BIG BOY BBQ! I am an absolute sucker for smoked meats so I loved big boy bbq. The meat was delicious, the chips were crispy and the coleslaw was amazing. Nice touch to add pickles on the side too. The only thing was that it's so damn expensive. I feel like its overpriced and for this reason they do not get the full 5 stars.
Loved this place!! All the food was amazing and it was a great meal. The meat was delicious and perfectly cooked and the fries were crunchy. The cheese sauce was really nice as well.
Loved this! Granted it was expensive but the food was well cooked and delicious. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other offering on the menu.
Food is great, reasonable size serves and tasty. The Caulfield venue is not a great place to sit in because of the layout but the team is friendly and service is good. Takeaway is also fantastic. Recommended.
One of my favorite restaurant around Caulfield, the ribs was cooked just perfect, and smoky source was sooooo yummy. the chips are very crispy. The serve was huge we have to take some home for tomorrow 's lunch, and the total bill was shockingly cheap, great value for great food quality
Yummo! Got the little boy platter to share, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Only fault is the platter said it fed 1-4 people, there was 3 of us and was just enough to feel comfortable and still hungry enough for desert. If you are a big eater would definitely go a bigger platter.
Great food, good value for money, hot bbq sauce is top, fries great (not that thin maccas chip) have nice spice on them and the American selection of beers and drinks adds to the food. Meat only ever had the brisket but it is good.
For two we got the Wings'n Ribs with the salad, chilli chips, saucy glazed lamb and an extra half rack of Kansas City style spice rubbed pork.
The food was really delicious however the Kansas City style spice rubbed pork was by far the best - I highly reccommend that. It was succulent, fell off the bone and the spice mix was delecious.
It was $81 for the two so it is a bit pricey but we had extra food to take home.
Definitely reccommend going.
Tasty ribs and delicious chilli cheese fries! Keep it basic with ribs and chips and you cannot go wrong here. Cost is approximately $30-40 per person.
Make a mess of yourself and utilise ever condiment possible.
Flavoursome melt in your mouth pulled meat served simplistically on slices of bread which by the time you finish your meal will be soaked through with meaty juice and marinade.
For those who like their meat scolding hot and done well done you won't find it here. Meat is slow cooked and quite pink which may turn a few off but trust me give it a go you won't regret it. Ribs are also a hit!

As good as you can get outside of the South. I've enjoyed both times I've been here.
Their marinades and sauce are particularly good; paired with sweet, succulent and generous pork. Whooowee!
Do: the big boy BBQ. Must go with a group of friends so you can try a bit of everything.
Don't: stop there. Come back for any of the sandwiches, but favorite are the ribs and chicken.
Tip: parking is sometimes a little difficult out the front. But don't give up.
Hidden in the suburbs is the lil pocket of delicious bbq ribs..
Menu slightly hard to read but maybe thats because i was starving... waiter was great, she helped us great recommendations and talked us through how it was cooked and what we should expect.

Very good price and nice service. BBQ sauce is prominent throughout some burgers however this is to be expected. Had Zee Man and chicken burger and enjoyed both. Chips are really nice.
I've never had BBQ before and was taken here by a friend. Based on my first visit I was very impressed. Spicy chicken was not surprisingly...spicy but it was delicious and very messy!
I really enjoyed my experience here, fast service (we were the first diners for the day) food was out within minutes. We ordered the little boy platter which consists of ribs (of your choice) that were well cooked. Pulled lamb (could have more flavour). Brisket (absolutely amazing). Pickles and 2 sides of your choice we chose onion strings and coleslaw. Everything was fresh and worked well together. We also had the peanut butter pie to share for dessert which was delighting and smooth after a big meaty meal. All in all i would go back again. Only criticism is a smile from the waiters would be nice.
if your after american food then go hear.. heaps greasy, heaps cheesy. not always ideal but its a good fix. If your after top quality smoked meat... mmm there are better places. still good though.
" Wings'n Ribs FEED 1-2 Regular wings and half rack of Saucy qlazed pork ribs with 2 chip with Jalepeno cheese super yummmm best ribs ever LOVE
I had heard amazing things about this place, but was really disappointed.
If you only like meat and deep fried fat in your burger, with no salad, then this place is for you.
Pork ribs was fantastic! Onion also was best snack ever! Strongly recommend try to order it! When I asking fatty boss, wt do u recommend? He said everything! Cutie boss ever
they compare to those at Hurriane's Grill in Sydney. Big Boy's is more of a fast food option rather than a sit down restaurant. Onion Strings, Crispy Fried $4.95 (left) Crunchy Chips, Lightly Spiced $3.95 (right) Onion Strings were super crispy and fun to eat. 8/19 The Fries were normal. 5/10 Kansas City Style Spice Rubbed Pork (1/2 rack) $29 (right) Saucy Glazed Pork (1/2 rack) $29 (left) The kansas style pork was a bit too dry. Reminded me of jerky. 6/10 The saucy ribs were really tender and the meat fell off the bone, but the sauce was a bit too sweet. 7/10

