May 2018 Was in the area thought I’d give them another go.. no changes still the same!! It must be a joke yeah?? The lady saw me take photos of it she just looked and didn’t care. The duck is a roast duck with skin off. Actually a decent roast duck with be better than this. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING!! Anyway nuff said ... YMMV April 2018 Very inconsistent!!! They shouldn't call it crispy duck here! It's floppy!!! Same as you would if u microwaved it!!! Before was 3 star... now??? I wouldn't rate it. 3 mths prior Dish 1 Sang Choi Bao Fresh crisp lettuce with mixed pork stir fry filling. Yummy but a tad bit heavy on the msg Dish 2 Peking Duck wrap .. this I would have to say is pretty good. Skin has been separated from the fat and is light and crispy. Not enough wrap though Dish 3 the duck stir fried noodles... used instant noodles not the yeee mien.. which I guess they have to cut back on.. was ok. Bit salty but ok for what it is. No "wok air"! Dish 4 the desert .. custard bun and banana fritter... both stick standard The groupon came with a drink as well.. overall it was satisfying but WIR?? not anytime soon.. only if in area. and maybe for an individual fast lunch.. would've been great during uni days though. Atmosphere was good. Clean and neat place toilet orderly and clean. Staff ... well I guess they may need to practice smiling more only the dude that directed us in was smiling and chirpy... the chick who served us was cold and not that friendly... even after I smiled and said thank you a few times ... in fact no response!! guess she did her job.. food came pretty quickly and table was clean. I finished my drink but no initiative to ask whether I wanted more drink.. lol

Came here for a Groupon deal and the food did not disappoint! The service was really good too, it's just situated next to Caulfield station. Would recommend the peking duck also!

That was the nicest fried rice I have ever had. The banquet was amazing juicy duck and nice fresh vegetables.

The place is easily accessible off Caulfield Train Station and parking is easy with a nearby surface carpark as well as underground parking below the shopping centre (look out for Coles). Though it’s not a big place, it seems popular with the younger crowd perhaps university students. Food is tasty!
Richard Ellis
Really nice food. interesting location right on the train station opposite Caulfield Monash. Yummy peking duck too!

Got a voucher from Groupon and had the dinner last night. Though the place is not big, food is so yummy with enough portion for two. Super like the Peking duck. I could say it's better than some high class restaurants. And the deep fried banana is so tasty and crispy. Staff there are very friendly. What a little gem at train station.

The four course duck dinner was great from Groupon

Great lunch deal combos at $12.80 - a dish with a drink. I ordered the Spicy fish vermicelli and my friend ordered the Hainan Chicken. There's table service and the staff are generally quick with your orders. Food was reasonable, didn't taste too salty nor was it something to rave about. Given it's location and relatively quick service I'd recommend this for those who are time poor and want a decent meal.

We ate at EC tonight and it was fantastic. We had the Peking duck, duck noodles, San choi bau, pork spare ribs, pork mince with anchovies, rice, drinks and custard buns and all was delicious. Service was also quick and staff were very nice. Definitely will be back regularly.

Had our first taste tonight and very happy great food and delivery was quick and food was hot. We had sweet and sour pork, shredded pork on noodles, satay skewers and custard buns. 10/10 overall will be eating here again. :)

Honestly, i dont know why the rate is below 4.0 . We came here with Groupon, and they still serve us really well. The service is really warm and feel like in home. Whenever we ask for water or tea, they will happily serve us. For sure will come back next time, really happy with it.

Located just right in front of the station, this cafe have been around for ages.

They do have really good lunch and dinner meals which comes with options of sides and drinks. The place is nice and simple and it good for a quick meal. Popular amongst the Uni students.

Came here on a Groupon deal as we had a sudden Peking duck craving and EC Kitchen met it. For $40 for 2 people, this is a great deal and the portions are ample and the food nice. The staff are very friendly and pleasant and we’ll be back to try the other dishes.

Know this place since 2 years ago and went there for lunch few times a month. I ordered chicken rice as a lunch set, it comes with the drinks or soup, the paying price is just only $12.80. It’s very affordable and taste okay for people especially university students to having food here. The location is a best, just besides Caulfield station and opposite to the university. Will be back for next time.

