicted the family's history, and which I have a soft spot for as my parents were immigrants in the late 50's and early 60's. This is now my regular falafel haunt.
Mariposa
Felafel- A street food staple of the Middle East turned into one of the best vegetarian delights in the world. A small menu and simple venue with a chaotic and fast pace ambiance -Omisi reminds me of the hustle and bustle of the lanes ways of old Jerusalem city. The felafel here are fresh served with a range of salads with tahini based sauces. The open plate is as colorful and bright as the Mediterranean sun. Love the white, soft and fresh pita bread. Perfect for reasonably priced and nutritious fast food with authentic flavors and excellent quality!
EatPraySleep
Falafels is pocket bread takes me back on holiday to the Middle East! The wonderful thing is that falafels are fresh and actually taste like real falafels! The sides are fresh and I suggest you give it a try next time you're craving a kebab.
Ellasyn
I had the falafel pita with the lot and a side of chips ($14).<br/>I was quite surprised by the ratings on here for their falafel, as I didn't find it outstanding - I've definitely had better. <br/>Overall the pita was pretty good, and it's me being nit-picky but it would be better if the toppings in the pita were a little more evenly spread so it's not all coleslaw and falafel the first several mouthfuls and then cucumber salad at the bottom with no falafel. It had chilli (apparently), but it was clearly not hot chilli as there was no heat on the pita.<br/>I'd eat here again, although not in a hurry as there are many more vego places I want to try first.
Charlie
Have had the falafels a few times from here and they are always consistent, good value for money and very very quick. They are always busy too. Good job keep up the good work
Michael Friedman
Outstanding Falafels, salads and dips. Great value for money. Best Falafels I've had...been here several times.<br/><br/>Highly recommend to everyone.
Vivian Yang
My Israelis housemate took me here, he told me the hummus is very authentic, and told me repeatedly that "these guys knows what they r doing!" I have always love falafel , this is different than what I use to have, and I like it. Pita pocket is huge filled with salad and falafel. Very filling and satisfying. My bf loved the wrap, which reminds us Chinese spring onion cake, beautiful fluffy layers wrap, crispy and tasty.
ExChef
Horrible service, trying to place a large order but when we asked for 10 pita pockets to add to the order they "couldn't" sell it to us, what a joke, this isn't the first time either, maybe it's time to invest an extra few $ for more pita bread considering that's a crucial part of your business. <br/><br/>Instead we decided to order ($200 order) from one of the many other locations selling the same thing. (There is one directly across the road) not worth the hassle with these guys.
Rachel Maas
My brother and I just started a vegetarian challenge for reason I am not going to get into now, but I don't think that it will be much of a challenge with all these falafels in my pita. They have only been open a week or two and I have already been there two or three times it's that good.
Chris
Saw a comment earlier saying staff were grumpy. Just went, the service was so friendly, I nearly forgot I was in Melbourne. And the Felafel's were the best I've had. It's going to be our new local restaurant. Really great food!
Aussie Nawaab
The falafel is one of the better ones ive had in Melbourne. The pickles and onions in the pocket arent the best but the tahini is really authentic. The pita bread is really soft n fresh too but the Chips are really really bad. Give those a miss. But i would definitely go back for the falafels. Not a very friendly counter with some seriously intense and grumpy faces on the front desk. Customer service is a total thumbs down.
MrJan
I have never been into falafel until my visit at this joint.<br/>Great food, great staff.<br/>I went a few times especially when for work in the area. Would I drive through half of the town to get my fix? Properly not.
Miichan
Originally came to Omisi because it seemed an easy place to take my vegan parents but have since returned many times myself! Staff are great and alter the falafel pockets with no fuss at all. Sweet potato chips are a must.
Tastesofmelb
Closest thing to Israel. Amazing, fresh falafel's with salads that have great flavours and spices! add some of the chilli to your pita (not too spicy) and it will give it a nice kick! their sweet potato chips and crunchy and full of flavour! if you are going with your friends or family definitely order the falafel plate to share! very filling and satisfying <br/>make sure you try this place for lunch, dinner or even to cater your next function! <br/>great to eat in or take away!
Lovesgreateats
Love this place. Best felafel I have ever had in Melbourne. Consistently good, and the place is always busy.

