After a wine tasting of Riverbank On The Run wines at nearby Sandalford Gourmet Escape, we headed to the Riverbank Restaurant a short distance away in Hamersley Road. We were seated at a bench table under the cover of beautiful cool vines. The service was very good and prompt and soon were enjoying a bottle of their white ON THE RUN blended wine whilst enjoying the views of the vines.
We chose the Pork Belly and the Beef Brisket as our mains and despite the restaurant being filled to capacity on this particular Sunday our food arrived quickly, presented and cooked to near perfection. We agreed that the star dish was the brisket. The food was simply delicious and we will certainly return very soon. The staff at the restaurant were knowledgeable about the food on offer and very attentive, thus adding to the comfort of the restaurant and enjoyment of the long slow lunch in the Valley. Thank You
Such a beautiful spot! Reminded me of Tasmania, sitting high overlooking green paddocks is a rare sight in WA. The food, wine and service was excellent, could not fault! Looking forward to it becoming a regular spot over the Spring
Lovely rustic atmosphere. Service good and friendly. Balanced menu - not much veg options but the beetroot risotto we had was very nice although quite rich. Sourdough and liver pate delicious and the wines were also good. Very nice outside setting with views across the vines. Is in entertainment book so that makes it affordable. Very relaxing and pleasant place for lunch. I imagine it’s very busy on a weekend but on a Tues it was perfect for us.
I have been to Riverbank Estate many times and exery time the food, wine and service have always been exceptional. The staff are very friendly and professional and have an extensive knowledge of the menu as well as the wines.
Riverbank Estate has a seperate Vegan Menu with an entree, a choice of two mains and a dessert which I have ordered off before for lunch and was very impressed.
My Last visit here was 30th November for the Eric Anthony Degustation, 5 Courses with wine pairing celebrating the launch of the new Eric Anthony wine range.
A glass of Pinot Noir Sparkling was served upon arrival. it was very nice and made in the style of traditional Champagne.
The table setting for the evening was impeccable and the Chef had gone to a lot of trouble to create a Seperate 5 Course menu especially for myself as I was the only Vegan there on that night.
The atmosphere was great and they had a good Jazz Duo playing in the background.
At the start of the night the chef who was featured in an Episode of 'The Great British Menu' came out of the kitchen to thoroughly explain the menu to everyone, including an explanation of my menu also so I didn't feel left out.
The Food was really quick in coming out, especially simce there was a large number of guests that evening and we were all served at the same time. The staff were all very well coordinated and worked really hard.
First course was Smoked leek and potato soup, paired with the Eric Anthony 2017 Reisling. I dont usually go for a reisling (or chardonnay) but these two wines of the evening were both mine and my partners favourites so he ordered a case of each.
The Smoked Leek and potato soup was delicious and had a very subtle smoked flavour. Presentation was spot on.
Next up was the Risotto Primavera with Asparagus, Broad Beans, basil pesto and petit pois. - My favourite course of the evening. The risotto was cooked perfectly and the greens remained fresh and crunchy. Paired with the Eric Anthony 2017 Chardonnay.
The third course was Roast Beetroot with Soft Polenta, chard, corn and popcorn shoots paired with the Eric Anthony 2017 Cabernet Savignon. Again perfect presentation and a mixture of lovely flavours which complimented each other.
Followed by an Aummoniere of vegetables with passata and capers. This dish came wrapped in filo pastry and came out like a parcel (or a french ladies handbag as the chef described) Very tasty but the capers made the dish. The capers were dehydrated and had a very powerful tangy taste and were crispy. By this point i was very full but didn't leave a thing. Wine Eric Anthony 2017 Shiraz.
Im usually a red wine drinker, but I really loved both whites in the Eric Anthony 2017 Range.
Dessert was Slow Cooked Rhubard with granola and Rasperry sorbet. The rhubarb was very tart but went well with the sorbet as it was very fresh and was served with dessert wine.
We absolutely loved the evening and everything was top notch and can't wait for our next visit to the Swan Valley to come back again.
What a beautiful setting. Perfect place for a chilled lunch on a Sunday. We had the tasting plate to share and I got the smoked chicken with sweet polenta and mushroom ragu. The pate was the highlight on the tasting plate. My chicken was a little dry but the sweet polenta made up for it.. so creamy and delish. I also really liked the mushroom ragu. Downside was the service.. it was slow and not very attentive. Keen to come back try the breakfast menu.