Bought the Peking Duck Groupon and was very impressed.
- Chicken or pork San Choi Bow (you choose)
- 3 Peking Duck pancakes per person
- Duck fried rice or noodles (you choose; I recommend the rice. Noodles were instant Mie Goreng type)
- Banana fritter or custard bun (banana fritter recommended)
- Standard drink incl Coke, Ice lemon tea

Staff was flat out busy with all tables occupied. But they were efficient and friendly

Highly recommended!

All right, so, imaging you go out with friends on a friday evening to catch a nice meal, how disgusting it is to find hair in your dish without any APOLOGY at the end🙃🙃
Then enjoy your meal here

Just like its surrounding neighbours, this place is mainly driven by student and staff patronage from the nearby Monash University, plus foot traffic from the train station adjacent to it.

It may not be the cheapest feed around the area, but overall prices are still reasonable and portions are quite generous, with lunch and dinner specials available at $12 and $14 respectively.

Melbourne’s rain drove us here that day as we took advantage of the underground car park at Caulfield Plaza, just across the road.

It seemed like the perfect weather for some piping hot noodles, so we got the Shredded Pork in Hot and Sour Soup with Vermicelli and Pork in Black Bean Sauce on Rice Noodles, both of which hit the spot for us.

The Cumin Beef Skewers had all the right flavours coming through, but the meat itself has seen better days. Unequivocally at the bottom of our list that day were the Shanghai Minced Pork Dumplings (Xialongbao) and Wonton Soup.

The wontons and soup were pleading for some flavoursome love, whilst the dumplings committed every major crime possible under the “Xialongbao Book of Law”.

Having said that, the entire experience wasn’t a lost cause, as it was patched up by some rather commendable service from the young guy running the floor who was polite and welcoming from the start.

My partner and I went to this place very often when we in uni.
It is truly full of memory in this place.
Back to food, honestly speaking, it is just normal. But it is always a joy when you receive a complimentary soup in a chill weather.
And staff over their is professional and always waiting to help you.

Came here with the Groupon voucher. All of the dishes are really tasty (especially the duck noodle) and the staffs are friendly. Definitely recommend this place.

Miss this place. I eat here very ofteb during my uni years. My favorite is the potato n chinese sausage fried rice and chicken spare ribs. So good. Chilli oil is also good.

Where has this place been all my university life? On a late evening of University studies, Emily and I found ourselves coming to EC Kitchen where we immediately felt the strong aromas of Chinese cuisine as soon as we entered. Located conveniently next to Caulfield station, we opted for an ice chocolate, crispy fried spare ribs chicken and also a duck, both with rice.

Let me just say that you will not find a better value meal across University ever, especially located so convenient to your studies and transport alike. With that being said, you get free soup with your meal too! The ice chocolate was surprisingly big as we thought it was going to be your typical McDonalds looking plastic cup, hence we were so surprised when we saw a wonderful concoction arrive before us. Tasting very sweet and oozing with chocolate goodness, this was the perfect compliment to our meal.

The duck was tender and juicy, albeit the presence of too many bone pieces. The chicken was also quite good, tender and succulent, just overly battered- which is a good thing if you love that stuff like myself! Overall the quality of food here is well above average and definitely can taste authenticity and flavour with each mouthful. Highly recommend this restaurant to all value seeking University students and the general public too. Great value, great tasting Chinese food!

Food: 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Ambience: 3/5
Value: 5/5

Overall: 3.5/5

Its located just beside the caulfield station and in front of monash university. Had a Groupon voucher for their Peking duck, which overall was pretty good. It was good value for money with a drink, appetizer, Peking duck, fried noodles/rice and a dessert. The Peking duck was decent, can't be compared to Old Kingdom but well worth the money. The fried rice was fragrant with bits of duck in it and generous in the serving size. The banana fritters was a sweet end to the meal and had a crisp coating and soft banana inside. Service was surprisingly good for a cafe catering to students, with the waiters checking in regularly and promptly clearing plates and serving new plates for each course.