Quick Lunch. I love the falafel pocket - quick lunch with great healthy food
Asher
I Falafell in love. I am self proclaimed falafel freak and Falafel Omisi has to be the best falafel-ery in Melbourne. I've found that Melbourne generally has a poor selection of vegetarian middle eastern/mediterranean food and Omisi has to be a breath of fresh air for this signature dish of the kings!<br/><br/>The staff is always friendly, the menu selection is wide enough to keep you interested but with few enough dishes to keep the quality very high. <br/><br/>The falafel is divine, as they fry the falafel balls fresh in the shop, the hummus and tahini was creamy and fresh as was the salad.<br/><br/>They have a pretty active Facebook page and tend to keep you informed about their happenings and times which one needs to check before hand as they can be closed at strange times, but trust me, it's worth the effort.<br/><br/>The price of dishes is bit higher than one would expect, but the quantity and quality of food in flavour and service quite easily justifies the cost, especially considering the many health benefits of this cuisine.<br/><br/>The ambience and seating is cozy and comfortable.<br/><br/>Overall Falafel Omisi does a stellar job of providing fantastic vegetarian food in a country which doesn't tend to do too much for those considerate of animals. Keep it up!

Very good pocket, fresh, alive, clean - I liked the pickles. I'm a huge fan of the traditional Polish Falafel recipes. The chips were hard & tasted old, fried before perhaps, they were inedible. The chips were disgusting. The chips came after I finished the pocket NOT at the same time, there's a lot of arrogance in this place & it makes no sense at all given the disgusting chips & 5 minute wait for them. A falafel pocket combo, terrible chips & a can of soft drink is $16.00. This is overpriced in the extreme. Caveat emptor.

Mmmm Falafel. Up until now I thought all of Melbourne's good vegetarian places were in the Fitzroy area. Wrong. Felafel is the main event here, and they do a pretty good one. Simple, wholesome, quick and healthy, definitely worth a visit.
Happy Eater
Falafel Heaven!. Love this place. Tried it for the 1st time on the weekend and I was blown away. Can't describe how truly delicious it was. We had the Falafel Pocket (Crisp Falafel balls made fresh from Secret family recipe served in pita pocket with your choice of middle-eastern inspired salads, hummus and tahina made fresh daily). Wow my taste bugs were going crazy. One problem now ..... I am addicted to this place. Am looking forward to my next visit and it will be very soon ....

Yummy and affordable. Falafel Omisi is a wonderful solution for a quick dinner that is both satisfying and affordable. I eat there all the time which I think says it all.
Veg In The Chood
This is an inexpensive playing doing take-away and with non-fancy seating for indoor and al fresco customers also.<br/><br/>Very tasty and authentic vegetarian Israeli-Yemeni food.<br/><br/>Service is friendly too, and serving sizes are generous.
Owen
Falafel Stuffed Pita. The falafel just melts in your mouth, the hummus is creamy and beautiful, the salad is fresh and sprightly. My stomach is full but I am not weighed down.

Fantastic falafel pocket.... crispy chips... Very sweet deserts... Very clean... thanks guys. A+++

Falafels to die for!. Stopped by this place for lunch and for the first time in my life tried Falafel and I am addicted.... this food is unbelievable.

Yaakov catered at our daughters Bat Mitzvah.<br/>Would recommend to anyone wanting to have Middle Eastern style food @ their function.<br/>Fresh & delicious, great service & really well priced.<br/>Strongly recommend using Falafel Omisi @ your next function.<br/>Ada

Obsessed. Try to limit myself to one a week. Soooo good. Falafel, onion, red cabbage, hummus, egg... All of my favourite things combined.
Phoebe
Delicious falafel. Was really impressed to see them hand rolling the falafel and plopping them in oil. Best falafel, and really yummy and fresh salads, hommus and tahini. Great for take away, got the falafel plate and shared, there was enough for two helpings each! (if you ask for extra pita instead of chips) :)
Pet A
WOW.....WOW!!!. OMG...Honestly the BEST falafel stuffed Pita i have ever had. Taste is ridiculously good. Fresh falafels, fresh salads and awesome service. Girl at the counter was very friendly!!<br/><br/>Highly recommend. Has to be THE place for falafels in Melbourne.
Tammy Cohen
This falafel restaurant is pretty much as close as you're gonna get to the real thing that you would expect to eat in the heart of Tel Aviv.<br/>You are always sure to get fast and friendly service and even get first name basis treatment from the staff and owner. <br/>The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious not only to the eye (fabulous presentation) but also you can be sure to satisfy your taste buds and leave with a full tummy! <br/>The sabich is one of my favourite dishes..traditional iraqi dish with ftied eggplant, hard boiled egg, potatoes, salads finished off with their homemade tahina! Wow!!! <br/>I love this place and I highly recommend it to all...especially if you're looking for value for quantity and quality!
JB
Don't mess with the Zohan! Melbourne's number one falafels. Big enough serve for you and a friend.
Melbourne Chef Eats
Love it. I always go for the falafel pocket. It's a hidden gem in Caulfield and in Melbourne