The evening started with a welcoming greeting from lovely staff. The venue was full of diners, which was a promising sign of things to come. Things got better when we sat down at were greeted with amazing wine which I was told was harvested by the family owners themselves. We ordered the chefs tasting plate which was great value. Blue cheese panacotta was to die for, not to mention the pate. We went to have the seafood platter which was recommended for 2 people but fed 3 of us easily which is great value. Our friend had the pork belly, I was envious of the crackling which was devoured before I got the chance to ask for a taste. A great afternoon out, great food, perfect venue and the service impeccable. Will come again surely. A must try and a sure favourite.
Had an amazing lunch here today - The oysters were fresh and amazing as if they have just come out of the ocean. The setting and scenery is just amazing overlooking the grape vines i feel more like i am in Tuscany away from the hustle and bustle of Perth living - Pinch me please !!! I also commend the staff for exceptional presentation and in particular Maria the manager very attentive with my guest.....well done Riverbank....you have got it right - i will be back end of the week !
The wine here is great! Had trouble deciding on which one we would have for lunch as they were all so good. Staff were lovely and checked on us regularly and the food was definitely worth the dollars. All up a great lunch out for me and my wife.

We lobbed Thursday night for dinner as we thought we had a booking...we were joking with a family as we walked into the restaurant, only to find out they were closed and the family turned out to be the owners, Eric the host, gave the four of us a glass of his superb fortified wine at no charge and gave us directions to a nearby Italian restaurant. From Graeme, Mike, Mark and Kelvin we say thank you for your hospitality...without equal...🍷🍷🍷
I was really impressed with the service here. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. They knew how to pour a wine unlike other places I have been in the Swan Valley. The food matched very well and above all this the view is spectacular. We will be back
We visited RiverBank on a beautiful Sunday arvo. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. The food was just delicious! Especially the dessert. The chocolate ganache is a must!! Oh and definitely try the verdelho if you're a white wine drinker :)
Venue has just been renovated. Good ambiance, very romantic place by the vineyard. Good service. Good food, excellent quality. Would definitely come back.
I came here with my father in June and I found the food amazing.
Dad had the Salmon for starter & I had the Arancini and both were amazing. For Lunch I had the Tenderloin and dad had the Fish again the food was very delicious and the service was very prompt, so all in all a great meal with great service and the perfect setting.
Faultless 10/10.
I recently attended a function at Riverbank Estate winery and was amazed by the scenery and quality food. A great place in the swan valley to take friends and family. My tip is to go before and during dusk as it very beautiful and tranquil at this time.
Sunday lunch at this Estate is a wonderful experience - tranquil surrounding - five star service and delicious food. Wonderful way to wind down the week - certainly will return 👌🏻
A gorgeous place to go to for lunch. If it's a nice day get a seat outside overlooking to vineyards. Everything we ordered was delicious and served quickly. The wasabi filled scallops were so yum I'd go back specially for them. Service is very attentive and helpful too.
What an awesome lunch. The beef fillet with foie gras was better than steak we had at "Dinner by Heston" in London!
Full compliments to the chef!
We went for mums birthday lunch today and everyone really enjoyed their meals, the tasting plate was also one of the best I've had in quite a while. The food was fresh, interesting and super tasty! We will be back very soon!
Riverbank Estate is in a pretty location. The main dining room, which also contains the cellar door where you can taste their wines, is a little austere so we chose to sit at an outside table under a gas heater with views over the vineyard.
We chose the duck breast with mushroom risotto cake, the rabbit and leek pie and a potato and parmesan gratin to share as a side. Both meals were very pretty on the plate. The duck was tender and the star anise jus delicious, but the rice in the risotto cake seemed over cooked. The rabbit and leek pie was a good choice for a wintery day - lovely pastry. A couple of glasses of their shiraz went down well.
This is not an inexpensive restaurant with most mains over $40 - the entertainment voucher made it good value. Service was prompt, professional and friendly.