The 4 course group on deal is a solid steal. Entrees are san choi bao in a crisp lettuce leaf and soft tasty mince. The duck pancakes were well presented and very tasty with a strong sauce. Very crispy and moist meat. The next duck noodles were very average and the dessert (banana fritters) were excellent; super crisp batter and well cooked banana. Liked the accompanying honey with ice cream. Very nice staff that asked us how the meal was going. Came with a drink that was also very tasty and gone quickly. Definitely worth the value on a Groupon

Went with 5 on a 6 person banquet via Groupon. Very impressed with the quality of food. Started off with a flavoursome san choy bao followed by a good amount of Peking duck pancakes and fried duck noodles and rice. We chose half custard tarts and banana fritters with ice cream for dessert. Probably one of the best banana fritters I had since it was fresh! I live out on the west but am now happy to travel over to the east for very good and non-oily Chinese!

Great little place right next to Caulfield station. Good prices and it's BYOW for $2 corkage pp per bottle. There's a liquor land over the road for convenience or they do glasses of wine for $6.50 and beers from $6-$7.50. We had a Groupon for $76 for a duck dinner for 4 people which included tea or soft drink. The first course was San choi bao with a choice of chicken or pork, very tasty. The second was Peking duck pancake rolls. The duck was good except they don't give you much cucumber and spring onions. The third was the remaining duck meat with veggies and either rice or noodles. We had the noodles which could have been better and there wasn't much duck meat left but still tasty. Finally there was dessert with a choice of a custard bun or banana fritter with ice cream. Both the custard bun and banana fritters were great although the bun looked store bought. Overall a good price, convenient location and tasty food. The staff were also very friendly.

I've ordered from here twice. The BBQ pork bun and custard bun are both huge and delicious. Honey chicken is big enough to serve two and comes with cashews on top. Delivery has been early both times I've ordered.

Tried this place awhile back using some Groupon deal for Peking duck. It's value for money using the deal. Not the best peking duck around but you get what you pay for. They had complementary soup. Efficient staff and quick service.
KLLYXNG
It's a decent place if you're just looking for a quick lunch because from memory it was a dish and a drink for $11.50 which is rather decent. I've tried their Hainanese chicken dish endless times and I love that dish here. The Singaporean fried noodles was quite good, as was the Korean bbq sauce beef on rice. I wasn't expecting any fancy service, as I know how Chinese restaurants operate and they are no different; they are attentive if you do need a hand though.

Left over space .... ingeniously conceived .....

Must commend the genius behind this location, part of Caulfield station, on its platform, literally sandwiched between the train track and the road outside the station. One of the best "used" left over space for a restaurant, not just any but a Peking Duck/Chinese restaurant. Comes with a large and clean toilet too.

Good and attentive service.

Peking Duck-wise; warm, fluffy, slightly thicker wrap, however meat are a little dry, skins are separated in the kitchen and not enough Cucumber and Spring Onions as noted by other foodie.

Overall, enjoyable at the rate that they are charging, even better on voucher.

And it's BYO. JT-29/07/2017.

Got a Groupon Deal to eat the 4 course Peking Duck set. Very large portions and had to take away some duck rice and duck noodles. It was surprisingly delicious since it was in Monash Caulfield area where students would dine. Peking duck was of better quality than May's Peking in Camberwell where I recently just dined.

Bought a duck banquet groupon. Plenty of food and cooked well.
The restaurant itself is part of the train station, which is pretty cool. The staff were attentive.
Looking at the full menu, they have plenty of choice and specials, so a good place for a family meal.
Food was actually decent and we had a pleasant experience up until they shortchanged us. We politely asked for the bill again so we could confirm the error. That did not bode well for the stout cashier that slammed the bill infront of us with evident frustration. When we reconfirmed her error, she grudgingly handed us the $50 she withheld intitally. We didn't want to make a scene and started walking out as human errors do happen. But as we walked out they started rudely talking behind our backs in Cantonese (as we spoke english the whole time, they assumed we weren't bilingual), we then calmly explained to her in Cantonese (much to her surprise) why we found her conduct unacceptable, and left. Rude and unapologetic. Will not be returning.