BBB's motto is SLOW FOOD... FAST, and it definitely was. I love places that serve quality food, quickly!
Overall we left the restaurant feeling like we had feasted on half of america and had nothing but happy thoughts in our minds...
Big Boy BBQ is the type of concept that should really be a chain. The sad thing is, as much as I wanted to love Big Boy, unless it does become a chain and somehow end up in the Western suburbs, we won't be dining there again. There was nothing wrong with the food (I really enjoyed my sandwich), but for us the travel time was not worth it.
I'll take good brisket over steak any day. As a massive brisket fan, I really enjoyed the Zee Man brisket sandwich and chips here today (great chips, but still #2 on my list after Tuckshop Takeaways). Always happy with a diversion from the norm, I thought the onion strings were really cool and would recommend the Mexican soft drink if you're not drinking beers. Staff were very friendly and keen to give recommendations.
Next time I go though, I'm going to do it justice #meatsweats #lads #foodcoma.
Yeahaaa!!!. Smoked pork ribs, beef brisket burger (Dorothy), smoky chicken wings, served with a side of chips.... Yep, it sure is messy, however very tasty. The meat is tender, juicy and cooked beautifully. There are different sauces to choose from if you feel you need some extra flavour. However, the meat is already marinated, so maybe try it first before adding anything extra. It was moderatly priced, however, I think fairly good value for money. We will be back.
Always awesome food, my favourite spot for bbq for almost two years ! Staff are always attentive and friendly !
The pork ribs were delicious. The fries were cooked to perfection as were the onion rings. Couldn't fault my meal. Tasted sensational. The only downside to the dining experience was the lack of adequate seating.
Amazing food the only bad thing is they don't sell Sioux city creaming soda but the root beer was still very nice can't wait to go back again...
Visited the just-opened Caulfield store. Service was terrific. Fat-Teddy is fond of American style food (the crew not so) and mentioned several times that this place reminded him of Mighty Quinns in NY (is this good?!). We had the ribs & wings combo deal with spicy coleslaw and onion 'strings' plus a small serve of fries. It's messy but delicious. We joyously rolled up our sleeves & dug in, BBQ sauce all over our faces - you can't be neat. Chicken wings were moist & ribs tasty and falling off the bone. Selection of condiments was impressive. Great place to eat ... just plan for an extra long work out the day after.
Good work but...... We enjoyed the pulled pork and the two meat burgers today! Meat was fantastic but when you sell top end burgers don't use the same bread Upwey Tecoma football club use.
Mmmmm...meat!. Gosh I love me some meat. And especially with a Southern BBQ slant. Big boy BBQ has all sorts of meat cooked to perfection, with delicious smoky southern flavours. Between the three of us, we shared a "big girl" platter, filled with lamb ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork and chicken, and 2 jumbo sides - we picked their amazing chips, and coleslaw. Add the zingy BBQ sauces on the table to your meal, and you're in business! So damn good!!! But leave some space for dessert...the peanut butter ganache pie is the bomb!!! I've had others, but this is the closest to the delicious Brooklyn BBQ joint we've had in Melbourne! Dine in or take away, no need to queue out the door like other "cool" places...just do it!
Proper Seppo grub. The Dear Luncher has now visited this branch and the Hardware Lane (CBD) version of Big Boy BBQ. This is where it's at. Lamb ribs and wings - both delish. The Dear Luncher cannot wait to progressively get through all their menu items. Some of The Dear Luncher's colleagues enjoyed a couple of their sandwiches and they looked amazing.
As an American living in Melbourne, I have longed for the day that I might find authentic BBQ in all American varieties. THIS IS IT!! Forget the hipster decorations of 'trendy' Melbourne eateries, this place has huge portions, full flavour and a great soundtrack of American blues and rock. It's as authentic as it comes. Brilliant!
Awesome feed.. Quality service highly recommend
Great food. Have the pulled pork, it is very good. Not too expensive, takeaway is good too.