Excellent service and food. The seafood was absolutely divine and the gnocchi was the best my wife has had. And she is Italian too. The wine that is in the menu compliments the dish correctly and the afogato was incredible. Will go back for sure
Service was impeccable! Ordered the beef, pork, and a side of broccolini with toasted almonds. Yum yum! The entree of scallops was perfectly cooked!
When I think about how close us Perthians are to the array of produce and bountiful land in Swan Valley, it’s almost staggering just how infrequently I head inland there. Yes it is about a 30 minute or so drive from where I live, but there’s some truly gorgeous wineries there that just beg you to head down and enjoy a tipple while the sun sets.
Won over by the atmosphere, ambience, food and service of the restaurant. Located in the Swan Valley only 25 minutes from the city, it’s easy to forget you’re so close to the hustle and bustle of Perth because once you hit the Guildford area, you really could be anywhere...
Last week’s blogger’s dinner gave me a taste of what Chef Darren King and his team can produce. One look at the degustation menu the following week had me quickly making a booking. The night started with a mushroom soup with flavours tempered and magnified by the truffle upon the bruschetta which was excellent. A tuna and avocado tartare was then served up which was am interesting pairing of creaminess balanced against the taste of the sea. The saffron linguine was just swimming in wonderful flavours and the bug was perfectly cooked and allowed to shine as the star of the dish. The emu chorizo in the next course is one of the best chorizo versions I have eaten. The super tender and not gamey kangaroo slices were delightful, along with the crispy potato rosti and sweet tones of bush tomato chutney. Definitely the favourite savoury dish of the night. To cleanse the palette, an in your face lemon granita did the job before tucking into a super tender, moist, and pinkish beef fillet which was enhanced by the jus, rich foie gras and duxcell. The juicy mushrooms around the side were also delicious. The first dessert course served up a summery poached peach which paired well with mint, mascarpone, a peach custard and a fine crumb which added depth. I loved the vanilla panna cotta but was disappointed at the mini portion on the side which was a tease! The next dish presented a coffee panna cotta with a kahlua syrup layer and cream foam that had me in dessert heaven. An absolute knockout dessert, it’s how you want to finish the night on a high. Fantastic experience in a lovely ambient setting with excellent service.

Our final meat dish was the honey and soy glazed pork belly, ginger and carrot puree ($38) which you could pair it with the 2013 Verdelho or 2008 Merlot. This dish was another winner. The pork belly was sweet, tender and melt in your mouth with an added crunch. The carrot puree was deliciously rich and flavoursome. Such a beautiful dish.
Last weekend, Renay and I were invited to attend an intimate dinner at RiverBank Estate Winery and Restaurant in the Swan Valley with a group of local bloggers. We arrived just in time to see the sun set over the Estate’s 25 acre vineyard, a truly beautiful sight. The theme of the evening was RiverBank’s new menu, which is mostly based around share plates with some “main course” dishes which you may or may not wish to share (see pork belly below!)
What a Wonderful setting! lovely food and wine, friendly staff all overlooking a beautiful vineyard. Highly recommended especially if you're looking for a romantic ambience.
This place is lovely! Fantastic service at this restaurant - could not have asked for anything better. We were seated amongst the vines which so pleasant. For main I had fish of the day (barramundi) that was cooked perfectly with some battered prawns on top. My husband loved the beef and thought the red wine sauce was delicious. We used the entertainment card and had the option of receiving one of our mains for free or paying the full bill with the value reimbursed against wine - so good! Highly recommend this place.
this is our fourth (maybe fifth) visit to Riverbank - always for lunch, often on a Sunday and always really, really good. Upper tier prices but upper tier quality.
Friendly, helpful staff, great food. Our 40th wedding anniversary this time and a really special day with our kids.
Thanks Guys!
A lovely Sunday lunch with the family at Riverbank Estate. We had the pork belly, beef, lamb and market fish (snapper). Everyone was very pleased with their meal. The flavours were excellent and the presentation was beautiful. All this was washed down with a bottle of the Semillion which was a lovely accompaniment. For dessert we ordered the "special" which was a choc creme brûlée with maltesers icecream and chocolate dipped caramelised popcorn. Any sweet tooth will be in heaven while shovelling this down! The deconstructed lemon tart was also enjoyed and this was plates beautifully. Wait staff were attentive and friendly and the views are fabulous.