I discovered this little gem on Easter Monday. Understandably it was quiet being a public holiday with the restaurant being located in the Monash University area.

I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup and was pleasant surprised. The broth was well balanced, the egg noodles bouncy and of good texture covered by juicy wontons, crispy bokchoy and fried shallots.

Service was quick and super friendly (admittedly not so common in a lot of Asian restaurants) which provided a well-rounded experience that was totally unexpected.

Will definitely return for more!

So great experience using groupon. Kind-hearted people and delicious food. For the first time enjoy the cuisine. Strongly recommended~ A good chinese restaurant!

Bought the Groupon voucher to try out the $39 deal for 2 people, including 2 drinks, 2 san choy bao entree, Peking duck (good enough for 2 ppl, I think is about half duck), fry noodle or rice (big portion for 2), 2 dessert (custard bao/banana fritter).

We had iced milk tea and iced lemon tea, both taste good, I think is home made, doesn't taste like packaging drink.

San choy bao was alright, but I think the pork mince was way too much, surprisingly big portion for an entree.

The duck skin was crispy, but nothing too special about it, personally thought the wrap was a little thick, and also not enough cucumber slices.

The fry noodle with shredded duck was good, although was just the instant noodle, but somehow the noodle texture was quite spongy.

Banana fritters was okay, but would be better to go with maple syrup rather than honey (if I'm not mistaken). I think monkey banana would be the better option to be banana fritter rather than the standard banana, because monkey banana has more sweetness to it.

The custard bao skin texture was good, but I don't like the custard, quite tasteless.

Overall good value for the deal.
Toodles
I regularly eat lunch from E C K. And honestly have never been let down.

The quality is always a good standard.

The portions are generous.

Try the beef in black bean served over flat rice noodles - delicious.

I'd say this restaurant stands alone in comparison to the other Asian restaurants around the Monash university precinct.

Try it......

Toodles
FOOD TRIP
EC Kitchen is so convenient for some quick and cheap Chinese food if you happen to leave at Caulfield station. The food is decent and affordable. Their menu options are extensive and would recommend for some fast Chinese. Milk Tea and CokeChicken Sang Choi Bao (2 pcs) $12. Lettuce wrap filled with an assortment of chicken pieces and vegetables stir fried in a savory sauce. Can get a little messy to eat, but great flavor. 7.5/10

Lunch special is awful. Should come with drinks, however I have waited about 20 mins with nothing. After telling the staff there about this issue, he just takes my milk tea to my table with sorry. Milk tea is not hot and has been spilt everywhere.

This place is in Caulfield outside Platform 4 of the train station. We had just finished our run at the Tan and were looking for a cheap student eats and then Katherine remembered wanting to try EC Kitchen in Caulfield. We heard good things about it from Curious Charlie who wrote about their Peking Duck Groupon deal and how good it was.As this was a last minute thing and it required bookings I thought maybe not. As a Chinese restaurant I thought that they would have dessert and custard buns. But how wrong was I on that? Charlie really liked the custard buns and we really wanted to try them. But they were not on the menu :(.

We came with the Peking Duck Groupon special offer to this pleasant little restaurant that I've often driven past thinking it was part of the station and not a restaurant. All of the dishes were excellent with generous serves and great value. We had some tasty Duck soup followed by a chicken or pork San Choi Bow. Then came the Peking Duck with beautifully crisp skin and all the usual components to make up this delightful dish. This was followed by a fried rice or noodle dish with duck and then sweets consisting of fried banana with ice cream or a custard tart. The meal included a drink of tea or soft drink as well. What more could one ask.
The restaurant was a nice modern addition to Caulfield station with pleasant ambience and efficient friendly service. We shall certainly return here often as they have excellent lunch and dinner specials. A real find. A word of warning read the parking signs carefully at night as the spaces right outside were for taxis only and luckily we noticed this.
Artistedegastronomie
This was brought to my attention to the offer on Groupon. It is conveniently located near the train station and Caulfield Monash Uni campus and amongst patrons were many students but also families. The traditional San Choy Bow does not disappoint and the filling is amazing. The reality is unless you are truly experienced at eating these delicate entrees, you'll find yourself using your fingers/chopsticks to scrape the delicious filling off the plate. The Peking duck took a while to arrive but is certainly well-prepared. The set-up also kept the pancakes warm which was a dilemma I faced at many other restaurants. Another main that my family and I had was the duck noodles, it was a massive portion and every time we come we always have to bring some home **they charge for takeaway boxes (I think it was 50 cents). The noodles were nothing special, just a regular stir-fry, if it did not come with the deal, we probably would not have opted for the noodles as there are places in Glen Waverley and Springvale that can deliver better and are cheaper. The banana fritter portions were disappointing and relatively small but fit the price paid. The custard buns did not have the traditionally creamy centre but it more or less had the general flavour expected and was not as hard on the carbs. If in the area, I'd definitely drop in for the SCB.

