My favourite local cafe, the staff are always so friendly and the food and coffee is amazing!
Lovely cafe with nice vibe. Coffee and hot chocolate are good. We tried the almond croissant and its nice. They seem to have other delicious items which we might try in our next visit..
I have been eating at Picknick Cafe since it opened. David the owner is friendly, flexible with the menu and always tries to please. I recommend to try this great cafe and try the "Ben's omelette" which is named after me. David is friendly and awesome.
Fantastic food and Chef David is a gentleman. Highly recommend the Chai Latte, Superfood Salad and Mango Chicken Salad. Coffee is unreal too.
Such a cute concept for a cafe! Coffee is great but food is a little average. The variety isn't huge but what they have is great. Service is alright as well but overall a good place to catch up with some friends

I hade the "Ben's omelette " and it was delicious cocked to perfection and serve with a smile....

I have a renewed respect for this cafe since having a baby, they are so friendly and accommodating when I come I with the pram for a coffee or bite to eat. The coffee is great, the gluten free brownie is delicious and their other take away items such as the bread, snacks and juices are awesome as well.
This place is always great with service as well as delicious food and excellent coffee.
We are very fussy about our coffee and Picknick never disappoints us.
Staff are pleasant abd the owner well mannered.
Worth another visit
This is undoubtedly the best café on the strip. Their meals are fresh and tasty, and you can tell that the ingredients they use are of the best quality. They cold press their own juices (which are sometimes added to their meals to add a unique and healthy kick), and their coffee is the best on the strip. Slowly making my way through the menu 😊
Had the most delicious breakfast there ever - eggs shackshucka - cooked to absolute perfection. And fresh leaf tea in a pot - so many cafes think serving a teabag in a pot will suffice so it was great to go to a cafe with delicious fresh leaf tea and extra hot water provided with a smile.

I work nearby and was so thrilled to finally have a good coffee shop open up in the area and it certainly has exceeded my expectations. The coffee is delicious, the food is amazing and the staff are friendly and personable. The cafe has a really friendly vibe and the interior is simple and sophisticated. The area really in need for a cafe like Picknick. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a quick coffee or somewhere nice and causal to meet for lunch. Thumbs up from me!

I work close by and my colleagues and I have being buying coffee since the very first day Picknick opened a couple of months ago.
The first thing that hits you is the aesthetic - the beautiful and creative interior is so quintessentially Melbourne. It is modern, sleek and inviting and made even more impressive when you learn that the owner's wife is the designer.
The owner, David, is extremely passionate and dedicated. This was evident from day one and conversations over several weeks reveal that he, with the help of only a few tradesman, built the space. You get a sense, then, of the quality he aspires to.
The coffee and food are fantastic, some of the best I have had in Melbourne. As I work nearby, I buy coffee here almost daily - it never wavers in quality, no mater how busy the cafe is (and it is always brimming with customers).
I'm happy to write such a glowing review of Picknick because I think it is utterly deserving. It's so nice to go to and spend money at a place that is truly committed to high quality for customers.
*Update - do not walk out of this cafe without trying the sugar free/gluten free peppermint slice - absolute guilt free heaven.
*Update - the grilled chicken sandwich is absolutely superb. It is packed with flavour with a delicious aioli, avocado and salad.
David and his staff are friendly, welcoming and make literally the best coffee I have ever had! Thank you for the amazing quality food and drinks :)

Neat, bright and one of the more modern ones along the street. Along the two tram lines!- one right outside along Hawthorn Rd, and the other Balaclava Rd. Prices are mid range. Coffee >$4, lunch >$15. Wheelchair friendly to the shop, but Toilet at the back down the steps.

I have tried the lentil soup, lentil veg salad with tahini and zucchini dip. All delicious, Im now scouring the internet to try to replicate these delicious recipes. I'll def be back, it has inspired some new flavours of cooking for my family. Thank you for your wholesome, healthy and hearty food and flavours.
They have the best coffee !
And the best Healy shots such as Turmeric and ginger shots , helped us reduce the stomach bloat!
They also have great nuts and huge range of organic products!