Beautiful place to spend a Saturday lunch. This was our second visit here and the chef is obviously very talented. The starters of tempura king prawns and bruschetta topped with anchovies were amazing. A nearby diner asked to photograph them! For mains I had the gnocchi which was delicious but couldn't finish after the entrees and J had the duck which he said was nice but not amazing. Would recommend- great outlook over the vines.
Just had the best lunch ever at this great restaurant in the Swan Valley. We have been several time before and have never had a bad experience. Even on a 40 plus day in January and a freezing cold day in August. The food is really good and the meal sizes generous. I had an entree ravioli as a main course and it was more than I could handle. The staff have the best blend of service and are careful not to intrude but keep the water and wine topped up. The meals were served at the right intervals and were very hot on the plates. I'm not a huge fan of live music during a meal whilst you are trying to converse with friends so we requested an inside table but the entertainer was very good in the background.
The wines on offer are very pleasant and the offer to test before you order is very helpful. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a great meal in lovely surroundings.
Called in on a sunny Sunday without a reservation. Very busy but they found a table for 2 for us.
Quality glassware plenty of wine by the glass and of a good quality. Food was sensational - pricey for mains $40 ish but well presented and creative. Highly recommended. Great wait staff.
I know it’s game of me to say that I’ve potentially found one of the best wine and food tasting boards in Perth, maybe Western Australia. But hey, I have a bit of liquid courage behind me so I’m doing it!...
Awesome European cuisine served by charming wait staff in a quiet and relaxed setting. Perth autumns and the swan valley go together magnificently! Love the parent/children signs. Shame some parents need to be told !
Fantastic.. Service and food both top notch. Great outlook over the vineyards. Definitely will be back.
Fabulous!. Dined here a few months ago for my birthday with friends. This was my second positive experience at this restaurant. After a leisurely wine tasting, we returned to our table to delicious just baked bread rolls with fresh butter! Loved that we could order just a glass of really good red wine nd they brought the whole bottle to the table, opened it and poured in front of you! Food was yet again delicious. Not too cheap, but I do not mind paying a bit more for service, ambience and food as a great package. This, combined with the silver service makes it a great place for a special meal.
Excellent food and service. The food is expensive but when it is as good as this you are left feeling very satisfied indeed. The staff are professional and attentive, the tables are set with crisp white napery, the view of the cottage, geese and vineyards is stunning and the food is modern and full of flavour. A wonderful experience and would definitely recommend it.
Magnificent. Dined here on monday for lunch. Their new menu had just started.
Twice baked cheese souffle, grilled pink snapper, a perfect beef fillet and a chocolate tart to finish.
Great service and good wine. It was a ten out of ten from us.
Today was my third visit in 3 months and again 10/10. Food, service and outlook could not be faulted any of these times.
Amazing!. Cannot fault this place. Came here for family lunch on a sunday afternoon. All dishes were cooked to absolute perfection, wait staff friendly and attentive and all topped off with a gorgeous view over the vineyard. Pistachio brulee with candied popcorn is to die for! Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Pleasantly Suprised. We went here for lunch, first time, hoping for a nice meal and boy we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, beef fillet was incredible and the chocolate tart was to die for. Great friendly service, lovely view of the swan valley, will go back for sure!
Wedding Reception Bliss!. Truly a restaurant with seriously good food, wine and service without any air of pretence!
From my first meal and first meeting with the staff to plan an evening wedding reception there was something magical about RiverBank Estate Winery. The staff were friendly and professional, clearly, service matters here. Communication and attention to detail was exceptional.
The generous food servings are delicious and beautifully presented. Catering for 140 guests at the wedding reception did not see any loss of quality. The food was magnificent, including catering for a variety of dietary requirements.
The setting surrounded by the vines on pergolas and over looking the vineyard was beautiful.
Thank you RiverBank Estate - your part in the wedding was perfect!