Came for the Peking duck groupon special and was impressed by the friendly, fast service and attention to detail with our meals. Additionally we added on their dinner special which was a special menu consisting of approx 14 dishes. 2 choices with rice for $14. We settled on the spicy chicken salad and XO Beef.

The Peking duck set included San Choy Bao (choice of chicken or pork), Pancake set & duck served with either rice or noodles.

The duck was tasty and the skin deliciously crisp, my only complaint? More pancakes!! I could eat those babies ALL DAY LONG! Mmmmmm

To finish we were delighted by a incredibly tasty banana fritter with ice cream and delectable toffee. It was warm, sweet and clearly toffee is made in house. The perfect end to a great dinner.

Would never be somewhere I would have stopped at if walking by but definitely glad that I found this place. Diamonds like this are exactly why I utilise Groupon for restaurants. Sometimes you find a winner, this was one of these times.

Been here a few times as it's close to work and seriously think it needs to be closer to where I live! Peking duck is always crispy and food is just in general good. They could be more generous with their wrap and cucumber/spring onion but if you ask the staff they're always happy to provide more. Dessert is pretty good here too.
Melbourne Foodie
We bought the Groupon voucher to have a Peking duck banquet. Overall it obviously can't compare to restaurants that specialise in Peking duck like Simon's Peking duck. However it wasn't bad! Service was good! The Peking duck skin wrapper was constantly being heated up by the cheese fondue thing although it was slightly thick. Duck skin not as crispy as I'd like it to be. Apart from that no complaints.
MF
we went there with family, ordered the set meal, which is one portion of rice with 2 meat/veggie per person, and we ordered 3 sets.
taste wise it was below standard, i guess if you are on a budget then its okay to eat here, but i would rather eat elsewhere.
Tzi-Eu
Came here using Scoopon for Peking duck. $35 for two people, I would say I got what I paid for. The Peking duck of course was just plain roast duck, which was not really that juicy and meat was a bit dry. The San Choi Bao was average. For the duck meat noodle, they used instant noodle which was weird, should have ordered rice instead. I wouldn't come here if not for the Scoopon.
Melbournefoodieee
This place is right next to Monash University very convenient. The taste is alright as most dishes are very salty. There isnt enough lunch deals to choose from though. But since it is close to Uni sometimes people are forced to be here since there is nothing else to eat. There is also a surcharge on cards with orders less than 15 i remember
Yuiisama
Very easy place to find as it's located right next to the train station (Caulfield) and across Monash university. We can here with a Groupon voucher and were treated no different to a regular customer which is always a plus for me. Got the Peking duck set which included a starter, 3 pancakes each, noodles or rice and dessert. Oh and we could choose milk tea over a soft drink too. It was very satisfying for the price and we'd come back to try out the other dishes :)
Shirley Munro
Came here with a voucher and had a good meal. San chao bao was excellent. Peking duck was very good with a good number of pancakes. Only thing missing were spring onions. Fried rice with duck was tasty. Steamed custard bun was a lovely finish to the meal. Staff were good and great having byo.

