Review The Coffee Club - Cessnock

The best lunch we've had in a long time, huge meals at affordable prices. Will be making The Coffee Shop our regular from now on and the staff were so friendly and they just made everything more comfortable.

First visit was great & food was divine. Second visit the complete opposite! Definitely needs alot more staff training to know how to treat customers with respect. Manager clearly needs to learn how to train the staff better & could do with learning the same! I won't be back. Thanks for upsetting my day! Walked in thinking we'd have a second nice experience there. Walked out upset & put off my food. If you get a bad customer. Don't take it out on the next person! Kindness is a two way street!

This is the best EVER Coffee Club we have ever visited. We stayed in Cessnock for two nights and had brekkie here both mornings. Friendliest staff, quickest service and deliciousest eggs. All the food and drinks were yummy.

Very disappointed when my family of 5 went in for breakfast at Cessnock Coffee Club. We were greeted at the door with "Dine in or Takeaway?". Then sat down and checked in with Covid app and went to the counter to order. My husband ordered the 'haloumi brunch bagel'' and got the 'chickpea burger with haloumi'. Our children got the rainbow pancakes and french toast to share. The french toast was made with 2 thin slices of bread and the batter wasn't mixed up properly to coat the toast, rainbow pancakes were 2 small toasted pikelets and were that dried out around the edges were barely able to cut with a butter knife and sprinkled with less than a teaspoon of pale old looking sprinkles. The chef forgot my avocado with the bagel and waitress forgot our water and glasses, both of which we had to ask for to remind them. All the food we ordered was not made from scratch. At the time there was another couple and a group of 4 already having finished their meals. The nicest part of the meal were our coffees and hot chocolates. All up this cost $80. I would not say our kids meals were worth the $9.90 they charged for them. There are a lot of competitive cafes' in town. Unfortunately we won't be going back to Coffee club Cessnock in the future.

Table was not Covid clean even tho there was a notice on it / Coffee came with the wrong milk / waited about 40min for a burn (of what they call an) “omelet” / cake look about a week old. Staff, however, was helpful when prompted. Conclusion - slow. Bad food. Bad coffee. Expensive. Walk across.

Good place for a quick bite and coffee. Centrally located. Food is good and served on time. I ordered a few dishes and was happy with the quality however was a bit disappointed with the Club Sandwitch. They could put a better bread in the Sandwitch and it was too dry with no sauce.

Extremely poor service, food & rude staff!!. I asked about the Pancakes... I asked wether they were fluffy ...?. The server had no idea what I was talking about and then proceeded to go as the cook who I could see shrugged her shoulder and mouthed “ I don’t know”. The server then came back and said we buy our pancakes in frozen!!... I said Don’t bother they will be dense!. I ordered poached eggs & tomato on toast. The first attempt had baby spinach all over it... like who put baby spinach on eggs on toast. They took it away and came back with 2 hard boiled eggs on 1 piece of ciabatta??... poached eggs are supposed to be runny right... I then took the meal back and said I’d like them runny please!. The next attempt was plonked down in front of me by a less than impressed server... I cut into the eggs and they were slimy & practically raw!!.. I believe it was just an attempt to shut me up !!?. I immediately took them back and asked for my money back!. The Manager told the staff not to touch the food as she needed to take a photo of it ... she could clearly see it was raw. Footnote..... the coffee.... was really poor also... I should have asked for my money back... it tasted like bitter warm milk !!.. I’m guessing they don’t put the extra shot in for the larger container...?. Probably a cost cutting measure ?. Surely a place named The Coffee Club would know how to make real coffee ??.

My previous visits have always been good but this particular day there was something wrong . Our coffee was Luke warm , a friend got hair in his food and my smashed avo with egg and bacon was cold and had no egg on it - when they brought it back with my egg it was hard and tasted way too much of vinegar so was inedible. Even the customers behind us got cold coffee also .

I called in one Sat morning for coffee and cake. The scone was so stale it choked me. Cold coffee. Dirty tables and the young person at the coffee machine just ignored me. A....I will be with you in a moment....would have been nice. I went back again during the week and again stood with no one taking any notice of me. This time I walked out and I won't go back again. I have eaten at Rouse Hill Coffee Club and it is such a great cafe. Fresh cakes and hot coffee. There is a problem with management at Cessnock. I also agree about the music far too loud for the ages of people going there.

Great customer service, food and coffee. I love the wide variety on their menu. Never had a bad experience and they make the best chai latte!

Well, I have given this joint a couple of tries, but no more. Dirty tables, lukewarm coffee and cold food. Please learn to actually heat the rosti and use fresh rocket, not the limp and wilted pieces that you served today.

I had a pot of tea which was hot, the milk was cold, the sugar was sweet and the newspapers were free. All in all a good experience.

Honestly the best breaky ive had in ages. My latte was amazing! The customer service was great too. The girls were super friendly.

Been going here sat/sun mornings, next week we will be trying somewhere else the food is just not cooked properly, soggy bread instead of toast, bacon is always pale uncooked, tomato pale uncooked, how hard is it to just cook this basic food properly.

Had breakfast here and couldn't fault it! Great service, delicious food and fantastic coffee! Will definitely be back! :)

Went there this morning waited almost an hour we got asked twice what were our meals again and there almost ready but then ask us what they were again 1 hour in my wife gets her meal cold mine is still nowhere in site my wife has finished eating still no meal we left got our money back for my meal and they are blaming the air conditioning it was hot in there but the air conditioner doesnt cook the meals does it? There were also other people asking and waiting for there meals. We used to be regulars not anymore.

Coffee is the best! Perfect temp and not to bitter I didnt love going here at first but the last 2 months the service has picked up 2 fold & been excellent every visit

Understaffed and got orders wrong, the meals were incomplete. Yes they were understaffed but the sad thing is they weren’t that busy at all.