Amazing food, great service. Definitely going back again. I went to Riverbank with a party of 4 on a Sunday for lunch. We didn't have a reservation, but despite being extremely busy the manager still managed to juggle a few things around and fit us in, and offered us wine tasting at the bar while we were waiting (only about 5-10 min). I'm so glad she did because it was amazing. The food was exceptional, I had the kaffir lime prawns and hubby had the steak which he said was one of the best he has eaten in Perth. Everything we ordered was amazing. And if you're a lover of shiraz I recommend the 2002 bindoon shiraz. I left with 13 bottles it was so good. The food isn't cheap, but it's worth every dollar, and portion sizes are reasonable. I would recommend this place. To anybody.
Amazing music and scenery , food and service equally amazing! Top score!!!
Wonderful lunch on a wet Spring Sunday. We went here for lunch to celebrate my partner's birthday. The restaurant was full, possibly because it was a wet day and many people who would have had lunch outside decided to book a restaurant.
The service was friendly and professional, and the food was excellent. Two of us had the salmon, another had the beef, and another the chicken noodle salad. Apart from one minor issue with one salmon (asked for medium, but slightly too well done, so a bit dry), we loved it.
The desserts were superb, especially the presentation.
Definitely a winner, and worth a visit if you're going to the Swan Valley.
Father's Day @ riverbank. I had the pleasure of having lunch at riverbank on Father's Day, being taken there by my family .The food was best described as sublime. The entre of battered prawns and smoked eel salad had a great balance with the addition of the sweet chilli sauce. My daughters entre again was well balanced and portioned just right (poached chicken salad) .The mains though simple ,was again, executed to perfection. The steak was melt in the mouth the cheese croquette was full of flavour and the Gorgonzola risotto was spectacular in its bursts of flavour which had permeated through each grain. Now I'm not a lunch dessert person, but the mandarin creme brûlée was to die for .Crack the top layer and get stuck into the rich filling .Possibly the best 3 course meal I've had and I've been to many fine restaurants here and overseas.Congrats to the chef and staff at riverbank. I'm not sure if you have a gold plate award but I would suggest if you haven't you should have, and so cheap ! Mike Ashe
Awesome Food, Great Ambiance. Great wines with the best food. Staff are friendly and service is excellent!! There is no dish that is not worth a try. Though the chicken pate is the best!!
We always purchase a take away portion of the chicken pate!!!
Every first Saturday there is a jazz session while you eat lunch and they are always having events which you have to book early to get in.
Excellent service from great staff. Nice atmosphere & the food was absolutely lovely. Recommend the tasting Riverbank tasting plate.
Wow devine. Food wss superb or as teenage son said "foods a killer". everything was superb/devine/stella. presentation was excellent, taste was fab and the desert menu which we all ended up having the crème brulee was the best I have ever eaten. Service was attentive and prompt. well done guys, one of my fav places to eat
We found the menu had a good choice of well cooked and tasty entrées and mains, but we were slightly disappointed with the selection of desserts. Delicious wine served by friendly and knowledgeable staff make this a great place for lunch. Recommended!
Great view, delicious food!. Popped in for a Saturday lunch on the off-chance of a getting a table for 4 and managed to bag the last one, so clearly a popular spot.
Great looking menu but three of our party elected for the special of salmon on a bed of asian salad and I went for roast chicken with root veg and pea puree in a red wine jus. Have to say that we were all delighted with our choices as the food was excellent and plentiful, particularly the succulent chicken and the salmon. We ordered side dishes of pots roasted in duck fat and some steamed veg. The potatoes were fantastic, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - perfect!
Service was very good here and there seemed plenty of friendly staff around which is a good thing. The view was also wonderful and made for a nice experience.
Very good!
Perfect place for a perfect get together, a place to sit down, dine with great wine and enjoy fantastic food that won't necessarily rip your pocket. I'm definitely returning to this lovely place again. x

I went with my parents and I ordered the pasta bolognese and it was really good! It needed a bit of sald though but it was the best pasta in the world. 10/10!!!
Top notch. No dramas with crispy skin pork belly this time and every aspect of the food and service was perfect. Looking forward to a re-visit in the near future. Prices reflect the quality and if this taken into consideration, the menu is very reasonably priced and even better valuue if you have an Entertainment card. I can thouroughly recommend the steak, the homebaked warm bread, baby potatoes baked in Goose fat and of course the superb Pork Belly, the best I can ever recall eating. (and I'm something of a tragic for PB) . Try it with the superb Reisling.