Had a Peking Duck banquet which included San Choy Bow; Peking Duck pancakes; Duck noodles and custard roll. Absolutely delicious and very reasonable prices. I love the rice dishes and with the condiments there, especially their free "house" soup. Chicken Sweet Corn Soup is one of the best I had so far. Deep Fried Chicken Ribs in Spicy Salt is tasty with the right amount of spice and Hainan Chicken is tender and flavourful.
Sam the owner was very welcoming and made the whole experience lots of fun. If you are around the Caulfield area this is one place you should try for either lunch or dinner.
Recommendations: Marinated Chicken Fillet on Fried Rice, Chicken Sweet Corn Soup, Deep Fried Chicken Ribs in Spicy Salt, Peking Duck banquet, Hainan Chicken

Food wasn't bad, service was good as well. The place isn't nice though, no ambience at all. Pretty expensive given the fact that it looks like a take away place!

Yummy. Sometimes simple can be the best. This restaurant is built against a platform at Caulfield Station and you get bonus views of the trains coming and going and surprisingly no noise. The decor is simple - but clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and efficient. And the food Is just terrific.

We had a coupon deal. All courses were great. Peking duck was good. My favourite though was the duck noodles. Also loved the custard bun. First time I've ever had that.

Revisited July 2016 and food was just as good as the first time. I wish they were closer to home as I would love to have their food more often.

Good food and nice, friendly service.. I went to EC Kitchen tonight to have their Peking Duck using their Groupon deal and I was very happy. The duck was tasty and crispy. The pancake was thin and warm. The san choi bao was hot and delicious. The duck rice had a good serving size. The staff was very busy with the full restaurant, but they always tried their best. There was a bit delay with our duck rice, but just a friendly reminder and they immediately apologised and served it shortly afterwards. I had a look at their menu and I think their normal price is quite good.

Overall, I was very happy and I plan to come back again to try the other offerings on their menu.

Exceptional Service. Me and my partner just dined here with groupon voucher for 4 course pecking duck banquet, food was great but the best thing is the service! The staff were friendly especially Windy who provide us with wonderful experience. Definitely exceeded our expectation couldn't fault anything and would recommend people to dine here.

Thank you for the great experience:)
Charlie Daniels (Curious Charlie)
As a restaurant within the zone of 'student eateries' we weren't sure about EC Kitchen, though they had a peking duck offer and we couldn't resist! We both love duck, though not to a point of ordering a 7 course duck menu...To memory this is the best service I've had in a while.
Damien Szwarc
Brilliant service, even better food. Cannot speak a bad word about this place. Owner Sam bends over backwards to make your dining experience perfect. I will be running back here.

Best service I have had in a long time!. The staff were sooo friendly, absolutely amazing. Do not believe any reviews that say otherwise. Great duck pancakes, on par with Beijing! Definitely give this place a go. Josh and jessie

I am really suprised by the last couple of comments in relation to the customer service. We bought a Peking duck voucher for 2. Unlike some places who treat their voucher customers like 2nd rate citizens the staff were amazing and I would say close to the best customer service I have ever had! I mean asking if we were in a hurry or wanted the courses to span over a longer period. Had lovely chats to the staff and then there is the food. Although we had had the pancakes before we were happy that the first round come demonstration etc. the pancakes were fantastic with a good amount of meat and crispy skin in each. In all would definitely come back here and although near a trainline never judge a book by its cover.

Typical Cheap Chinese Take Away Restaurant. Customer service was very poor, the staff was very rude. Comes to the food, it was even not catch-up with the service, It was So-So. Hope the management can increase their service and taste.

Bad customer service. The dishes there are just so-so, but the attitude of waitresses and managers there are extremely bad.

Loved it. Food was great. Especially loved the peking duck pancakes and fried pork ribs. Staff very attentive. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for great food, casual atmosphere at good price.

Impressive food with excellent service!. You can't go wrong here. Sam the host reminded me of the service I received from some of the top restaurants around the world. Warmly greeted and quickly seated, Sam then explained about the Peking duck banquet we had ordered.
The restaurant is modern and relaxed with a good vibe. There was a full house along with take away regularly heading out the door, but this didn't faze our host.
The San choi Bao was exquisitely prepared and didn't take long to devour. Then the perfectly prepared Peking duck arrived, Sam expertly served us and we were not disappointed, these were as good as any 5 star restaurant. This was followed by the duck fried rice which was eagerly consumed and again perfectly prepared. Our 10 year old daughter - who does not normally eat at Chinese restaurants - had just finished every course and pronounced this as the best restaurant she has eaten at and wanted to know when we will becoming back. The meal was perfectly completed with the sumptuous egg custard buns. Overall an amazing meal with a professional host. We will be back and we will be telling all our friends. We can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
Thanks Sam!!