Can't get enough. Not on the same level as the falafels on Bezalel St in Jerusalem but right up there! Great place to go if you want to satisfy that falafel and hummus craving.
Bingo Bungo
Fantastic Falafels!. Ordered the falafel plate which contained fantastic crunchy tasty falafels and fresh salad.
Nitya
I could eat these falafels all day. I have this place on high rotation for quick take aways. <br/><br/>The falafels are excellent: I like to order half a dozen extra to take to work the next day for lunch. I keep ordering the falafel pocket - it is the very best reasonably healthy take away in the area.
Shim Marom
Been to lunch with my family, and it was great. Coming in right after peak lunch hour, so we had the place to ourselves! Within minutes of ordering, we had our large plate of pita and various salads. Between the four of us, we barely managed to finish the lot. Generous portion sizes and a great price. Then the chips were nice hot and crunchy! The malawach was packed full and easily shared amongst us! Will definitely be going back! A great meal alone or with friends and family, at a great price!
Sammywk
So good! Had the falafel pocket and it was brilliant!

Even I'm not Jewish people, I still love the food. Yummy!

Omisi. Crunchy falafels featured in a variety of tasty dishes. Enormous servings dispensed by cheerful and generous hosts. Many vegan/vegan-modifiable items.
Jeremy Young
No frills falafels. Falafel Omisi is a small "no frills" sort of falafel place serving Israeli-style kosher food to the locals.<br/><br/>Their falafels are fresh and crunchy, served in a pita pocket with tahini and a few Israeli-style salads. The only criticism I would have is that the size of the falafel pocket was a bit on the small side, so I can imagine some bigger eaters being a little hungry afterwards. Luckily for me, I ordered a side serve of chips which was more than enough to fill the gap.<br/><br/>While not the best falafels I have ever had, it was an enjoyable meal.
Jacob
Delish!. The sabich from falafel omisi compares very, very well to the best sabich places in Israel. It is packed full, but easy to eat and everything is fresh with the perfect balance of salads and sauce. Their falafel plates are also good value and filling.
JasonFood
Excellent Take Away option. No Frills felafel joint in the classic Israeli style. Closest I've tasted in Melbourne to the Felafel from street stalls in Tel Aviv
FoodieFace
Consistently delicious!. Always fresh and very tasty, simple food.<br/>Reasonably priced and always served with a smile!
Olive Sundays
Falafel Om-noms. Just had a falafel pocket, it was sensational! Best falafels I've encountered to date, crunchy and delicious. Their hummus is tops and the pitas were soft. For the tabouli lovers, this place doesn't cater but you won't even mind because the salads taste great in place. There is lots of falafel competition around these parts and this is one of the best. . Can't wait to try the 'Sabich' (Fried eggplant with a boiled egg served in a pita pocket with choice of salads, hummus and tahina). Yummo!
Nathaniel Stockley
In the Pocket. Falafel Omisi's falafel balls are nice & light, and have a lovely crisp golden exterior. Served in a pita pocket with a variety of salads, hummus, tahina and optional chilli, Falafel Omisi's version of this Middle Eastern favourite is one of the more memorable I've encountered.<br/><br/>Dine in space is a tad limited with seating available for just a dozen patrons; however it's the sort of meal that's not hard to eat on the run.
Legalbagel
Crisp and delicious. Seeing a new falafel restaurant opening in the neighbourhood I had to give it a go. Thumbs up to Falafel Omisi for serving up a delicious, generous portion of crisp salad (with very little oil or fatty dressing - competitors in Kooyong Road, take note!!) and crunchy, flavourful falafel balls without the garlicky residue befouling most other kinds. Easy, breezy, beautiful and LOCAL - fantastic.

Typical Israeli food and service. Basic felafel , nothing exceptional , I prefer more powerful flavour ,