Near Perfection!. My wife & I dined here for a Sunday lunch on what was a warm Autumn day, but we were shaded & cool under the verandah, looking out over the vineyards. A very nice outlook. We shared 3 starters, the sausage, marinated feta, and the standout dish, homemade chicken liver pate. All were good, but the pate was was superb. For mains we had the crumbed chicken breast, which was moist & tender, and the steak, which was ordered as medium rare, but came out medium, if not bordering well done. That being said, it was still tender & juicy, and I had no problem devouring it!. We finished by sharing a lemon curb tart, as well as a tea & coffee.
The staff were friendly & attentive, without being in your face. Our water was topped up before the glass was empty, right throughout the meal, not just at the beginning and then left empty , like a lot of other restaurants (my pet hate).
I commend the staff on their professionalism & attentiveness.
As others have said, it is not a cheap venue ($150 for 2 of us), but you get what you pay for.
In our case we got great service, good quality food, and a lovely location.
Would we go back? Already planning the next visit.
Superb. My husband and I had lunch there last Sunday. The pate was so so lovely, the best pate I have ever eaten, the porkbelly was wonderful. We both had a wonderful meal and the staff were friendly and helpful. One of our favourite spots.
Top lunch with great Bara, tasting plate excellent
Fantastic. We dined at the restaurant on a sunny Sunday for lunch. The scenery was fantastic.
To start we ordered the platter, some sausage and olives, the oysters and the gnocchi. All of it was really great, the stand out dish was the gnocchi, very delicious. I wouldn't recommend getting the gnocchi as a main though because it's quite rich.
For mains we had lamb shank which was HUGE and the meat melted in your mouth. Steak which was a little overdone, but overall was very nice, the fish which was really well cooked and delicious and the pork belly which was thoroughly enjoyed.
Dessert was chocolate tart which was very rich and couldn't be finished, crème brulee which was fantastic, and bread and butter pudding which was surprisingly good.
Overall great food, great location and great service.
It's a bit pricey, but we were able to use 3 entertainment cards with 6 people and had the option of reducing the bill $120 or receiving $240 worth of wine. Overall with the entertainment cards, it came to $70 each for entrée, mains, dessert and drinks. Not too bad.
Wally. Went for lunch on Saturday with my partner. Had never been, will now go back for dinner. Beautiful food, excellent service and great wine. Can`t be faulted.
We recently celebrated a birthday lunch here. It is in beautiful setting with indoor & outdoor dining overlooking the vineyards. Staff are very helpful & knowledgeable. Food is very fresh - they have their own fresh seafood tanks & dry aging meat. We enjoyed selections from the shared plate menu- would definitely recommend. We will be back!
Had an enjoyable lunch here even on a rainy day! Staff really friendly and helpful, food’s great with a range of selection (also a wide range of wines to choose from). Would def recommend 🧡
Amazing lunch, staff were super lovely and made great wine and food suggestions. Fantastic views and outdoor seating.
We have just had the most wonderful meal for Sunday lunch.
Bev our waitress was awesome helped us choose our wine with the outstanding aged ribeye I chose rear and it was perfect 💋
Bev was very attentive and looked out for us during our journey through the menu even gave us a wee tasting of wines to help make our choices
Elegance, sophistication, tranquility and beauty. I lifted my high quality glass of san Pellegrino sparkling water, which was an option of many, as we sat with a view over the river and vineyards. The staff are highly trained and friendly and happy to discuss the ins and outs of all menu options. Our coffee mugs and side plates are of the highest quality Churchill stoneware. The pouring rain countrified our warmly heated enclosure as it hit the tin roof and really made me think about how lucky we are to be able to enjoy such situations. Lindsay and her staff made our stay phenomenal, enjoyable and wishing we didn’t live 1000km away. Absolutely 5 star pick.
We bought a Scoopon voucher for 2 at the Riverbank Estate. This included a two course winery lunch; both my partner and I were blown away by not only the quality of wine, but also the quality of food and service. We definitely intend to return in the summer and truely enjoy this beautiful little gem in the swan valley to its full potential.
Fantastic location in the Swan Valley. Great atmosphere, outstanding customer service and the food was absolutely amazing. 1st class. The wines were very nice and will definitely return again