Excellent service. Came here for dinner with the family tonight and got the Peking duck banquet. Food was delicious and filling and top it off, service was absolutely excellent especially by the owner Sam himself. Great experience.

A place worth going back again!. We had a wonderful and amazing dinner last night at EC kitchen. The food was absolutely delicious. We were also being served by Sam with such great hospitality. It is impossible for us not to head back for more amazing dinning experience. Definitely will recommend this gem to everyone. They also do great food delivery service too! Thumbs up.

Nice little place!. Friends of ours brought a voucher for the duck banquet. They had brought a few vouchers before and sometimes found the experience not so great (not as much attention paid to the 'cheap customers'). Well this was not the case at all here. We got plenty of attention and plenty of food! It was great value for money and we plan to be back and won't need the voucher as it's just as cheap. My friend looked forward to the egg custard bun all night and was not disappointed. They were so good and he made his comments very clear, it even scored him another one for free which was very kind.

The nicest guy; the nicest food. Sam, the man in charge of the EC Kitchen is hilarious and caring, always wanting to make sure you're happy and full. he is willing to regale you with stories about the restaurant while making the pancakes (ask him about the restaurant's name).
Speaking of which, the food is absolutely amazing. brilliant service, quick and delicious. everything is brought out freshly steamed and amazing.
Eat here, I promise you won't regret it.

Love it - Peking Duck Banquet. This place is affordable, quick and has tasty, I can understand now why it's a big hit among students came back again for the third time, this time thought we try out their Duck Banquet. As I am a chronic over-orderer, given that we already up sized a 2 people banquet to be a serving for 3, we also ordered 2 extra serving of entrées, Calamari in spicy Salt & Spring Onion Pastry plus an extra main meal of stir fried Chinese broccoli. With their generous portion sizes we could not finish all the banquet dishes, instead, we had to take home the custard buns for supper that night. . .
The duck was fresh and tasty
Staff were pleasant and I will definitely be coming back!

The staff here are so friendly and helpful. We had the Peking duck banquet for two and it was delicious. Generous serves and made to feel important with the way the staff engage with us.
We will be coming here again to try some of the other dishes.
Great price and environment for a lazy dinner or a quick bite.

Really rude customer service from the manager/owner himself. He picked up my mobile phone and asked if he could throw it in the bin. That is not how you speak to customers. Show some respect.

Caulfield's Gem. Undeniably the best restaurant in Caulfield, there is rarely a time whereby you will not see EC Kitchen packed with customers. Offering an irresistible lunch menu with more than reasonable prices, it's almost impossible to not dine at this restaurant at any given opportunity. I've had the privilege of trying several dishes, namely the Hainanese Chicken Rice, Sliced Pork on Spicy Noodles and Singapore Fried Noodles, all of which were nothing short of delicious. Along with staff whom are impressively efficient and a friendly owner that greets you upon entrance, why would you choose to dine anywhere else? Thank you for having us EC Kitchen!

Jackie. Mediocre food and waited over 1 hour and 40 minutes for home delivery, absolutely ridiculous. Definitely will not be ordering from here again.

Pleasant Surprise. I was surprised to find such a nice restaurant right next to Caulfield station. The staff was really friendly, with fast and excellent service. The Hainan chicken is perfect with a large portion and the pricing is very reasonable. I really like the Hong Kong styled food and especially the special drinks that are rare to find nearby. I highly recommend the Hainan chicken and the beef skewers, they were delicious :)

Authentic cheap chinese food. If you're looking for a quick and affordable chinese restaurant, this is your best bet!
The food is relatively tasty especially for its low price.
Definitely will be going back soon!!

Beaware of a sheer Rip off. .... Beaware of a sheer Rip off.
We went for dinner a few weeks back. Chef recommended special fish dish. It was okay but tiny bite size quantity. When it came to pay, they charged $25. Was not even worth $10. Portions are small for a price.

Top notch 10/10 Awesome foo.... Top notch 10/10
Awesome food even better service! Was here for dinner and wasn't sure what to order. The waiter was so helpful and made such great recommendations to cater for each of our tastes we left full, we left with a great impression, and will come back for more!

Dinner review. The food at EC Kitchen is nice. The service is excellent. The staff are attentive and pleasant. I will definitely recommend this place.

Nice atmosphere. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and the staff is very friendly. It is charming little space jammed right near the Caulfield station, almost hidden out sight. It could do with better signage as you could easily miss it as just part of the station.
The food and portions are reasonable and quite appetising for Hong Kong style dining. I highly recommend.

They have the best HK style wanton noodles in Melbourne. My daughter loves the spring rolls and potato fried rice.
I love the selection of food that's not too oily which is great for the family.
I would highly recommend it to lovers of HK style cuisine.

Ok but misleading menu. I ordered beef noodle soup which was just okay...I had to eat it with chili oil so it was not so boring...I just wished they put some vegetables in though. Price is ok, with lunch special, you can get a meal and a drink for $10. Their milk tea was too sweet so I mixed it with more water. Overall my experience was not so bad but my friend who ordered vietnamese rolls got these tiny spring rolls (deep fried, and really really tiny), and he also ordered ice cream on orange juice which their orange juice turned out to be orange fanta :D. Lol I felt sorry for him.

DISGUSTING.... I went there all the time at the lunch time when I have school. I usually ordered the Hainan chicken, coz so far it was the best from their lunch special. For the price the quality was ok, I couldn’t complaint about it, coz it was just $10 with a drink. And I usually ordered ice milk tea as well.
However, until one day the milk tea was too too sweet (I love candy and chocolate but it was too sweet that I can’t even drink it), n I told the waitress to change another one for me, she was really nice and change another one for me. And here is the problem, she brought me a new one, and seems like the chief just added some water to my drink, and I can just tell the milk tea mix with water, it was so disgusting and I didn’t drink it,(just think about putting half cup of water in the coffee that has already made) probably this restaurant is so cheap that not even willing to make another one for me, it only cost less than $1 to make that kind of milk tea) and I won’t come back again...like ever

Very friendly staff and delicious looking menu.
The deep fried items we ordered were on the sloppy side, not so much crispy as we expected, and tasted a bit like it was microwaved!

The durian ice cream was really good (if you enjoy eating durian). Unfortunately the green tea ice cream was sold out by the time we went for dinner. The sesame ice cream had a strange after texture that was not very pleasant.
The bananas in golden pastry was crisp and tasty.

I would come back for the desserts as they were reasonably priced, but not for any of the main dishes. It was a little bit of a let down.

Hainanese Chicken Rice. One of the best chicken rice I've every had so far, and it's fairly cheap, which comes with a drink when you go there for lunch.

Tasty & Fresh. How I could survive through the final exam period? This restaurant :))

It's pretty standard Asian fare, lunch special is okay, not brilliant
Recommend the hainanese chicken rice :)

A modern asian establishment. I'm surprised at the low rating. It's a surprisingly good place, and by far the best Asian offering in Caulfield. EC Kitchen is a fairly modern establishment, looking both clean and professional (sometimes a hard thing with Asian places). The meals are presented in a modern way and the food quality is great. Considering it's right next to Monash, it's fairly cheap prices cater towards students, though some of their hotpots are fairly expensive (for a student). A +1 to the Roast Duck Vermicelli.

Good food and friendly lady boss!. Ordered the Chinese chicken rice during the lunch time special! The portion was rather generous and I love the garlic/ginger shallot in oil! It is a must-try when you go there! It is one of the decent restaurant around Caulfield!

Good Food, Good Service. Went to EC kitchen with friends for lunch on Sat, it was very good value for money, having many choices and only $9.9 inlcuding a glass of drink. Will definitely go back again!

Greasy. Yet another disappointment in the selection of eateries around Monash University, Caulfield. A relatively new addtion which has replicated exactly what all of the other Chinese eateries have done: greasy and unsatisfying.
